Incredible experience I would recommend to anyone visiting. The views of the mountains were breathtaking and the guide was a true professional. Overall we were out on the lake for about 3 hours but I wish we could’ve stayed out there all day. It is very relaxed and you have the freedom to basically paddle wherever you want. The guide also had a go pro and was taking pictures for everyone throughout.

Excellent activity, excellent guide, I really loved my experience!
GOur tour Guide Sona was amazing. She was very nice and funny. Sona gave us great tips and tricks for kayaking and told us about the river and the different mountains. Sona took the time throughout the tour to ask us questions about ourselves to get to know us better which was very nice. The tour was amazing and the water and views were breathtaking. The water was so clear and turquoise. Would highly recommend this tour to people that are looking for something fun to do while in Switzerland.
Sona was my guide and oh my gosh! I had the absolute best time! I was a little nervous because I was alone but her and I had such a fun time! Even on private tours she’s just Incredible! Had such a blast! We were on the lake for about 2-2.5 hours which was perfect and the pictures she took, I actually look good in! 1000% worth the price. Best for adventure.
The 3 hour session with 1 hour of prep/training/setup and 2 hours on the water was fantastic! The selection of gear & detailed instruction on getting in the dry suit was helpful. The distance on the lake was not very far - hugged the shore and a little time on the opposite side plus a pause for a snack. But it was perfect! We had varying skill levels and it was important for all to have a safe and good time! Patrizia gave extra assistance to one of our friends who had less experience. And she let those with more experience paddle a little away as long as we were in earshot. Getting to kayak and gaze at beautiful snow capped mountains was amazing!
I had the best winter kayak! It was a gorgeous day out and Patrizia the tour guide is amazing and very nice. The dry suit kept me very warm and dry. I recommend 10/10!!
So much fun great activity to see the mountains and lake in Interlaken
Amazing experience. A must do activity with family and friends. Sona was an awesome instructor
Gorgeous setting, knowledgeable and friendly staff, excellent equipment (dry suits, kayaks, etc.). My guide was Soňa, who was fantastic — she knew so much about the lake and surrounding area, took great photos, and even brought us cookies and tea to enjoy midway through the kayaking session! Overall, top-tier experience, would recommend!
We had such an amazing time winter kayaking on Lake Brienz with Hightide Kayak School. The scenery was unreal turquoise water, snowy mountains, and total peace out on the lake. Also you were not cold at all in the dry suits! Manu was the best guide. He made us feel completely safe and comfortable, kept the vibe fun and relaxed, and knew all the best spots for views and photos. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does. If you’re in Interlaken, definitely book this and ask for Manu if you can. Such a cool, unforgettable experience and the best way to see the lake!
Had so much fun it was amazing and our tour guide Juan was awesome! I had gone kayaking before and had experience with it but this was even better than I imagined.
This was an incredible tour! I did the 9.15 am time slot, and the lake was empty except for us and one other group. Juan was an incredible guide! This is absolutely worth the price, and I would definitely do it again next time I’m in the area. Amazing views, glassy waters, and the pictures included in the package were the cherry on top! 10/10 would recommend :)
Fantastic experience seeing Lake Brienz with Dave and Davide, 2 excellent guides, and we even had a chance to go up hiking an old castle, sipping hot tea on a cold winter afternoon. It was perfect for beginners like my wife and me. And no, we didn't fall into the cold water at all; in fact, we were so warm from all the paddling :) Highly recommended!
The winter tour was magical, lake brienz was empty and Juan was very professional and explained everything very well. Don't be afraid cuz you will be equipped with drysuits and warm gloves and clothes.
Undoubtedly a highlight of my trip!! felt well organised, professional and friendly - such an amazing way to see the scenery around.
This was well worth the price of admission. Our tour guide was so kind and made the experience so easy to follow. I had never kayaked before and with their guidance I felt like a pro. The views cannot be beat. It was an unforgettable experience. If you are worried about the cold, the wet suits they provide kept us very warm (I actually got warm at one point). Such a wonderful day and would absolutely do it again.
Fog or sunshine this was an incredible experience and just a wonderful time! Dave and Davide were incredible guides. With their equipment kayaking a few days before Christmas was warmer than you would expect! Great bit of exercise in the fresh air.
My husband and I went on a tour Christmas morning and had an amazing time! Our tour guide Davide took us to cool spots in and around the lake and was full of fun facts about the area! We spent about two hours exploring and about an hour split between the front and back end of the tour to put on/take off the gear. Everyone at the office was super friendly and gave us tips for doing other things around town. I also really appreciated that the photos and videos were included with the admission fee. Highly recommend this experience!
My 18 y/o daughter, 21 y/o son and I took the tour with Stefania. It was great! We were super warm and dry in the neoprene suit and the lake was clear, clean and gorgeous. We stopped and went to visit a church across the lake which was very cool. The scenery was amazing and it was a great activity for us. Thank you!
Our guide David deserves a 10 out of 10, he was fantastic. We really loved being the only ones on the lake and the suits really kept us warm and dry. I fell in the water trying to get into my kayak but still stayed dry. Only thing we didn’t love was having to help get the kayaks down of the racks and put them up again, I was worried about hurting our backs. It would also have been nice to be greeted with a warm drink on our return.
Thank you for the invite! We had a wonderful time on the lake with our guides Sona and Davide. The paddeling, the warm suits, picturesque views and homemade ;) tea and cookies made for a great experience!
Thank you for the invite! We had a wonderful tour with our great guides Sona and Davide. The views, the paddeling, the warm suits and "homemade" ;) tea and cookies made for a great afternoon trip on the lake.
Unfortunately, my kayak experience did not meet expectations due to poor organization and lack of professional guidance from the very beginning. Upon arrival, there was no proper greeting or welcome, which immediately created a hectic atmosphere. The process felt rushed and unstructured, and no safety instructions were given before entering the kayaks. This quickly became a problem. Within the first two minutes on the water, one participant fell into the lake simply because he had not been shown how to sit or move properly inside the kayak. Another person nearly fell in as well. This could easily have been avoided with a short safety and technique briefing. In addition, there was no explanation of the tour itself — no overview of the route, the plan, or what we were going to experience. Once on the water, the tour remained chaotic. There did not seem to be a clear structure or leadership. At one point, in the middle of the actual tour, the guides openly discussed among themselves how they were going to lead the group — including who should paddle in front and who should stay behind. This should have been clearly planned and communicated before entering the water with guests. The guides also did not explain anything about what we were seeing: not a single mountain, nothing about the lake, or the surrounding landscape. There was no storytelling or interpretation of the environment at all. Instead of creating a calm and inspiring atmosphere, they were sometimes even shouting at guests to “come closer,” which completely disrupted the sense of peace and the magic that kayaking should provide. Rather than feeling guided through a special natural setting, the experience felt disorganized and rushed. There was no clear direction, no connection to the place, and no effort to help guests truly appreciate where they were. I spoke with other guests during the tour, and everyone I talked to agreed that the experience was disappointing. A German couple in the group, in particular, expressed that they were really disappointed and had expected a much higher level of professionalism and explanation. This was especially disappointing because the tour has enormous potential. Even without being a professional kayak guide, it is easy to imagine how this could be turned into an outstanding experience. With proper safety instructions and a clear tour plan, the group could paddle together to the middle of the lake and form a raft. The guide could bring hot tea and cups in their kayak and serve guests, creating a unique moment — enjoying hot tea in the middle of the lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. From there, paddling toward Ringgenberg to explain the church and listen to the bell ring, followed by a visit to the waterfall and a paddle along the cliffs, would make the tour structured, immersive, and truly memorable. In summary, while the natural setting is stunning, the lack of organization, safety briefing, clear leadership, and meaningful explanations significantly reduced the quality of the experience. It could be so much better with proper planning, calmer communication, and guides who are prepared and passionate about sharing the beauty of the place.
Very friendly staff, well organised, brought also a small picknick:) Possible by any weather. Relaxing, but also challenging.
A wonderful experience. They provide all equipment and necessary clothing. Our tour instructor Patrizia showed us the lake and explained a little bit of history of the area. Totally recommend it!
One of the best activities I did while studying abroad! The instructor I had was so nice and the smaller group sizes made for a more relaxed atmosphere and serene experience. Can’t recommend enough!
This kayak tour was incredible from start to finish. Our guide Ryan was amazing in instructing us, the dry suits made kayaking in freezing cold water very comfortable, and the overall experience was pure fun. Cannot recommend this enough -- lake water is as turquoise as the pictures.
Studying abroad and was recommended to do this. 100% worth the money. Seriously one of the coolest things I’ve done, don’t book with anyone else.
We had an amazing experience. Patrizia was a great instructor, sweet, fun, and knowledgeable. The gear kept us dry and warm and the lake was gorgeous.
Had an amazing kayaking experience on Lake Brienz with Hightide! Our guide, Jolien, made everything feel smooth and relaxed—even with our previous kayaking experience, this felt extra special. The tea-and-cookie break in the middle of the lake, surrounded by the Alps, was pure magic. Great vibes, not rushed at all, and finished right on time with big smiles. Highly recommend—especially if you get Jolien as your guide!
Jolene was so sweet. We had such a great time. Weather was incredible. Pics were incredible. I did not want to get off the lake!
What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon in Interlaken. The sun was out and the guide Ryan was interactive and fun. Small group which was perfect. The gear we used was high quality and in great shape. Loved that Ryan took pictures for you so you don’t have to bring your phone. Hightide give you these at no extra charge. Lake Brienz has the most incredible water color. Highly recommended
Went kayaking with my spouse on the lake and got lucky with the beautiful sunny weather along with the having the lake all to ourselves. The kayaking experience itself was amazing but our guide Jolien was the real gem. Had the time of our lives, would recommend everybody to try it.
Had the best time exploring the lake, it was beautiful and Patrizia was the perfect tour guide! I highly recommend, a must do adventure activity whilst in interlaken!!
Did a winter tour on lake Brienz with the high tide team today, really great experience for someone with no previous kayaking knowledge. The guides Manu and Karol were very friendly and professional, making it a great way to spend an afternoon. Some extra nice touches were a tea stop and being sent the gopro images/videos as part of the tour.
Our guide Patrizia provided us with an unforgettable experience. Kayaking on the lake in the winter is fun and exciting. Their dry suits keep you dry and warm. I wished it was snowing during our trip. Highly recommended, will definitely be back
An absolute must-do in Interlaken. The views are incredible. Our tour guide, Manu, was so friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the tea break at the castle with its stunning views. We received the photos within 15 minutes of leaving and were included as part of the package. We were so lucky with the sunny weather, which made the scenery even more breathtaking. The equipment was all provided on the day and we felt safe at all times.
Great job from the instructor side. He shared us his energy and good vibe. The weather was nice, the moment was perfect. It was in the first hours of the day.
Manu was such a great tour guide and made the tour ten times better. He took beautiful photos and videos and was so personable! We had such a wonderful time on the tour, and the experience was surreal. We would strongly recommend to anyone considering!
The winter kayak trip was beautiful and very enjoyable. The lake was crystal clear and kayaking with the mountains in the background was incredible. Our guide Phebe was super nice and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend it.
This is by far the best kayaking trip I have ever had. Kayaking in the crystal clear Lake Brienz and overlooking the scenic snow-capped mountain is like a dream comes true. My first time wearing the most sophisticated dry suit for kayaking, not only it keeps all of us warm but making sure that we stayed dry during the trip. Patricia was our tour guide and she is an amazing and sweet person. She made us warm tea and provided us some cutest biscuits for snacks in the middle of the lake. She also made sure we had good pictures taken during the trip. Thanks again for the amazing trip. If I had chance to revisit, I will surely come back for the kayaking experience again.
Sona was a vv good guide! We had a lot of fun playing tag as a group, and the lake was so calm and serene. The waters were calm and not too cold.
We were lucky to have a clear day with beautiful scenery, Sean the Aussie tour guide was awesome, he made sure to be inclusive of everyone and we even enjoyed a cup of tea and biscuits in our kayaks whilst on the lake! The dry suits kept me nice and warm despite the winter chill.
Gorgeous trip. Perfect for us. Our guide-Manu, really made the trip. He was fluent in several languages, he patiently and clearly talked is all through the prep and putting on the superb warm dry suits. He helped us all into the kayaks, leaving experienced people to get on at their own pace and helping more inexperienced people at whatever level they needed. He was funny and informative. The speed of the trip was clearly based on us and personally, we wanted leisurely and that’s what we got. I’m sure a group who wanted to go faster would be facilitated. The weather was amazing. Manu took refreshments for half way. There was a toilet stop half way. The whole thing was perfect. Highly recommend.
This was one of the top highlights of my trip to Zurich/Lucerne/Interlaken. The scenery was breathtaking and we lucked out with a partly cloudy day. The lake was calm and it was quite easy to kayak for the length of time - you do not need to be particularly athletic. They provide a drysuit that keeps you warm and dry and all necessary equipment. Our guide Patricia was friendly, helpful, and thoughtful. Highly recommend for an outdoor activity in the winter. 10/10
This tour was so relaxing, and the views were amazing. Karol was such an amazing guide and had so much information on the surrounding areas. He even brought us tea and cookies onto the lake! 10/10 recommend for a relaxing way to get an incredible view.
Manu is a cool guide who shared relatable stories and ran through every step (from wearing the dry suit to getting in a kayak) with us to ensure that we have no issues. Having a tea break in the middle of the lake, whilst floating in the kayak was a unique experience.
We were taken out by Manu and we had an absolutely fantastic time - thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience including a walk up a medieval castle. It was chilly but the dry suits really keep you warm! Also Manu took some great photos and videos, which we appreciated. You don't need to be an experience kayaker to take part
Myself and my partner booked onto the Winter Kayak Tour of Lake Brienz and we can honestly say that it was worth it. Our coach was called Sona and she was really friendly and kind. She was also really informative about the history of Lake Brienz and Interlaken. It was a very surreal experience as the views were absolutely breath-taking. Sona also took so many photos and videos of myself and my partner which will be cherished forever.
AMAZING a once and a lifetime experience. Staff was super friendly and pictures came out amazing. Karol was a great guide 10/10 recommend.
