Itinerary
The German Fountain in Istanbul’s Sultanahmet Square is a neo-Byzantine style monument, gifted by Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1901, famed for its golden mosaic dome.
Sultanahmet Square is the historic heart of Istanbul, once the Hippodrome of Constantinople, today home to iconic landmarks like the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the German Fountain.
The Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque) is Istanbul’s most famous mosque, built in the 17th century. It’s renowned for its six minarets, grand dome, and stunning blue İznik tiles.
Hagia Sophia is Istanbul’s most iconic monument, originally built as a Byzantine cathedral in 537. It later became an Ottoman mosque, then a museum, and is today a functioning mosque, admired for its massive dome and stunning mosaics.
The Basilica Cistern is an underground wonder in Istanbul, built in the 6th century to store water for the Byzantine Empire. It’s famous for its forest of marble columns, atmospheric lighting, and the mysterious Medusa head bases.
Step beneath Istanbul's streets and discover the ancient Cistern of Theodosius, a hidden Byzantine masterpiece brought to life through immersive lighting and history.

I booked a tour to see hagia sophia, Blue dome and cistern . Meeting up place was at the german Fountain the problem is there was the istanbul marathon and that was finishing line . I was message that a full refunding would be forth coming and sent to apple account . I dont have apple a count it should have gone to my credit card I used when booking . Can't seam to get in contact with anyone . Please remedy .
Great experience- we started early so it was like having a VIP experience m, there were few people in the mosques. So we had a chance to really experience it
Very good guide. The Hagia Sophia was actually too crowded to feel a real connection with the history and structure of the place. Overall a very good experience worth taking when visiting Istanbul for the first time.
The experience was cool and very knowledgeable, instructor was friendly and knowledgeable as well but I’m not sure if I’d recommend it to someone as “Must See” activity.
Tour of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Cistern of Theodosius. This was billed as a three hour tour - it wasn't. It was only two. Our guide was pleasant enough and did add tour guide value in the Hagia Sophia but anything we learned at the Blue Mosque and Cistern could have been accessed by guide book or online. All in all, disappointing from a value point of view. Access to the Blue Mosque is free anyway, and we certainly didn't experience any front of line benefits. There was also too many people in our group. For the price point of the tour, it should have been limited to 10 people. We had 15 or so.
Our guide Tolga was very informative, knowledgeable and gave us enough time to appreciate our surroundings.
We only had one day in Istanbul and this tour covered some amazing highlights. Our tour guide, Cem, was excellent! He was extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited: the German Fountain, Hippodrome of Constantinople, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, and Theodosius Cistern. His English was excellent and he took time to make sure all of our questions were answered. I highly recommend this tour!
Great condensed tour of Istanbul highlights! Friendly, knowledgeable guide. Tour ended within easy walking distance to grand bazar.
Perfection. 5 stars. Best tour yet.
We had a fantastic tour. CEM was an amazing tour guide. I would highly recommend. He was helpful to all of us and others who needed help along the way.
It was a stunning experience, incredibly informative and was genuinely worth the time and the money.
Cem was great!!! Nicely paced and very informative!
Absolutely beautiful! So glad we went on this tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and gave us ample time to explore.
Guide was very good and knowledgeable about the sights we saw. Very much enjoyed and well organised.
Wonderful tour, well worth it! Batuhan was a great guide, too!
Batu was excellent! Very comprehensive, informative and the communication was very good. Blue Mosque was overwhelmingly fantastic. Hagia Sophia was under renovation so only a part was visible. But still worth it.
Excellent guide and very interesting tour.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Cam, was punctual, engaging, interesting and very knowledgeable. We gained so much more from seeing these sites with Cam such as local insight, good photo spots, being able to ask questions of areas of interest etc. Without a doubt, I would recommend this tour to anyone. At the end Cam was very helpful in suggesting activities / restaurants for the rest of our day which were spot on! Thank you for a wonderful tour Cam!
This was an excellent tour experience. We had a great time with our tour guide (Bat). He was friendly, informed, and presented information on a level that was accessible to all. He was able to go into detail if asked, as well. We really enjoyed the little "side conversations" while waiting in line for the various sites. The tour was the right length, provided everything as listed and was a great introduction to the city.I would recommend this tour operator. (Tourmania)
Guide was good but NOT main cistern Badilica - over charged when other tour companies did do the main basilica cistern for the same price e it was mis-sold as all other tourist on the trip were also under the impression it was going to be a tour of the main cistern
Knowledgeable Guide and very helpful.
It was wonderful ! I had originally missed my first tour guide but was able to join a last minute group. My guide Batuhan was amazing and knowledgeable . He gave us allot of information and I really appreciated that .
An excellent trip with an excellent tour guide who made the afternoon very interesting. He was very enthusiastic and informative and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend to anyone thinking of booking.
Great tour. Our guide was Behlül and he did a fantastic job! We met at the German fountain, and he started off by giving us a tour of the plaza, where the fountain is located and all of the spires and their history. We proceeded to the blue mosque where he advised us to remove our shoes and gather us inside. He explained all of the decoration in the mosque and what each separate item meant and what actually takes place including the Call to Prayer. He gave us time to walk around on our own and take some pictures. We then proceeded to the Hagia Sophia where he told us the extensive history of this sacred site and told us the stories behind the mosaic pictures that remain on the walls. This is all on the museum level as the actual Mosque is not open to the public. Lastly we walked to the Cistern and learned about the history of the water system of ancient Turkey. Very beautiful destination. Highly recommend this tour to get the most interesting and educational information.
Furkan was very knowledgeable and passionate about history. It took him a bit to warm up, but he was nice, and patient with an older lady in our group who kept wandering off. Meeting point is a good location. The tour was shorter than advertised, closer to 2 hours and 20 minutes, and that includes a visit to the Cistern of Theodosius. There was confusion around my booking, I bought the ticket that included Cistern of Theodosius, but Furkan had not been informed, so I had to bring up my reservation details and he made a detour to drop me off there. Would probably leave 4.5 starts if possible.
Cem was very a knowledgeable tour guide. Great tour, and a Wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend this tour.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and presented the tour very well. He also shared extra info and answered all of our questions. Great guide.
Well organised check in to begin with which set the tone for the rest of the tour. Smallish group of 13 which was good and our guide Cem was brilliant. Great historical explanations and really took time to engage with the group and answer questions. The queue for the Blue Mosque was super long but he kept the group engaged with interesting facts woven into personal experiences. This continued throughout and although Haghia Sofia is under renovation, it was worth the visit and the learnings. The Theodosius Cistern, whilst small, was uncrowded and a great, cooling end to the tour. Cem also gave us recommendations on places for lunch and other things to do if we had time. Overall a great tour and with a fabulous guide and well worth the money.
What a wonderful experience exploring some of Istanbul’s most iconic historical landmarks! Our tour included the magnificent Hagia Sophia, the beautiful Blue Mosque, and the fascinating Basilica Cistern. Each location was absolutely breathtaking, and the amount of history behind these incredible monuments was simply amazing. Our guide was fantastic! Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Istanbul’s rich history. He shared fascinating stories and historical details that brought each location to life, and he patiently answered all our questions throughout the tour. Having such an experienced guide made a tremendous difference in understanding and appreciating everything we were seeing. We highly recommend this tour! It's a fantastic way to discover Istanbul’s extraordinary history and architectural treasures. A truly memorable experience!
Great guide ! Take a scarf for the Mosque Bag for your shoes if you wish to keep them with you when you enter Lots of water
Excellent small group with Can who was a great guide. Highly recommend. Terrific way to get a greater understanding of the local history.
Our guide was engaging and informative. I think his name was Cem. He was very patient and did an excellent job of navigating the crowds. The tour was well worth it.
Great tour with interesting facts
Nice, historical palace, worth to visit at first ín Istambul.
My wife and I took this tour October 6th, 2026. We are on a cruise with Holland America. The meeting place was at the German Fountain near the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Our tour guide was Furkan Emre, a very tall young man with a deep voice. He speaks excellent English and is very knowledgeable about Turkey's history. He was at the meeting point probably 10 minutes early and displayed his flag conspicuously, he was hard to miss, maybe 6 feet 4inches? It would be difficult to lose him in the crowd. Anyway, he explained the whole area; besides the attractions headlined in the title of the tour, he included the Obelisk of Theodosius, the ancient Serpent Column, Constantine's Obelisk, the German Fountain and the layout of the Roman Hippodrome. He also pointed out a few of the resident cats that lived in the area, they seemed to recognize him (there is a kiosk where you can purchase some food for the cats, all looked healthy and well fed). We purchased the tour with the optional cistern. It is a fine example of a Roman Cistern, but if you want to see the one featured in James Bond's From Russia with Love, It is not that cistern and it is overpriced in my view. But disregarding that it was an excellent tour.
Furkan’s enthusiasm is contagious. Learned so much about Istanbul and Turkish history. Really enjoyed ourselves
Very good and informative. Guide was very helpful polite and knew lots of local history ( I think his name lufti) mild walking , nead a head scarf for ladies although they provide plain ones if you don’t have
Intimate small group tour of three main "sights". Batuhan was friendly and knowledgeable. For us it was the perfect balance of serious sightseeing with a personable guide. It was wonderful to skip all the lines when we arrived at busy venues.
Three must do experiences in Istanbul. The Blue Mosque free of chrage; Hagia Sofia and the Cistern have entrance fees but well worth the money. Remember all 3 attractions are very close together especially the two mosques. The Cistern is a very different type of attraction and all 3 are very busy. The 3 can also be easily accessed by using public transport and is the easiest way of reaching them as the area is very busy.
6 Star very impressed knowledge guide
Wel organized. On time. Our guide - Batu - was good - friendly and helpful beyond just the tour topics. Overall was about 3+ hrs.
Interesting and easy way to see the historical sights. Although I think you need to post a picture of The German Fountain as we thought the fountain in the city square was the meeting place 😱
Very informative, seamless saw everything in the tour in great time!
The Blue Mosque was stunning. The Cistern of Thedosius was surprisingly tranquil in a busy city. The Hagia Sophia is undergoing restoration so expect limited access.
Tour guide was great and Blue Mosque was spectacular. Unfortunately we had people in our group who were not physically able to manage which slowed down everything. Lots of standing around in lineups. Also only 2 stops(Blue Mosque and Sofia, so it did not match the description of our tour.
Great tour and very knowledgeable guide
Our guide, Tayfun, was excellent. He did this tour in English and was fluent. He was very informative and kind.
The trip was very interesting and Cem, our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. However, the audio equipment arrived late, and failed early into our tour, which was very poor and disappointing, and marred the overall experience.
Boris was very nice abd knowledgeable
