Looking for things to do in Innsbruck...? Our family has been organizing Tyrolean Evenings in Innsbruck since 1967 already, and for many people we are the musical ambassadors representing Innsbruck and Tyrolean Music around the world. Do not miss one of the best folk performances all across Europe which only includes authentic Tyrolean music, Folk dances and “shoe-slapping” as well as typical Tyrolean songs and “yodelling”. We will now be performing exclusively and on a daily basis at our new venue in the centre of Innsbruck, the ALPENSAAL AN DER MESSE (EXPO) which can be reached from the old town by a short 10-minute walk or by using the Tram line no. 1. New adress/meeting point: Alpensaal an der Messe/Expo Kapuzinergasse 11 (Entrance located around the corner in Ing.-Etzel-Straße next to the Tram Stop "Messe") 6020 Innsbruck

Dinner. Music. Laughs… Touristy and fun at the same time. Food was good. Took a bus from our hotel. Go.
We just returned from a miserable evening. We booked the dinner and show six months in advance and we were really looking forward to it. Well, about five days before the show we received an email that the venue had been changed and that as a consideration, we would have free drinks between 7 and 9pm. Alright, I thought, I’ve watched their promotional material and read the reviews, they will do the right thing. Boy, was I wrong, we were bused about 15 minutes to a restaurant banquet room with no stage, backdrop, or sound system. We were basically told the original venue was sold out, leading us to believe we were some sort of overflow… even though we booked six months in advance. So, we were in a different place, they served a different menu, and we had a different cast. I feel used. At this restaurant, there was one waiter and one server for about forty people. You can imagine how that went. Not good. The “free drinks between 7 and 9” means nothing when the first beer takes 40 minutes to arrive and the second is delivered at 8:50! As for the menu, they promised apple strudel but delivered some berry thing. They offered several Italian deserts as a substitute. Why would somebody go to a Tirolean event to have Italian deserts!? BTW, the beer served was Bavarian. I booked directly with the show. So, there is no middleman to blame. This is all on them. If you want to see a great show with enormous energy, there is a German restaurant in Sanford, FL that will make anybody happy. The show was disappointing. The cast was much smaller than expected. Surely not the A-team.
Amazing show and the dinner was great too! Fantastic performances with unique instruments and dancing. Where else can you hear yodeling, someone playing a saw with a bow, cowbells, and slap dancing? Great time!!!
This program was excellent!! I came here about 40 years ago with my parents and brought my family this time. The whole show was so awesome and enjoyable. Each of the performers is so incredibly talented. I thoroughly enjoyed the yodeling and also the men are so athletic and agile. The musicians are gifted and those playing the alpine horn must have incredible lung capacity! Such a wonderful evening!! Thank you!!
I opted for a "show only" ticket (no dinner). This was a very fun evening watching a variety of traditional Austrian entertainment. The cast really seemed to enjoy performing the various songs, dances and musical numbers utilizing a variety of traditional instruments. There was a brief intermission midway through the show. The venue was fairly small which made the performance feel very intimate. There were waitresses bringing mugs of beer and other types of beverages. All in all it was a very enjoyable evening and I would very much recommend it.
It was a brilliant show, very entertaining. we made a special stop while holidaying through Europe, to see this show again.
Highly recommend taking the meal before the performance. You have to like pork, potatoes, and sauerkraut, as that is the meal but very well done! The performance is truly excellent and very entertaining with many traditional Alps traditions and songs being performed. As close to a "must do" in Innsbruck as you can get.
We were expecting a hokey production, but this was really a lot of fun! The performers were having a good time, and the audience had fun too. The production included signing, dancing, yodeling and musical performance, all done by very talented people. I'd recommend this to anyone travelling in the area!
Enjoyable show. A number of worried, musical performances. I highly recommended.it. Seems the only good showiwent in town in the evening.
Fun musical show with yodeling, singing, dancing and instruments from the Austrian culture. Good dinner and lots of fun!!
I loved this show! The range of musical talents each person had was astounding! The show was upbeat, and fun, and I got to see and hear some instruments I never knew existed. I chose the dinner option and it was hearty and delicious. I also chose pickup/drop off option and was so glad I did. The location is off the beaten path and as I was alone I was thankful I didn’t have to find the bus stop in the dark. The staff made sure to connect me with the driver after the show to ascertain I got a ride. Very thankful. This show was one of my favorite things on my month long vacation.
Had a blast! The meal beforehand was better than expected, though it would have been nice to have a bit of music playing while we ate. The staff were very friendly. The show was great fun, with impressive musical and dance performances. It reminded us of a circus - very well drilled acts providing seamless entertainment. I wonder whether the Gundolf show is now the inventor rather than custodian of Tyrolean historic culture, as this went through all the greatest hits! Some seem designed for the show rather than curated from the region. Not that it matters - thanks to all concerned for a throughly enjoyable evening!
10/10! We had an amazing time! We chose the dinner and show combination. The food was very good and prompt to the table. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. I recommend this show to anyone that likes this type of food and entertainment. We stayed in Seefeld and had to take the 23:20 train (last one) after the show. My wife DID NOT like the 15 minute walk to the main station at 22:00 but I kept assuring her we were safe and we were.
First saw this show 44 years ago and loved it. Brought my mom 42 years ago, so when my husband and I visited Innsbruck I had to bring him. He absolutely loved it!!! Service for dinner before was excellent and all cast members are extremely talented. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area. One tip-entry was a bit difficult to find. The doors were dark and sign seemed to be directing you around the corner. We came back around and tried the doors which were unlocked and went upstairs. We arrived a little early, so perhaps the sign was moved closer to start time.
Good dinner and the show was a lot of fun. If you’ve never seen a Tyrolean show, I recommend you to do so.
Fun, light hearted evening. Traditional songs, dances, music and costumes. Meal was pleasant. Food was traditional. Staff worked hard and were friendly. Would recommend.
Excellent show! Go and see it, you will not be disappointed! Great for families, the performers are exceptionally talented and the variety of performances is great, they got the whole audience going. It has a wonderful atmosphere and some real unusual instruments and parts of the show that have to be seen. If you are thinking about going, just do it.
The show was fantastic and entertaining, highly recommended if you want an Austrian experience. The food was a little disappointing though.
Flawless. Dinner and show excellent.
A fun way to spend the evening in Innsbruck! We didn’t have the food so can’t comment on that but we had a good experience.
The dinner was delicious and the music and dancing, very entertaining. We had only one night in Innsbruck and considered it well spent! It was a very enjoyable evening!
For a rollicking fun night do yourself a favour and get along to this amazing Austrian folk show you are sure to have a laugh and a wonderful evening
An excellent exposure to Tirolean culture, showcased very well. The seating arrangements were comfortable and the location is very convenient and accessible. It is walking distance from the main train station and is directly on the Bus Route serving the city. You get a discount on the Innsbruck Card. The performers were capable and whole hearted in their performance.
The show itself was brilliant. Well worth going to. We didn’t have the dinner which I am glad of as not too many people ate it. Desert was obviously good, they could have had another member of staff on to deal with the drinks and dinner.
What a fun evening. Sit down and enjoy the show: we ate dinner and enjoyed beverages while we watched the family put on a thoroughly entertaining program. Well worth it if you are looking for an authentic Tiroler evening with the added bonus of dinner!
The show was a variety of traditional tyrolean songs, yodelling, dancing and music. It was good fun but the seats are hard wooden benches. We got a free drink but did not have the opportunity to buy more as they could not serve quick enough to get round everyone. 90 minute show was long enough to sit. The venue lacks the atmosphere of seeing this type of show in a village as I did when last in Austria 35 years ago. We didn't have the food but it looked ok but a basic meal with no choices. For a taste of tradition it was a good evening.
Best experience ever. Dinner was excellent and so of me people running it. The show was amazing and so was the performers.
A joyful experience! Enjoyed the multigenerational entertainers sharing their culture and talent. The crowd was cheering and singing along to the celebration of all the countries represented in the audience.
Amazing show! So much fun to watch for kids and adults! We had a great time and would do it again!
Did not feel welcome when we arrived for meal. Sat in the foyer area to eat ours. Food was ok. Wasn't sure if we would stay but the actual show was very good
Great fun and very special to experience authentic Austrian folk song and dance - plus some yodeling and slapping.
Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the show and the meal. We were seated about 3 rows back, and we ate the meal during dinner. (There is an option to eat first, then watch the show). The entertainment was fantastic - it appealed to everyone in our group (16, 22, 50's, 70's). We all agreed that it was the highlight of our trip to Innsbruck. Service was excellent during the meal, and the staff was helpful when we expressed concern regarding food allergies. I would recommend this to anyone traveling to Innsbruck!
We'd seen this show in 2001 on our last visit to Innsbruck, and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing it again! The performers had so much energy and clearly loved what they do, and we loved seeing so many different Tyrolean traditions. The woodchoppers' dance, with chips flying from the hatchets, the miners' dance with hammers on spikes and a real gunpowder charge, the yodeling, the songs, the singing saw--we loved all of it. A must-do in Tyrol!
Loved the show!! So much talent!! I was smiling the whole time!! Very entertaining!!
It is cheesy in the best way! We had kids ages 3-12 and all were engaged during the performance. The food was better than expected as well!
The show and food were fantastic but the best part was the staff. They helped me surprise my 87 year old mom with a birthday cake and they also accommodated my husband's service dog. All night they made sure we are taken care of. Thank you so much Tirol Abende team!
More of a theatre performance. The dancing and music was excellent! Recommend the narrator engage the audience more by providing context and background which would have enhanced the significance. Some people had buffet dinner and some didn’t- it was quite noisy with kitchen. Wish the narrator engaged the group more. Felt a bit corralled in. Great concept but you need an engaging narrator! Not sorry we attended for the experience but wanted more from it. Unfortunately we left early.
This was an amazing experience, the dinner was delicious and the show is a must see. I highly recommend visiting.
Great sow with bad dinner experience . The table had a chewed chewing gum which was probably left from last shoe which has given me a first indication about the qaukity of hygiene , the food was very average with salty main dish served . The staff tried their best to facilitate the huge amount of crowds coming to show and I felt that they were overwhelmed.
A splendid evening, full of entertainment and laughter. Excellent example of language being no barrier for a cultural experience. You lose track of time. Also engages the audience. From young ones to the elders, each and every person will thoroughly enjoy it
Great relaxing evening. We had a delicious dinner; very generous portions. Local dish from the area. Everyone so friendly and welcoming. We first had dinner and drinks at7PM- then in the next room we sat and watched the show. Singing, dancing and playing instruments. Great night for all ages. Easy 15 minute walk from old town Innsbruck. The whole city is very clean and walkable.
We had the dinner & show. The 3 course meal was very tasty, friendly staff & entertaining show. Very talented musicians and great to see some younger participants. The family is obviously very proud of their history. Well done!
We had an amazing time at this show. Dinner was very good too! So glad we came. Show had some very talented dancers, singers and musicians for certain!
We loved the whole experience! Even our teenage boys (13,15,17) got into the spirit eventually! The food was lovely but the portions were overly generous in my opinion and could be smaller and still fine with the option for more for those who wish? If you have fussy eaters then I recommend they eat something before you arrive as the menu is fixed but there is also bread. Even our fussiest child enjoyed the bread and the soup. We highly recommend the evening to anyone visiting Innsbruck as an opportunity to enjoy some Austrian culture and food.
She show was amazing from start to end. Every part moved swiftly to the next. I had the Innsbruck Card which meant to had discount of 25 percent off the show and meal package which I felt was value for money. There was a 3 course meal included in the package pumpkin soup served with rye bread, roast pork, sauerkraut, potatoes and gravy and finishing off with apfel strudel and cream. The package included a drink - I chosen beer to go with the meal. I was placed on the second row close to the stage.
We had an amazing evening watching the show. Due to a lower number of participants, the location was changed to a local restaurant (Bierstindl), which actually turned out to be a bonus, as it made the whole experience feel much more private and intimate. It also gives me a good reason to return in the future and see the full show at their main location. I would highly recommend this experience when visiting Innsbruck.
Wonderful experience, authentically traditional Austrian dancing, music and culture. Beautifully homely with the family performers also helping audience members getting settled and feeling welcome. One of the best experiences in Innsbruck.
Our family of 4 (kids ages 18 and 21) enjoyed our evening.. Good food and entertainment. We were able to book on short notice. Easy walk from old town hotel.
An entertaining, talent filled show, what really struck me is that you can see the immense pride for country and history that each of the talents exhibited, every new act was a pleasant surprise! Believe me this show is worth every penny of your time, and is a great way to get introduced to the Austrian alpine culture. I got the dinner and show and dinner was also such a warm and home cooked welcome to their cuisine and culture. Highly highly highly recommend 10/10! Bonus mention, wait till the end for a personal surprise, they're so thoughtful.
