We really enjoyed this tour, it was professional, punctual and well organised. Our Gallipoli guide on Day 1 was knowledgeable and personable, taking us through many sobering sites and memorials. A moving and memorable experience we won’t forget. The hotel in Çanakkale was excellent and centrally located, allowing time to explore the city during our free morning. Day 2 at Troy, was interesting and again well organised but expect a long day, with return to hotel around 10pm. Overall, a worthwhile experience, with Gallipoli being the highlight.

Crowded House Tour provided the service professionally with well organized logistics with punctual pick up and drop off. Tour guides are knowledgeable. Tourists just need be conscious of potentially swapping buses at Canakkale office that juggles tourists visiting different sites in the region such as Gallipoli and Troy. It’s not a worry as the arrangements are seemless and no single issue was spotted in my two day tour.
Ramizan, from Crowded House handled everything via email & responded promptly to our requests pre-trip. Tour guide “Sam” on day one was excellent on our trip to Troy. Day two, Ibrahim was our guide for the British & international, & Anzac sectors of the Gallipoli peninsular. Two of us had relatives who died there. Ibrahim went out of his way to show us as much relevant information as was possible in relation to headstone, cemetery & name recorded on the Helles memorial. Thankyou Ibrahim for bringing history alive for us on such a memorable day.
Excellent 2 day trip to Troy, Heles Memorial & Gallipoli sites. The organisation was spot on & guides were knowledgeable. It was great to send a night at Canakkale too & the hotel was very good. Highly recommend Crowded House tours.
This was an unforgettable experience and easily one of the highlights of our trip to Turkey. Visiting Gallipoli as an Australian was incredibly moving. Standing in the places we had learnt about growing up gave us a completely different appreciation of what the ANZACs, and indeed all the soldiers who fought there, endured. What struck us most was the terrain. Seeing it firsthand made it almost impossible to comprehend how young men could have fought under such unbelievably difficult conditions. It was emotional, humbling and something that will stay with us for a very long time. Spending the night in Çanakkale was a wonderful contrast. It is a beautiful place to stay and gave us the opportunity to pause and take in everything we had experienced that day before continuing on to Troy. Visiting Troy the following day was equally fascinating for completely different reasons. Walking through the site and seeing the nine different layers of Troy's evolution was extraordinary. It really brought home that Troy wasn't simply one ancient city, but a place that was repeatedly built, changed and rebuilt over thousands of years. Combining the emotional history of Gallipoli with the ancient history of Troy made this a very special experience. Highly recommended, particularly for Australians visiting Turkiye
Exceptionally knowledgeable guide as well as deeply moving experienceto stand in the shoes of those that gave all for us
First day was long, but soooo worth it. The Gallipoli tour guide Bullant was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The hotel in Canakkale was in the most perfect location (4*) and it was a real quaint village feel. Troy ok and arrived back in Istanbul 2 hours before expected.
We had such a lovely experience visiting Canakklale, ANZAK and Troy with Burak. He was engaging, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable, and made the tour feel very personal and special. On a private tour day he shared so many interesting stories and insights that really brought the history to life, especially V- Beach. The whole experience was relaxed, engaging, and memorable. A big thank you to Burak for his time, knowledge, and warmth — we really appreciated it and it uplifted our experience! Declan&Bilge
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour, especially the tour of Gallipoli and our guide Burak who was a fountain of knowledge! He is obviously proud of his vocation and he provided us with great insight which he delivered with passion and objectivity. Burak has a great sense of humour and related with each individual on the tour, engaging with them and showing a keen interest in getting to know them. The accommodation at the Artur Hotel was good. The tour of Gallipoli is one of the best experiences we have had and Burak was a significant reason for this. Our guide for Troy and Bergama was Ahmed and he also provided great insight and knowledge into these areas. Ahmed also related very well with the individuals on that part of the tour.
Commenting specifically on Crowded House guide Burak who led our small group Gallipoli tour. We are interested in conflict history and have toured many of the worlds modern war sites. Burak is the best guide we've experienced. His extensive depth of knowledge both of the battles and the wider geopolitical context, his energy, enthusiasm and engagement, was a wonder to behold on this very hot day. Ours was a mixed group of Aussies and Kiwis and he took us to all of the sites significant to both nations. Applying his detailed knowledge of where ANZAC contingents were deployed, he got us very close to the exact spot where our grandfather was seriously wounded. He is personable, has a great sense of humour and lines of banter but was also sensitive to the deeply moving effect on us of sombre locations such as Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair. We never felt rushed or bombarded with too much information. He encouraged questions and discussion and seemed genuinely interested in stories descendants of veterans had about their family members experience there in 1915. The only negative of this excellent day was Crowded House's organisation and communication of transfer arrangements, which could do with some improvement.
The tour was excellent. Our guide explained the area from both the Turkish commanders actions and also the allied soldiers. All the information was respectful and the areas treated with consideration for those who lost their lives
Great value for money, very well organised from start to end. Professional, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Nothing to hard for them. Nice accommodation and supplied meals. I've done alot of tours over my travel time would 100% recommend Crowded House Tours
This was an amazing experience. From hotel pick up through drop off, everything was well organized and seamless. The tour guides were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their areas of expertise, and their enthusiasm was infectious! It was 100% worth the trip from Istanbul, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with this company again!
This was an amazing trip, we came from NZ to see Anzac Cove and all the other sites associated with Gallipoli. The tour Guide we had from Crowded House tours Burak was a very knowledgeable guy. Has obviously researched every piece of information in regards to the war. He has taken the time to get to know all the kiwi and Aussie banter, rivalry and was very cool and funny on the tour. Highly recommend this tour and we stayed overnight in the Artur hotel , which was amazing. Troy was great too, Sam did a great commentary. Rosemary Rakich
Couldn't have asked for a more well organised and informative tour. We did the Gallipoli/Troy/Boat cruise package and every single thing went smoothly. Even from the initial enquiry; communication was quick and responsive. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and more than happy to share their knowledge will everyone. We could not recommend more highly and will definitely be booking more tours with Crowded House Tours. Steve
We really enjoyed our trip to Gallipoli and Troy. Both our tour guides were great our overnight accommodation was good and although the trip is a little long everything went to plan and we were so happy for the experience. Highly recommend it 🤗
Cannakale town was terrific as was the Hotel Artur
Ramazzan was great to work with as I booked this tour and had many questions to customize the Gallipoli portion as a private tour for my husband and me. Our two guides, Hasan for Troy and Barak as our private Gallipoli guide, were absolutely outstanding. The entire two days were smooth and seamless from the transportation to meals and hotel. I highly recommend Crowded House as your Canakkale tour agency.
We did the 2 day tour of Gallipoli and Troy. From the start everything went like clockwork. There waa great communication from the tour company. We were picked up and dropped of at our hotel. Our guide for Gallipoli was named Ibrahim and he was extremely knowledgeable and inclusive of everyone. Gallipoli was a surreal experience to say the least. It was interesting and thankfully with the weather in the high 30s we did not have to walk too far with the bus dropping us at each site. Following the tour we were taken to the ferry port and accompanied to Canakkale. Ibrahim wheeled my very heavy case for me and we were escorted to a nice hotel near the port. Spending the night and next morning in this lovely town was an absolute bonus!! Around lunchtime we were picked up and our guide for Troy was Borak. He was extremely funny and entertaining but also extremely knowledgeable about the history and current excavations happening in Troy. I would recommend this tour to anyone. The company and guides are extremely professional and on the ball
Great way to see Gallipoli & Troy. The overnight option in the beautiful seaside town was an unexpected highlight. Operator was excellent, high quality vehicles, professional guides and a well organised schedule. Highly recommended.
Hassan was a great guide and super knowledgeable, would 100% recommend. Well worth the money and very well organised.
Well planned and professionally organized. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The event ran smoothly. It was a great experience, and I would highly recommend it.
Very knowledgeable guides. Well organised. Ask for an itinerary, because not much is divulged beforehand.
Very good - Hassan the guide on Gallipoli was very thorough and took on some myths about Gallipoli but in a researched and thought provoking manner. Our trip to Troy was equally thorough and detailed with David. The overnight stay was at a good hotel so all over a very good experience and I would highly recommend it.
I highly recommend choosing the 2-night option—it’s quite a long journey to and from Istanbul, but definitely worth it. Çanakkale is a lovely place to stay overnight. High praise to the tour guides on both days, especially Charlie—it was such an enjoyable experience listening to the tales of Troy. He was an intriguing storyteller: fun, engaging, and, most importantly, fluent in English, making history and legends easy to understand.
Excellent 2 Day Tour, brilliant sights, brilliant tour guides, Burak our tour guide in Gallipoli was excellent, saw many wonderful sights, would definitely recommend going on this tour.
Amazing 2 day tour, saw many sights in Gallipoli, canakkale and Troy, the guides were excellent, Burak in the Gallipoli tour was excellent, would definitely recommend going on this tour if you're visiting Istanbul.
An altogether seamless trip, which was very well organised with superb, knowledgeable and friendly helpful guides- Charles(?) who was our guide for Gallipoli was especially good. The hotel in Çanakkale was lovely and the guide who took us there on the ferry told us bars, restaurants etc to go to. Would definitely use again if ever visiting in the future.
We had an incredible 2-day experience, starting with a 6:30 AM pickup from Istanbul. We traveled on a minibus (17 passengers in a 20-seater), with a 45-minute stop for coffee at a gas station about 2.5 hours into the journey. After another 2.5 hours, we arrived at our starting point, checked in, and had lunch before heading to Gallipoli around 12:30 PM. While not far distance-wise, the Gallipoli tour lasted 3 hours, and offered a look at the many battlefields and cemeteries. It was a moving, especially for the Australians in our group. The highlight was definitely our guide, Chuck. He possessed incredible historical knowledge, balancing detailed history with independent time. He read the group well and added warm-hearted insights throughout. We arrived back at the check-in point around 5 PM and took the ferry over to Asia, where we had from 5:30 PM until 12:30 PM the next day to explore on our own. Our hotel, the Artur, was better than expected and in a perfect location. The only minor improvement would be the breakfast, which was somewhat lackluster (though perhaps just cultural). At 12:30 PM on the second day, we met our next guide for the tour of Troy. I loved his storytelling, like Chuck, he found the right balance and provided fascinating theories. I can best describe exploring Troy as being like visiting Pompeii and learning history through the excavations. This tour felt shorter but was still well worth it. We left around 3:30 PM to catch the ferry back, boarded the bus to Istanbul, took a 30-minute break, and returned to our hotel around 8:30 PM. Overall, this was an excellent "off the beaten path" excursion. While you could do it on your own, the tour company handled every detail.
We absolutely loved our entire tour. Cindy was an amazing guide, not only did she have a great command of English, she had a great sense of humour and explained everything with such a beautiful passion . She truly made our tour unforgettable . We loved both Tours and really enjoyed our stay in Cannakale along with ferry ride.all so very well organized , great staff and awesome drivers. Thank-you for showing us the beauty and richness of Turkeye
Highly recommend the 2 day with 1 overnight night stay tours of Gallipoli and Troy. Our tours this week were enjoyable, seemless and flawless from start to finish. We were picked up from our hotel in Istanbul by minibus with other passengers and had a delightful short stop for breakfast half way to Eceabat. Once there we visited the Crowded House office for a few minutes before a short walk to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch (included). We enjoyed a short break after lunch to explore the war memorials and seafront in Eceabat. Then we met our informative and experienced guide Burak for our tour of Gallipoli who shared a lot of knowledge, stories, history and information on the area. After this tour Burak took us on the ferry to Cannakale and another guide Serhat walked us a few minutes to our hotel near the seafront. We arrived at our hotel around 5.30pm giving us enough time to explore, have dinner and enjoy an early night. The next day we had free time in the morning and then we met our guide Hasan on the minibus to take us to nearby Troy for a tour of the archaeological site. Hasan was also very experienced and knowledgeable and brought the area to life with his stories. After this tour we were taken to Cannakale ferry to cross back over to Eceabat to take the minibus back to Istanbul. We stopped at another delightful restaurant to enjoy a quick dinner before arriving back at our hotel in Istanbul in the evening. We had a young child with us and Burak and Hasan kept him engaged and interested throughout both tours and we all learned a lot. We met several drivers and many staff at the Crowded House Tours office and they were all welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They are a first class company and can highly recommend them. We will certainly return to enjoy their other tours.
The tour could not have been better. The hotel overnight was 5 star. All connections and transport were seamless and on time. Transport was very clean. The best part was the professional tour guide. So much knowledge and expertise. We wanted to break up the tour into 2 days to really explore and enjoy the trip. The drive from Istanbul is 4 to 5 hours. It can be done in a single day but its a very long trip. Recommend breaking up the tour as the overnight hotel is at a gorgeous seaside town. Day 2 at Troy wax well worth doing as well.
Greatest tour I ever been on. Would go back. In depth tour of what happened. More casualties at Gallipoli than at Normandy
Cindy our super sonic guide made the whole experience informative and entertaining.
This was a must for a couple of New Zealanders. We had Barack as a guide to Gallipoli and WOW, so much passion so much knowledge and great banta with the Aussies and Kiwi’s. It was great to have the morning to explore and have look around. Big travel with early morning but worth it.
I could not recommend this tour more highly to my fellow countrymen and Kiwis. Our tour guide Baruk, (apologies if I’ve spelt this wrong, which I probably have), was just awesome! So incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the place, friendly, funny and cheeky AF. I swear this bloke is half Aussie. Really well done guys. Lest we forget.
The tour of Gallipoli was incredible. Our guide, Hassan, was extremely knowledgeable, kind, patient, entertaining and went the extra mile to make the trip memorable. Could not have asked for better. Jack the driver was safe and efficient (and patient). It was good to spend the night in Cannakale as it gave some free time and downtime. Next day we to Troy but had the morning free to wander. Well worth seeing with another very well informed guide. Highly recommend the experience.
Fantastic experience. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and we had a fabulous time. Would highly recommend this tour
Very well organized trip thank you, great accommodation. What else can I say, very informative guides. I learned a lot.
These guys are excellent. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and great with questions. They all seem to really enjoy their work and their life here. The Gallipoli Peninsula and Çanakkale and Eceabat are beautiful.
Our Tour Guide Borat was Awesome!! Outstanding historical knowledge & information. Great sense of humor. As an Aussie, my husband & I have dreamed of coming to Anzac Cove for years, and have seen the memorial services on tv, but that doesn’t prepare your for the overwhelming emotion of the battle graveyards. Would strongly recommend to any Aussie wanting a memorable experience.
Our tour guide and driver were most welcoming and did a great job of making our tour a special experience of the Gallipoli campaign including Anzac Cove & Cape Helles. We are amateur history buffs who were able to learn so much from our tour guide Ibrahim whose knowledge we found extremely informative. We were able to visit all the places we hoped to see and were introduced to some we didn’t know existed. A most personal approach.
What an amazing experience. Tours guides are fantastic with so much knowledge of Gallipoli n Troy. Everyone is so friendly n helpfull. Would highly recommend booking with them
Gallipolli tour was excellent and guide was fantastic Troy visit was ok however the site has been neglected and needs to be supported with funds to ensure the history of the site is more memorable
Extremely knowledgable, friendly and informative guides. Primary reason was to visit the Gallipoli campaign sites. Very moving and pack a lot into the day but did not seem rushed. Would have loved to stay longer to take in more of the history of this region in Turkey. Will recommend to our friends.
This was a really well coordinated tour. Everything was organised and on time. The mini van was comfortable and clean. The driver was safe and abided by the speed limit which is rare! The guides were knowledgeable.
We had an outstanding experience on our tour with Crowded House Tours. The first day guided by the exceptional Hasan, his deep knowledge of the campaign, paired with a warm, friendly manner and sharp sense of humour, made the day both engaging and enlightening. Hasan’s commitment to ongoing research really stood out — he continually updates his understanding of the battlefields and is passionate about dispelling common myths, ensuring we left with a more accurate and respectful appreciation of the history. An unforgettable and enriching experience. The next day we visited Troy with our guide, Simge. Her passion for the ancient city was evident from the start, bringing the ruins and their stories vividly to life. Simge’s depth of knowledge and ability to explain the complex layers of Troy’s history in an engaging and accessible way made the experience both educational and captivating. Her enthusiasm was infectious, leaving us with a deeper appreciation for the site and its enduring significance. Everything was well organised and well priced we wouldn't hesitate to use Crowded House again the future.
The tour was a small group, which meant we could visit more sites and ask questions. For the Gallipoli tour, the guide was knowledgeable and had been doing this for 15 years, so he knew the history. The time at each stop was just right except for North Beach, where, as an Australian, there was a weight and sense of history that needed a bit more than 10 mins to absorb. Other than that, it was an excellent tour. The Troy tour was also excellent with a knowledgeable and experienced guide and a small group that made the tour enjoyable.
This was a brilliant tour Crowded House tours are extremely efficient and the guide Hassan was incredible with his knowledge and empathy
The trip was not only well organised but well paced.Gallipoli was well explained from the perspective of both sides which gave a real sense of the horror of the campaign.Likewise at Troy the different layers of the time periods were made clear.would have liked some time at the new Troy museum .pickup transport and accomodation was al very good
