Not only did I learn to cook, I also learned about the food, spices and heritage. Monty is so highly experienced and passionate about what he does, it makes the experience extra special. Highly recommend and I’d definitely do it again.

We really liked the cooking class with this family. We got a private class where we coud cook by ourselfs. We made three meals as well as rice, chapati and a dessert. The meals were relativly simple every day dishes, that you hardly get in restaurants. However, you can also ask to cook other recipes, if you want. At the end of the class, they will send you the recipes, so you can retry at home. Everything we coocked, tasted great. It was a very authentic cooking class in the home of a wonderful indian family.
I had the most wonderful experience joining Harshita for a cooking class in her home in Jaipur. I was warmly welcomed into her home like an old friend which made me feel completely at ease. Together, we cooked up a delicious feast of Indian classics, with Hashita guiding me step by step in a very hands-on and interactive way. The spice levels were thoughtfully adjusted to suit my sensitive Western stomach, which I really appreciated, and I still felt like I was getting an authentic taste of Indian flavours. The class was not only about cooking but also about connection—sharing stories, laughter, and culture. After all the fun in the kitchen, i was joined by Monty and their young daughter and we sat down together to enjoy the meal Harshita and I had prepared, which was such a special highlight. It truly felt like being part of their family for the day. I can’t recommend this experience enough—it was amazing from start to finish. Thank you so much, Monty and Harshita, for such a memorable and heartwarming experience.
I am impatient to meet chef Swati for an exciting cooking class on our new trip to Jaipur. We were in Jaipur last February and Naveen, Swati's husband was our great guide. He talked about her cooking talents in such a mouthwatering and loving way that I am impatient to learn with her how to prepare my favorite curries and lentil dishes.
We had such a lovely time with Monty and his family! We made some delicious food that they adapted (no spice!) with no issues to our request. They instantly made us feel welcome like we had been friends for a long time. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Jaipur!
Monty was extremely welcoming and made us feel at home in his home. We had a great time cooking and learning about spices and how different seasons can bring different flavours to dishes. The interaction and knowledge was fantastic and I will certainly recommend this fantastic experience. The food was delicious and I am looking forward to trying these new skills at home. Great work and thank you for teaching us great skills. If your passing through Jaipur this is a must do experience for anyone!
I cannot recommend this class enough - great insight into Indian food, delicious recipes, warm & welcoming family! You cant go wrong
Huge thanks to Monty and Harshita for opening up their home to me and being such welcome hosts. They patiently showed me how to make absolutely delicious dal tadka, gobi masala, jeera rice, aloo masala, kheer and perfectly round chapati (ok, still lots of practice required on the last one…). All while teaching me how to better spice my food (after trying homemade garam masala I can never go back to store bought!), speak some Hindi and have a ton of fun. They really went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and give me a lasting positive experience in India. Would easily recommend this to anyone visiting Jaipur. Thank you both and hope I can return someday soon!
Block printing with Monty was educational and fun! Learning the history behind block printing while creating our own pieces really ties the whole experience together. It was a highlight of my trip!
Wonderful experience! The class was informative, hands on, and welcoming. We cooked in their home, which was lovely! Everything was exceptionally clean and organized for our arrival, and they made the cooking part a breeze. I would highly recommend this class to anyone interested in trying Indian cooking. Also their family was exceptionally friendly and made the night very enjoyable to share with them.
I really recommend this to anyone visiting Jaipur. Monty and Harshita welcomed us into their home and taught us so much about Indian food and cooking. It was a really fun and interactive way to learn about Indian cooking and we were able to enjoy the food we cooked at the end. Monty and Harshita were great company and this was by far my favourite part about visiting Jaipur!
Amazing Experience ..And learnt so much about Indian cuisine eg when to add spices to a recipe to get the best flavours ... Highly Recommend..Monty and his family were so welcoming .. Now I have the recipes I cant wait to cook for my family and friends back home a tradional Indian meal .. Thankyou Monty 🙏🏼 You're the best 👌
This was by far one of my highlights! Monty and his family are the so lovely, warm and inviting , so interesting and incredible cooks! They made it feel so easy and we enjoyed delicious food! You will not be disappointed! I feel so grateful me and my mum got to do this whilst visiting Jaipur!
The cooking class is at their cozy home. Both Monty & Harshita are excellent cooks and lovely people with a sweet daughter. I learned a lot of new Indian recipes, spices and techniques. We at the resulting food together and it was all very delicious!
Monty, Harshita and Geena were incredible hosts! I was quite late due to traffic but they still made sure to wait for me before starting, & didn't mind running late. Monty is full of fascinating stories from his travels & him & Harshita are great cooks & teachers. I not only learnt how to cook some great local dishes but the food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend doing this experience if you're interested in local food & interacting with locals. They even give you the recipes once you’re done so that you can replicate them at home.
Our cooking class with Monty and Harshita was amazing!! My friends and I have been in India for over a month and this cooking class was one of the highlights of our entire trip! Monty and Harshita welcomed us into their home and shared a lot with us about Indian culture and cuisine. All of the ingredients they use are homemade or directly from nearby farms, which was very cool to learn about and delicious. They are very communicative, easy to coordinate with, and friendly! Cannot recommend this experience enough!!
I participated in the cooking class with four other like minded individuals who were on holiday India. Monty and his wife and daughter welcomed us into their house and we were their guests for the evening. We all got chance to be hands on with the cooking and Monty and his wife were very informative about the cooking and the ingredients that we were using. The food that we made tasted amazing and the rice pudding was definitely a game changer for me, so delicious. This is an awesome experience and I would recommend it to anyone. We also got copies of the recipes that we made so we are able to try them at home.
I did the class with my husband and met another couple, from Barcelona. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the meal and loved learning about all the spices. It felt like a great authentic Indian experience and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Jaipur. The family are lovely and we had a great time.
This is an OUTSTANDING experience. Monty and Harshita are wonderful, so welcoming, and fantastic teachers. It felt like spending time with new friends - it’s what good travel is all about.
Excellent food and a great way to learn to cook Rajasthani style. Lovely couple hosting who were incredibly friendly.
We loved this cooking class! It was so great going into their home and learning all sorts of things about food and Indian culture. We all cooked together asking many questions along the way and all ate together at the end. The food was delicious!! This was a great memory of India. Would strongly recommend.
We really enjoyed our time with the family, they made us very welcome with flowers and bindi, soft drinks and chat. Cooking experience was relaxed and you will be impressed with their knowledge of food, spices and flavours, how to bring the best out of these. All 5 of us participated (we were 3 and 2 more guests, who were very nice and enjoyed their company). After all authentic dishes were cooked, we participated in chapati making and then sat down together to eat. Good value and best entertainment for foodie fans!
Monty and his family were so welcoming. He was such an interesting host and very hospitable. I really enjoyed our time with the whole family and would 100% recommend this experience to anyone going to Jaipur!
Amazing experience with such kind hosts. We felt very well looked after. Amazing food, delicious tasting. Really helpful with recipes going forward to cooking at home.
Monty & Hershita are lovely coupl. We enjoyed very much to be their guests. We had a very good time. The host was lovely and the food ws delicious!
Monti and hai family are an amazing host, with the you can live a real indian experience, and he is a le to teach you the real indian cuisine in a very simple way!
Monty and his family are amazing people, full of joy, passion and knowledge about traveling. The cooking class was very interesting and easy to follow so everybody can attend it - even if you don’t have any experience in the kitchen. Monty was absolutely amazing also in helping us planning the next steps of our trip recommending places, guides and restaurants - all real and not tourist traps. Will totally recommend to anyone who want to get more in touch with a local family.
A fun way to spend a couple of hours in the evening. We were welcomed into the family home and set about cooking a dal (lentils), a potato dish (aloo tikki possibly), a paneer (cheese) dish in a yogurt gravy and chapatis. It was fun, we learnt how to cook the spices properly and got to enjoy the food we made too. Maybe the only thing to change could be the time as eating such rich food at 21:30 was quite heavy - I would recommend the morning session for lunch.
What a fabulous experience to be welcomed into the home of Monty, Harshita and Gina for their cooking class. There are many highlights of Northern India and this is up with the best of them. We had such a lovely evening discussing travels and creating some truly memorable and tasty food all washed down with the odd drink or two! Gina also entertained us with her rhythm and dancing. Thank you so much and all the best for your upcoming travel. Caroline, Gareth and Harry XXX
We had a fantastic time cooking with Monty and Harshita! They welcomed us into their home and we created some of the best food we've ever eaten. They have a wealth of knowledge on the dishes and ingredients we used which was really interesting to learn about and we even used some spices that they prepared themselves. It's a very interactive class where you will do all of the cooking yourself while Monty and Harshita explain everything to you and offer a helping hand along the way. We had a lot of fun and I'd highly recommend anyone visiting Jaipur to take their cooking class!
During covid we did an online cooking class over zoom with Monty and Harshita, it was so good that when we visited India a few years later we made sure to reach out to them to do a cooking class in person. We had such a lovely evening learning how to cook Monty and Harahita's family recipes in their home. They shared stories with us about growing up in India and stories from traveling. They also shared lots of tips and advice for the rest of our trip. The food turned out delicious and we can't wait to try recreate the recipes when we go back to Ireland. Would HIGHLY recommend this experience to anyone!
I had such a great and authentic experience cooking with Monty and Harshita. They are wonderful hosts, recepes was really well explained good tasting. I’m really glad I have met them and baby Gina. When I’ll be back in Jaipur I’ll go again to learn something more.
upto the mark irecommend this place for lerners who are aspirant to know about indian cookingThe process of mixing the masalas and their quantity should be kept in mind
We had a fantastic evening with Monty and Harshita, who not only provided us with a wonderful cooking class experience, but also unique insights into their lifes. This is not one of the group cooking classes that you can get everywhere, but an invitation to their kitchen, table and sharing stories. You learn to prepare many local dishes - a lot of them secret family recipes 🤗 - that you can also cook at home, but the true magic is to spend some time with Monty and Harshita, who are among the kindest people we have met on our India trip. Their English is impeccable and we had such a lovely evening, that I would go back in a second. As someone working in the tourism sector, Monty was also extremely happy to share tipps and recommendations for our upcoming stops. And what can I say, they have all been spot on! Thank you so much for the wonderful time and if you are travelling to Jaipur, skip dinner in a restaurant and spend your time here, you will be rewarded!
Monty and Harshita were wonderful hosts and it was a real privilege to be welcomed into their home for our cooking lesson. We were taught how to make three authentic dishes along with chapatis, jeera rice and a cardamom rice pudding. All absolutely delicious and, at our request, vegan-friendly too. This was a highlight of our holiday!
Our visit to Monty and Harshita's home was one of the highlights of our holiday. They are both amazing hosts and cooks and took turns helping us to create a variety of dishes, whilst the other looked after their adorable daughter, Gina. We are vegan and our dietary requirements were easily accommodated. We made saag aloo, a mixed lentil daal, bottle gourd and tomato curry, chapatis and a rice pudding with almond milk. All were absolutely delicious, seriously some of the best food that we tasted in India. I can't recommend this experience highly enough. Book now, you won't regret it.
Monty and Baloo were fabulous hosts and we highly recommend their cooking class. They gave clear instructions and demonstrations and we made delicious food to share together.
A lovely experience with a lovely family. I'd really recommend this cooking class for an opportunity to try some authentic Indian dishes. Locally sources seasonal ingredients are used to make the tastiest dishes. DELICIOUS!!
Monty and his family were beyond amazing, I could not recommend this experience enough. They were super flexible with the menu and adjusted to what we wanted to learn to cook, once we arrived they welcomed us with a ritual and gave us a beautiful flower necklace, they shared their life adventures and were super welcoming, we felt at home. The food was delicious, full of taste and Monty made sure we were involved in the cooking as much as possible, if you are in India please take this class, it will not disappoint you.
Monty and his wife, Harshita, are such wonderful hosts. They really make you feel like family while teaching you to cook some incredible dishes. I even got to customize the menu to learn to cook one of my favorites. It was such a special experience and I cannot recommend it enough!
I thoroughly enjoyed myself cooking and learning more about Indian cuisine, particularly aromatic spices, a mix of savory and sweet, from cumin, coriander, cardamom and turmeric to clove and cinnamon to the spice of chili peppers. Monty & Harshita were both very through, patient & engaging in giving guidance. I highly recommend this unique interactive experience when visiting Jaipur.
This was one of the most favourite things we did on our trip in India. After eating such delicious food, it was special to understand the ingredients that go into every meal. The food is really delicious. Monty and Harshita let you do a lot but never let you struggle so it's not intimidating.
Enjoyable to learn how to cook classic Rajasthan dishes. Very welcoming home and people. So fun to eat!
We really enjoyed the evening with Monty and Harshita, it was nice to learn some secrets of Indian cuisine while talking about food and travels around the world. We recommend this experience if you go to Jaipur.
This cooking class was so great and enjoyable! They are the nicest couple who make you feel completely at home and do such a great job with the instruction! We learned so much and really enjoyed their company and spending time with them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Harshita and Monty guided us in cooking typical Rajasthani dishes! We learnt how to use each spice, when to add every ingredient and how to know when it's ready. They're very calm and kind, so we felt comfortable trying out something we've never cooked before. On top of it being very fun, it was also delicious! We thank them for hosting us and highly recommend this experience to everyone who wants to have a real, hands-on cooking class with a warm and kind-hearted family.
As a lover of Indian cuisine, this experience exceeded my expectations. Harshita and Monty made me feel like I was in my own kitchen. They guided me to make typical Indian recipes with a lot of patience and charisma. I learned how to mix spices, made rice with coconut, aloo masala, chapati and another typical Rajasthani recipe. The best part of this experience was definitely eating what we cooked. It was all so delicious and I hope I can recreate this meal for my family in Brazil. Thank you family! I loved spending this night with you.
You HAVE to take this class. Monty and Harshita are the most amazing hosts, and provide genuine hospitality. They invite you into their home to use their day-to-day kitchen supplies for common meals. I have no skills cooking, so it was incredible to have someone teach me how to prepare amazing meals that weren’t designed for a restaurant with unreasonable supplies. We prepared 5 dishes; Aloo Masala, Dal, Okra, coconut rice, Kheer dessert and the famous chapati. Their home is clean, comfortable, welcoming, and they have a beautiful 1 year old daughter to entertain you as well :)
I had a great time at the cooking class, cooking and learning tips & tricks to cook authentic indian food. They were so friendly and welcoming, I would definitely recommend!
We really enjoyed getting the chance to learn how to cook a couple of indian dishes from an actual Indian family. We liked the multitude of spices used, how they were combined, the carefully shared step by step instructions, tips and advices, but mostly the end to end result and beautiful lunch that we had together with Monty’s family. This is a relaxing and delicious experience that you must try if you are curious about indian cuisine and willing to put your hands at work.
