Relatively good value for Money, we went for Hagia Sofia, basilica cistern and topkapi palace, we ended up paying extra for the Harem in the palace. If booking remember pick days and check location to pick up tickets for all bar Hagia Sofia as barcodes are not accepted at door. The additional palace elements were worth doing but may have been cheaper if booked before arrival. Remember Blue Mosque is free so any ticket containing it should not increase your costs.

As of early April 2026, Megapass Istanbul delivers exactly what it promises, and more. One really does get 'skip the line' admission to the named sites. [Actually most sites have an admissions checkpoint and a security checkpoint. The admissions checkpoints clog up with visitors who have not paid in advance, and Megapass either skips these or has guides who expedite them. The security checkpoints are obligatory in any event, but represent only minor delays.] Pass packages differ in inclusion of the Harem in Topkapi Palace; IMHO it is worth paying extra for packages that include this. If your package includes an Istanbulkart (transit card), we found the Megapass representative not inside the DSign cafe as their site indicates but behind the tour stand to the left (south?) of DSign. Megapass will ask you to sign up for specific entry times when you purchase it. Our advice is to sign up for the earliest possible window for Topkapi, as crowds increase throughout the day. Our instructions were to meet at the Chimney Bistro nearby. We showed up 45 minutes in advance to find a long line to check in, but within 5 min of departure time everyone had been processed and there was no waiting. The representative facilitated our passage through the Topkapi checkpoints, after which we were free to wander. Aga Sophia and Blue Mosque are active mosques and close to non-worshipers during prayers. Before booking times, check online for prayer times. In early April 2026, we did Aga Sophia ~11 AM and Blue Mosque after the early afternoon prayer finished. For Basilica Cistern, 'skip the line' entry is via the guided tour line to the right of the door. BOTTOM LINE: a great value that works as promised
They are very unprofessional. We booked a tour at Topkapi palace and it was supposed to start at 11 AM. They accred more than 40 minutes delay just to get it started and gave no explanation at all. They guys at the meeting point were very rude. The person from the support service was less than helpful, too. Finally, our tour included Aghia Irene but we could not visit it as the guide left without giving us the tickets. Again, when asked for an explanation, the support services just disappeared. High price for a poor service.
I chose the MegaPass Istanbul City Explorer pass after reading multiple reviews and blogs recommending it as an efficient and cost-effective way to visit the main attractions for first time visitors. As many others have reported, MegaPass customer service agents are really excellent. They are responsive whether by email or WhatsApp. They are really polite, friendly, helpful and answer every question no matter how trivial. This is great because the website information and ticketing process are not brilliant so you really have no choice but to seek support from customer services! Our experience of the MegaPass guides and representatives on the ground are also nice and helpful. What worked well? I think it is worth getting the city pass if you want to be able to tackle the big attractions without losing time in ticket queues at each location and if you are happy to use audio guides. However, if you prefer guided tours then purchase these as standalone tickets rather than the city pass. Ultimately, all our tickets worked and we got to see the sites and activities included in the pass - Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace (NB harem is NOT included), and a 90-minute Bosphorus Cruise. It was also very helpful to have the 3GB eSIM (not mentioned or advertised on the MegaPass website!) and an Istanbulkart with five free journeys on the Istanbul public transport network. What did not work so well and could be better? 1. Insufficient details on the MegaPass website about what is and is not included in the Explorer pass. For example, I had no idea that each pass includes a 3GB eSIM until a customer service agent mentioned it to me in passing. After receiving confirmation of your purchase, you MUST create all tickets at the same time. In other words, it is not as flexible as described. I thought I could create tickets one at a time depending on my itinerary but you have to choose a specific date for each activity before you can get tickets for anything at all. This caused me a lot of frustration at the time especially as you cannot change dates yourself; guess what, you have to contact customer services to make any changes. It also means that MegaPass will not refund you if you don't end up using your tickets for any reason because they have already been created! 2. Incorrect (or inconsistent) information on the website and from local partners. The FAQ page states that "The Explorer Pass includes everything in the Essential Pass, plus entry to Topkapı Palace & Harem." We were told at the Topkapi Palace that our ticket does not include entry to the Harem (which was confirmed by MegaPass customer services when I queried this during our trip). This is significant because the Harem is a huge part of the palace and costs extra to enter. The local tour operator also told us that our ticket would not be valid for the following day if we didn't enter Topkapi Palace on the chosen date. I was advised to contact MegaPass and ask for the date to be changed to the next day since the tickets hadn't been used. Apparently, the date does not matter and I could use the same tickets on the following day! I also found conflicting information on the hours for collecting your Istanbulkart from DSign Cafe in Sultanahmet square. Luckily, the MegaPass guide was there when we arrived around 9.30 in the morning. 3. Poor system for creating/accessing tickets and audio guides. There is no MegaPass app so everything is accessed via links to a web page. No WiFi or internet access = No access to the web page and your tickets. I downloaded our tickets so I could access them offline just in case. This is fine in principle but some attractions/activities have specific instructions printed at the bottom of each ticket which do not appear on the downloaded versions!! e.g. Topkapi Palace has specific entry times and you must go to a cafe nearby to be hosted into the site by a local tour operator even though the ticket shows as "all day". 4. No access to eSIM installation unless you contact customer services. Even after you create your tickets on the MegaPass website, there is no information about how to install the eSIM (or that it even exists!). Customer services will send you (email or whatsapp) QR codes and manual set up instructions in a PDF for each eSIM. 5. There's no way to download the audio guides so they can be accessed offline. We followed instructions to access audio guides via a web page for each attraction in advance of our visit. However, once you lose access to WiFi or mobile data, the audio guide resets such that you have to download it all over again. This is a major flaw in the system. One of my group did not have eSIM capability and tried using the free WiFi connection at Hagia Sophia to access the audio guide (Hagia Sophia also has its own guide you can download). The connection was so slow (too many users) that it never downloaded so they couldn't use either audio guide. 6. Useful information guide provided is out of date. For example, there is a page about public holidays in Turkey and the dates are from 2020! Summary There are some great benefits to pre-booking attractions using the MegaPass model. Representatives are really great but I feel like I spent far more time than should have been necessary contacting them for help before purchase, during/after purchase and during our trip. This makes the whole point of a digital system less efficient and not at all user-friendly.
Good communication prior & during booking. Helpful staff who replied to our queries. It was an expensive option that we chose because entry tickets were not available on-line directly for the sites we wished to visit & we wanted to avoid long queues. Vouchers sent to us as well as links to audio guides. Not all instructions were correct ,for example the guide was inside DSign Café when it was specified to wait outside. The audio guides were complicated to understand & did not run when using our handphone cameras . It was either take photos or listen to the audio but not both at the same time. Other than that Megapass saved us a lot of hassle & we are happy with our purchase.
Don’t waste your money on this pass. It is way too difficult to use or redeem. We spent 2 hours trying to find the “redemption center” because the address leading circles and only after we reached out for support they reached out to Megapass and were told something that was never communicated. That the transportation QR codes don’t work until you go to some redemption place with limited hours! Money lost we ended up using our Visa for the trams. The audio guides were a waste and the able mosque is free you literally in and out in less than 10 minutes. Haggis Sophia is under a lot of construction so it isn’t work going in. Even though we paid thru this pass to get in we forfeited it because of the lines and the construction. If you don’t is in a Friday afternoon beware as the mosques are closed until 2:30 and the cruise ship folks crowd in. Go after 4 and it’s fine.
We had a great guided tour of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia in late March. Everything was well organized through MegaPass, and the experience was smooth throughout. Our guide, Cenker, was knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. He shared interesting insights and made the tour enjoyable from start to finish. I really recommend booking a guided tour, you get so much more out of the places when someone tells you historical facts and shows you details younwouldn't recognize on your own. Highly recommended when visiting Istanbul!
Tour Haga Sofia/ Blue Mosque and the lost Palace we're very informativ. Specially our Guide Jack was very good. Thank you
Sometimes tourism transactions are with an anonymous and unresponsive website. But there are real people behind Megapass Istanbul. Should you have a problem or need explanation, the people behind Megapass Istanbul are highly responsive. They were able to troubleshoot several issues that unexpectedly arose (and were not their fault). I would especially like to call out Deniz, who stayed awake late at night to compose videos to help us with an issue. He also followed up several times to check that our problem had been solved.
Did the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Blues Cistern tour. Super happy with the whole experience. And a massive shout out to our very knowledgeable tour guide Cenker - he did an amazing job
We bought the pass for Hagia Sofia, Cistern and Topkapi Palace. A cruise, Blue Mosque and Istanbul tram passes were thown in. Good value tickets, skip the line was worth it (although the queues wernt that long). You need to make sure you have data to access the passes but otherwise all very smooth and easy to navigate.
We had an excellent tour of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the Basilica Cistern. We toured on 3.17.2026 and did the 10 am tour. Our guide was knowledgable and very personable. He shared a lot of history and cultural information. We were very glad we did the tour and highly reccomend!
Juan Carlos😁 was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about the Blue Mosque, Basillica Cistern and Hagia Sophia, the tour was well organised with clear explanations. He is a passionate local guide who provided a great service for the three hours we were on the tour.

Was an amazing tour full of information about Topkapı. Thanks a lot dear Cenker
Although the overall price of the MegaPass is not much less than what you would pay for the individual attractions, it made our trip to Istanbul much more seamless and enjoyable. We paid €129 for the “explorer” city pass. This included entry to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace and a Bosphorus River Cruise. For most of the attractions, an audio guide was included, and the Blue Mosque ticket included a guided tour. The pass also included an “Istanbulkart” transport pass (like an Oyster card) with 5 free trips loaded onto the card. After payment, all of the tickets and audio guides were sent digitally to our email addresses. There was also an option of setting preferred dates and times for the guided tours and river cruise. All of the attraction tickets included queue jump. Our longest wait to get in any attraction was 5 minutes at Basilica Cistern. The audio guide for the Bosphorus river cruise in particular was a highlight. I learnt so much about the history of Istanbul and felt like I was getting a detailed overview of the history of each neighbourhood. We would not have visited all of the attractions if we hadn’t paid for the mega pass. It made everything so much easier and I would highly recommend purchasing the “explorer” pass if you are first time sightseeing in Istanbul.
Enjoyed the trip quite a lot, good information, explained well. Tour guide was great, funny and passionate. Everything was well presented.
Package included Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Well organized and insightful, special mention to our guide Cenker for having made the tour really informative and engaging. Highly recommended!
Cenker is a fantastic guide. We took the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern combo. He guided us with passion and with deep knowledge of the sites. Highly recommended.
Mega pass allowed access to the top attractions and the river cruise at the night time was very good. Very good value for money
Wonderful to visit the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. It was such a great experience. Cenker is knowledgeable and friendly!
Our guide Cenker is friendly and nice Gained a deep understanding of the three spots Recommend all to join!
Amazing experience definitely worth the money and time! Cenker was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and such a pleasant personality! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a few hour tour without dealing with the lines or hassle!
Cenker was amazing. It was a very interesting day exploring the top attractions in Istanbul, and it was super insightful. I’m glad I did it with him, and I would definitely recommend it.
Cenker is very knowledgeable and he is very patient with his clients. The tour was excellent and couldn't have been better.
It was worth purchasing the MegaPass to enable us to queue jump, Unfortunately we experienced several problems with unclear information relating to meeting places, namely for the Sunset Bosphorus cruise and Topkapi Palace and the collection of our travel passes. Despite emailing Headout (who sold us the Megapasses) following our trip, we haven't received a response.
If you want to see Istanbul’s major sites, this pass is a great way to maximize value! Take advantage of its flexible plan of events, but def try out Topkapi Castle, Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia and one of the oldest turkish baths around. They throw in a transit pass and 2h ferry ride as part of the deal.
Really good tour around blue mosque. Cenker explains everything very good, complete explanations and give us lot of useful information. we will definitely recommend it.
Cenker was wonderful and very informative. It was a long tour but well worth it. Three locations and very thorough. It was a lovely day!
I went on a short tour around Istanbul with my family. The name of the tour guide was Cenker. It was really nice and definitely worth the price! Would 100% recommend!!!
Great tour with Cenker! A lot of great historical information and excellent fun too. We highly recommend it and will come back in the future.
Bospherous Dinner Cruise was nice & the views were beautiful but the food left a lot to be desired. If one picks a mixed grill & it is meat balls & chicken, it should be quality meat used, such as grass fed beef & grilled chicken breast. I also feel there should be a little more variety & at least 1 drink should be included! We had a nice time, but found everything a little expensive…drinks, pictures etc. At least the show was entertaining. If you want tourist to be happy & to return, you shouldn’t look to overcharge them. Price fairly, like you do to those who live here & they’ll not only return, but also refer others to come.
Our guide was great, we missed of booked tour for the Basilica Cistern due to logistics issues and they were so nice about it! We got someone to still do a tour with us and he took the time to explain everything even though we were only 2 people. I'd definitely recommend if you want a great experience!
We booked the basilica cistern guided tour and for reasons out of the organisers control due to misdirection from others, we missed our time slot. Upon finding out we had missed our time slot, one guide, who told us is called Abi, offered to take as for free as we missed our slot into the basilica cistern for a private tour. He was absolute lovely and went above and beyond what we could expect. Great guy and tour
Great tour! Cenker was very knowledgeable, kind, respectful and has a sense of humour. Our security lines moved quickly and if it was slow, he would investigate and try to get us moving again.
Our tour eirh Cenkar through Istanbul’s historic mosques was truly unforgettable. The guide brought each site to life with deep knowledge, thoughtful storytelling, and genuine respect for the cultural and spiritual significance of these places. His ability to explain complex history and religious traditions in a clear and engaging way made the experience both educational and moving.
Jean Ker was great !! Great tour . Funny and informative . The group was large but he kept with us . English is really good 👍
The tour of the Hagia Sophia was amazing and it was all due to our guide Cenker who went to great detail about the church/mosques history.
The pass was excellent it made our trip better organised. The tour guide a the Blue Mosque was excellent and everyone who sorted the passes out were brilliant!
Center was a great tour guide! Very interesting historical explanation at a good price. Highly recommended! It lasted about 40 minutes total
Cenker provides us an excellent experience and knowledge about Turkey history, culture and traditions. Highly recommended.
Cenkar was amazing. Us 3 ladies from San Francisco loved our tour. Great day! He did a great job at leading us through the crowds during a protest. We were lucky that the places we visited weren’t overly packed like usual. Possibly due to the protest happening at the same time as our tour. Either way it still made for a great time. Thank you Cenkar and Istanbul is beautiful!
Incredible mosque tour, and Cenkat is a great tour guide! A must for anyone coming to Istanbul. Thank you Cenkat for the experience.
