Aisha is a fabulous guidé. We were with her in January and when we booked again we requested her.

The Taste of Two Continents food tour begins in Istanbul’s Old City. There, we meet to begin our tour in the heart of Eminönü, close to Spice Market.
Market Sourced Turkish Breakfast: Visit a breakfast market in the morning and gather an assortment of Turkish breakfast items, including cheeses, buffalo cream, hazelnut paste, honey, olives, dried beef pastrami, simit, and enjoy it all with traditional Turkish tea & menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs) at a local tea house. Listen to your guide’s entertaining & interesting stories about culture and daily life in Turkey while wondering if this could be your favorite breakfast ever.
Cross the mighty Bosphorus by ferry to explore the more modern and chic area of Kadıköy, on the Asian side. Kadıköy is home to some of the best local restaurants in Istanbul, frequented a new generation of Turks who love to dine out, while still savouring the flavours of their childhood.
You will nibble, sip and munch your way through the local Kadıköy market while your guide explains the colorful stalls and products. You'll want to bring your cameras out here to capture all the vibrancy that makes up the flavors of Turkish cuisine!
As you make your way through the colorful streets of Kadıköy market, you’ll sip on freshly brewed Turkish coffee while delighting in locally-made crispy golden baklava. You’ll savor the delicious tastes of popular street foods like dolma, tantuni, and kokoreç, as well as other local favourites.

Bahri was amazing, knowledgeable and we tried so many unexpected things! We were soooo full by the end but had to taste everything. Trip to the market to get olives cheeses and meats to have at our brekqst spot. Turkish coffee and tea. Sweets, muscles with rice, lentil or beef soup, donor kebap, breads galore. History of each place thoughtfully handpicked, great choices we would not have found on our own.
Selen was the ideal tour guide! She led us to several wonderful local spots to explore Turkish food, exactly as we hoped, but more than that, she incorporated her archaeological background to teach us about the history and culture that drove the food we ate. I didn’t expect so much depth out of this tour! It was such a treat to have left the tour with full stomachs and expanded minds. And of course, I would take a truckload of that katmer home with me if I could!
Fantastic tour. Don’t eat beforehand. You will see the sights and eat well. Our guide Kaan was very knowledgeable and took good care of us
A very good tour with plenty of food and walking. Starts in the old city on the European side and after a couple of stops you go by ferry across to Kadikoy on the Asian side for most of the tour. The tour ends at the Kadikoy ferry stop where the guide pays for your ferry if needed.
Great tour-lots of stops with many different Turkish foods to try. Highly recommend! Knowledgeable and fun tour guide.
Our guide, Selen, was very knowledgeable and made the experience more than just about the food. She gave us very important historical and cultural information to place the dishes into the evolution of the city and how and why they enjoy the immense array of available foods. From breakfast to dessert the tour was informative, interesting and tasty - come hungry because there are many, many stops with plenty of time to enjoy the dishes, take a break and get answers to your questions. We can’t even remember the variety, all of which we enjoyed (but for the pickle juice 😮) We can’t thank Selen enough for a wonderful day.
Wonderful experience! Excellent food and great people everywhere – and the whole tour is topped off by Ashley – she is an amazing tour guide - I recommend you go HUNGRY! I felt it was good value for money
This was a true highlight during our time in Istanbul. Ali was our guide, and he was amazing. We loved wandering around the city, seeing different sights and learning some of the history while trying amazing foods. Highly recommend! It was the perfect way to spend half the day.
Enjoyed this tour of the Spice Bazaar and so many great tastes of Istanbul on both sides of the Bosphorus! From breakfast foods and local teas and coffees to two lunches, including a spectacular doner kebab, with stops for olives, pickled delicacies, Turkish-spiced soups, street foods like fresh mussels, and tea/coffee, wow, it was a lot of good stuff. We especially liked the tour of the Kadikoy district—sort of like an up-and-coming Brooklyn. Our "Yummy Istanbul" tour guide was engaging, informative, enthusiastic, and helpful. He got our group (one couple in their 60s and two families of four) around to all his stops very efficiently and safely. Gave us lots of good tips on things to see around the area. It was a great way to spend an October Friday in Istanbul.
Ok, some people say they love their job. Some people pretend to enjoy what they do. Then others exude joy in every step. Ali is the joyful type. This food tour is perfect: perfect size group, 10; perfect timing 9:30-2:30; perfect mix between walking, cultural learning, and eating. Breakfast, lunch, muscles, the best icecream, baklava, and Salep: A warming, creamy milk drink traditionally thickened with orchid-root powder and served with cinnamon. Come to meet Ali and stay for the Salep. Ask for Ali. Five Stars.

Tour was informative and delicious! Selen, our guide, was so kind and knowledgeable— very lucky to have had her as our guide.
This experience was a feast of delicious food as well as insight into Istanbul’s history and Turkish culture. Ayberk was a fantastic guide! The pacing was perfect—slowly strolling and chatting and never feeling rushed. A fun variety of food was chosen and shared at notable locations. The whole day will surely be a highlight of our time in Istanbul!
Great way to experience many foods and the history behind them. Nice to get a feel for local delicacies.
Great day food tasting , make sure you’re hungry before you come on this tour.we sampled so many different foods from savoury to sweet
A wonderful tour and would highly recommend to friends traveling to Istanbul! Mostly on the Asia side (which I preferred) and we did not go hungry! The food was amazing and kept coming - worth every penny! I even have a Gluten allergy and our guide Kaan was so accommodating and found me substitute food so I never felt like I missed out. A great experience to learn about Turkish Culture and Food!!
This food tour was a highlight of our trip - our guide Selen was amazing and the food was fantastic.
We took the Yummy Foods tour with Ali and he was a fantastic guide! Very personable, knowledgeable, and organized. We started off with a traditional Turkish breakfast and tour of the Spice Bazaar which was a good crash course to help us navigate the rest of our Turkey trip. We followed it up with an Iskander kebab, sweet and savory pastries, stuffed mussels, Turkish ice cream, and more. I was full by the end of the tour! I enjoyed the opportunity to take the ferry across the Bosphorus to tour the Asian side of Istanbul. Without a guide, I wouldn’t know where to go. This was the first activity we did when we landed in Turkey and the perfect way to kick off the trip to understand Turkish cuisine.
Fantastic food tour! Our guide, Bahri, was patient, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. We enjoyed a wonderful variety of delicious local foods with fascinating history and cultural insights shared at every stop. It was a great way to experience Istanbul beyond the typical tourist attractions. Highly recommend this tour, especially with Bahri as your guide!
Come hungry, be prepared to do some walking and to learn a lot about Turkish culture. The Spice Bazaar was fascinating and the ferry ride was great.
Very Good, it is worth your time to go on this trip you learn so much and experience Istanbul from a local perspective. The food is amazing and paced very well.
This was honestly one of the best food tours I’ve ever been on! We got to try so many different foods, and I loved the variety of everything we tasted. Breakfast was especially amazing and such a great way to start the experience. Every stop offered something different, and it was a wonderful way to experience Istanbul’s food scene beyond the typical tourist restaurants. Come hungry because they definitely don’t skimp on the food! By the end of the tour, I was absolutely stuffed and couldn’t imagine eating another bite. Overall, such a fun and delicious experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Istanbul!
Excelente experience we learning about the dishes
Fantastic tour and great way to orientate yourself to the city its food and transport. Our guide Ali was knowledeable and friendly.
We had a fantastic food and spice tour with Ali, who was incredibly knowledgeable and great fun. There were around nine people in our group, and we started off in the morning at a coffee shop before wandering around and collecting a variety of delicious Turkish breakfast treats. We picked up fresh simit (traditional Turkish bread) and all sorts of delicious things to enjoy with it, including different cheeses, tomato paste and olives. We also tried proper Turkish coffee, delicious creamy and crunchy hazelnut spreads similar to Nutella, and kaymak, a rich, creamy Turkish clotted cream served with honey. There were so many wonderful flavours to try! After breakfast, we continued exploring, including a walk through the Spice Bazaar, where we discovered and smelled the most incredible variety of spices. There were peppery aromas, fragrant floral spices and so many other wonderful scents that made the experience a real treat for the senses. Ali was informative, enthusiastic and great company throughout the tour. He took us to various places, shared his knowledge and made the whole experience both enjoyable and interesting. It was a wonderful way to explore Istanbul’s food culture and discover flavours and places we might not otherwise have found on our own. Highly recommended if you want to experience Istanbul through its food, markets and local culture!
Excellent guide. Great strategy to start with food tour first day and learn all about the area
Great guide, great food, wonderful way to go behind the scenes in Istanbul! Definitely a must! Do it!
Turc, our tour guide was amazing! Very knowledgeable and entertaining. Lots of food so definitely go hungry! Enjoyed tasting on two continents! Very enjoyable and would recommend!
Our guide was the best. She was knowledgeable, funny, and very engaging. She directed us to the best food tasting we ever had!
It was a wonderful day. So Much to process and so Many wonderful new tastes and experiences. And we got to put our feet in Asian, a first first for us.
The tour that I did with Yummy Istanbul was great! Ayberk is such a knowledgeable guide and knew his stuff really well. We covered so much grounds, and the food selection was perfect. His knowledge of history is also a plus, especially when covering areas on the European side. The group also had great conversations with Ayberk and among ourselves. The pace was also great, we were not rushed at all. It is so well organized and you get to taste everything from turkish delight, iskander kebab to midye dolma, among many others (I don't want to spoil the great list). Highly recommended when visiting Istanbul!
We started at 12 noon with breakfast. Delicious Then we went to the spice bar and he explained everything and why you use it. The food was wonderful. The sight seeing was great. The ferry to the Asian side was beautiful. The food was terrific and we left very full I’d highly recommend this tour
This was a fun tour with a lot of exposure to the city and some great bites in a super accessible way! The guide, Ashley, was also incredible!
Enjoyed the tour. There were many great foods to sample on both the EU and Asian sides. Tunç was a great guide! Very knowledgeable and entertaining!
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!! Must do in Istanbul and would do it again.
Bari (sp?) was a very knowledgeable guide. Not only was he a fountain of facts regarding the foods we tasted but he also gave us great tourist tips. The selection of the foods we tasted were very diverse and went beyond expectations. Enjoyed spending a lot of time in Kadikoy
Feyza was as amazing guide - so knowledgeable about food and where it is produced across Turkiye. We had a wonderful day sampling a wide range of foods we would never have ordered as a full meal or dessert. And we loved almost all of them.
This tour covered it all: many locations, types of food, great guide. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Come hungry!
Just back from a wonderful 5-1/2 hours with Ayberk - who was an absolutely fantastic guide. Great way to spend our first day in Istanbul! We tried delicious food(s) and had very full bellies. Communication between the provider and Ayberk was wonderful. Very glad we chose this experience!!!
This was a fabulous day out and we seemed visit lots of different areas of Istanbul The spice market on the European side was amazing as was our breakfast Headed over to the Asian side for the rest of the tour and we visited a wide variety of eateries and some street food - all delicious ! Tunc , our guide, was terrific - a very knowledgeable foodie who had some great information and recommendations Lots of variety and the best Icecream in Istanbul to finish off Highly recommend
An excellent day of walking and tasting the food and treats. Included all the old town places including the Spice Market, an d then a ferry over to the Asian side ro where the locals eat. A nice group of people and Selen was a delightful tour guide.
Th taste of two Continents tour was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of food and drinks selections. Appreciated the chance to experience the unique local culture and different neighbourhoods. Ashley is brilliant, knowledgeable, friendly and fun! We had a fantastic time with her.
Great tour, experienced both sides of the Bosphourous, mostly on Asian side. So many variety’s of food, all very good. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the different foods we had. I would recommend this tour to anyone in Istanbul if you have the time.
Excellent tour with an excellent host, Barih from Izmir, who was extremely knowledgeable and full of history. All of the stops had different specialties, all delicious. And for the last stop (ice cream and baklava) Barih had arranged birthday cake for my wife and another lady who had the same birthday. We did not have to eat dinner that evening after it. So highly recommended.
Our guide Selel was so entertaining and knowledgeable. All of the food was so delicious. The group was small enough so that we could all get to know each other. It was a long day but it flew by. This tour is a must for any foodies in Istanbul.
I thought this tour was quite poor value for money, and I wish we’d tried one of the cheaper options available. The tour lasts around 5–6 hours, largely because of the time spent travelling back and forth on the ferry. Although the breaks between stops were nice, I wasn’t particularly impressed with the quality of the food. We were easily able to eat dinner afterwards, which I hadn’t expected, as I thought the food provided would be more substantial. Overall, I felt there were better-value options available and wouldn’t choose this tour again.
Our food tour with Ayberk was the highlight of our trip to Istanbul. The food was amazing, our guide so knowledgeable and he paced the tour just perfectly. Love, love, loved it!
We had such a great food tour with Ayberk! It was a full day of authentic Turkish food, starting with a traditional breakfast, to a final dessert and coffee. We learned so much about Turkish cuisine and the history behind it. Ayberk was fun, friendly and professional. Unlike other food tours we have done other places, there was no expectation that you would sample and then be expected to buy something at each stop. It was strictly eating and enjoying the food of Istanbul. What a great experience! Thank you Ayberk!
A truly fabulous experience. Nine in the group plus the guide and this worked really well. Perfect group size and we were all able to talk and share our experiences. The food we ate was excellent and the portion sizes were generous. We stopped at many shops and stalls to look at food as well as eat a wide variety of authentic cuisine. Bahri our guide was fabulous. He had an excellent sense of humour as well as an extensive knowledge of Turkish cuisine. He’s actually qualified to talk about all aspects and regions of Turkey including its history, etc. This was a great asset as when we were passing buildings he could answer any questions regarding their history and architecture. A very enjoyable day and great value for money.
