Poor organisation - emailed 3 days before about a change in location, then 1 day before to be told our original date was being cancelled. Rebooked for a different evening. Had to chase the refund for the first night being cancelled. Activity stated maximum guests would be 22 but there was 31 on the tour. One group of very loud lads on the tour impacting on the experience of others - nothing done to try and control this by the team. Had to collect sleds from a very dark room with building materials all over the place and no lighting - health and safety hazard. No consideration for those of us that were less confident on the sledding slopes. One of the guides came whizzing up behind us towards the end making me have to jump out of the way and just carried on past whilst laughing. Overall just a very negative experience for those who are not confident or used to being on these kinds of slopes - would not recommend unless you are confident in what you’re doing. I contacted the company to express my concerns and ask whether we could receive any money back given all of the above and was told no. Very poor customer service and little care shown towards their customers both during the tour and following detailed feedback.

Unfortunately we were unable to go sledding. The trip was relocated due to the warm weather and we were unable to get to the meeting point as one of our party was feeling unwell.
This was a great outdoor adventure, both terrifying and exhilarating… sledding down the mountain paths at night. Our original venue was canceled due to lack of snow; Outdoor + organized a similar excursion to an even taller slope, and it was enjoyable for all the family!
The guides are excellent — very attentive, patient, and supportive. There is an initial explanation on how to use the sled, and guides accompany and assist throughout the route. In my case, I even twisted my knee, and a guide supported me the entire time. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about the guides or their assistance. The concern is about the activity itself. Even with the basic training provided, the sled has no mechanical brake, control depends entirely on technique and coordination, and once the descent starts, it is not possible to stop or turn back — you must continue until the end. In addition, almost the entire route runs alongside a precipice, without continuous safety nets or side protection. This level of risk is not clearly explained before the descent begins. For me, falling, getting a bruise, or minor injuries can be part of a fun activity. This situation is different: it involves a serious risk that requires prior experience. For locals, who are familiar with the activity and have the necessary skills, this may not be an issue. For tourists without prior experience, I would not recommend this activity, despite the excellent guidance provided. This information is essential so visitors can make an informed and safe decision.
We had a great time. Complete beginners- our guides really looked after us. We all thought the experience was a highlight of the trip!
Highlight of our trip in Switzerland. Had such a great time sledding down the mountain with all the twists and turns. Tour guides were great, and the group I was with was a blast! Highly recommend!
If you like speed and don't mind the snow this is a great experience! Some of the runs got fast, but the instructors are great at assisting where needed.
Is this experience worth the cost and the answer is simple… if you love a thrilling experience, beautiful views, and excitement, all in one then the answer is absolutely yes!!! This is not the typical sledding you think of in your backyard, this is fast speed down the mountains with lots of curves and beautiful views. I would absolutely do this again.
It was so fun! The right amount of risk for me :) great view with the moonlight and thoughtful guides.
This is one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I am a 60 year old woman and did this with my 23 and 28 year old kids and husband and other 60+ year old family members. It is somewhat physically challenging but so worth it. Beautiful views and we were fortunate to have an amazing snowfall before going. Our guide Poca was very nice. The drive up the mountain was a little scary at times because we had some problems with the chains on the tires but once we got up to the top it was amazing. It was very nice to have access to snowpants, boots etc so we didn’t have to pack them. I highly recommend this trip.
We really enjoyed the experience of interacting with the ski gondolas after dark and then making our way down the hill on our sleds. The company runs the event well and we enjoyed our guide.
It was a great experience. Was timely managed and nicely organised. Larger groups are not recommended. Gets too crowded
the trip leader was amazing and made the experience all the more fun with his great music choice and insightful information. the tour I'd originally booked had to be cancelled due to lack of snow, but the staff were amazing and offered a refund or a alternate track which included a hike and a free rental of the hiking boots. it was overall an amazing experience and the views from the top were just gorgeous. would definitely book with this company again if I were to return to Switzerland.
My sisters and I loved our night sledding with fondue dinner experience through Outdoor. We don't ski but wanted to do something outdoors while we were in Switzerland and thought this was the perfect activity. The hotel pick up/drop off was nice so we didn't have to navigate the town since we didn't have a car. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, even before arrival when we had questions, they promptly got back to us. Neil was a great guide, keeping it fun, but also made sure we felt safe and comfortable the whole time. We chose to include the fondue dinner because we wanted to make sure that got that experience as well in Switzerland. It was a cool experience and we are glad we were able to try it, but none of us necessarily loved it. If you get to experience a fondue meal at another time, you could just do the night sledding and not opt to do the fondue dinner that's included. We were just there for a short amount of time and wanted to make sure we had a fondue meal and we are glad we did. We ended up renting ski pants, and I'm glad we did. It was mild the night we went, but it did start to snow and it's nice to not get your pants wet before you go to dinner.
Learning to toboggan was fun but I was under the impression it was a maintained trail with lights along the side and a groomed path. It’s truly an unlit path in the woods. We didn’t have a clear night so it was hard to see where you were going and we had to walk a lot because the fresh snow slowed down the trail. It’s a coin toss: if you have a clear night I bet it’s more fun. The lights in the photos are what the guides have you wear so they can find you. You wear them on your back so it doesn’t help you see. One guide was great, the other clearly didn’t want to be there.
it was my first time doing such intense sledding and it was even thrilling at night! there were many guides to ensure our safety throughout the trail down. fondue after was great but i think coming from Singapore with multiple religions, i would suggest Outdoor to indicate that the fondue has alcohol as there was a couple with us who were from Dubai which meant no alcohol and no pork in their diet - they ended up watching us eat the whole dinner :/ Process: we were picked up by the guide and proceeded to the shop to fill our names. please note to wear snow/hiking boots and SKI PANTS. lots of people had to rent ski pants. jeans will not do cause it absorbs water and you will freeze. we were then driven to a location to collect our sleds + take the cable car up (it was just side by side). there was a bit of walking involved to our sledding start point and from there, the guides will teach you how to control your sled and what to do IF you fall into deep snow. the trail was F A S T - not meant for kids hahahah. and the turns can get pretty sharp so there is a lot of controlling going on. one will work up a sweat after. there is also a lot of stopping and walking involved as some parts of the trail are flat ground and not a slope, which is not suitable for sledding. lastly, we end up sledding down a deep but short slope. PLEASE note that you may get injured. we were not given instructions to stand up and move to a side at the end so the sleds keeps coming down and banging into the people/sled in front. i got injured at the very end when we were all ready to leave because one of the participants still had the sled on the ground (maybe she just sledded down) and i stepped on it and hit my calf with my own sled that i was carrying. i had the fondue package so i was whisked away to the restaurant near the shop at the end. the pre fondue dinner which was macaroni and bacon was really great (again, Outdoor should indicate that there is pork for their muslim guests).
This trip exceeded my expectations! In the USA sledding is for children but not in Switzerland, these sleds went fast! We had a blast going down the mountain and the view at night was amazing! Enjoyed the fondue experience at a famous interlaken restaurant. Highly recommend.
Okay to start with: I'm not a snow activity person. I've skiied once and didnt love it. I've never sled before. But 'nightsledding' in the Alps sounded so appealing and I wanted to push myself out of my comfot zone. I was definetely nervous and scared; infact, I was always at the end of the pack taking my own time. I couldnt have done it without such a great staff member Ana. She was with me the whole time, gently encouraged me, watched out for me, sled on the outsides to make me feel safer... she was the true rock star. Thank you Ana! The whole team was very friendly and supportive. I'ts a very surreal experience to be out there in the mountains in the dark... Our legs were burning during and after and all of the next day. Be prepared for a workout!
After thinking this activity would be cancelled due to a lack of snow, we had an eleventh hour reprieve! We got to sled Isenfluh with a party of nine! The stars at the top of the gondola ride alone would have made the entire night worth the journey. Sebastian was a great tour leader. A real local with some great insights, a wonderful sense of humor, and a confidence on the trail. There was not a lot of light, but enough to have a great time and feel safe at all times. I strongly recommend this activity for anyone looking for another way to enjoy the winter weather in Interlaken! I think next time I would opt out of the fondue dinner. You're in Switzerland, you're gonna eat melted cheese along the way. While this certainly wasn't an overpriced dinner, and the ambiance of the restaurant was great, swarms of exchange students from Florence swamped the restaurant, making the course of the evening a little unclear, causing a separation of our party, and leaving us on a fine-but-sometimes-awkward first date with another pair of sledders.
The night sledding was a really good experience. I went in a group of 10 friends and we all had a blast. We were disappointed in the fondue dinner. Although, the dinner tasted good it wasn't as filling as we hoped. The salad was very small, they gave us 1/4 glass of wine, the pasta was small, but the fondue with bread was good.
It's definitely fun and so beautiful! We went close to a full moon night and the snow was just lighted up by the moon light. lights were just used on our backs so that fellow night sledders can see us and not hit us. I definitely want to do more sledding whether night or day. The stretch that we did sledding on was actually a summer road turned into a winter lane :)
I went to Interlaken this past weekend and this is one of the excursions I did. The weather was perfect and it was a super cool unique experience. Would definitely recommend. Sleds go very fast and breaking and turn wasn’t always easy so some athletic ability is helpful.
We got lucky with a perfectly clear, windless night and a full moon. I heard on most trips it’s hard to see anything off the track (which makes it mysterious) but we had the pleasure of seeing all the mountains in the moonlight. Felt like we were in real-life Mario Kart speeding down some of these runs around corners and through the trees. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, the entire experience was punctual and efficient, and fondue at the end was a fun cap to the trip. Loved getting to know fellow sledders from around the world. Overall amazing!
Wow !! What an experience! Staff were insanely friendly and so welcoming. The sledding itself was so much fun, and beautiful up on the mountain at night (you’ll never see a sky so clear and full of stars). If you’re unsure whether or not this activity is worth it and whether or not you should go, DO IT!! You won’t regret it ! It Has been the highlight of my one month Europe holiday !
Will definitely repeat the experience next winter. The staff were great (there were a few patches without snow and they went out of their way to look after the group), the weather was fantastic and the sledding itself was perfect. I never thought night sledding was something I wanted to do (let alone repeat) but after this experience, al I can say is: if you're in Interlaken, you absolutely have to do this!
Cancelled it at short notice leaving me no time to find suitable alternative. Still not been refunded despite them saying they will do it straight away. But clearly have not and not been honest with viator about them cancelling it!! Some sort of scam here or what?
We had a special family evening and the staff went out of their way to look after our children. Definitely worthwhile.
This might have been our favorite part of the trip. The sledding was such an adrenaline rush which was completely unexpected. You get to ride through trails in the dark. You can go way faster than I expected. I took a tumble or two but still had a blast. And to be out on the mountain at night with a clear sky was incredible. Fondue dinner was great too. Would definitely recommend. I enjoyed the meal and we had worked up quite an appetite so it was perfect.
They clearly try to maximize the amount of people they can have per group and that takes away from the experience. You have to wait for the whole group to catch up which leads a lot of down time. On top of that only 6 people in the whole 40 or so person group get to wear a head light which is pretty terrible considering it is pitch black outside. They should also refund people when half the trail is cement.
I thought this experience was amazing, however towards the end of the season I believe they should discount the tickets because the trail isn't groomed to well. We experienced a lot of walking parts because there was open asphalt. Also I think that they should either take smaller groups or give out more headlamps. It was very dark and at some points you can get separated and visibility is low. The fondue experience was very nice. Included unlimited bread, and water. The food served was salad to share with the table, white wine, swiss mac n cheese and of course, the fondue.
If you're looking for an adrenaline-rush and you love going fast, you'll absolutely love Night Sledding. it might seem a little scary at first but as soon as you start going.. YOU'RE GOIN. Tommy was the best guide as well too, he made stops every now and then to make sure that everyone was all together, so if you're worried about getting lost, don't worry, the man Tommy GOT YOU. on all levels except not, you will love this. FULL. SEND.
Just the trip up to the top of the mountain alone was amazing. The sledding itself was indescribably cool. You pick up so much speed and I had a blast! The dinner was delicious and you would never get that much good food there for what you paid. Totally worth it.
The experience was really nice. I was very beginner and went for it on my arrival day. The team were very nice and helpful and it was very much fun. I'd recommend it for anyone.
Night Sledding was so much fun!! The actual ride was very enjoyable, and it does require a bit of effort so I wasn't cold at all. The fondue restaurant was also very charming, and we were served a delicious pasta and a salad even before the cheese fondue came out. The guides were amazing and so much fun, and at the very end, after we had returned our gear, they even drove me and my friends home to our airbnb so we wouldn't have to call an expensive taxi.
Out of all the activities we booked for our trip to Interlaken, this one by far surprised us the most. We got picked up from our Hotel in Interlaken right on time by a lovely guide, who took us directly to Outdoor Interlaken (it was only about 5 minutes away...we could have walked!). We signed in and got straight into a mini bus and was driven up to collect our sleds and to get the gondola. It was pitch black and the views of the lights from the town below and the stars above were incredible. The sled run was so much fun! We didn't have headlights, but each sledder wore a red light on their back so those behind could see them. Could be considered quite dangerous, but it added to the thrill and the whole experience. Be prepared to go very fast and to fall off a couple of times if you aren't so good at steering from the edge. Definitely a huge and unexpected rush of adrenaline after. We will be coming back and we will 100% be bringing more friends. Must do experience!
Night sledding and my trip to Interlaken was INCREDIBLE! Outdoor Interlaken has knowledgable guides & excellent service. Not only that, but night sledding itself was SO fun. Very safe and a total blast. I would absolutely recommend Outdoor Interlaken for all your adventures!
We were lucky to get a clear night and s full moon. Picked up from hotel and taken to shop for cloth UK NGOs rental, (recommend ski trousers if you don't have them) then taken up to the gondola, picked up sled and rode to the top, (freaky at night). The sled run down is able to be done at whatever speed you are comfortable at and only a minimum level of fitness is required. Awesome views and quietness.
My wife and I did night sledding and found it extremely enjoyable. Our guide, Peter, did a great job providing instruction to the group and talking us through the experience. the overall track was enjoyable and was as advertised with sledding through the forest, seeing the swiss alps and observing a frozen waterfall.
Different of the pictures, there wasn´t safety equipment, such as a helmet. For those who never did it before, if has difficulties, do not count on having a structure to help you. As the guide goes ahead with the others and there is no guide in the back of the group to check if there was an accident or someone needs help. I had difficulties, I informed the guide and he just changed my sledding. I had several difficulties and there was no vehicle to drive me to the final point. If you have difficulty, you need to go ahead anyway, until the end, there is no way to give up. In the last down, I crashed, hit one of the trunks on the side of the track, getting a big bruise on the thighs and the left arm, and although the group was at the end, and also the guide, which saw it happened, nobody assisted me. I was seriously injured and, because there was no guide at the end of the group, on several occasions I almost fell on the track (trere insn´t protective barrier in all the track. Actually, it was only on a half of the track) and, if it would happeed, no one would have seen to assist me, and it could have been much more serious because there were no safety equipments. For those who have never done it, it is not easy to make the turns and, if there is a lot of snow, the sledding grabs in several sections. So, if you never did sledding, like me, the trip is not safe, unfortunately.
It was fun and not as easy as I thought but we managed pretty decently. Would have been nice if all were prepared for darkness. Guide didn't expect our group to be that slow hence not prepared for the dark. Thank goodness I brought my headlamp. Overall was good but no pictures. Would be perfect if guide had like taken pictures of the group sledding down along the way. That would have complete our experience.
Was better than expected! The team were brilliant and made sure everyone was well looked after. Unique experience!
Our school group enjoyed the slightly scary ride down the mountain for night sledding - only because it was so dark (no lighted track - but that lends to the adventure) and some of us had never done real alpine sledding before. Our guide, Tommy, was very friendly and made sure that we were safe and stayed together on our trek down the mountain. We were given flash light necklaces to make sure we could see the sled in front of us, so that helped. I would recommend this activity if you are adventurous and have done some sledding before - it is a fun and unique experience.
Had a bit of worry before starting it, because I heard there were some accidents with this activity. But when I finished it, I was sad I couldn't do more. 2 Guides kindly introduced us the way and how to ride the sled. It could be dangerous if you don't think about your speed, but if you are a normal person who thinks about your family it would be ok. The guides stops few times to check if there is anything wrong. And while coming down, the guides are at the front and back so they can care the participants. I highly recommend this activity.
Incredible experience. Greatly exceeded our expectations. Felt like we were in real-life Mario Kart. Guides were great and joined in on the fun with us. Pick-up and drop-off was very smooth. Renting clothes and boots was super easy too!

We didn't know what to expect, as we had only gone sledding down basic smaller hills in our town. It was exceptionally fun! Truly the longest sledding ride, with the thrill of going down the hill (sometimes very fast), and the extra added bonus of it being at night.

I had a great experience sledding in the alps but the employees were rude, unkind, and did not care for our concerns or safety. When I confided in them that I was worried about the experience they responded, "Well no one has died but people have been injured." I wanted to leave then and there.
Night sledding was awesome!! Best expiernece in Interlaken! The tour guides were great and the ride down the hill was spectacular!
We did the evening sled ride and fondue today. Overall, we loved the sled ride and the company provided a great service- pick up was seamless, our driver and one of the sled guides was so lovely, chatty and answered lots of questions about the area. We were given a safety demo and you could go fast (at the front) or slow (at the Back). We didn’t rate the fondue and wish we had skipped it and found somewhere else to have fondue instead- long wait, not that nice and the other dishes served with it (salad and pasta) were nothing special. Perhaps good for those who have limited time/options nearby but I’m sure you could fine nicer fondue elsewhere :)
We booked a tour to Switzerland and this was one of our optional activities. We were picked up from our hotel by Anna who was extremely friendly and chatty and then Seb took us up to the mountain to begin the sledging. We had all the gear but there was clothing, boots etc. you could rent out if you wished. It was pitch black but we all had lights on the back of our coats so we could see where we were going and we had a safety talk and demonstration before we started. If you were unsure you could go at a slower pace if so; Seb always waited for the whole group to reach a certain point before continuing. The view was exceptional and it was a really great experience. We had the fondue afterwards and that was nice, and we also were given a starter, dessert and free drink with it also which was good. 100% recommend to anyone travelling to Interlaken, you will not regret it! Such a unique experience!
I did the night sledding tour with an older relative and it was a great experience. The views of the mountains, the valley, and the snow-lined trees were incredible. The tour guides were truly AMAZING, providing extra instruction and encouragement when needed. I would definitely recommend this to others, but may be more challenging for some.
