Carlton Europe - Adults Only

Disappointing for the price, despite good service We had very mixed feelings about our stay. The service was good, the staff were friendly and the food was enjoyable, but unfortunately the room and facilities were well below what we expected for the price. We stayed for four nights for our honeymoon and booked a double bed, but it was simply two single beds pushed together with completely separate mattresses. The room was also unbearably hot. We ended up with three fans in the room and were still only getting around 3–4 hours of sleep each night. We could also clearly hear footsteps from the room above, which made sleeping even more difficult. I was surprised that when I asked for an iron, I had to leave a cash deposit despite the hotel already having our card details. Even then, I was only given an iron with no ironing board. There also seemed to be additional charges for things I would normally expect to be included at a hotel in this price range. Breakfast was included, yet an omelette cost extra. There was also an additional charge to use the sauna and facilities. The advertised pool was extremely small and, in our opinion, more like a small pond than a proper hotel swimming pool. Considering the additional charges for the other facilities, it felt like there was very little actually included with the room. We travel regularly and understand that hotels differ, but at this price point we expected considerably more. The staff and food were good, but unfortunately the room, lack of sleep and additional charges really affected what should have been a special honeymoon stay.

The staff were professional, attentive, and always willing to assist with a smile, making me feel valued throughout my stay, especially David who provided Apple Drinks with warm welcoming. The room was impeccably clean, spacious, beautifully designed, and offered a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. Every detail reflected the hotel’s commitment to quality and guest satisfaction. The facilities were well maintained, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast was outstanding, featuring a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options that catered to different tastes. The location was also ideal, providing easy access to the city’s main attractions while maintaining a quiet and comfortable environment. What truly distinguished this hotel was its exceptional level of service and attention to detail. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. We had such a wonderful stay here! From the moment we walked in, the entire staff was incredibly welcoming and always greeted us with the biggest smiles.
