A perfect location for a trip to Interlaken. The bus station is less than 5 minute walk. The train station is also walking distance. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and well kept. They have AC. For a Swiss outdoor vacation, where you don’t plan to be in the room much, this is a great place to stay. The TV does not have any streaming so only local channels. Other than that, great hotel.
The female receptionist handled the check-in process very unprofessionally. Instead of properly explaining the hotel facilities, breakfast arrangements, check-out time and other essential information, she simply showed me a board containing the check-in information and asked me to take a photo of it. Without any explanation or context whatsoever, she immediately produced a warning notice listing various fines and asked me to sign it. In all my years of staying in hotels, I have never encountered anything like this. Before offering even the most basic greeting or service, the hotel chose to begin by warning guests about penalties. This was extraordinarily rude and unprofessional. What made the situation even more offensive was that the receptionist specifically produced a Chinese-language version of the warning. This felt like clear targeting and discrimination against Chinese guests. I genuinely wonder whether guests of other nationalities are also required to sign such a notice, and whether the hotel keeps versions of this warning in every language. The whole situation was absolutely absurd. This was, without question, the most appalling and humiliating hotel experience I have ever had in Europe. To make matters worse, the breakfast was exceptionally poor and completely unjustifiable for the price charged. The shower area was extremely cramped, claustrophobic and inconvenient to use, and the limited space even raised genuine safety concerns.
Great dinner place during our recent trip to Interlaken! The service was excellent. Both the pesto and lemon risottos were delicious and perfectly cooked, and the fish and chips were very tasty. Nice selection of beverages, too!
The hotel decor is kinda funky, but not in a bad way. It's just different. Everyone at the front desk was welcoming and helpful. They provided breakfast boxes for us the day we checked out because it was so early and we had to catch a train to Zurich. The room was comfortable as were the beds. We had a small balcony with a nice view of the city and mountains. We had AC!! Rare in Switzerland. It's a short walk to the Interlaken West train station. Free breakfast buffet.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Interlaken and would happily return. The room was so spacious and it was clear that extra effort had been made to acknowledge our anniversary, which made the experience feel very special. The service throughout our stay was consistently friendly and helpful. We also tried the famous fondue during our visit, and it certainly lived up to the reputation. As a guest, the added discount made it even better value! The only minor downside was the breakfast, however there were still enough options available for us to find something to enjoy. Although the car park is small, it is free and we were able to find a space. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay, and we would absolutely love to return in the future. Thank you Hotel Krebs! ❤️ 🦞
