Istanbul Old City Guided Walking Tour

One of the biggest benefits of taking the tour on our first day was that it gave us an excellent overview of the city, allowing us to plan the rest of our stay far more effectively. Because we had already seen and understood the main attractions, we were able to use our remaining time to explore other areas and even take a day trip to Gallipoli. The walking tour is an absolute must for anyone visiting Istanbul. Our tour guide was excellent-friendly, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable. In just one tour, we visited virtually all the major sights and landmarks that were on our Istanbul bucket list. The historical context and local insights brought the city to life and helped us gain a much deeper appreciation of istanbul's fascinating past and vibrant present.

This is a solid, no-BS tour of Istanbul’s main attractions. We came in the offseason and explored the city with TG on a rainy, windy day. But we still managed to enjoy ourselves and learned the hidden history behind Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, etc. TG is knowledgeable and decent. Recommend to anyone trying to get a lay of the land in Istanbul or looking for an efficient way to do all the sights in one fell swoop!

Old town is cool! We visited Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, topkapi palaca, grand bazaar and hippodrome with Rose and took lunch afterwards. She explained everything very detailed

We were guided by Rose on a one day tour and would like to fully recommend you! She met us at 10.30 AM and first took us to Hagia Sophia. The Topkapi, The Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome and the Basilica Cistern followed, before she gave us further valuable tips over a cup of tea and finally ended the tour at the Grand Bazaar. She was an excellent guide, very informative and knowledgeable guide with a lot of historical and architectural details. Hagia Sophia alone is already worth the trip. The magnificence of the mosaics... the large spaces... the grandeur of everything, external and internal, fascinate and make you meditate on what was the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire. One has to bow before the genius of its builders. It has defied the centuries.

If I could leave more than 5 stars I would. Elif was AMAZING! Knowledgeable, personable, professional, and so extremely helpful. This walking tour didn't feel rushed at all. I found rose by chance on instagram, she was busy on the dates me and my family were in Istambul, but she immediately suggested Eli to us. Eli helped me to find a suitable pragram also for two children aged 4 and 6 Years. She was patient, thoughtful, attentive in all situations. I recommend to visit early in the morning. It's the best time when people aren't actually around and there's no line for mosques. The guide is great and very informative.

Elif is the most amazing guide! We were a group of two families and grandparents- ages ranging from 4-78; and Elif managed to engage everyone through out the day. We did day tours with her on two days - covering old city as well as Dolmabahce palace and learnt so much! She was a historian, guide and friend all rolled into one. I was hesitant to get a guide from our hotel or a random agency as a bad guide can ruin your day and did my research beforehand. Elif was everything I hoped for and more! She is fluent in English, is passionate about history and loves sharing her knowledge with visitors to Turkey. I’ll be recommending her to my family and friends and to anyone looking for a guide in Istanbul.
