Our guide Burak was fantastic, very funny and had terrific knowledge of the Gallipoli campaign ( and the Australian vernacular !) The whole trip went like a well oiled machine - very efficient and streamlined I would highly recommend this trip - it’s a long day but so worth it !

My day trip to Gallipoli from Istanbul was a first rate experience overall. The 6 AM pick up from the hotel was on time and seamless, we spent 45 minutes picking up from other hotels to fill up the bus. I think it was a 15 or 16 seat bus with no overhead storage so as a solo traveler, I shared a seat with a stranger and my backpack on my knee. My seat Companionwas pleasant company. Mostly Australians on the tour, with a New Zealand couple and a couple from England. The 45 minute comfort stop after two hours of driving seemed excessive. The drive to the lunch stop and tour operator‘s office, including the comfort stop took about five hours 15 minutes from my hotel pick up. Lunch was OK and then we met our guide and off to the Anzac tour. The guide, Burac, was excellent. He said he had been taking tours of the Anzac area for about 15 years and he certainly knew his stuff. The tour was organized logically and sequentially and was well narrated by our guide. He had a great sense of humor and appeared to appreciate the Australian and New Zealand vernacular, and our sense of humor. His English was good and his knowledge of the Gallipoli campaign appeared extensive. The guided tour lasted for about four hours. The trip back to Istanbul took about 5 hours including a half hour break and moderately heavy traffic in Istanbul at the end. I arrived back at my hotel at about 10 PM, a long but satisfying day.
I’m really happy I decided to visit Gallipoli during my stay in Istanbul. It was a long day, but there was so much to see and learn along the way. The historical sites and memorials were much more powerful in person, and hearing the stories from the guide made everything easier to understand. The tour was well organised, the driver was friendly, and we had enough time to enjoy the different stops. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who has an interest in history and wants to see Gallipoli for themselves.
I’m really glad I booked this tour. Gallipoli was much more impressive than I expected, especially seeing the memorials and historical sites in person. The guide was friendly and explained everything clearly. It was a long day, but I really enjoyed it and would happily do it again.
As an Aussie, visiting Gallipoli meant a lot to me, and I’m really glad I booked this tour. Seeing ANZAC Cove and the memorials in person was something special. Everything was well organised, we never felt rushed, and there was enough time to stop, look around, and take it all in. It was a pretty emotional day and one I’ll remember for a long time. Cheers to the team for making it such a great experience.
Charlie was awsome, very knowledgeable and fun. Also, gave a very interesting side of the Turkish side of the Gallipoli campaign which made it extra special. Thank you for this great experience.
Very well organized tour from Istanbul. The guide was informative, and the places we visited were truly moving. Everything went smoothly and the experience felt very authentic. Highly recommended.
Really good experience. The guide was friendly and explained the history very well. Gallipoli was emotional and peaceful at the same time. Long day, but definitely worth it if you are visiting Istanbul.
Gallipoli tour was one of the most touching experiences during my stay in Istanbul. The sites were beautiful, quiet, and full of history. Our guide was excellent very informative without rushing us from place to place. I also liked that the tour was comfortable and everything was arranged, including meals. It’s a long journey, but the experience is truly meaningful.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from a one-day Gallipoli tour from Istanbul, but it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. The guide was friendly, informative, and gave a balanced explanation of the history. Visiting places like ANZAC Cove and Chunuk Bair felt very emotional and peaceful at the same time. The tour was well paced with enough time at each stop. A long day for sure, but completely worth it.
We had to leave Istanbul very early in the morning, but this tour was absolutely worth it. The whole experience was perfact and professionally organized. Our guide made the history easy to follow and shared many touching stories throughout the day. Gallipoli itself is incredibly peaceful and moving. I especially appreciated the respectful atmosphere during the visits to the memorials and cemeteries. One of the best tours I joined in Türkiye.

Great trip. I know very little about Gallipoli, and I found the tour very informative and Burat was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. The trip and transfer was exceptionally well organised and there was no mucking round
Waking up early wasn’t easy, but honestly it was 100% worth it. The trip was well organised, and the whole experience felt very genuine. The stories shared during the visit to Gallipoli really stayed with me. It’s not just sightseeing, it’s something deeper. highly recommended.
Yes, it’s a long journey from Istanbul, but I never felt bored or uncomfortable. The guide kept things interesting, and the places we visited were very well chosen. I left the tour feeling like I learned something important, not just saw a new place.
This didn’t feel like a typical tour. Being at Gallipoli Peninsula Historical National Park gives you a different perspective, especially when you hear the stories while standing there. Everything from Istanbul to the return was well planned.
We liked how easy everything was pickup on time, comfortable transport, and no confusion during the day. Gallipoli itself is a very peaceful and emotional place. The guide spoke in a very natural way, not too much, not too little. Just right.

Great guide, lunch was nice but very sad
Simply the best tour guide I’ve ever had. Knowledge and willingness to explain all of our queries first class. Pick up and drop back to hotel in Istanbul went smoothly and drivers and vehicle are good.
The tour delivered an experience filled with emotion and reflection. From the smooth pickup to the well-planned stops along the way, everything felt thoughtful and professional. Walking through the historic sites brought the stories of bravery and loss into sharp focus. Our guide’s heartfelt explanations made the journey unforgettable.

I took the day trip from Istanbul to Gallipoli and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my time in Turkey. It’s definitely a long day — we were picked up around 6:30 AM and got back to the city quite late in the evening — but the visit itself was absolutely worth the journey. The tour was well-organized, with a comfortable minibus, a couple of rest stops, and a nice lunch included near Eceabat. Our guide was excellent — very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the Gallipoli Campaign. He explained the background and stories behind each site, which made the whole experience much more meaningful.Visiting places like ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine, and Chunuk Bair was incredibly moving. Standing there and imagining what happened over a century ago gave me a deep sense of respect for everyone who fought there. The area is peaceful now, surrounded by nature and overlooking the Aegean Sea — a very emotional contrast to its past. highly recommended.
We joined a daily tour from Istanbul to Gallipoli, and it was an incredibly meaningful experience. The day started early with a comfortable pickup from my hotel and a long but scenic drive (around 4.5 hours each way). The journey was well organized — we stopped for breakfast and coffee along the way, which made the trip more pleasant.Once we arrived in Gallipoli, the atmosphere immediately felt special. Walking through the battlefields, memorials, and cemeteries where so many soldiers fought and lost their lives was both humbling and emotional. Our guide was outstanding — very knowledgeable and passionate about the history, sharing stories about both the ANZAC and Turkish sides that really brought the past to life.
This is a great tour and we'll worth the fourteen and a half hours it took. The guide was very knowledgeable. The trip was really quite emotional.
My wife and I joined the Daily Gallipoli Tour from Istanbul, and it was an experience we will never forget. We truly appreciated the chance to learn more about this important chapter of history while sharing the experience as a couple. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Turkey who wants to connect with its rich and powerful past.

As directed we were all ready for collection in our hotel lobby at 6 am, by 7.15am still no pick up. Going through Trip Advisor and then third party I had no name or contact only a bar code. Our lovely hotel receptionist eventually found a contact and the company told me the car was in an accident the night before and our tour was cancelled. We were devastated not to mention the money we had out laid for 6 passengers. Fortunately my money was refunded , and our incredible hotel staff found us a private tour for the same day that was significantly cheaper. Advise dear travellers , unless it is absolute peak season do not book via Trip Advisor , there are so many tour companies in Istanbul , they are cheaper and at least you are dealing with a human and have a place of contact should you need to speak with someone. It was almost a disaster , however we did get to go to Gallipoli on the day planned and it was worth every penny.
I learnt a lot, and enjoyed the experience. The only downside was the weather, it was too hot. 42 degrees. The operator’s, Crowded House, advised they had a problem receding payment for my booking, because of TripAdvisor’s agents. They never asked me for money, but asked that I pass this on!
Need to be contacted. Bogus operator. Ripped off. Want refund. Was not picked up. New Zealanders wanting to get to Anzac
The driver never showed up and the number provided to contact the tour operator did not connect. There was otherwise no attempt to contact via email.
The Gallipoli visit was like a long overdue pilgrimage for me. The guide was very able to communicate all aspects of the campaign in detail and to place the stories I grew up on into context making the trip well worth the effort to visit. Every Kiwi, especially serving military should visit this place to learn and understand the effort, the courage and the determination of our troops. The Turks have made this place a shrine, very rightly, dedicated to their and our soldiers who equally stood their ground and fought to the end, because this campaign forged Türkiye's future leadership, not least being Mustafa Kamal, Kamal Ataturk. All who fought here should be remembered not just for their courage, but also for the cost of adventurism in the pursuit of political ambition.
Our guide allowed us to truly feel the emotions of the experience whilst still allowing us the opportunity to learn details we never knew and covering both sides of each story. I learnt a lot and cried a lot. It was beautiful
The drive was long but as an Australian this was a bucket list item for me and well worth the time out of my trip to Istanbul. The tour guide was amazing; friendly, funny but importantly informative. Gallipoli itself will be something that I never forget! If you have the time I would probably suggest doing to two day tour to see Troy as well.
Such an amazing tour of gallipoli. We were very well looked after on the trip there and back. Picked up from our hotel and dropped back off at the end of the day. The tour of anzac cove and lone pine aswell as other significant sites was incredible. Our tour guide Burak was extremely friendly and hugely knowledgeable of the war sites and stories behind the battles that took place. The whole experience was extremely well organized thanks to crowded house tours for looking after us for the day.
It was a joyful time! We visited many important spots like Shrapnel Valley and the war museum. The guide shared interesting facts about the Gallipoli Campaign, making it more than just a regular tour. It was well-organized and perfect for learning about history.
The Gallipoli day tour from Istanbul was unforgettable. Walking through sites like Lone Pine Cemetery and Shrapnel Valley made the history of World War I feel real. The guide’s stories about the soldiers’ bravery and struggles were deeply moving. The visit to the Kabatepe War Museum added even more depth to the experience, with personal artifacts and detailed exhibits. It was a perfectly paced tour that brought history to life in a powerful way. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the Gallipoli Campaign.
This tour was absolutely amazing. Visiting Gallipoli has been something that I have wanted to do for many many years. In the end, my wife and I opted to do a one day tour from Istanbul, which I was a little worried about given that it is a four hour drive each way. Thankfully, the small group tour option had an excellent Mercedes Vito, which picked us up at 5:30 am from our hotel in Istanbul and returned us at around 8:30pm, leaving about 5 hours for the tour, which was more than enough. Yes, I know, that is a long day, but I would do it again 100 times out of 100 and would highly recommend it to anyone that has even the slightest interest in Gallipoli and/or ANZAC Day, which is continuing to be a most significant day to all Australians. The locations of the battles (and there were many) are ironically beautiful and so one finds themself conflicted all day by the beauty of the place and the reality of what occurred there. Most importantly for this review at least, is how good the tour was that we went on. T.J., who we had to ourselves for the day, knows more about Gallipoli than anyone I have ever met. With an Australian wife, this Turkish guru is able to explain the events and the reasons for their happening from all standpoints (both the Australian and Turkish perspectives). I could have listened to T.J. speak on this subject for a month. He was absolutely amazing and the stories he relates are inspirational and to be honest, mind blowing. How two countries ever found themselves in this situation doing the fighting for others (namely the incompetent British and the cunning Germans) is beyond comprehension. Apologies for the long winded review, but this trip was something I have wanted to do for most of my life and it was simply amazing. Thank you T.J. for a most amazing tour.
It was all memorable although quite eary and teary! Great guide who explained everything with fantastic knowledge. Highly recommend this trip. Comfortable buses too …. Food was the only let down but I didn’t do this trip for the food!
We woke up at 5am to get ready for the tour only to find an email sent a few hours before saying the tour was cancelled due to.water quality!! No alternative was given. I was charged $25 interest on my card for the pleasure of not going. Find someone more reliable, would NOT recommend.
It is truly a magnificent city. I love traveling around this city. I enjoyed this journey very much. Our guide was also very good. He told us heroic stories of the period. We were amazed by the history of the city.
