NO WATER & TISSUE PAPER AVAILABLE DISAPPOINTING…. The most disappointing aspect of my stay was the lack of basic necessities. Water was not provided every day, and there were no tissue papers available in the room. As guests, we had to purchase these basic essentials ourselves, which was very unsatisfactory. I would strongly recommend that the hotel ensure these basic necessities are consistently provided to all guests. These are simple yet essential amenities that can make a significant difference to the overall guest experience.

**Extremely disappointing experience – unacceptable staff behavior** I arrived at **Metropolitan Hotels Taksim today, 02 September 2026, at approximately 5:00 PM**, with a confirmed reservation and a scheduled departure on **07 September 2026**. Unfortunately, my experience from the moment I arrived was extremely disappointing, mainly because of the unacceptable and unprofessional behavior of the receptionist. I expected a normal, respectful, and professional check-in process. Instead, the receptionist spoke to me in a very rude, aggressive, and confrontational manner. She did not even show a willingness to properly check or verify my reservation and immediately started dealing with me in an unnecessarily hostile way. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was the way she handled our passports. Rather than calmly explaining the hotel’s procedures and assisting us as guests, her attitude was aggressive and confrontational, making the entire check-in experience extremely unpleasant. I completely understand that hotels have procedures and that identification documents may be required during check-in. However, **there is absolutely no excuse for treating guests disrespectfully or speaking to them in an aggressive and hostile manner.** I have stayed at many hotels and have dealt with hotel staff in different countries, and I understand that misunderstandings can happen. However, basic courtesy, professionalism, and respect for guests should be the minimum standard in the hospitality industry. This was honestly **one of the worst reception experiences I have ever had**. The management should seriously review this incident and provide proper customer-service training to the front desk staff. A hotel’s first impression starts at the reception desk, and unfortunately, the way I was treated gave me a very negative impression of the hotel from the moment I arrived. **I would not recommend this hotel based on this experience, and I sincerely hope the management takes this complaint seriously and ensures that other guests are not treated in the same way.** **Arrival:** 02 September 2026 at approximately 5:00 PM **Departure:** 07 September 2026
I’m quite disappointed with my experience at this hotel. The room itself was good and comfortable, but the bathroom had an unpleasant smell, which definitely affected the overall experience. What disappointed me the most, however, was the treatment from the staff, especially the manager. The way she responded to us felt very rude and unwelcoming, almost as if she was annoyed with us for asking questions or needing assistance. I understand that the hotel may have been busy and fully booked, but being busy is not an excuse for speaking to guests without basic respect and courtesy. Guests deserve to feel welcomed and respected, regardless of how busy the hotel is. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the way guests are treated, because good customer service is just as important as having a good room.
My friend and I feel very uncomfortable staying in this hotel! It is no way even a 2 star hotel. We came to get surgeries and planned to recover in the hotel. 1. The staff do not speak English. The concierge/door man guy is super creepy. He would be the one who came to our room for any problems we called about. WiFi not working, they said they’ll send an engineer, he turned up. Air con not working, they said they’ll will fix - they did not. Instead he started making jokes about how we keep complaining. 2. WIFI is non existent, we could not call our families without it breaking up, or cutting out. Even WhatsApp messages would not work. We complained everyday, and all they told us was that there is 200 people in this hotel and only we seem to be the ones having problems. After coming on here I saw other reviews with the same issues. They did nothing to fix this. We had to go to other cafes for WiFi. 3. The air con does not work. The first day it did, the rest of the week it didn’t. We spoke to reception this morning again, they said they’ll get it fixed. It’s 11pm at night, nothing is fixed and we feel uncomfortable to call them again, as they will just send that creepy door man guy, so we will just suffer one more night rather than have to deal with him. 4. The bathroom has a disgusting sewage smell, it does not go away. We cannot have a shower or brush teeth/ wash face because it makes you want to throw up. 🤮 The shower leaks, and you have to hold the shower head in your hand because there is no holder on the wall. 5. The hallway on our floor reeks is cigarettes! As soon as you open the door it hits you! You hold your breath to get to the lift. 6. We lock the door at night, never have felt so uncomfortable/unsafe in a hotel. 7. Food is not fresh, I ordered chicken fillet and it was as hard as a rubber shoe sole. Couldn’t even chew it. 8. The reception staff is not helpful at all, they ignore you and do not help or sort anything at all!
Good and comfortable rooms for the price, good room and hotel service. Wifi is abit slow but still works fine. Breakfast is decent and simple. Reception usually only gives you one room card so make sure to ask for 2 if you have partners. Black Mercedes Van from the hotel to airport can also be arranged for a good price. Overall good stay for 4 nights with a good price
