Wyndham Grand Istanbul Kalamis Marina Hotel

If there was an option for 0 stars it wouldn’t do this hotel justice. Me and my partner booked for our anniversary via booking.com - booking was confirmed both ends. Upon arrival we are told that they can’t find our booking and that they needed payment before hand… we showed them our booking, showed it was still confirmed then they began to think of more lies. “Oh we sent you a message” *shows no message* “Oh no but we tried to call” *shows no missed calls* Each time they were caught out; they would desperately try to think of another lie - it was extremely unprofessional, and the fact that two people can travel 5 hours away solely to reside at the hotel it comes across very inconsiderate especially given the occasion. My partner was constantly stared at by security, provoked and given dirty looks - despite us just speaking our case. We were also told - “oh it’s because of the Fenerbahçe match”… this proved no relevance to us. Our booking was made MONTHS before, so many months ago the fixture wasn’t even released. They nodded their heads in acknowledgement and their faces dropped in pity - we were told “we understand”?! , what does this do for us…. I know they will not reply to this review; they know full well who we are - no alternative accommodation was made available. Here’s a tip, don’t stay at their hotel unless you want to be left without a room on your travels. Even if you do pay before hand, they may give your room to someone else if a match day can bring them more money. It would’ve been such a beautiful time for my partner and I if we stayed here, it’s such a shame it had to pan out this way.

I have visited many hotels of this kind in Istanbul and this one for sure is up there for one of the best I have experienced. Interesting fact is, you would expect rooms for a luxury hotel to look more historic. But here it is actually more modern but really premium and certainly giving you the feeling that you are at a luxury, premium hotel in Istanbul. Which is a nice feeling. There is also a lot of things you can do in this hotel, which is ideal for vacation purposes I can already tell. But it is also the ideal hotel for business purposes. Beds are really comfortable and you have a very spacious room. I would love to come back here for a vacation. Thanks for the great stay, to the staff whom are really good and friendly people.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 A pleasant stay with excellent and friendly service I had a very pleasant stay at the Wyndham Grand Istanbul Kalamış Marina. Overall, the hotel is clean and well maintained, and I was very satisfied with the service. The staff were consistently friendly, polite and helpful. I would especially like to express my sincere thanks to Mr. Berkay from the Bellboy team. He was exceptionally helpful, attentive and professional. It was clear that he takes great pride in his work and genuinely enjoys helping guests. I was particularly pleased that he made an effort to speak German with me, which was a great help and made me feel very comfortable. I truly appreciated his kindness and support. The air conditioning in my room worked very well, and the room temperature was very comfortable. The hotel in general was also pleasantly cool and well air-conditioned. The elevators and the other facilities were also well maintained and worked without any problems. The breakfast was good, with a reasonable variety of choices, although I would not describe it as exceptional. One thing I would recommend improving is the music in the breakfast area. It was quite loud in the morning and made it difficult to enjoy a calm and relaxing breakfast. Another point I found a little disappointing was the price of the drinks, especially the wine. I found the prices quite high. When I asked about this, I was told that this was because the hotel is in Istanbul. I understand that prices can vary depending on the location, but personally I still found the drinks rather expensive. The airport transfer could also be improved. It was quite difficult for me to find the driver because there was no clearly visible sign with either my name or the hotel name. A more obvious sign showing the guest’s name or the hotel name would make the meeting point much easier to find. Overall, I had a good experience at the hotel. The friendly, attentive and professional staff were definitely one of the strongest aspects of my stay, and I would be happy to return. M.Henrich

I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Great place, exceptional rooms and facilities. Fantastic staff especially Merve who assisted with booking after we decided to leave another hotel early and come back here. Kid loves it and they're very accommodating. Will definitely return, already miss it! Well done! Love the hotel cats too 🐈
