The castle is Amazing. Largest furnished castle we have ever toured. Skip the line is definitely worth it. The security line before castle line still has to be gone through and there is a line there that can’t be skipped.

I don’t know why we bothered purchasing an entry ticket ahead of time. You have to wait in a very long security line anyway and there was no one I. Line for tickets. We couldn’t figure out how to download the tickets - we had to get help from the information booth. It said they sent it via email but they sent it via WhatsApp which I didn’t see until after we left. The people at the information booth had to call the company. There are two separate entrances so we had to show the code again and figure out how to find it again. Also it says that there is an audio tour- it’s an audio tour available to anyone- no headphones- you have to scan each code at each station and listen through your phone. We were afraid of losing all the charge on the phone so we didn’t listen to all of them. Over all not worth purchasing ahead of time. I didn’t check to see if it was more or less expensive than just buying a ticket when you get there. The tour is worth it but just buy a ticket when you get there
Dolmabahce rivals similar palaces in Europe. It is impressive in terms of size, layout and style. It was a relaxing visit. The audio is informative although the track numbers don't match the room numbers.
The tickets were never delivered , dont buy from this vendor. We ordered the tickets in the morning for the 4pm tickets same day and the tickets were never emailed as promised and we had to buy it at the gate again.
This was one of the worst ways to purchase tickets for the palace. It took an extra 45 minutes to figure out how to get our tickets and that was with the help of an information officer at the palace! Skip this service and buy direct onsite to save time and your sanity. There was no line at the box office when we got there at 10am.
Audio guide is highly recommended! It automatically starts when you enter the different areas. The palace and grounds are absolutely beautiful!
The only thing that went smoothly is collecting my money. Never recieved the qr code, no response from viator or city berry support. Do not recommend unless you like handing out money for nothing.
Beautiful, interesting and a break from being outside. Was a longer experience than expected. I suggest planning to see half, have a coffee/dessert in one of the cafes then see the rest.
There was no line early in the morning and we paid so much more to do the audio guide ourselves. Palace was wonderful. Just go early and buy tickets yourself.
This self guided tour of the palace with the audio handset was amazing. It is such a grand palace!
If you like opulent interiors and historical buildings the palace is a must see. Buy a skip the line ticket to help you out with the crowds and attend early in the day.
The flow of the visit was fantastic as it was arranged as a one way direction making it very easy to cover all the palace in 1.5 hours without rushing.
The audio guide was the perfect choice to do at your own pace. Keep in mind they don’t not allow gimbals and held ours at security. Was a bit concerning but was returned after we finished.
Palace was beautiful and very ornate. Very crowded. We couldn’t start audio guide on phone… no internet and no signs to direct us to the location where headsets could be obtained.
Buy the ticket before entering on line Everyone must go through security Take your on line booking voucher to information office to the right of the entrance They will validate (it’s good to have (What’s App) As you go to enter there is an office on the left. Get the audio guide. You will have to leave an ID. don’t do the tour without the audio guide
We visited on Thursday and there was no queue at all. Hence, no need for skip the line. However, we saw a snaking queue on Sunday. There was no QR code sent to us for entry and we have to get them from the information counter after being directed from the ticket booth.
Visiting Dolmabahçe Palace was an absolutely excellent and unforgettable experience. The beauty and grandeur of the palace are truly breathtaking. Every room is filled with incredible detail, stunning architecture, and magnificent decorations that reflect the rich history and elegance of the Ottoman era. Walking through the palace felt like stepping back in time. The chandeliers, luxurious halls, and beautiful views of the Bosphorus make this place truly unique and impressive. Everything is preserved with great care, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the history and culture. It was a remarkable visit and one of the highlights of the trip to Istanbul. Dolmabahçe Palace is truly a must-see for anyone visiting the city
Never found the guide/rep. Looked & looked for 30 minutes. Bought another ticket at the desk eventually.
Queue is for everyone for security check - no ‘skip the line’ at this point. Selfie stick confiscated until exit. Passport or driving licence ID security needed for the audio to collect on exit. Voucher didn’t generate QR code so had to go to information point for attendant to access and copy. Could have bought ticket in that time! Only coffee shop inside the grounds is in picture gallery at the far end - buy before in the cafe at the entrance. A good day out but some hassle first as above. Be prepared!
This visit used Istanbul Tourist Pass to supply ticket and audio guide. Our experience was poor. There was no where to validate the voucher and convert to a ticket. We had to go to the information office and they eventually managed to get the QR code tickets via the agent. The audio guide was short and general in nature. It didn’t correspond with the official palace audio guide. Very disappointing! We would have been better served queuing up and buying a ticket and guide. On the positive side, the palace was spectacular, particularly the grand ceremonial hall.
The audio guide bough with Viator was limited compare to what was offered with tickets bought on site. As we were early, skip the line had no value to us. The site is absolutely impressive, gorgeous and a must visit.
Simply terrific guide. I enjoyed seeing the rich culture heritage in this place. Highly recommended ❤️
The palace is beautiful. The process to get in very easy. The agency was in communication with me at all times
Inside a let down., very plain. Audio guide not working and continually being shouted at to not take photos. Outside worth the visit.
Wonderful learning about historical site and lifestyle of its rulers. Would recommend you his tour to others.
We really enjoyed this self-guided tour (with audio guide) of the Dolmabache Palace. A sumptuous Ottoman palace ('dolma' means 'filled' or 'stuffed'in Turkish). Many gorgeous rooms and artifacts from many Sultans and their harems. The grounds and gardens are lovely too. 2 things could have been much better: 1) I ordered the 'skip the line' vouchers, which never arrived. So we had to ask one of the staff to help us; they downloaded our two QR ticket codes from somewhere, to their phone, which I then had to photograph with my phone. That took 15 minutes. 2) Be aware they don't allow you to take any photos inside! That is unacceptable after buying tickets. They must want you to buy their books. I didn't.
The palace is simply awesome, fantastic place to wander around with amazing features inside and beautiful gardens outside. Was much more difficult than it should have been to collect my tickets though, and ended up simply sent to me via WhatsApp
The chandeliers and other interior items were worth the price of admission. Nice audio guide and a lovely view to the Bosphorus. However, many user snafus regarding electronic transmission of QR code; had to contact operator to get code texted.
Very beautiful and evocative palace, I absolutely recommend visiting it. I did not like, however, that the audio guides were made with AI; I was hoping they had been recorded by a real guide.
The place is excellent, the visit was very good. The operator sent me a voucher to exchange for the entry at the exchange point. When I arrived, that point did not exist, and the QR code was received by email... I had to ask for assistance from the palace staff, who were very kind.
