About Activity
The Highlands have fed and nurtured people for centuries, and nowhere tells that story better than Inverness. This three-hour premium food tour takes you along the banks of the River Ness and through the atmospheric Victorian Market, weaving together the town's history, its Highland character, and some of the finest locally sourced food and drink you'll find anywhere in Scotland.
Your guide — part storyteller, part local insider — will lead you to places most visitors never find: hidden attic restaurants, buzzing food stalls, and cosy pubs, each with its own charm and a tale to tell. Along the way you'll taste your way through the heart of Highland cuisine, from crumbly farmhouse cheeses and oatcakes to a warming bowl of Cullen Skink, the smoky, creamy fish chowder that's as Scottish as it gets. Paired with Scottish ciders, locally brewed ales, and a dram of premium Scotch whisky, it's a full sensory journey through the region's remarkable food heritage.
This is slow food done right — farm to table, low food miles, and rooted in the skills of local families who've been doing this for generations. By the end of the evening, you won't just have eaten well. You'll understand the Highlands a little better too. (max group size: 12 person)
Includes food equivalent to a full meal and four paired drinks tastings including a dram of premium Scotch Whisky (non-whisky alternative available). Additional drinks not included.
