Golden Age Hotel

Absolutely terrible experience — avoid this hotel. My stay at Golden Age Hotel was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The reception staff were extremely rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. At one point, I was even called a liar by the reception staff simply because I complained about the problems we were facing. Our shower was not working properly for four consecutive days, and despite repeatedly informing the hotel, they failed to fix it. What made the situation even worse was that they refused to change our room, even though I was willing to pay for an upgrade to get a better room and simply have a normal, comfortable stay. Instead of taking responsibility and helping their guests, the reception staff treated us with disrespect and made the whole situation even more frustrating. In the end, we had no choice but to leave the hotel and move to another one, losing our money because they refused to provide any refund. A hotel can have an old room or a technical problem — these things can happen. But disrespecting guests, calling them liars, refusing to solve a basic problem for four days, and refusing even a room change or upgrade is completely unacceptable. I strongly do NOT recommend Golden Age Hotel. The attitude of the reception staff alone was enough to ruin the entire experience. If you value basic respect, proper customer service, and having your problems actually addressed, *stay somewhere else.

The room was shockingly dirty. Under the beds we found leftovers from previous guests, including mandarin peels and chips. Because of this, the room was infested with insects – cockroaches and ants. There was also a strong, unpleasant smell of cigarette smoke that had soaked into the furniture and fabrics. Another disappointing issue was the spa. The hotel advertises it as free, but in reality it is only free until 6:00 p.m. After that, guests are required to pay an additional fee. This important restriction is not made clear in the advertisement.

We spent 4 nights in this hotel. I want to put an honest review. The staff were amazing, really helpful and respectful. They offer free tea and coffee and cookies as a tea-time treat every day. The breakfast was varied and well-served. Our room was cleaned and serviced every day and they also offered us a complementary 30minutes free massage 😊. The location is really close to Taksim square. The only downside of this hotel was the size of the rooms; the rooms were a little bit too small intended for a double-bed room; but since we did not have many luggages it wasn't a big problem for us. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay there and will recommend this lovely hotel.

The location was so good for us as you can access the tram and the metro easily. Near by Istkilal st. And the Galata tower is 20 min away ( walking). The Wifi was so bad!! The worst Wifi experience ever. The breakfast was so good, my recommendation is to add more options but it was good and the coffee corner was great. The room is a little bit small. The reception team were helpful and they can speak English which is great.
