Itinerary
Meet your tourguide at Interlaken Ost train station before boarding the local train for a ride through the Lauterbrunnen valley.
Arrive at the village of Lauterbrunnen, surrounded by mountains and with a view of the surrounding mountains. A short walk through the village will take place to the local church, one of the photo stops on this tour.
Take your time at the view point of the Staubbach waterfall, the 297m high waterfall in the village.
The tour continous by a 10 minutes aerial gondola ride from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp. Enjoy the view of the village and the waterfall, while the aerial gondola takes you up to Grütschalp. Over here, you change onto the narrow gauge train, which takes you 15 minutes along the ridge to the village of Mürren. The scenic ride gives you views of Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau.
Mürren is a traditional Walser mountain village in the Bernese Highlands of Switzerland, at an elevation of 1,638 meters above sea level and it cannot be reached by public road. You have the chance to discover this scenery by yourself, you can cross the entire village within 20 minutes. Several restaurants and bars invite you to relax, to enjoy the view, or discover old wooden chalets and green meadows. Your tour guide is available to you for information or hints about Mürren and places to go.
After your stay, the tour guide will guide you back to the local train from Mürren to Grütschalp and onto the cableway to Lauterbrunnen. From there by local train back to Interlaken, where the tour ends. If you want to visit other sights (e.g. Trümmelbach waterfalls or Wengen), you will get directions from the tour guide and you may leave the group. The group itself travels back for 20 minutes on the local train to Interlaken, where the tour ends.

Our family of 4 (all adults) were fortunate enough to have our own private tour with guide Chris Warren. He was wonderful. A retired school teacher, he was so personable, patient, and knowledgeable. We highly recommend you request him if possible! He does other tours as well, and we wish we had more time to book other tours with him.
Transport is via bus and train and can be very busy during peak periods. Our guide Michael was very knowledgeable and provided key advice as to what to see and do.
Tour in a small group was great to get information about the area not found in guidebooks was very informative and extremely enjoyable pace. Unique experience with a great tour guide
Had a wonderful tour with Roland. He’s very knowledgeable about the area and showed us so much! We had a group of four, plus Roland. It was the perfect size.
April in the Alps means variable weather! We started the day in Lauterbrunnen under low clouds that stayed with us on our high speed gondola ride to Murren. Fortunately, after about an hour, the clouds broke and we were treated to magnificent views of the mountains. This is the very end of the ski season and no shops were open. We were able to enjoy lunch on a terrance with a view. The cog-wheel tram was not yet open so we took a leisurely walk down hill to the "old" gondola. We made an impromptu stop at Trummelbach Falls - highly recommend. FYI - with only my husband and I it turned out to be a private tour. Our guide was very good, but I forgot to write down his name! I've included his photo.
Roland was on time and very nice! He showed us the best spots for pictures! Took us to a great lunch place! Would highly recommend! The day turned out to be a beautiful day!!
Highly recommend this tour! Loved the small group attention. Our guide, Alex was excellent and taught us so much about what we were viewing as well as Swiss culture. The scenery from Murren was unforgettable. Definitely recommend this tour.
We had such a great morning and afternoon exploring Launterbrunnen and Mürren! The scenery is incredible and our tour guide Christoph did such a great job teaching us things about Switzerland!
It was a good experience seeing Murren and Lauterbrunnen. Our guide Roland was great. Thank you for a wonderful day.
This was a very interesting tour to the highest village in Switzerland. The guides were very knowledgeable and were very helpful for making this a memorable experience.
The tour guide is nice and very experienced. Made the trip more majestic. Helpful when he offered hiking option vs take train only
Michael was an excellent tour guide. We enjoyed learning about Lauterbrunnen and Muren and seeing the highlights of both places. He was very accommodating to our schedule and very knowledgeable about both cities, as well as, Switzerland in general. He recommended a delicious lunch place for us in Muren. He also made sure we had the best seating and positioning in order to get the best landscape views from the train and cable car rides. Fantastic guide.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy going. He knew a lot about the area, history and answered all of our silly questions like why do the cows wear cow bells, etc.
This half-day tour was excellent! We were fortunate to have awesome weather and our guide Michael was excellent in leading us throughout the itinerary. Lauterbrunnen and Mussen had awesome views of the surrounding mountains, waterfalls and paragliding activities. The pace of the tour was just right and the hiking/walking involved was relatively easy for all ages.
Michael was a wonderful tour guide with good information and an interesting perspective having lived in both England and Switzerland. We navigated the train from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen and strolled over to Staubbach Falls. We then took the cable car and train to Murren and did a quick tour of the small village before grabbing lunch. After lunch, the group had the freedom to take the train and cable car back to Lauterbrunnen or to walk the trail. Overall it was a very nice experience.
We had perfect weather on June 21. Christoph, our guide, was excellent. He was entertaining and very informative.
This was a lovely tour with Michael. He was kind, helpful, knowledgeable and just very pleasant. He made the trek from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen and Murren really easy, and was accommodating to all in the group. The tour guide usually makes or breaks the experience, and Michael made it a very nice one. We separated at the end of the tour, so we didn’t get the chance to thank Michael in person, so would like to thank him very much through this review!
Too expensive, no need for a guide to do this also we ride in train class 2 seats and on the way back we were standing because it was too crowded
We had a fabulous time and the viator guide Michael was Excellent!! The tour exceeded our expectations in every way ****** Both my husband and I found the views breathtaking. Michael demonstrated a professionalism and depth of knowledge which was exemplary!! We highly recommend this tour!!
The trip was great for the first time travelers like me and my daughter with disability. Tickets to the train, bus, and skyline was prebooked and we did not need to worry about that. The guide took us to the most beautiful places in the valley and on Mountain Majesty. He adjusted the pace of the trip and schedule to my daughter's special needs. I was very pleased with that. However, in my opinion, the cost is overpriced. Actually, that was the most expensive tour I booked in Switzerland. Therefore, if you can, plan and book tickets by yourself, do that.
We met our guide at the designated meeting point at the stated time, and delightfully found out we (my wife and our travel companions, total of four) were the only participants. We immediately headed out and had a very nicely paced day of discovery. This tour included Lauterbrunnen with gondola and train rides up to Murren. The waterfall experience and vistas of this area are indescribable and photos just don't convey the vastness of the surrounding peaks. Our guide was knowledgeable of the area and he was very helpful and interesting to talk to. Overall, a very great day and I would highly recommend this tour.
This tour was a small group tour, but nobody booked, so it was only our family of 3. It was more like a private tour. Our tour guide was very nice. We skipped Lauterberren and just went to Murren, as we loved playing with snow there. We spent 3 hours in Murren. It was sogood! In winter, I would recommend staying at or visiting Murren. If you know where you need to go, you really do not need tours for visiting towns. You can do this one on your own.
We were surprised that it turned out to be a private tour just for our family of 3. Our guide Michael happily showed us around the areas and it was a fruitful trip.
We loved everything! The views were incredible and Tony, our guide was informative, fun and charming! We learned so much!
We were under the impression that this was going to be a group tour, but found out at the meeting site that we were the only ones to sign up. If that was the case we likely would have cancelled, because we like a group tour aspect. We took the train to Lauterbrunnen and the gondola to Mürren and just walked around the cities. Not activities were done there, just walking and occasionally some facts about the city. We paid over $500 for this tour and could have done this on our own. The only things that needed payment were the train to Lauterbrunnen and the gondola to Mürren, and for my husband and I would have been under $100. Our tour guide was nice and we had good conversations, but this tour was not worth the amount we paid for it. I see now it is around $300 (so not sure why ours was so expensive i feel like we should get a partial refund or something) but in my opinion, you could buy the tickets on your own and get one of the guides at the train stations.
We had a nice time visiting both Murren and Laturbrenen. Beautiful little towns. However our tour guide needed to speak louder and could have shared information about the two towns and the surrounding area.
Maya was an excellent guide. Kudos to her and the knowledge she has. Murren was beautiful and a great place to visit.
Even throw it was a long time Septc2023, I stillremenber this tour it was well organized very good tour guide, knowledgable, always on time
Seeing the glaciers and the views of the mountains. Our guide, Eliette, was lovely and knowledgeable.
Tony treated us to a wonderful tour of the spectacular scenery in and surrounding Lauterbrunnen and Mũrren. His English is excellent. He is knowledgeable, professional, and personable. He also steered us to a restaurant in Mürren with great food and very reasonable prices. Well done, Tony!
Christophe was so knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with for the day. The entire day was breathtaking.
This was a great tour and the tour guide was really friendly and a great conversationalist. The tour guide answered our many questions regarding the economy and politics in Switzerland. In addition to using cable cars and trains we got to walk a lot which was good exercise. As always, the views were amazing!
This tour was considerably overpriced. We could have done this completely on our own and learned more. Although our guide was nice, he did not provide much info at all except directions. Paying this outrageous amount to drop us in Murren was very disappointing. Murren is a nice town, however paying $275 pp to be on our own was a complete rip off. I do not recommend this tour at all!
amazing information that our guide provided. the trip to Mürren is a beautiful exoerience. we will recommend your company.
Christoph Gobeli was fantastic. Did everything possible to make this a great experience and learning time even though the weather was not totally cooperating.
A wonderful tour! Our tour guide, Chris, was the best. He was very kind and very knowledgeable about the area, The tour takes you to beautiful places as a small group but also gives you plenty of time to explore on your own. Would definitely recommend!
Although the views during this tour are beautiful. It is ridiculously OVER priced. Do not pay this company to do this tour. You can do it on your own. Pay for the cable car when you get there and visit Murren on your own. When I took the tour the train was not working and I didn't know it was OFF season and only a handful of restaurants were open. I asked for a partial refund and was denied. $550.00 for two people for what we got is criminal. Buyer beware!
This was an excellent tour that started at the Ost train station in Interlaken and proceeded to Lauterbrunnen and Murren. Our guide was very knowledgeable and guided us through several different modes of transport flawlessly. Train, bus, ski tram. The views in Lauterbrunnen and Murren cannot be missed. Quite an incredible day and of all tours we took, this was THE MUST tour.
Our guide was excellent. He was knowledgeable and sensitive to our needs. We enjoyed the Eiger and all the information he provided for us.
First and foremost, I would recommend this tour to anyone! It was an absolute blast, even better than described and expected. We had Adrain as a tour guide and he was FANTASTIC! We got to hear so much about Swiss history and politics, talk a lot about how it compares to other parts of the world, and get the inside scoop on the entire Jungfrau region! We also saw the most incredible views and got to try out a variety of transportation. I would tell anyone that the cable car was no where near as scary as expected! I left sweaty palmed, but was excited to do it again on the way back down. A couple tips, definitely bring a water bottle if it’s going to be warm! There are multiple free drinkable spring water fountains to fill up at and you’ll want it with all of the walking and hills. On that note, wear walking shoes for sure! We did a lot of hills, but it was very doable and worth it. I’d just say be prepared for it. Also, there is a walking path to “hike through the Swiss alps” instead of part of the upper funicular train ride, definitely do this! It’s a little extra walking, but mostly flat and not too far. It’s a completely different view and so incredible stunning. Thank you Adrian for the best day!
Christoph, is a wonderful person and a tour guide. He converse with us and have answered all questions that we asked him. The other good thing about this, is we gained new friend. The tour is amazing, never expected that it will be just me and my husband but I love it.
Our guide Anthony was so wonderful and knowledgeable. We had the most wonderful time with him and visiting the valley and Murren Alpine Village. I would recommend this trip to everyone and ask for Anthony.
This is a very relaxing , smooth and specially beautiful tour We took 3 Methods of transportation in order to get to Müren. Very easy with Tony our tour guide. Must go from Interlaken exceptional views
Norman was a great guide! Very knowledgeable and friendly! He picked a marvelous place for lunch with a view that was unrivaled
The tour ended up just being my husband and I so it was very special! Mike was like our own personal tour guide, with lots of knowledge and cool tips to share! Mike went above and beyond, extending the tour to the 10 waterfalls!! 100% recommend!!
While we found Lauterbrunnen to be a magical town, we were disappointed that our guide did not really engage with us other than when we asked him specific questions. One of the reasons we booked this tour was all of the reviews stating how informative the tour guides were so that was a disappointment. While he was a nice man, and we enjoyed the town, this seemed like a lot of money for someone to mainly just provide us with directions to the trains. We did not have what I would consider a tour guide. I think we missed out on that part of the experience compared to others reviews.
Our guide was amazing and so informative. The tour is really good and there were only 6 people in our group which made it personal and easy. The guide also gives you helpful information on other sites to see. Highly recommend this.
Adrian, the tour guide was fantastic, very well travelled and knowledgeable. The views at both Lauterbrunnen and Murren were breathtakingly beautiful. We travelled with a lovely family of 6 and all got on very well, loved the closeness of this tour.
Our guide was a wealth of information and he actually made the excursion so very memorable. On our walk thru both Lauterbrunnen and Murren he told us about the history of the villages, pointed out landmarks, and mountains. He had prepared for each family info on each village and a Swiss map of our journey from Interlaken Ost. Loved the walk between Murren and the gondulas we took. Very enjoyable day that I would recommend to all.
