Samir Deluxe Hotel

Our stay was extremely disappointing. The room was dirty, had a musty smell, mould in the bathroom, stained and scribbled walls, and filthy curtains. There was no rubbish bin in the room, only in the bathroom. The toilet seat was broken and kept falling off every day. We had to put it back ourselves, and despite reporting the problem every single day, the staff completely ignored it and never fixed it. The air conditioning didn't work. Even when set to 16°C, it only made a loud noise without cooling the room. The walls were extremely thin, so we could hear everything from neighbouring rooms, and the Wi-Fi was poor. We were provided with only half a roll of toilet paper. When we received none the following day, I asked reception for two rolls and carried them to our room myself. After cleaning, the housekeeper took one roll away and left only one behind. We had to ask for toilet paper at reception every day. I reported the mouldy, dirty bathroom immediately after arrival and requested proper cleaning. The next day, nothing had changed, so I complained again. Only on the third day did the staff make more effort, but even then, the bathroom was still not properly cleaned. The lift broke down on the second day and remained out of order for the following three days. We had to use the stairs throughout this time, as the hotel failed to repair it during our stay. Breakfast was identical every day, with very limited variety. There was only one type of salami and approximately one type of cheese. Almost all the food was Turkish, with practically no alternatives for guests who didn't enjoy Turkish flavours. For them, the only option was essentially bread with margarine every morning. This is supposedly a 4-star hotel, but it doesn't deserve even 1 star! The hygiene, maintenance, facilities, breakfast, and customer service were unacceptable. We had to repeatedly complain about basic necessities, yet the staff failed to resolve the problems properly. This hotel fell far below any reasonable standard, and we would never stay here again. I will attach photos as evidence of the conditions we experienced during our stay.

Amazing hotel with great aspects such as its location such as being close to grand monuments like the blue mosque and some of the best staff at any hotel I have stayed at. The rooms are to a high standard and well maintained. They also offer a great breakfast with amazing rooftop views.

Very bad hotel. The morning shift receptionist on 1 July was extremely unprofessional, rude, and discriminatory in his behavior. I also felt that he was dishonest in the way he handled my situation. Instead of helping guests, he damages the hotel’s reputation and undermines the good image the hotel is trying to maintain.
