The whole experience was great, was picked up directly from our accommodation. Transport was comfortable. Kadir Kurt was great. His knowledge of the First World War was great, any question I had he knew the answer.

We did a private tour to Gallipoli with Kadir Kurt from Guided Istanbul Tours and it was incredible. Kadir was very knowledgeable, helpful and relaxed, and gave us time to take it all in. We really enjoyed his chilled energy, and he was organised an efficient. Highly recommend.
We couldn’t be more pleased with the service that we received from start to finish! The booking process was clear and easy to complete. But the best part was the day trip itself. Of course, the Gallipoli memorials were very touching and it is a beautiful peninsula. But our tour guide, Muhsin, was excellent! He was very kind and attentive. He did a great job anticipating our needs and questions. He is an absolute encyclopedia of knowledge on every topic/question that we had! Wow! We were so very impressed with him! I give him the highest recommendation possible! Additionally, our driver, Ismail, was outstanding! The sprinter van was spotless inside and out! Most importantly, we felt very safe with the way he drove…and he was knowledgeable about shortcuts to avoid traffic congestion! Thank you both SO much!
Our private tour was fantastic. The guide Muhsin was excellent from before the start. He messaged me the day before to introduce himself and again 10 minutes before he arrived at our apartments to collect us. The vehicle sent was a 15 seater So we had plenty of space to stretch out on the 3.5 hr trip there. His knowledge was fabulous and could answer any questions we had. Both he and the driver were so professional. It is a long 12 hour day but so worth it. It far exceeded our expectations.
What an AMAZING experience. We are brought up in Australia with the history of the ANZACS. To be present and stand in the origin of its beginnings is simply humbling, bewildering and emotionally taxing. Our guide (Kadir Kurt) brought the harrowing six months of Gallipoli as we know it to life with his knowledge and passion. The eleven hour round trip from Istanbul with our private driver and guide sounds daunting but was a dream. Time flew by and ‘Smile’ (our driver) handled the roads like a smiling assassin and kept us on schedule. Lest we forget
Muhsin our guide was very knowledgeable and attentive to our requests. The driver was a very professional and a safe driver. Try to leave as early as possible to beat the traffic. Tour last 12 hours so be prepared . For Australians a must do tour.
It was an excellent tour. The pick up was right on time from our hotel. Our driver was very good. Our guide Mehmet was truly excellent. Knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. I had doubts about the possibility of doing a one day tour from Istanbul to Gallipoli. My doubts were misplaced. I rate our experience highly. It is of course a long day but that is to be expected
We had an incredible experience on the Private Gallipoli Day Tour from Istanbul. The entire day was really well organised, and what made it unforgettable was our wonderful guide, Duygu Belkıs Tankut. Duygu's knowledge of Gallipoli and the ANZAC campaign was exceptional, and her passion for the history made every stop meaningful. Thanks to her extensive knowledge, she also took us to additional sites that other tour groups don't usually visit, such as the grave of John (Kirkpattick) Simpson "Simpson and his Donkey", which made the experience even more special. She also took us to a lovely local restaurant for lunch, adding another wonderful touch to the day. We left with a deeper appreciation of Gallipoli and its significance. We highly recommend this tour, and if you're lucky enough to have Duygu as your guide, you're in for a really memorable experience.
From pick up to drop off, everything ran seemlessly. Baha was an excellent tour guide, knowledgeable, friendly, extremely helpful. He went over & above to ensure we had the experience of a lifetime. Even down to buying spices & recommendations for dinner. Thanks for a wonderful day Baha. Highly recommend.
Well organised and structured day tour from Istanbul to all of the major ANZAC sites on the Gallipoli Peninsula. Clean and modern van with pick up and drop off direct from/to hotel. Made sure to have breaks for drinks and food during the long drive there and back. Sureyya, our English speaking tour guide, was excellent. He provided interesting background on Turkish history and points of interest along the way and was very knowledgeable about the Gallipoli Peninsula. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to do a day trip to Gallipoli from Istanbul.
It’s a very long day but well worth it. The driver and guide did a great job. We were given lots of information and the day was very interesting.
Our tour guide Kadir Kurt, was very knowledgeable and polite and tailored the tour to our needs and timing. Our driver Sercan was experienced professional and polite.
From Aussie 4 this tour, amazing, awesome guide Sebnem, she showed us everything, took photos of us & gave us plenty of time, great driver as well
This was an outstanding experience for the whole family. The tour guide, the tour bus, the tailoring to suit our family, which spanned three generations with different needs and capabilities, and the opportunity to tailor the day to connect with our family history at Gallipoli. So incredibly impressed, and left us all with memories and an incredible experience to hold to for our lifetime. Thank you
spent the day with Volkan as our trusted guide and couldn’t speak highly enough of him. He was extremely knowledgeable of events leading up to and during WW1 with all countries involved in the Gallipoli conflict. His insight into the history of Turkish involvement added to the already emotional experience. We would highly recommend volkan and his team to show you an Anzac experience to remember.Friendly team and prompt responses made it easy to book online. Richard/yasmin
So glad we did a private tour and able to go at our own pace. Highly recommend leaving really learning and getting to the area before the tour bus rush! Our guide was excellent, very informative and was able to accommodate our needs. The only thing is he didn’t introduce himself and had no idea what his name was till I read his name tag. Thank you Volkan and guided Istanbul tours. Brilliant day. Highly recommend
It a must do tour. A very moving and interesting day and giving plenty of reason to reflect on the events that occurred.
Great day tour from Istanbul. Our Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The vehicle was very clean and driver was very good.
We did a day trip from Istanbul to Galipolli and return. It is a very long day but a truely amazing experience. While everyone knows the background and story about the campaign to see the actual location and topography first hand really shows the amazing spirit and tenacity of the ANZAC’s and all other Nations soldiers during the battle. A bucket list must for all Australians. Our guide Sherraia and driver were excellent. Their passion and enthusiasm completed the experience.
This was a vey long day. We were picked up on time. Long drive out. Great guide very informative with good overview of Istanbul and the history of Turkey. Checked in regularly. Enough time to absorb the impact of Gallipoli at each site we visited. Quite thorough and emotionally draining. The only issue was lack of thought about lunch with no real time allowed.
My wife and I we're well looked after on our day out to visit this important Anzac site. A few teething problems with the in vehicle communications equipment was overcome relatively quickly. Safe driving, at ease nature of our guide and a continuous supply of cool bottled water are cornerstones to a road trip tour - these were all met to a high standard.
Communications were excellent from start to finish, guide was friendly and informative and driver great, especially as he had such a long day in extreme heat. The drive out was amazing as you really saw more of Turkey than just the big, sprawling city of Istanbul. The landscape certainly changed and our guide was informative about the people, the land and sone history for context as we moved through the beautiful countryside. The Gallipoli portion of our trip was great, our guide, Mustie, was great, loads of information and really helped set the scene for events that unfolded during WW1 and the loss of so many lives on both sides of the invasion. One thing WE as a group felt didn’t need to be included, and WE didn’t add value to the trip, was the 2 hour detour via ferry across the river to see the Trojan horse and to have lunch. It was a rush! Lunch was a rush and there was nothing really to see as the horse was from a movie set. We had already suggested before we set off we thought maybe it wasn’t necessary but we were convinced by our guide it would be disappointing if we didn’t and the best place for lunch was there also. After we got back to our ship we chatted to other passengers who’d been there and they had been taken to a museum which would have added so much more value to the experience. They were also taken to see the grave of Simpson and his donkey, said they had a lovely lunch in the small town of Eceabat. Eceabat is where the reenactment scenes from the war were, which was excellent! This gave you an incredible picture of how close the combatants were to each other and the brutality of the war effort. The trip was supposed to be 8 till 8 but traffic coming back into Istanbul was horrendous! Could be Saturday night thing as there were so many people out enjoying themselves in parks etc. traffic we know can’t be controlled by the tour operator but if we’d have known we may have bought dinner for the ride back. All in all a good day, but we would suggest, if you are taking this tour, not to be convinced to take the ferry ride across the river and back as it added nothing at all to the trip, and your time could be better spent at the museum we didn’t get to see, or one of the other cemeteries our other friends visited.
This was an amazing experience. Ekram was knowledgeable about the area and accommodating with my husband who gets car sick when not driving. The experience ia something every Australian must do and doing it as a private tour is so worth it Pro tip leave as early as you can and then you get to see the locations before all the other tours get there. It was truly amazing to be the only ones at the sites
We had a fantastic day trip for our family of 4 with a great driver and extremely knowledgeable and helpful guide Mustafa. We were collected promptly by our driver in our clean and spacious Mercedes van at 8am from our hotel, before picking up Mustafa en route. Mustafa pointed out sites on the trip and outlined Istanbuls uniqueness and history as a city. With experience as a qualified guide, great English and a history including living in Australia we were able to learn so much, including our two younger teens appreciating the stories. We were able to tailor the trip as we went, stopping for regular toilet breaks in quality roadhouses Mustafa knew. We even took the ferry over from Ecebat to Çanakkale, and our guide took us to a great traditional restaurant for lunch that we never would have found alone. We then visited numerous sites in the ANZAC cove area, hearing the full history of WW1 significance at each stop. After a long hot day, made more comfortable by endless complimentary water bottles in the fridge of the van, we headed back to Istanbul, arriving at our hotel at around 8.30pm. A fantastic day we will all never forget. This is a must do trip and highly valuable for Aussie travellers. Worth every cent! Lest we Forget. 🇦🇺
I would highly recommend this day trip to anyone with an interest in the history of Anzac Cove, WW1 Gallipoli, which is of particular interest as an Australian. Our guide Ekram was very knowledgeable and informative and provided us with extra information and visuals to help us understand both sides of this story. We appreciated Ekram’s excellent English and his openness to accommodate us during the day. We chose the private option which suited us as we felt we saved a lot of time compared to a big bus tour, so for us the $$ outlay was money well spent. We organised this tour very last minute and Guided Istanbul Tours were very quick to respond and made it easy for us to organise. Our driver Secran did an excellent job and made it very easy for us. Overall this was a long day but we are very happy that we organised the day with Guided Istanbul and in particular Ekram- who would be great for the day tours in Istanbul too.
I don’t know where to start, our guide was a man called Mustafa Dogan. There were 6 of us on the tour and we had the most AMAZING day - very long day! The mini bus and driver… absolutely fabulous. Very comfortable for such a long day, wifi on board the bus, unlimited chilled water, very courteous driver, USB’s for charging and more importantly fabulous AIR CONDITIONER… because it was extremely hot. The guide and tour - no words can describe how fantastic it was. Mustafa went absolutely over and beyond for us. Perfect English as he has spent a lot of his live in Australia and now lives in Turkey. He gave us more than the itinerary.. took us on a ferry across the Dardanelles, took us to eat traditional food - ordering everything they had for us and super cheap. Went to everywhere on the itinerary and it was amazing! We could not recommend highly enough! We will never ever forget the experience - or Mustafa and his knowledge! Thank you thank you thank you
We took this private full day tour at the end of May. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about Turkish history and experience during the Gallipoli campaign as well as the Anzacs. The transport was comfortable and driver very safe. It is a long day, we were picked up in Istanbul at 7.30 am, and returned at 5.30pm, however well worth it in our opinion. We liked having the personalised and flexible services of a private tour.
It was certainly worth taking the private day tour to Gallipoliand the surrounding sites. Sercan was a great and knowledgeable guide. I valued the flexibility of being alone and being able to say how long I wanted to spend somewhere. Quite an emotional experience. I highly recommend this tour and guide
It was an incredibly moving and emotional experience and we were all thrilled to have been able to have the opportunity to share it. Our guide Ekrem was superb, knowledgeable and informative and the trip was made better with his humour and he looked after us well. The driver was awesome, dealing with some very gnarly city traffic to get us there and back safely. A very highly recommended trip for any Anzac tourist
Great tour, the guide spoke good English and was very informative. It was a long drive from Istanbul, however the vehicle was very comfortable.
The transport was very comfortable, so convenient having g wifi access. The driver stopped regularly for breaks. Volkan was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about Gallipoli and Australia’s involvement. It was so helpful to hear the story from Turkey’s perspective and to walk through the sites as he told the stories. It was hot but he found shady spots, moved us along gently when we needed to get to the next place. Highly recommend this tour. Great English. And he found a very affordable but tasty place for lunch.
Guide, driver and tour all outstanding. Interactive experience highlighting both ANZAC and Turkish perspectives. Very comfortable drive, time to explore and great community location for seafood lunch albeit a little later in day.
It is a long drive to Troy and Gallipoli, the comfortable minivan was good. The driver and guide Volkan ensured we had enough bathroom and lunch breaks. We visited Troy on the first day, which meant we visited the Gallipoli WW1 sites earlier the next day as the weather was hot. Volkan had a wealth of knowledge and was adept at arranging visits to the various Gallipoli sites avoiding buses and crowds. A memorable couple of days.
Long day and difficult for the guide to keep engaging us but worth doing. Once in a lifetime experience that all Australians should try and do.
Gallipoli is a long way from Istanbul and we only had the day to travel down to see it and pay homage to our fallen heros. Guided tours Istanbul picked us up at our hotel at 7.30am and returned us at 8pm.. We travelled in a luxurious vehicle and what Mustafa our guide didn’t know about Turkey and particularly the allied offensive at ANZAC cove wasn’t worth knowing. It was a faultless day that we would do again in a heart beat. Our thanks go to Mustafa for making it a day we will always remember.
Very good guide, a very well organized tour. The site of Troy a little abandoned, other than that an interesting experience
