I had a wonderful stay at Maywood Hotel, and what made it truly special was the hospitality of the staff. I arrived at around 2 a.m., and because the hotel was fully booked, an early check-in wasn’t possible. However, they kindly provided me with a room with a couch where I could relax while waiting. The manager was exceptionally friendly and kept checking on me to make sure I was comfortable. This thoughtful attention made a great first impression. The breakfast was good, and the location was fantastic, making it easy to explore the city. The swimming pool was surprisingly cold, but having a sauna available was a great bonus to warm up in afterwards! The waiters were also very friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. On my checkout day, the hotel even gave me a little gift, which genuinely meant a lot to me. These small gestures make you feel welcomed and cared for as a guest. One of my favourite moments was on my last day, when a staff member personally accompanied me to the metro station and showed me how to navigate the metro towards the airport. As a traveller, especially when heading to the airport, this kind of personal assistance makes such a difference. Maywood Hotel is a place where the little things really matter. The staff go beyond simply providing accommodation; they make an effort to ensure you feel welcome and supported. I truly appreciated their kindness and hospitality and would happily recommend this hotel to other travellers!

We had stayed a week for a family holiday, we booked one double and one triple rooms. Overall, we had a very good stay at the hotel. The property was exceptionally clean and very well maintained, and the rooms were much more spacious than expected. We specifically requested front-facing rooms, and the hotel accommodated us with two front-facing rooms on the same floor, which was excellent. Although the room size was listed as approximately 13 m², the rooms felt considerably larger in reality. The triple room in particular was very spacious, with plenty of usable space and two TVs. The cleanliness was outstanding, with excellent housekeeping throughout our stay. The breakfast was also very good and varied, with a good selection of food. One rather surprising issue, given the otherwise good standard of the hotel, was the lack of some very basic in-room amenities. Although the rooms had a kettle and cups, there was no drinking water provided in the room at all during our stay, and no bottled water was replenished daily. There was also no tea, coffee, or sugar available for use, and no facial/hand tissues. This was particularly surprising because other amenities, such as slippers and bathrobes, were provided normally. These are relatively inexpensive and basic items, so their absence felt unusual and somewhat inconsistent with the otherwise good standard of the hotel. Unfortunately, we also experienced a significant issue regarding the breakfast conditions stated in our reservation. The hotel insisted on charging more than the terms confirmed in our booking. When I raised the issue, the first daytime receptionist, Ahmed, told me that he had contacted Booking.com and that Booking.com had agreed to the higher charge. However, he provided no reference, confirmation, or evidence of such an agreement. I subsequently contacted Booking.com myself and reported this statement to them. The situation later became more difficult with another receptionist, Mustafa, whose manner towards me was very rude and unprofessional. I formally raised my concerns with the hotel management and brought the matter to the attention of the hotel manager, Mr. Anwar. To his credit, Mr. Anwar handled the situation professionally and resolved the matter smoothly. His intervention was constructive and helped bring the situation to a satisfactory conclusion. Despite these issues, the hotel's exceptional cleanliness, spacious rooms, good breakfast, and the professional intervention of Mr. Anwar made the overall stay a positive one. With better attention to basic in-room amenities and more consistent professionalism at reception, the hotel could provide a considerably stronger overall experience.
Excellent hospitality, spotless rooms, and incredibly helpful staff who were always there whenever we needed anything. The location was perfect as well — right next to the ferry port, close to Galata Bridge, and near a tram stop. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it.
We were a group of 4 couple in Istanbul for a 4 days trip, we had double/twin regular rooms. Location: Hotel is very centrally located, within walking distance of Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Galata Bridge, tram, subway, restaurant, shops, banks, ATM and other key attractions. Reception and staff: Very good interaction with Reception, staff and even the hotel manager. From reception we received a tourist map of Istanbul with info, locations and trips recommendations. If you want cheaper or better, there are plenty of options in Istanbul. Accommodation: I had room 315. Room clean, big enough for 2 adults, with luggage and all, relatively new furniture. The bed is a bit small compared to European standards, but overall we slept well for 3 nights. The room had a large window, overlooking the courtyard behind the hotel and half of the hotel building, with lots of natural light. Our bathroom was large, all working well, we had hot&cold water at every hour of the day&night. No noise issue. No issue with the elevators, we used the ones in the back of hotel, not those in the lobby that are used by so many guests. Hotel overall was clean and amenities working well. Breakfast: a regular hotel breakfast, with omlette and fried egg station. Has few of everything. For us it was just perfect. For 2-3 days is ok, if you stay longer you might get bored of same things. If you want more, there are plenty of restaurants around to have a typical turkish breakfast. Cons No minibar/Water in the room, but there is a vending machine in the lobby and a store next to hotel. Not related to hotel: of course the surrounding area is heavily oriented toward tourists and prices are higher. If you move out a little bit of this zone, you can find restaurants, shops etc with fair prices.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Istanbul. It was a very good choice for our trip. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. One of the highlights was the rich and delicious breakfast. The employees in the kitchen did an excellent job preparing everything and making sure there was a great variety of food each morning. The staff was very kind and welcoming. When we left, they even gave us a small gift — Turkish lokum — which was a lovely gesture and a nice way to end our stay. We were very satisfied with our stay and will definitely book this hotel again when we visit Istanbul in the future. I highly recommend it.
