Loch Ness, Culloden, Clava And Whisky/gin Tour From Inverness.

This tour was absolutely amazing. Neil is an incredibly knowledgeable and kind tour guide. He catered the entire experience based on our needs, questions and the weather. He explained the history of Scotland at each stop and presented information in a very understandable and logical sequence of events. We’ve been on other tours, and this was by far the best tour that we had in Scotland. This is definitely a must-do tour and we would recommend it again and again. If you are looking for a private tour that is reasonably priced this is definitely a five star experience you won’t get anywhere else. Thank you Neil for a wonderful day!

Niall MacLean is an absolutely wonderful guide. He knows the history as if he were a college professor. He's got a great sense of humor, and made the trip truly memorable for my friends, none of whom had been to Inverness previously.

We had a fantastic half day with Niall! He is an expert on the Highlands and we learned so much in just a few hours. His extensive knowledge of the battle of Culloden was the highlight of the tour for us. We followed his restaurant suggestion and had a delicious meal at Number 27 Bar & Kitchen.

We started our private tour meeting Niall MacLean outside our VRBO in the morning. Our first stop was Culloden battlefield. Niall did a wonderful job explaining the history of the Jacobites and the battle to us! Our 2nd stops was the Clava Cairns. Again, we learned so much listening to all of the history. Our next stop was the Great Glen Distillery where we got to taste award winning Gin! We proceeded to visit the Highland Cows which had the cutest gift shop! Our last stop was Singleton Distillery Glen Ord where we got to sample flights of Whiskey. Niall was an exceptional tour guide bringing us to all these places! This was a private tour and we are so glad we chose it! It was by far our favorite tour because of Niall! He was so knowledgeable on every subject we covered. He followed the itinerary but tailored it to our interests! I highly recommended this tour!

Niall was the best guide ever. He wears traditional Scottish dress, has amazing stories to share and keeps you entertained with Scottish history. Amazed by Culloden, enjoyed Clava Cairns, visited the Hairy Coos, tried gin and whiskey, and listened to him play bagpipes on Loch Ness. A must do trip.

We had the best time on this tour. History lessons and more. Seeing a couple Highland cows was the cherry on top. We do not drink so we passed on the whiskey tour. We enjoyed the day and all the beautiful scenery.

Niall was amazing. He shared his passion and knowledge with us about Scotland. Definitely want to go back . It was the last tour we did the day before we left, and it truly was the best one.

What a lovely day in the Scottish Highlands with Donald! His knowledge of history and Scottish culture brought nuance to many of the places we saw on tour. Donald was such an engaging guide that the journey between stops were filled with stories and conversation. The tour felt like it went by too quickly! We would heartedly recommend exploring this region with Donald if you ever have the chance to.

Can’t say enough about this tour! Naill, our tour guide was wonderful! Probably one of the very best tours I’ve taken. Naill was very informative, gave us good background info, never rushed us and just rolled easily. Hated for the tour to end. The tour to the Battle of Culloden…great!!

Excellent way to see the sights with the knowledge of an amazing tour guide (Nial) who knows the area inside and out. I highly recommend this tour option. Everyone in my family enjoyed it, ages ranging from 17 to 56. We all agreed that this was our favorite tour!

Our tour with Donald was incredible. He picked up the four of us outside our hotel on time. He was a jewel of a guide. Knowledgeable, numerous and very kind. We learned a lot of the local history from him and he was great answering any of our questions.

We had an excellent day out and got to see a lot of things around Inverness, learned about the history of the area, and took things at our own pace. If you’re visiting the area and don’t have a car, I would highly recommend this experience.

Niall is a retired law enforcement officer with encyclopedic knowledge of the Scottish Highlands. You will see and learn a lot in day with him.

Donald was a great guide providing informational and anecdotal stories during the tour. The locations visited were all interesting with just the right amount of time spent at each. Private tour is the way to go!!

We have traveled quite a bit and taken many tours....this tour was absolutely the best! Niall was fun to be with and an exceptional guide. His knowledge and passion for the history of the highlands made it come alive for us. We really enjoyed learning the history of Culloden from a Highlander. He was a wealth of information about all of the sights that visited. Our last stop was the most amusing - he said that we were going to meet Jamie Fraser (I am an Outlander fan). We actually did meet him - a very cute highland cow! I can't wait to go back to Scotland and will definitely be calling upon Niall again.

This trip was fascinating even for the members of our family who are not Outlander fans. Our guide, Donald Pierson, was so wonderful. He was a font of knowledge about everything we saw and full of wonderful stories about Scotland and the Highlands.

My husband and I along with my in-laws had the absolute best time with Neil! He was extremely knowledgeable and kind and kept us informed on all the stories around the Highlands and was never annoyed with all our questions!

Tour was everything as advertised & more. Great if you want to hit multiple places in a few hours. Pick up & drop you off flexible. Great if you don’t plan to get a rental. Gin & whiskey stops were very reputable. Kind staff at every stop. Niall was very informative and told us so much of Scotlands history. He went into a lot of history that led up to the Culloden Battle. Was also helpful for first time gin & whiskey drinkers. He accommodated every one of our requests and was wonderful to spend the day with!

Niall was fabulous. He tailored the trip to our interests helping us spot Highland Coos. Our sons 17 and 21 thoroughly enjoyed his history lesson and are still discussing what they learned. It was a great experience and the best way to see the Highlands.

We had a great tour of Inverness and the surrounding area. This tour backs a lot into a half day, but we felt like the pace was good. There are opportunities to tweak the tour to fit your group's interest.

Neil was a GREAT tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Scottland and especially about the highland area we where touring. He did not rush us though any part of the tour. Niall was an outstanding guide taking us through various areas of the highlands. His family have been of the highlands for over 300 years and who better to spend time with to learn the rich history. The battlefield sight at Culledon is moving and should not be missed and Niall is the person to see it with. Loved the scotch and gin distilleries and enjoyed the lovely town of Bealy. You can also customize your tour. This experience was outstanding!

This tour was the highlight of our trip! Niall and Donald were absolutely amazing in every way. We had a group of seven adults(all family) on the full day tour. Niall was the highlight of our time in Scotland! He made the excursions SO much better than if we had just gone on our own. Every place we visited was well worth the tour. Our private tour guide Neil was exceptional! He gave us great recommendations at the whiskey distillery for what to order, at the gift shops for the best souvenirs. He was so knowledgeable about every place we visited and knew Scottish history. As a native Highlander you could tell he loved his country. He was very accommodating for special requests we had on the tour for special things we wanted to see. We also loved his bagpipe solo!
