I had an amazing experience on this 3-day, 2-night Amazon tour! Our guide, Wilson, was fantastic! He explained everything in detail and shared so much knowledge about the Amazon. I was lucky enough to see pink river dolphins, and he also taught me how to catch piranhas Everything was well organized, and the whole experience was really enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Amazon!
We had a wonderful 3 days in the Amazon Rainforest! Frank was our inspirational tour guide. He was super attentive throughout each activity and answered all our various questions. We managed to see so much wildlife, from sloths to frogs, as well as pink dolphins, and even visited Monkey Island. The meals were also fantastic and kept us full throughout the day. We would highly recommend this tour to others.
Excellent experience all around. The full flavor of Amazon Jungle, a beautiful ride and views of Amazon River, Blackwater river, the Tree of Life, a night boat ride of the lake to listen to the night sounds of the jungle. Our guide Eduardo was great. He was a real jungle man, very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the region. We saw pink dolphins, visited Monkey Island, found a real anaconda my husband put on his shoulders (!) and many other species. The meals were included and the food was great. The captain and the service people were very attentive to the tourists. We highly recommend this tour!
Alan was our tour guide. He was fabulous. He made sure we saw lots of animals. He took us on day and night hikes and canoe rides. I can’t recommend him enough He was accommodating for our abilities.
For me this trip was better than the time I spent in Cusco. I went with the guide and creator of the company Alan. The three days that I spent in the Amazon jungle were incredible from piraña fishing, walks in the jungle, and searching for caiman at night, I truly believe this trip will stay with me forever. I believe the price is fair and you don’t spend a lot of time sitting around, and even when you are waiting for the next activity you are surrounded by the noises of the jungle that never sleeps which keeps you entertained. The only downside I could see for some people is the lack of electricity but I believe when you go the jungle electricity shouldn’t be what your focused on. 5/5 Gracias
A fantastic experience. Francisco was an exceptional tour guide, friendly, funny, and highly knowledgeable. We were treated with the utmost care and respect during our stay. All of the staff at the lodge were extremely kind and attentive - the gentleman who worked behind the dining counter and maintained the area was so kind, as was Pablito who served our food. The food was excellent - thank you to Tatiana the chef! The rooms were comfortable and protected from mosquitos and other insects. Each excursion was fascinating. There was enough time to rest and nothing was too physically demanding, so I would recommend this to everyone. Thank you to Allen and his team for an unforgettable experience.
An Unforgettable Three Days in the Amazon with an Amazing Guide We spent three incredible days in the Amazon jungle with Amazon Aventour Expeditions Overall, we were very happy with this adventure, and here are the main highlights of our trip: What we loved the most: Our guide, Paolo. We were incredibly lucky to have Paolo as our guide! He was extremely attentive to everyone in our group, patiently answered all of our questions, and genuinely went above and beyond to make our journey unforgettable. No language barrier A huge plus was Paolo’s excellent, clear, and easy-to-understand English, which made communication smooth and comfortable. Wildlife sightings.Unfortunately, we didn't manage to see a large number of animals (the wild jungle is always unpredictable). However, the ones we did catch a glimpse of were fascinating and left us with wonderful memories. Even though wildlife only showed us a fraction of its inhabitants, Paolo’s professionalism and the great organization by Amazon Aventour Expeditions made this expedition a 100% success. Highly recommended!
We had a great time and an amazing experience. Francisko our guide is very knowledgable about the area, its history, the people and the fauna and flora and was very helpful in explaining everything. Maria, our cook served us delicious meals every day and Americo our receptionist is a very friendly and sweet guy! We stayed there for 2 nights and every little excursion was a very interesting and amazing experience!
We have 8 peoples had a wonderful trip! Great food and good service!
We had an amazing time! Thank you so much to Luis, Julio, Herman, and Pancho for your hospitality and dedication. Truly a kind group of people. Our itinerary was flexible based on what we wanted to do and we got to do everything we hoped for and more. Pancho taught us so much and helped us navigate the jungle with confidence. The lodging was comfortable and provided electricity and WiFi at specific times/places. We felt very protected from mosquitoes in our cabin. We also really enjoyed the meals! Huge portions and delicious cooking. Thank you everyone for a magical experience, we won’t forget it.
The experience was wonderful, we were able to be in contact with nature and get to know different species of animals, tour during the day and night. The accommodation was fine and the transportation too.
Very good tour, me and my son enjoyed everything, the tour guy Allen was great. The food at the lodge was very good.
Allen!!! Amazing tour guide!!! I had spent almost 3 weeks trying to find the best version of this trip. After reading ample reviews I settled on this trip and it didn’t disappoint. The accommodation is secure for personal belongings. The food was actually amazing fresh meat salad and rice for each meal!!! And fresh juice each day! The trips were well planned with a decent rest gap between!! Even scary trips like kayaking on the river in darkness I felt safe with our guide. Every time we saw something he knew exactly what it was and showed us the history!!! A few pointers which I wish I’d of known prior are: The complaint of cold showers isn’t an issue we were sweating 80% of the time so a cold shower was needed. The designated room is lockable so all valuables are safe. The purified water isn’t great so either bring bottled water with you or buy it on site WiFi between 7am and 10pm in main area only after that there’s no electricity Bring small change for tribe tips but it isn’t forced Insects are a battle so bring lots of bug spray
Jungle lodge was great. Nice food every day. The guide Allan was very nice and explained many things about the jungle.
Amazing experience, Tony knows a lot about local flora and fauna. We saw pink dolphins, Sagino monkeys, a sloth, millions of birds and we learned how to climb an aguaje palm tree. <3
This was a great trip. We did a morning activity then 1pm lunch, afternoon activity then 7pm dinner and then a night walk and next night boat ride. Everything was great
Great experience! Our guide Allen spoke excellent English, enjoyed showing us the Amazon river and jungle and was great at spotting wildlife. The lodge is quite rustic but the staff is attentive and accommodating. Don’t expect to have A/C or a hot shower. It was a wonderful experience overall.
We had an amazing stay! I would highly recommend Amazon Wonder Expeditions. Our guide Luis was amazing: extremely knowledgable and very flexible. We had activity packed days with some protected time to eat and relax. The meals were fantastic - we were fully catered to as vegetarians. All the staff at the lodge were lovely, like a family. We were sad to leave!
This tour was just amazing! A big thank you to Franko Canaleo for being our guide during the 3-day jungle tour — you’re a friend now! You gave us unforgettable experiences and shared so much knowledge. Thanks also to Americo and the whole crew for the warm hospitality and delicious dinners, and to Julio for safely taking us from one place to another by boat. I absolutely recommend this tour!
It was an amazing journey! Our guid Franco and other members of the lodge are friendly, helpful, foods were great everyday. We didn’t see the sloth but I guess that’s just the nature, you cannot see them everyday. Other than that, everything was amazing.
Everyday you will be immersed in the jungle. It’s impossible to not be surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of the environment, including in your net covered cabin. If you are a lover of wildlife, immersive outdoor experiences, and want an authentic Peruvian Amazon rainforest adventure, this is the tour for you! Our guide, Franco, was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. His passion for wildlife and the jungle at large is contagious. It was extremely impressive how quickly he could identify and inform us about the Amazon: both flora and fauna. He was happy to answer all our questions while safely and successfully guiding us through the surrounding areas (on foot or by boat) both day and night. He was very fun-spirited, easygoing, and flexible to our needs and interests. If you are unfamiliar with this type of immersive, hands on experience, I definitely would be prepared for bugs, heat/UV exposure, and remote living quarters (no hot water, no A/C or fans, and limited cellphone service). A portable fan, bug spray, sunscreen, portable phone charger, headlamps, and personal bug nets are recommended but not essential. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and drink at the lodge as well. The food was delicious!, and they even have exotic fruits, juices, and cocktails available. If you can go without your creature comforts and climate controlled living spaces for a few days, you’ll have a truly incredible experience in a truly wild part of the world. We highly recommend this once in a lifetime experience!
We booked the 3 days 2 nights trip, which was amazing! Every was very well organised and we just had to enjoy without worrying about the logistics. Our guide Allen was great , as well as Johnathan and the lodge staff. We saw many animals and beautiful landscapes.
This was an authentic Amazon experience. It is not for everyone because no air-conditioning. Only generator power a couple hours a day also meaning only wifi a couple hours a day. But the experience was great. Delicious food and huge portions. I wish we had done one day longer because there were a couple of things I would have liked to do such as go to the local tribe and the animal sanctuary but we really loved it.
I don’t know where to begin. First, Allen is amazing—his English is impeccable and his knowledge of all things Amazon is unparalleled. I don’t know what the size of the groups usually are but we had a group of 5 of us, which was perfect. The lodge was beautiful and I thought the room was nice—screened in and there was a bathroom in the room. The food was delicious and our group enjoyed trying to guess the juices we were served at breakfast and lunch. My favorite was the camu camu juice. Second, Iquitos is not easy to navigate around but the pick up at our hotel arranged by Allen went smoothly and reassured us. We went to our departure location by motor coach (also referred to as tuk tuks) which was fun and then we walked through a local market which was interesting and eye opening. The boat ride to the lodge is about 2 hours on the Amazon River. It was an experience of a lifetime. Bring a swimsuit so you can swim in the Amazon! Make sure you bring flip flops, shorts during the day, sunscreen, bug spray, and a water proof bag for your phone. When it rains, oh my! Thanks Allen!!!! I
All great. Eduardo guide is caring, knowledgeable, and has incredibly good eyes. Just a few notes to watch for: 1) this trip is not exactly private as advertised; you will be combined with a few other people on different days to form a small group excursion; 2) the guide is not necessarily Allen the manager; it may be someone else contracted; 3) the lodge is basic with only cold water to shower and one simple thin sheet to cover when sleep; some nights may be cold and you need to layer up when sleeping; 4) mosquitos are not as bad as expected; 5) there is wifi whenever there is power available; otherwise the LTE signal is almost none.
Excellent tour! This is the best tour we did while we were in Peru, I could not recommend it more. The guides are all excellent and have so much knowledge about the wildlife and are so good at spotting different things to show you. The food and hospitality in the lodge were fantastic, and the room is lovely (and well netted, so no insects got in!). The company is small and family run, and they really put in so much effort to make you have the best experience possible. Many thanks to Eduardo, Allen, and Luis for making the tour so memorable. You will have an amazing time if you book with this company! P.S. Seeing the Hoatzin was a real highlight!
Allen was our guide and everything was organized very well. He was a great tour guide and accommodated our requests. Unfortunately May was a high season so we couldn't do jungle walks but other activities were added so we could truly immerse in the amazon experience. I would recommend his company for amazon tours. The food was amazing everyday.
Its amazing! I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the Amazon. Allen is very responsive regarding any questions before the trip. The guide arrived early to pick us up from the hotel. The lodge was basic but clean, spacious and comfortable, there was coffee/ water/tea offered always. There was towels, shampoo and soap. The food was great, meat, salad, dessert. The banana cup cake was amazing and we finished all of them. Allen was very attentive, and took very good care of us. Overall I enjoyed it.
This amazon adventure was absolutely everything we hoped for and so much more. Allen is a fantastic guide and very attentive/informative both before and during the trip which is a big help. The lodge we stayed at was much bigger than expected and the meals were great with a variety of options at each meal. It also had an amazing starlink internet service that was better than a lot of hotels we've stayed at. They even provided gum boots which became everyone's new favorite accessory. The trip had a variety of activities which made me and my friend happy as we got to see more then we originally expected without being overwhelmed. The jungle treks were exciting with different animals in each place at different times of day. We also loved piranha fishing more than expected with it being an absolute highlight. Allen was also an expert animal/insect spotter which lead to us seeing the ones we're excited about but also a lot we never knew about. If I come back I would definitely use this company as they really listen to what we needed to make our trip perfect.
So good! Alan was our guide and was lovely company as well as really knowledgeable about all the amazing animals and plants we saw. We fished for, and ate that night, fresh piranha. Spotted grey and pink dolphins, saw sloths, tarantulas and monkeys. Paddled past lily pads 2 metres across and saw many rare birds. Jungle camp was safe and comfortable, huge fresh meals. Unforgettable.
My stay & adventure at the Maniti Lodge in the Amazon was one the best experiences in my travels. I loved it so much that I went 2 yrs in a row! The guides are friendly and knowledgeable. The food is fantastic and the scenery beautiful.
Each day was a once in a lifetime experience. From pirannha fishing and swimming in the river to hanging out with monkeys at monkey island reserve to visting an indigenous community, every experience was memorable. Alan is amazing and so passionate about all the Amazon has to offer. Loved all of the boat rides, jungle walks and chances to see so many different birds and species. The ecolodge was peaceful, staff were so accommodating and meals were fresh and delicious.
Amazon Wonder Expeditions gave us the best experience we could have hoped for. We did the 3D/2N tour, and if you are overwhelmed by all the different options for tour operators (like we were), the let it be all-caps-clear: THIS IS IT. We were on our honeymoon through South America, and by the time we were booking our Amazon tour our budget had shrunken quite a bit. We were kinda bummed out we didn't have more to spend to make it more "luxurious" or whatever, which in hindsight is one of the stupidest thoughts I've ever had. I don't think I've experienced more value for money in my life. Our lovely guide Luis, a personal cook (wonderful Rosa) and our own boatman Oscar - all for just the two of us. Everything included; lodging, three meals a day with fresh juices (different for each meal!), entry fees, boots, pick up/drop off - all and everything, except alcohol and soda. There sure is a jungle (pun intended) of tour operators out there, and it's kinda stressful to pick the "right" one. It seems to me now that they mostly offer the same thing; fishing piranhas, night tour, monkey island, scouting for dolphins blabla. Here's couple of things that seems to set Amazon Wonder apart: - Entry fee to the real Monkey Island included in the tour (this is a must - it was a great experience, and be wary of operators that don't have this explicitly listed if you want to go. We met people that were taken to a fake one, and it was reeeeeeal_badman.gif). - Black water river tour, where you get to see another part of the Amazon; a much smaller river with different wildlife and the local community way closer. - A guide that cares for the jungle, both its wildlife and community. Now to the longer version. I'm so excited I'll probably break the Viator site with this. PEOPLE First and foremost our guide Luis. Born in a small river village on the Amazon and with 30 years experience in guiding? You need to look hard for a more seasoned guide. His keen eye catches about everything of significance both on the jungle floor and in the trees. If you are interested in birds, this is the tour for you. Luis sees them all, and the tour includes a trip down a blackwater river that houses some birds you won't see where the other tour operators go. Luis is a genuinely good man with a heart that beats for the jungle; the animals and their ways, the craziness of deforestation, the impact of climate change on the jungle etc. Rosa, our cook, added a unique dimension to our tour with her meals. Using ingredients that were sourced in the region, she created dishes that really connected us to the plants and animals we'd just seen. Dining became an extension of our guided tour, enhancing our understanding of the local culture through her cooking. Oscar the legend. That feeling of pride you get when your boat looks the best among the tour operators (don't get me wrong; it's real rustic, but very well-kept) and the satisfaction when your boat slides perfectly to shore among all the others? It's all Oscar. LODGE The lodge is very rural and you shouldn't expect anything other than a very authentic jungle experience. With a power generator that's only used a couple of hours a day, a very warm climate and the simplest of interior a faint-hearted person probably won't be satisfied. For us though, it was perfect; we got to fall asleep to the sound of the jungle as if we were sleeping on the ground outside and wake up to the sound of roosters and the break of dawn. There was no connection or internet, which made it double up as a digital retreat (Luis said they've now gotten a Starlink for future groups - which is great, but I'd recommend against using it if I were you). We were snobby enough to use our silk-pouches for sleeping in though; mostly due to insects - the room was not free of them - as well as the warmth and feeling of hygiene. I'd recommend bringing one. ALL IN ALL I'd recommend Amazon Wonder. I think I made that clear, no? Bring mosquito repellent, sunscreen, silk pouches, cash (for beers and sodas at the lodge), head lamp and binoculars (the last two I borrowed from them free of charge, which is super kind, but if your group is bigger than ours you'd want more). Enjoy.
We had an unforgettable experience with Amazon Wonder Expeditions! Eduardo and Allen were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and everything was well organised. Eduardo was an expert at spotting wildlife and always made sure we all got to see. He happily answered all our questions on local wildlife and culture. Unfortunately we were sick and unable to make the first day of our tour but the team went above and beyond to make sure we could join up with the group to attend the 2nd and 3rd day. The food at the lodge was delicious and they happily catered to my vegetarian diet.
Been travelling across SA for the past 2 months and this was my favourite experience to date, the accommodation was immaculate & the guides are very passionate about their jobs. this is the perfect location for spotting wildlife, we saw 35+ different species across 3 days, including pink dolphins, wild sloths and 5 different species of monkeys! The food at the lodge was the best ive had across SA including different fresh fruit juices daily
Why have you not booked with Luis and Allen already? Talk about a FABULOUS, once in a life time experience, This is It. Talk about authentic Peru, This Is It. The rooms are basic, clean and functional - but you'll only be sleeping there (with the songs of the jungle to sing you to sleep). No hot water and limited electricity - but who needs hot water and electricity, really? Luis and Allen are perfect hosts. Knowledgeable, so friendly, ready to answer any question you have or do what it takes to make you experience memorable. From the trip to Monkey Island to the authentic Peruvian fare, this is the real deal. Book your trip NOW. You'll be glad you did...
Allan! What can't I say. This trip was detailed, organized, exciting, informative, and so much fun. An experience of a lifetime. Our tour guide and owner Allan is an actual expert. His passion and knowledge was humbling. He was also flexible, as we woke up late for our Jungle walk. The excursions, such as bird watching, monkey sightings, watching river dolphins, swimming in the Amazon, playing with monkeys, and of course visiting the locals we're far beyond expectation. The food was right from the jungle and home cooked by women from a local village- it was the best we have ever had. So fresh and much needed after the heavy food from the coast, actually relieved my stomach issues. We witnessed the most amazing wildlife and were deeply impacted. My wife and I are already planning a longer more in depth expedition with Allan. He is born and raised in the area and all of our trips were to the benefit of the local economy. I won't share all the detail to leave some surprise- but don't look further book this trip.
Luis and Allen gave us a great 3 day trip on the amazon river around Iquitos. The lodging were basic but it had all that you could need in the jungle. and the meals are amazing, It were local dishes, which we loved to try and really liked. Between the tours was enough time to relax, or take a shower, so no rush, which is nice when on Holliday. We visited two animal rehabilitation centers where animals found on the black market or kept as pets were reintroduced into nature. It was a great way to learn more about the animals while supporting a good cause. We had an excellent time hanging around with monkeys and sloths. The daytime and nighttime trip through the jungle are really informative. We had a lot of questions and Luis was always around to answer them. All in all a great trip around the amazon. we were picked up from the hostel we were staying at, and dropped off afterwards.
I highly recommend this tour as every moment was amazing in 3 days of full schedule! Luis and Allen do a great job to make you feel fully satisfied with everything. The lodge we stayed was great; the room, the dining area, the atmosphere were all beyond my expectations. My room was fully surrounded with mosquito nets so I was so relaxed in the room away from any bites but still feeling at the heart of jungle sounds. Every meal at the lodge was so rich and very tasty. I am vegetarian and in most of the tours I have difficulty having good and appropriate food that I can eat. This tour was the best in my life in terms of food variety and taste. Luis and Allen made me feel home although we were in the middle of wild jungle! They are very knowledgeable, fluent in English and explained everything I asked in detail. You can see how passionate they are about Amazon region; communities and its natural habitat. They are always in a very positive and professional attitude that make you feel that you are in good hands. Although I was travelling by myself, I felt so much safe in every location and moment. At the end of 3 full of activity days, I was fully satisfied with my experience of Amazon; pink dolphins, amazing bird types, unique plants, otherworldly monkeys and sloths, indigenous tribe and other river people, so many jungle animals that we explored during the walks day&night! I can't wait to come back again with my friends to explore deeper in the jungle with them. Thank you so much!!
Traveled with my 27 year old son and after having hiked for the previous three weeks in altitude it was very nice to to spend some time in the amazon. Louis our tour guide, called us upon our arrival in Iquatus at our hotel and arranged pick-up the following day From there he looked after all of our needs and was very flexible on our activities. After having traveled throughout Peru we found it challenging to find good good food but this was not an issue.
Excellent experience, the real, real jungle and the real nature. Guide Lobo is an experienced pro; recommended, especially for those who really want to get to know the deep jungle.
Fantastic days in the jungle with Julio and his team! If you are looking for a local company to discover the wonders of the Peruvian Amazon, Amazon Wonder Expeditions. Reliable and highly recommended for traveling with friends and family. Great experts of their surroundings who make you enjoy exploring it with every experience.
We just finished two nights, three days in the Amazon jungle with Amazon Wonder Expeditions. We were there in June 2026. When we initially contacted Luis, he was always super friendly and responded very quickly. We have arrived in Iquitos and they have already picked us up at the airport. Afterward, we traveled to the jungle by boat. In the jungle, we did many incredible activities. Luis was with us and was very flexible; in fact, we made a change, added something to the program, and he was always willing. Always attentive to all the details. The food was EXQUISITE!!!! Nothing to envy a 5-star hotel. Everything IMPECCABLE!!!! Everything has been perfect. Luis is super nice, a true professional, and it shows that he loves his job. EVERYTHING PERFECT LUIS. A MILLION THANKS for making our experience UNFORGETTABLE. Without a doubt, book with them. Everything is SPECTACULAR!!!!
It has been a fabulous experience like no other thanks to Luis and the professionalism of all the colleagues who worked with him in his company. He completely exceeded my expectations and made the Amazon jungle the best of experiences. The wonderful food was the perfect complement to this dream trip in the Peruvian jungle… thank you Luis for everything and for so much.
We had a truly wonderful time in the Amazon. Our guide Eduardo spoke very good English and knew a lot about the rainforest with its plants and animals. Together, we were able to observe many animals. We enjoyed all the activities, and it was simply wonderful to experience the Amazon. Only one point deducted for the communication of the processes. A more detailed packing list would also be helpful in advance. Free rubber boots are provided, which is really great and sets this agency apart from others. Overall, we highly recommend a tour with Amazon Wonder Expeditions.
There were two of us our guide Frank was very friendly and accommodating. He responded to requests and advised us well before each tour. The lodge was really nice and the structured plan created a balanced mix of peace and adventure. The team overall was very nice and the food was fantastic! All highlights took place as described. For the prehistoric birds, time was even taken a second time, as they were not easy to observe the first time.
It was a fantastic and unforgettable experience. Allen (the guide) and Amerco (the host) are two lovely people. Super recommended
A fantastic and unforgettable experience! Great everything from Allen our Guide who was quite a professional...very friendly, friendly patient and a surprising knowledge of the environment and species, great excursions! Also note that our accommodation was very comfortable, the food exquisite and the rest of the staff lovely! They made our trip was wonderful. I recommend it 100%!
It was an unforgettable experience! Many very beautiful activities that are worth telling! We got to see a lot of beautiful animals. Many different activities done that are only possible in the rainforest which makes this super beautiful!
