Bahri could not have been more engaged with the group! The trip was genial, friendly, highly informative and most importantly delicious - thank you Bahri.

Itinerary
Meet your guide at Taksim Square and begin your evening food adventure through Istanbul’s European side. From here, head towards İstiklal Avenue and the lively streets of Beyoğlu.
Walk along Istanbul’s famous pedestrian avenue and start the night with tantuni, a hot Turkish wrap filled with finely chopped meat, tomatoes, herbs and spices. Then leave the main avenue behind for Beyoğlu’s food-filled backstreets.
Stop at historic Hacı Bekir, which has been making lokum since 1777. Taste freshly cut Turkish delight in flavours such as rose and pistachio while discovering the story behind one of Istanbul’s best-known traditional sweets.
Explore historic Çiçek Pasajı and the neighbouring Fish Market, one of Beyoğlu’s most atmospheric food areas. See the market stalls and eateries that have long been part of Istanbul’s evening food culture.
Continue into lively Nevizade, where restaurant tables spill into the narrow streets at night. Taste local favourites such as midye dolma, fried mussels and kokoreç, surrounded by the neighbourhood’s unmistakable evening atmosphere.
Walk through Asmalımescit, Beyoğlu’s historic meyhane quarter, and stop for kebap dürüm — freshly grilled kebab wrapped in thin lavash bread. Experience another side of Istanbul’s after-dark dining culture.
Continue downhill towards Karaköy, one of Istanbul’s oldest neighbourhoods. Taste fish dürüm, grilled fish wrapped with fresh greens and lemon, as you explore the streets beneath Galata.
Finish the evening with freshly made baklava at Karaköy Güllüoğlu. From here, the tour ends near Şişhane Metro Station and the historic Tünel funicular, with Galata Tower a short walk away.

Great experience in great area in a great city. Khan was a fantastic guide with excellent knowledge of the Istanbul food scene. You will love the diversity and the flavours
Our food tour of Istanbul was one of the highlights of our trip. Khan couldn't have been a better guide. He was knowledgable, professional, entertaining, and most of all, passionate about his work. It felt like we were spending an evening with a really cool friend who encouraged us to deviate from our comfort zones (lamb intestine sandwich? Who knew it would've been a favorite?) and left us feeling tired, full, happy, and like we had a glimpse of Istanbul that most people might not see. I'd highly recommend the tour--and any tour that Khan is a part of.
Wonderful evening tasting the different foods of Taksim and Karaköy! Tunc was a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable in all things Turkish! The fish wrap and baklava were the highlights! Highly recommended.
10/10 highly recommend. I went on this Taksim evening food tour 8 years ago and I did it again last month. The restaurants and route are very slightly different, but still equally awesome. I do miss the old “chicken breast ice cream” from 8 years ago - that was memorable. Overall I highly recommend this as a great alternative to an evening meal in Istanbul. Also a reminder: it’s virtually impossible to end this tour and still be hungry!
We had a lovely time seeing the backstreets of Istanbul where the locals eat and hang out, and our guide was amazing - answering any questions we had and trying to make sure we had the best experience possible. We did however, find the food a bit underwhelming and while we understood that no wine or beer was provided, it wasn’t even available to purchase at any restaurant we went to which was unclear when we booked the tour.
Very knowledgeable guide and interesting travelers in our group. Be prepared for local food, some of which is not particularly mainstream, but quite interesting. Also be ready for a bit of a walk.
Fantastic experience. Bhari introduced our group to variety of street foods and local gems interweaving stories, history and so many tips. And we all left with a list of restaurants to explore in the neighborhoods we're staying in. It was so hard to say which tastes were the best. Without doubt this tour was a highlight. Start your time in Istanbul with Bhari and a food tour.
We were hesitant to do a food tour because of a previous experience in another city. This was a terrific tour and khan was a great guide. There is a substantial amount of food involved so show up very hungry. It was largely meat based and I would’ve enjoyed some vegetable dishes that they have been difficult to find in Istanbul ex Mezze. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Istanbul.
Bahri was a fantastic guide. We could tell that he loves Istanbul and food. He not only gave us information about the foods we tried, he also told us so much about the city and gave us recommendations of places to eat during our stay. Every stop was excellent and fun. We saw so many fun neighborhoods and places to go.
It was a great experience with Bahri for the evening tour and we learned so much about the food history and also the history of the city and locations we walked through. Great variety of food and drinks and options to have more or less if you are hungry. But it was a great experience and I high recommend to everyone. Very worth the money.
Tunç went above and beyond to give us a great tour. Lots of interesting cuisine with great historical context. Delicious, fun and informative all in one! Won’t be eating again for 24 hours!!!
Amazing experience with a wonderful guide. My only regret is that I didn’t do this the first or second day so that I could have eaten the amazing and reasonably priced food on offer in Istanbul instead of only eating at “tourist” restaurants which were on the whole not great food. The tour took us to the places where the locals eat and the food was fantastic. Go hungry and if you are like me - maybe only eat half the food at the first couple of places because the food got better and better. I was stuffed and could only take 1-2 bites of some really delicious food by the end. The money you spend on this tour will be more than made up by the amount of money you save eating around Istanbul the rest of your holiday if you do this trip early in your stay! Would recommend 100%!
Go hungry! Lots of diverse food and drink. Knowledge guide. Helped us catch up to the tour when we got stuck in traffic crossing bridge from Old Town.
Wonderful tour, met all my expectations. Bahri our tour guide was very professional, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. Don’t miss this!
Bahri was our guide for an exceptional food tour. It was street food, and everything was delicious. We walked thru several neighborhoods (wear walking shoes and up for a 3 hour walk!), and Bahri gave us great food, yes, but the tour was ultimately a cultural one. He was fun and knowledgeable and our group of 10 had a great time.
This tour got recommend to me by a friend, and now I'm recommending it to everyone! The food was delicious, and it was nice to walk around in these more local-oriented neighborhoods. Drinks are included, so no need to stress about bringing your own water. And of course, the tour leaves you with a lot more knowledge about where and what to eat in Istanbul, so I'd recommend doing it at the start of your visit here
Excellent food choices and diverse diet more than just a food tour. Our guide, Bahri, provided fun and informative facts about the Istanbul as we walked from restaurant to restaurant as well as showed us where to go eat and hang out and not be such a tourist. Also, our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and seemed genuinely just as interested about my wife and I and where we came from as we were about Istanbul. I highly recommend this trip and our guide—-what a wonderful person.
I’m torn about this experience my wife and I did in July 2025. I’ve done many food tours across Europe, and unfortunately, this one ranked the lowest for me. While our guide, Tunc, was excellent—knowledgeable, passionate, and clearly invested in sharing Turkish culture—the overall value of the tour didn’t quite match the price. We visited six stops in total, and most of the food was inexpensive street fare. While some of it was tasty, none of it really showcased the richness or variety of Turkish cuisine in a memorable way. I left feeling like I’d missed out on the depth and quality I’ve experienced on other tours. Much of the walking was through crowded, touristy streets where we were frequently approached (sometimes aggressively) by restaurant staff trying to pull us in. This made it hard to relax and enjoy the experience between food stops. In short: Tunc made the best of the tour, and I appreciated his enthusiasm. But if you’re looking for a deep dive into the best of Turkish food, this tour didn’t deliver that for me—especially given the cost.
Great foodie tour of Istanbul! Our guide Tunc walked us through a culinary journey of the city, with 6 stops featuring the best and most favourite foods it has to offer. Finished the tour very full and satisfied!!
Great format and an excellent host. His insights were informal and relevant, but also interesting. I would thoroughly recommend.
Very delicious and informative food tour. Our guide Sinan was friendly and helpful. We had a great time sampling some of the best foods of Istanbul. There was plenty to eat and so many great options. Sinan was well informed and shared a lot of great background and stories with us. We loved our experience--a highlight of our trip to Istanbul!
My husband and I took our two toddlers with us on our tour of Kadikoy with Bahri, and we had a wonderful time! Even when the 2yo was being difficult and whiny, Bahri (and all the restaurant workers) just rolled with it and made everything so peaceful and joyful. And the food was DELICIOUS!
Bahri did a phenomenal job with this tour. It was the highlight of the trip for my son and me. So many great new dishes and always as much as we wanted. Bahri was so great at making the city come alive in our minds and interpreting the nightlife around us. Great encyclopedic knowledge of the history behind the food and the places. Plus, we got to ride on the Tunel funicular! Highly, highly recommend.
Very enjoyable tour. Our guide Bari gave us lots of information about Istanbul and Turkish culture. We tried several delicious dishes and different drinks during the tour.
We had an amazing evening with Bahri who took us to 6 different places that we never would have gone to on our own. Each had tremendous atmosphere and the food was all different and VERY good. He gave us lots of history and great conversation. An evening well worth it!
We had many different local foods that I had never heard of personally and I was quite satisfied on completion of our time.
Exploring the representative regions of Turkey in the Taksim Square area was an incredible experience. The tour provided cultural insights and introduced us to a diverse range of Turkish cuisines. Tugce, our knowledgeable guide, made the journey even more enriching.
Great tour with nicely planned stops and excellent tasting street food. Bahri our guide was well versed in the area restaurants and chose great vendors. Our teenage kids loved the food and we were very full but the end of the tour. I highly recommend
Very good expérience with Bahri! 3 hours of delicious street food while discovering hidden places, with good tips and interesting culture anecdotes A must do!
Had an amazing experience trying out the street food of Istanbul! Our guide Sinan was very knowledgeable and friendly, he took us to the hidden gems of Taksim and we couldn’t help but come back to some of these places afterwards.
Don’t eat ahead. Offered portions are generous! Fun way to see the city and meet a local guide with shared interest. We were happy we didn’t chose a longer tour as would not have been able to eat everything offered
This food tour was a great way to experience the “New District.” We were there on a Saturday night, and the streets are filled with such energy! Our tour guide, Sinan, was just fantastic! He certainly knew the ins and outs and took us to seven wonderful places to experience the best of the best! Our favorite was the mussels filled with a tasty rice! We couldn’t get enough! Another standout was a place that Anthony Bourdain recommended. We learned so much and really enjoyed this tour. Worth every penny!
Sinon was terrific! He not only gave us information about the food we ate (Super!), but provided historical and cultural background for the places and sites we walked by. Definitely a 5 star evening!
Leyla was a great guide, so informative and fun. Make sure not to eat before the tour, as you receive allot of variety and quantity of samples.
Leyla was an incredible guide -- she is so knowledgeable about the country and its history; we talked about things well beyond the food we were eating. I very much enjoyed every moment and would recommend this tour to everyone!!
We throughly enjoyed our evening our with Leyla. We eat at places and tried food we never would have on our own. This is a much of a history tour as a food tour.
If you don't want to eat for 7 hours do this tour. This is over 3 hours and they visit 6 to 7 different places. They are all hole in the wall places but the food is AMAZING. How do they find these places. The food is ready before you get there so you don't waste time waiting for your food. The guide asks you if you want more portions if you like the food. Water and drinks are included. There was so much food that you can't eat enough. I highly recommend it. If we ever go back, we will do it again. Everything is in walking distance. We needed to walk more to burn off all the food.
This was already the second tour I booked and I was thrilled again. Thanks also to Sinan who told us a lot about Istanbul. My highlight was the Balik Wrap and the Baklava. I have never eaten this so well. Anytime again, should I come to Istanbul again a tour is booked👍
A new and surprising activity. To discover Turkish food in places you would never go to as tourists. The super nice guide, eager to teach us Turkish culture and gastronomy. Fantastic!
