Doubletree By Hilton Hotel Istanbul - Moda

I stayed at this Doubletree Hotel for 10 days this summer with my teenage children. Moda is a great neighborhood as a base for visiting various parts of Istanbul. The neighborhood itself is also bustling, and there are many affordable, good restaurants in the immediate vicinity. There are many locals and relatively few tourists. The hotel is beautiful, and the service from all departments is great. We received an upgrade to a high floor and enjoyed the view over the water and the city. We are tall people and enjoyed the very good and spacious beds. For the children, the lovely rooftop pool was a huge addition to the holiday fun! Plenty of sunbeds, free towels, parasols, and a light sea breeze. Wonderful! The breakfast buffet is generous and well-presented. The only downside is the sewage smell that occasionally spread into the bathroom. We sometimes smelled this on the street as well, so perhaps Istanbul has a sewage problem? In a hotel, this should be relatively easy to fix by a good plumber.

We are spoiled travelers and Hilton Honors members so let me give it to you straight and simple. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and will return to do it again. The location is perfect for us coming across on the boat from Besiktas and walking into the hotel. Then an easy walk along the sea side in the Moda park and to Ciya for dinner. We had a perfect room with view of the peninsula and port and high enough (5th floor and above is our recommendation). A “shout out” to Kerem at the Front Desk for the warm welcome and support that made the first impression on the politeness and professionalism of the staff. The room fit perfectly to our expectation and the location perfect for our use. Breakfast was included in our booking and well worth it. Breakfast staff and were wonderful. We tried the outdoor (roof) pool twice and walked away twice. Not for us! Hard to call it a pool as you cannot swim a lap. More like a big tub for the kids, which was the only use we saw. Fortunately, the indoor pool, workout facility, sauna and steam were included and that made our day! A wonderful set up that is obviously a membership club for the locals and well worth it. We will happily repeat this routine.

We stayed on the 11th floor King Jr Suite Sea View, with a panoramic view of Istanbul's beautiful city and sea. We started our day every morning with the hotel's breakfast! I highly recommend you request a special made omelette or egg of choice and enjoy the lavish spread of breads, dishes, and sweets of all flavors Istanbul. The chef, Recep, was so accommodating and gracious with our family. He came over every day to greet us and ask if we needed anything. We used the rooftop pool a few times with gorgeous views of the city and service was always quick with good food & drinks. Hibiscus Lemonade is wonderful! The staff at the hotel was overly welcoming, service was fantastic, and food was always a 10! Merve was very pleasant during check-in. The housekeeping service was amazing and we used it everyday, always lovely to come back to a clean room after a long day of walking Istanbul's streets. They provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash, and lotion in the bathroom. We used the laundry service and it was fresh, folded, and returned next day. This was the best hotel experience we have had in Istanbul and we have traveled here many times.

I stayed in Hilton for Business and pleasure in June 2026. The hotel location is awesome, it is so close to Kadıköy Karşı, where there are so many small restaurants and cute taverns. We got a great tip from the concierge (Utku Bey) for a dinner. For transport to Sultanahmet there are boats again 5 min walking distance and it is great. The rooms are super clean and the bed was so comfortable (H3). Moreover the employees at the reception were always very helpful, for reservations, for local helps, they are professional and friendly, especially Kerem Bey helped me a lot with my planning for Sultanahmet visit.
