Billy was an exceptional driver and full of information. It was extremely easy to communicate with Billy over emails. We designed our own whisky tour day to Speyside that he accommodated with pickup from our hotel in Inverness. We felt safe and comfortable the entire time and never rushed. We had Lawrence as our guide and the entire experience was absolutely fantastic! The whiskey tours and tastings were great, but Lawrence put the whole experience over the edge. He is incredibly knowledgeable and charismatic and just made the whole day.

OMG! Bill was fantastic. We felt safe, he told some history of where we were driving. He made great suggestions of places to go Especially Glenfarclas! He set up lunch reservations at a VERY nice bar/restaurant which the food was fantastic. We couldn't have gotten a better experience in Scotland. THANK YOU. I think we have the record though.. 18. 😁

My family and I had an amazing time on our private whisky tour. From my original inquiry on, I was guided on recommendations for what to book, when, and even given lunch recommendations. The day of we were picked up at our hotel. Lawrence was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, offering fun facts and side quests when time permitted. I couldn’t recommend this small, family-owned company more!

My family and I had an excellent day with Lawrence travelling through the highlands to see some of our favourite distilleries. Lawrence helped me plan the best route and ensured that we had all our tickets secured in advance. Day of, Lawrence picked us up at our BnB, got us to all our appointments on time, and showed us some great local spots. Would highly recommend planning your whisky tour with Lawrence!

Lawrence was a god send since the first time we spoke.We had another trip back out on us and he was able to save us and he gave us a wonderful experience.He was extremely thoughtful and helpful along the whole way.we enjoyed his banter and Wonderful stories.we had a special surprise at the end of our journey by a beautiful bridge to really cap things off.I can't imagine a better tasting experience in Scotland.I would definitely recommend this tour.

What an absolutely wonderful experience! Our day touring the distilleries of Speyside was one of the highlights of our trip to Scotland. From the very beginning, Laurence was fantastic. He helped us choose and book the various distilleries and carefully put together an itinerary that made perfect sense for the day. His advice and organization took all the stress out of the planning and ensured we could simply relax and enjoy the experience. And then there was Billy, our chauffeur for the day, who was simply terrific. From the moment he picked us up, he was warm, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. Between distilleries, Billy shared fascinating stories and historical information about Speyside and Scotland, as well as great recommendations for restaurants, local attractions and places we might otherwise have missed. It felt like we were travelling with someone who genuinely loved the area and wanted us to experience the very best of it. Billy’s personality, knowledge and attention throughout the day made an already special experience even more memorable. The driving was comfortable, the suggested modifications to the itinerary flowed perfectly, and we never felt rushed. A huge thank you to Laurence and Billy for putting everything together and providing such a memorable day. If you are considering a private tour of the Speyside distilleries, we would recommend them without hesitation. Five stars all the way!

Billy makes you feel safe, comfortable. He reserved a very nice restaurant for our lunch in-between tours. He was fun, knowledgeable. Everyone should take his tour!

We did the Speyside Whiskey Tour with Lawrence and what an exceptional experience it was. On time pick up, expert knowledge of distilleries, great stop for lunch (The Highlander Pub), extremely flexible and was especially helpful about local lore, history and customs in the Highlands. We just wish we had booked with this company for our Culloden/Inverness tour because these guys outshine everyone. We can’t thank Lawrence enough for an exceptional whiskey line up. Did the tour of Balvenie (2 1/2 hours and make sure you book early), GlenFiddich, GlenAllachie and MaCallan. Thank you Lawrence!

After months of checking reviews on private tour companies in Inverness & multiple emails with different companies Highlander Private Tours did not disappoint. My emails to Lawrence regarding a non-standard tour with a long list of distilleries that we wanted to see for my husband's birthday in various areas was immediately answered. It came to my attention that I had no idea how vast the area was! After great detailed emails from Lawrence he set an itinerary for the whiskey tours doing the areas we wanted. Turns out that instead of my planned 2 days using Highlander I ended up booking 4 ! We spent 2 days with Lawrence and his amazing knowledge of whiskies & everything in between, then 2 days with Billy (his brother) driving around Loch Ness viewing other places and distilleries. From picking us up at the airport to returning us for a flight home 9 days later Lawrence & Billy made us feel like family. They grew up here & the love they have for the area shines through when taking a tour, from old homes/castles/tiny towns/whiskey tours/lots and lots of sheep/tiny grocery store for a cinnamon pastry to crossing over the top of the mountain to take photos of the North Sea it was by far one of our top vacations. So much to say that we are planning another trip back because of Highlander Private Tours, with Lawrence & Billy you have made the right choice!

This was one of the best tours we’ve ever been on! Lawrence recommended a terrific slate of whisky tastings at a varied group of distilleries, including a stop at the Cooperage. His brother Billy picked us up from the hotel and was a delightful guide all day. He was extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying the day. The van was very large and accommodated the four of us (including 2 tall guys) very well. We highly recommend this tour!!

We planned a private day trip whisky tour with a small group of friends while visiting Scotland. We wanted to stick to the Speyside region. We did two tours with Lawrence. He was great. He was very informative about Scotland history and the sites we saw along the way. He is very well known at all the whiskey places we stopped and we felt we were treated very special. We were able to customize this tour to go to a distillery that was one of our group's favorites even though it was further away, Lawrence made it work. I would highly recommend this tour group and Lawrence!

My two friends and I had a fantastic time tasting whiskey and seeing the beautiful sites of the Speyside region. We especially enjoyed the tasting at Glenfiddich where we were treated to an extra dram of an especially fine whiskey. Lawrence has a relationship with many of the distilleries due to his frequent tour work so his insider connections made for a wonderful experience!

Myself and my friends went to Speyside for a whisky tour with Highlander Private Tours. We went to GlenAllachie Distillery for a few drams and then we did the tour at the Speyside Cooperage which was fantastic and then we went to Macallan where we saw the very impressive whisky wall and enjoyed a few excellent drams.

An an absolutely brilliant day exploring Speyside, organised from start to finish by Highlander Private Tours. Once they knew what we particularly wanted to see, they built a tour around our request, with suggestions of their own, which were gratefully received. They even organised entrance and tours at the various locations and escorted us to the reception desks! Excellent recommendation for lunch was also appreciated. A superb day out and Billy was great company - we'll definitely use them again the next time we're in Scotland.

Lawrence gave us a great tour of Speyside! We had limited time due to our cruise ship schedule and Lawrence planned the schedule perfectly. He was even able to add another stop at the last minute because our travel was much quicker than we thought. He was very knowledgeable about the distillery industry and businesses while also answering all our questions about the history d the area. He even shared a wee dram of his favorite whisky (which was very good!). We can’t say enough positive about Lawrence and our trip and we would highly recommend Highlander Private Tours for all of your Speyside tour needs!

We visited Macallan and Glenfiddich-Balvenie, two very different experiences; all. with excellent whiskey. Macallan is very posh and beautifully laid out. Well worth the visit. Glenfiddich and its sister distillery Balvenie is more down to earth and makes an excellent Cullen Skink soup. Speyside whiskey is at the top of my list. Billy was very knowledgeable about the history of the region and Scotland as a whole. He was full of stories and tidbits about the region and knows all the distilleries. He’s an excellent driver. We felt very comfortable in a very nice van.

Took great care of us and made the tour fun. Would recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for full personal and detailed attention to your well-being and accommodate what you are seeking to achieve in a private tour.

Absolutely amazing! My dad and I were in Inverness and we HAD to do Speyside whisky. We didn't have a car (and drunk driving laws in Scotland are very strict so we wouldn't have driven anyway). Did a bit of research and found Lawrence and this group and were absolutely blown away. He reached out directly and he was very responsive. He customized the trip based on what we wanted to do and was friendly, knowledgeable and really a value add to the day. He facilitated the tickets and tours ahead of time and was everything was quite smooth. The car was huge and comfortable and he had water and snacks. Honestly a perfect day. Ten out of ten, would do it again.

We had a great time on our Speyside distillery tours with Lawrence. He helped us customize an itinerary to visit the specific distilleries we were interested in that would work with our schedule. He was very friendly and easy to work with and provided all the details for our tour day. Our personalized tour was fantastic and went perfectly smoothly thanks to Lawrence's planning. He made great recommendations for where to visit and also included a few stops along the way for interesting landmarks and a cozy local lunch. We could not have been happier with how the day went and would absolutely recommend Highlander Private Tours and book with Lawrence for future visits.

Lawrence was absolutely great. He made planning and booking multiple tours very easy for us and helped work out a realistic itinerary to cover as much as possible in our available time. Not only did he pull off the multiple requested stops, but worked in a few quick stops along the way and pointed out lots of local highlights and history. He was genuinely just a really nice guy to spend the day with and was very knowledgeable and friendly to my wife and I. Great recommendation on The Highlander Inn for lunch, and we enjoyed chatting with him during our drive. My personal highlights were the beautiful and relaxing lounge of the glenfiddich distillery where we enjoyed lovely service from the staff, and the truly incredible Macallan distillery, which can only be described as a whisky wonderland (hence the title)./ Thanks again Lawrence...until next time

Thanks to Lawrence for sorting a fantastic trip to visit Speyside distilleries. Some fabulous drams were sampled. A great 5 dram tasting at Aberlour starting with a trial of their 70% Abv new make, then getting to try some distillery only 11 yo 50% bottlings - one bourbon, one sherry cask, as well as some others. The visit to Glenallachie was a highlight. Fantastic sherry cask drams and a treat to find a range at cask strength too. Afterwards Lawrence took us for dinner in The Highlander pub in Craigellichie - a Mecca for whisky lovers - for some traditional Scottish fare. A wonderful trip!

Had a great day touring distilleries near Craigellachie. Our driver, Bill, picked us up at the hotel and escorted us to four distilleries in the area. He did a great job keeping us on schedule. He was a wonderful tour guide, telling us about Scottish history and the local area. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves scotch or wants to learn a little of the area history.

Three words - WORTH EVERY PENCE! My family and I spent three days with Lawrence, driving around Speyside and Isle of Skye. He did a fantastic job and made our trip very special. We had provided a couple distilleries that we wanted to visit and he built a wonderful, site-filled itinerary around these locations. Lawrence planned our trip on Speyside so it included historic sites, a distillery tour of Glenlivit, a visit to the Glenfiddich whiskey lounge, a wonderful lunch at the Mash Tun, and a very informative stop at the Speyside Cooperage. He has in depth knowledge that he shared throughout our journey. There was something magical about listening to Lawrence’s account of Jacobite history while driving through the rolling hills on our way to the Isle of Skye. He kept us on schedule without making us feel rushed (which is a huge effort when you have a family like mine!) while fitting in a ton of beautiful sites. This private tour was the highlight of our time in Scotland. I cannot recommend him enough!
