I've travelled to different parts of the world, but I have never seen such amazing places and above all friendly and nice people. If you are a religious history lover, then look no further. This tour provides you with such deep insights into the roots of the main historical religion developments and historical ruins in the region. The climax was undoubtedly the hot air balloon experience in Cappadocia. The touristic place of Kusadasi offered a wonderful experience to chill out! And what about Pamukalle, a unique scenery moulded over millions of years from mother nature. Complementing our family experience was the appreciation of the making of fine ceramic artefacts through the visits at various Turkish artisan outlets. Ozgur from the City of Sultans Tour was very helpful before and during the visit. All in all, a highly recommendable tour. Indeed a very good value for money.
This trip was an amazing experience, well organized and very detailed to please the customers and see as much as possible. Ahmet is an amazing guide, he has a lot of history knowledge and he makes you have an amazing experience during your tour. We travel all over Turkey with him, and not only he makes sure you have the best experience but at the same time he goes above and beyond to provide the best accommodation for a person who has limited mobility, being sure always a wheelchair was available for me to enjoy the trip. He is an amazing guide and an incredible person.
Wonderful experience! Unforgettable tour. Our tour guides are professional and friendly. The tour is organized very well, efficient and relaxed at the same time.
I really enjoyed the trip…. Ozgur did a wonderful job seamlessly coordinating the various transfers, day trips remotely . He also did an excellent job screening and managing quality of vendor services. The hotels are all in good locations with reasonable services, tour guides are all knowledgeable and patient, drivers are professional and maintain their vehicle in good condition. Although I had a little glitch at the end…. I am staying in Istanbul for a couple of extra days and thought they will be dropping me off to the hotel, I am glad I asked and got clarification the tour ends when we are back in Istanbul ( not where you will be staying). It was just a misunderstanding on my part, I am mentioning this so it’s clear for future travelers. Overall, I highly would recommend this trip.
We are a family of 4 from Canada…traveling with our 17 and 21 year old. Love this tour company. Communication throughout the entire process was a 12 out of 10. Accommodation was exactly what we love - unique/boutique… all in the best locations and clean. The restaurant in Capadoccia where we ate lunch, Areni, was excellent and our favorite and we returned for a dinner another day. The drivers were always on time. The guides were excellent and interesting. This entire trip exceeded our expectations in every way. We will leave Turkey with beautiful memories and are grateful to Ozgur and his team for making this trip a special one for our family.
This was a packed trip. I highly recommend adding the optional balloon ride to Cappadocia trip. Ozgur was very helpful with overall planning and always available. We stayed in Kusadasi for Ephesus/Pamukkale leg of the trip. I wish we had more time on our own in Kusadasi to take the half day cruise and take a later flight from Izmir/Kusadasi to Cappadocia. We added an extra day in Istanbul at the end of our trip for sightseeing and it helped a lot with overall logistics. We had some issues with the driver mixing up airports in Istanbul but luckily we were able to catch our flight. Overall, we had a great experience and I highly recommend this tour package.
City of sultans I would like to give 6stars! And more! I cannot give enough praise for Ozgur and The City of Sultans for making our trip so worry-free and enjoyable. We just got back home last night from Turkey and have already have recommended them to 2 friends, even before writing this review. We only had 4 days and this company made it work for us. Their all-inclusive package is efficient with time and budget. We were very well taken care of. Ozgur goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is amazing. And very responsive on WhatsApp if you’re in another country. They took care of everything, including: - Pick up from and to airports and hotels; amazing and knowledge tour guides (Gulbahar and Deniz); arranging balloon ride in Capadocia (balloon ride not included in package but totally worth paying the extra); - Flight to Izmir and hotel stay, transportation and tour guide (Barbaros) for Ephesus. - Day trip to Pamukkale with transportation and tour guide. - flight back to Istanbul. It was such a hassle free tour and we made the most of our time at each of these places and could bring back happy memories because we just showed up to enjoy ourselves while the City of Sultans did all the work. We could not have done it so efficiently and would’ve paid a lot more if we tried to do it ourselves. I highly recommend this company
We joined for the Ephesus leg of the tour and we absolutely LOVED it! So much incredible history and our guide, Coray, provided us with so much information! We cant quite believe that he could remember all of that and never had to refer to notes or anything. We learnt so much during our tour and none of that would've been possible if we had merely taken the tour privately and researched the information ourselves. We highly highly recommend using City of Sultans for not only the Ephesus day trip but any trip around Turkey. You will definitely get your monies worth and even more :)
I want to thank Ozgur for an exceptional job with our tour, flawless no issues whatsoever. I also want to thank each and everyone of our tour guides Mehmet, Riza, Aaron, Aylin, and the funny tour guy in Cappadocia that I forgot his name. Our experience was very pleasant and will come back in the future. Will recommend City of Sultans to everyone, We are actually planning of coming back to Turkey, to much to see for such a great country. People are friendly and food is great.
I had an amazing 9 day tour of Turkey with Ozgur and City of Sultans. From arrival to departure, everything was handled seamlessly. I am normally one to plan my own trips, but due to last minute changes I decided to try a tour company. I am so glad I did. I was able to explore three large regions of Turkey and have zero worries about arranging transportation, hotel, or tour guides. Ozgur took care of everything and was open to communication via whatsapp at anytime. If I had any issues, he was very quick to remedy it, and also helped me arrange covid-19 test prior to departure. I am so thankful for this company for allowing me to have a pleasant, once in a lifetime trip to Turkey. I cannot recommend this company more highly
Thanks to Ozgur at City of Sultans for coordinating my tour and always being available to answer my questions and checking up on me. All my transfers and pick ups were on time so I never had to worry about that. Because my travel took place in August 2020 and Turkeys tourism is just starting to reopen after months of shutdown, I was recieved happily by all my tour guides and very lucky to see so many of Turkey's amazing sites without crowds of other tourists which made the experience even better! All the tour guides were knowledgeable, kind, patient, and flexible. And they all offered to help with taking pictures. Thank you to Bahshir (?) In Istanbul, Riza in Ephesus and Pamukkale and of course Ozay in Cappadocia!!! I'm so happy I got to see so many beautiful sites and learn so much in just a week!
We were late to the game when it came to planning our Turkey trip and relied heavily on Ozgur of City of Sultans to make this trip a reality for us. Outside of the flights to and from Turkey we had Ozgur plan all the logistics. Excellent attention to detail with everything planned from hotel, tours, local airfare, pick-up and drop-off from airport and hotels. Our guides in Istanbul (Baris), Cappadocia (Ozzy) and Kusadasi/Pammukale (Riza) were very knowledgeable and were there to assist every step of the way. Ozgur is very responsive and kept in touch throughout the planning as well as during our stay in Turkey. He went out of his way to make sure everything was taken care of. If you are looking for a worry-free vacation in Turkey I would highly recommend working with Ozgur.
Best travel partner For Turkey.Very pocket friendly, well organized arrangements, nice accomodations, very cordial behavior.Infact they are just a call away to help you.Well packed itinerary.Highly satisfied. Most recommend.Next time if I plan for Turkey I will only prefer them.
Arrangements done perfectly and within budget. Care was taken to accommodate requests and personalised iterinary created. Everything was delivered or arranged on time. Guides assigned were knowledgable, helpful and also gave space to ourselves. We would definitely recommend to all.
Touring with city of sultans was a very pleasant and comfortable experience. They took care of all our requests, and ensured that we had nothing to worry about in a foreign land. Also, both Aydin and osgur were available at all times on call. Would love or tour again with them on our next trip to Turkey! Highly recommended for both professionalism and for taking personal care of guests.
My wife and I have had a great experience of visiting Turkey. COS arranged all our trips immaculately There were reps at all points on time and good guides. Would recommend COS to any international traveller who would like to see Turkey. Nice central location hotels , good transport.
We booked 7 night 8 days Turkey package with City of Sultans covering Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus, Kusadasi & Pamukkale. It is one of the best trip which I had till now due to the way City of Sultans planned the trip. Had not faced a single issue on trip. Special thanks to Mr. Ozgur & Mr Aydin for planning it a best memorable trip. Also, they made it a very comfortable stay in Turkey. A big thanks to City of Sultans 😊👍🏻
We had an excellent tour from the first class accommodations, to quality guides, to well organized connections, and, most importantly, to beautiful natural and historic sites. Each day brought new wonders, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Osgur was very helpful introducing us to our itinerary, and accommodating us by arranging additional nights in Istanbul and airport transfers after our tour. We loved Turkey and hope to return soon.
I went for a 12 day Turkey tour through this agency and covered Istan, Pamu, Cappa, Ephesu. I'm overall very happy with their service except for two incidents. Good first: Since I got in touch with City of Sultans through travel triangle (also a recommended aggregator to get good quotes from several agencies)- An agent was in touch with me over whatsaap..answering all my questions, working with me around the itinerary. He also changed my hotel on my request. The quote and response of this agency was the best amongst others who responded to my request. The agent came to meet me on day 1 at Istanbul.. wich was pretty sweet since I was travelling alone. The agency was in touch with me through the trip on whatsaap and there were no goofups in the itinerary. Basically they would put me on different day tours they organize in different locations so I met a new group each time.. that was fun too! Agency also organized hot air baloon ride an evening before the ride for me which was one of the highlights of the trip! At one point they helped me reconnect with my group when I had lost them in a day tour through whatsaap. That was real big help - but that guy jokingly asked for a 'long kiss' in return which was the first negative experience with the agency. The second was the fact that I had made it very clear to tem that I want to stay in a cave hotel in cappaddocia, my invoice mentioned a cave hotel but I was made to stay in a standard hotel at cappadocia, which was not changed even when I complained. This hotel wasnt bad but the thrill of living in a cave.. I couldnt experince it. But overall - Im grateful to City of Sultans for an awesome n seamless trip!
Whenever I travel to different countries, I believe in trying out the services of the local tour operators as they have better knowledge and are relatively cheaper. It is also a risk as they can give bad service and one can end up having a bad experience. Thankfully, I have always seen the good side. While booking my family trip for Turkey, I looked at many travel operators and the reviews of City of Sultans was encouraging. So I went ahead with them. My point of contact was Mr. Ozgur Ates who was wonderful. We touched base almost 9 months ago my date of travel but he was patient and helped with all our doubts. Gave his own suggestions and also gave us the best hotels and experience in our budget. If you book through City of Sultans then please connect with Ozgur. Regarding the actual trip - food was good virtually everywhere we went, guides in Istanbul - Unal was world class, Didem in Cappadocia was also very warm and nice. Our guide in Kusadasi - Ilker was a bit of a salesman so tried to get us to do a lot of things but he meant well . All in all, I regret not staying for a longer time. Do communicate clearly what you want and they will not disappoint you. My only area of improvement would be improving a bit on the English so that there are no communication gaps and also look at some free bonuses (they did give us a room upgrade in Cappadocia) but we got single beds in Kusadasi due to no fault of theirs. Overall 5 star service and will use them again when I decide to visit Turkey. I am surprised they are ranked 101 out of 456 as they should be in top 10 easily. Thank you CityofSultans for making Turkey memorable.

TOURS, VEHICLES and GUIDES:
All the tours were very good, basically due to the fact that Turkey has lots to offer in terms of history, culture and scenery.

Only the Istanbul city tour was a walking tour and we wouldve preferred to do this during a cooler season. Even when we were driven around in airconditioned vehicles for some of the tours, the heat was just too much to cool down a group of 10 or more people inside a mini-bus.

Although all the tour guides were knowledgeable and pleasant, we were particularly pleased with Ilkay Ephesus and Pergamon and Serkan South Cappadocia.

Warning: dont go into the underground city if youre claustrophobic part of South Cappadocia tour.

We were also brought to those shops selling carpets and jewellery, snacks, ceramics, leather. If you have no intention of buying, or if you have seen enough of them, and if you are in a private tour as we were, you can always tell the tour guide to skip it.

The shuttle service at Cappadocia airport could be better. We missed seeing the Goreme open-air museum just because we waited too long for other passengers. It turns out that the passengers belong to different tours and are to be dropped off at different locations, such a waste of time!

HOTELS:
Recital Hotel - ok with respect to proximity to main tourist spots, very friendly staff

Ilayda Avantgarde Hotel - nice and relatively new hotel, good location, breath-taking view especially at the dining area

Fresco Cave Hotel - very unique hotel, the staff and hotel manager were all very friendly and accommodating

FOOD:
Although the tour description indicates 3 dinners included, there were no dinners provided.

TOUR OPERATOR: City of Sultans COS
COS emailed me before the trip saying that, Our representative will welcome you at the airport on your arrival. He will give your tour documents, and he will also advise you what you can do on your free days. This never happened.

I actually was looking forward to this meeting because I had additional requests, those which I sent messages to COS about, but they never replied. Instead, a driver picked us up at the airport and dropped us at the backside of the hotel and not at the lobby entrance. Being first timers in Istanbul and not being familiar with the hotel vicinity, we realized too late that the entrance to the hotel was a flight of stairs down and the driver had already sped off with our tip. Travelling with my mom, who is a senior citizen, I had to carry 2 suitcases of easily 15kg each down a flight of stairs to get to the hotel lobby for check-in. I understand that this tour I booked doesn't really entail special treatment, but come on. It's ok not to give us additional comfort, but at least don't give us unnecessary hardship.

Since the first day on the itinerary is free and easy, may I suggest you book your own tour to fill up your day, either thru viator or thru your hotel. Dont depend on COS to do the arrangements for you, they only offer you basic service included in the package.

Most importantly, I wanted to book the hot air balloon directly with COS so as to make sure it doesnt conflict with any tour schedule they had for us. I did not receive any response regarding this, although I wrote to inquire a few times before the trip. Luckily the tour director at Flinstones Travel was able to squeeze us into one of the tours. We had to wait until we were in Cappadocia to be able to secure slots. Imagine the great disappointment we wouldve felt if we werent able to experience this activity.

I also requested for a quotation for additional services since we wanted to extend our stay in Istanbul. I was inquiring for airport transfers to and from our hotel, but no answer. Inquired about the Whirling Dervish show, still no answer even just to reject the inquiry. I eventually made the necessary arrangements on my own, I guess I shouldnt have taken their word seriously that they would be happy to assist us in our stay in Turkey.

Lastly, at the culmination of the tour, there was this sort of customary thank you for choosing us letter and in it said, The highest compliment our customers give us is recommend us to a Friend. From what I have written here, please make the judgement whether you want to take this tour.

I have joined several tours on viator and most of them took good care of us, even those half-day or day tours. This tour package was an extended tour of 8 days and it wasnt even a cheap tour to begin with. Do not expect top notch service like what youd receive from some agencies who would direct you from airport to hotel to airport, who carried your luggage for you, who made sure of all conveniences are accorded to you. Expect the most basic, basic services.
