I had previously been at the Drumossie some 12 years ago for a work conference and remembered it as being a prestigious and attractive hotel. However, like almost of all the hotels in the MacDonald portfolio, it has become run-down and shabby though, of course, the prices do not reflect this. As well as the building, the service here was appalling. Check-in was trouble-free with room adequate and comfortable. I don't understand though how this can be marketed as a 4* hotel. What is there that justifies this? For example, alll 4* hotels I've stayed at in recent years have a coffee machine in the room, not cheap instant coffee. Room was fine though but the water in the shower had one temperature - fairly scalding. In the corridor near the lift on the ground floor there was a very overpowering and strange smell, almost like rancid shoe-polish. Why? Our stay included a meal and bottle of prosecco. Both were good but service was very, very poor. Why give someone a bottle of wine and ice-bucket but no glasses? And, should waiting staff need reminded to open the bottle?! Staff were generally sullen and lacking in any charm though the woman who is apparently head of staff was very good. Perhaps MacDonald hotels are not very good employers? Our last gripe, and the most disappointing is that a present of Polish vodka I'd given to my partner had been left on the room dressing table after our departure. Both of us phoned a number of times in subsequent days to arrange it's return - I am in Inverness on occasion for work and could collect it - and expected a MacDonald Hotel to be able to facilitate this. However, after several phone calls were not returned we were finally told that 'no bottle of vodka had been handed in'. This is very disappointing. MacDonald Drumossie is a very large hotel but really doesn't have much going for it. There is no pool, sauna or gym, even. It's appears to be aimed at the conference and wedding market. Despite going during a period of beautiful weather in the October holidays, it was nearly empty. Give Drumossie a miss and go to a cheaper hotel or guest house in Inverness city centre. Wrote to hotel management with my concerns as well as a review or two but they still haven't responded.

Spent a pleasant 5 nights here last December. Location for my work in Inverness was ideal - short drive from the suburbs. My room was large, well equipped and very comfortable. Ordered room service one or two nights and eat in the restaurant which was nice but overly formal for my liking. Menu was a bit limited and food was over-priced. Staff were decent but atmosphere a bit subdued despite the festive decorations. One for the well heeled retired couples.
We recently stayed at The Drumossie Hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. On arrival we had a warm welcome from the reception staff who were both friendly and professional throughout as were all the staff! We had booked a DB&B deal which allowed us to travel with our dog which was ideal. Our double room was very spacious, comfortable and had a lovely garden view. The food served was well presented, tasty and great value! We would visit again without hesitation if staying in the area.
Stayed here for 3 nights and had a really pleasant experience overall. There’s plenty of parking available, which made things easy right from the start. The room was very spacious, clean, and tidy—exactly what you want after a long day. The WiFi was decent, though it was a bit of a hassle getting onto Netflix since you have to connect to a Google account first to access it. Not a huge issue, just something to be aware of. Breakfast was spot on every morning with a good selection and everything well prepared. Overall, a great stay and I’d definitely consider coming back!
The hotel is extremely convenient and is only a few minutes from the A9 if travelling north or south. On arrival there is plenty of parking, all convenient to Reception and check in was speedy, polite and efficient. There is a large lounge, well furnished and tasteful making an ideal meeting area. All staff were professional, polite and well presented and we were made to feel very welcome. Our bedroom was again tasteful and well furnished and possible double the size of a normal hotel bedroom, with an extremely clean en-suite including a bath and shower. The dining room was very pleasant, and the staff extremely attentive and professional. One slight criticism might be the the limited choice on the menu. however wife and I enjoyed our stay and we would happily book again.
