I was so excited for this workshop! It was hard to find the meeting spot, if it weren’t for a server from the restaurant downstairs. Our instructor was super nice and the entire experience was great. HOWEVER! We went through all the work to make the turkish delights and she even asked what we wanted or didn’t want and ended up not taking the candy! We got a bag with a little box with a completely different type of delights than what we prepared and a lot smaller than what made too. We did not get to keep them

Itinerary
Discover the story behind Turkish Delight and learn how this iconic sweet has been made for centuries. Enjoy a guided cultural session where you watch each step of the lokum-making process, taste three different varieties, and explore its history from the Ottoman Palace to modern Istanbul. During the workshop you will see how the syrup is prepared, how starch is added, and how traditional lokum is shaped and coated. This is a hands-on learning experience, but the lokum made during the session is not consumed or taken home due to the required resting period. At the end of the experience, you will receive a special gift: a 200-gram box of classic Turkish Delight from Hacı Bekir, Istanbul’s oldest and most famous lokum maker (est. 1777). A perfect cultural activity for beginners, food lovers, and anyone curious about Istanbul’s sweet traditions.

Fun experience to take some downtime from sightseeing. The person who led the event was really kind and made the experience memorable.
Jahan was brilliant! She was very clear with instructions and gave us a history of Turkish delight! She made great coffee and showed us how to eat and drink the Turkish way!!! We even got a free coffee drains fortune reading 🤣
Beyza was a wonderful teacher. We loved the whole experience and would do it again. Such fun had learning the history of Turkish Delight and getting to make some.
Wonderful class that not only teaches you how to make Lokum or Turkish Delight. Its an immersion of history, culture and culinary art. Beyza was my teacher and she is phenomenal at what she does. She is highly knowledgeable & professional. She is extremely kind and patient. It was a pleasure learning from her. This is definitely a must try experience while you are in Istanbul.
The class was amazing, we enjoyed everything, we cocked best turksih delight i ever eat. The class was organized, professional . The instructor Ms lina was very keen to make us learn, we got also turkish turkish deligh and coffee cups as gift 😍
Really good experience with Lina :) She was very kind and helpful !
An absolutely wonderful experience, the most authentic I've had in Turkey. I am a american woman traveling with my mother and daughter, and while other tours guides can be hard to understand or condescending, our time with our tour guide Lina was wonderful. Lina had phenomenal English and was easy to understand, and understood what my family was saying immediately, even if we started talking fast or using american slang. We learned about the history of Turkish delight and how to make it on our tour, but I feel confident any other tour with this company would be just as wonderful as ours due to the staff. We got to have our first honest conversation with a woman in Turkey and hear what daily life in Istanbul is really like. For a affordable, delightful, and authentic experience, I would sign up.
Amazing experience, absolutely worth the money, you learn to make Turkish delights while drinking Turkish tea or coffee and enjoying the different kinds of Turkish sweets. Absolutely a must in Istanbul.
My husband and I loved this class! We always like to do cooking classes when we travel and we are very excited to make Turkish delights at home. It’s also nice because it was with a small group, it was hands on, and it lasted about an hour.
This is a great workshop. You first learn what the history of the turkish delight is. The guide knew all our questions. You can taste many different turkish delights! Then the best part: you make them yourself! The guide was suoer friendly and after you get a small gift! Over all a super nice thing to do when in Istanbul.
The Turkish delights workshop was so much fun. The instructor (Lina) is amazing and the international small group (4 in total) was super fun! I highly recommend this experience in Istanbul.
Absolutely loved the session held by Lina 😍 we learned how to make Turkish delights 😍👌🏼 and will definitely be back for more other sessions with them Thanks a lot ♥️
Lina was my guide for this excursion, she had the perfect personality for instructing a cooking class . Funny, patient and encouraging. She was also knowledgeable of the history behind Turkish Delights. This is one of those excursions that I almost glanced over but I’m glad I didn’t. Lina helped make my time in Turkey memorable
We enjoyed this workshop so much and the instructions were clear. Thanks to our instructor, we shared a great couple activity.
Wonderful experience making traditional Turkish delight. Jahan was so wonderful and passionate, the class was very educational. Highly recommend this class, you will love it.
This Turkish Delight class with Lina was the perfect thing to do on a cold, wet day in Istanbul. It was cozy, hands-on, and completely different from anything else I could find, in all the best ways. Lina was incredibly caring and encouraging, even when I made a bit of a mess along the way. She made the whole process feel fun and approachable while sharing the history behind Turkish delight and walking me through each step. Tasting the different varieties was such a treat. And honestly the best part was getting to take Turkish delights home at the end….a souvenir that didn’t last long for the rest of the trip.
It was such a fun workshop. I’ve eaten Turkish Delight but had no idea how to make it. We got to make our own- lots of stirring and it came out delicious! Highly recommend this workshop. Lena was such a good instructor and so sweet. We got little parting gifts as well.😀
Fun, easy and tasty class for our whole group. The facilities were clean and cute. The whole process was professional and well organized. Lina was funny and supportive and a great teacher. We were able to try several different types like pistacchio and rose. Making our own was super fun and easy. Lina made us Turkish coffee while we waited for it to cool and she even gave us some beautiful Turkish coffee cups as gifts, along with some packaged Turkish deligh to take home. Great value for the money and a wonderful way to experience a part of the culture. The location was up a little alley and stairs to a group of art / creative rooms which were really nice. Highly recommend for a fun afternoon about a 15 minute walk from the Blue Mosque area.
We had an amazing Turkish delight making experience. Lina is an excellent teacher that guided us through the process of making our own Lokum with lots of knowledge and wonderful humour. Lots of laughs, and lots of fun. At the end we received a lovely gift to take home. A highlight of our Istanbul holiday. Definately a must if you visit Istanbul.
I had a great experience of making sweets. Lina is excellent teacher with perfect english 👍 Now I now how to do Turkish Delight at home 🤤
I had a great experience with this Turkish Delight workshop! From the very first moment you are taken into the rich history of lokum. The story of more than 250 years old really comes to life and gives so much extra meaning to what you taste and make. The workshop itself is super fun and educational. You get the chance to taste three different, unique varieties of Turkish Delight, each with their own taste and character. In addition, it is extremely special to see the entire traditional preparation process step by step and to experience it yourself. The guidance of a local expert tops it all off: you notice that a lot of passion and knowledge is shared, which makes the experience even more authentic. As icing on the cake, you will also receive a beautiful gift from Hacı Bekir, Istanbul’s oldest pastry chef – a truly beautiful and meaningful finish. In short: an absolute must for anyone who wants to combine culture, history and good food in one unique experience!
very beautiful and highly recommend a different experience 🙂
Hi, thank you! We really had a great time with you today and enjoyed the studio very much. Thank you for the warm and pleasant reception.
This workshop was one of the most vivid experiences of our journey. Lina is a true professional and a very hospitable hostess. She turned the lucum-making process into an exciting journey into Turkish history. We really liked that the class was as practical as possible. Lina explained every nuance so easily that even the newcomers were perfect. The atmosphere in the studio was very warm and friendly. A special thank you for tasting authentic sweets – this helped us develop a taste for a real quality product. If you're looking for a unique cultural experience that combines learning and pleasure, be sure to sign up with Lina. It was educational, delicious and very heartwarming!
