Visiting the Bergisel Ski Jump was a great experience, and the views across Innsbruck and the surrounding mountains are absolutely fantastic. It’s well worth visiting for the scenery alone, and seeing the ski jump up close is an experience in itself. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the gallery at the end of the visit. It was supposed to offer an immersive gallery experience, but it really didn’t live up to expectations. In our opinion, it would be better to close this section until it can offer something worthwhile, rather than leaving visitors feeling let down. Overall, it’s worth a visit for the spectacular views and the opportunity to see such an iconic sporting venue, but don’t expect too much from the gallery at the end.

Good demo by ski jumpers in the summer. Great views of Innsbruck mountains and city and much less expensive than the cable car.
Wow....wow....wow...You have to visit when in Innsbruck!! Could have spent longer, tbh but had other sites . Well worth money .
Really interesting and amazing place to walk around! Well designed, great view of the city and makes you really appreciate the skill of the jumpers!
Fantastic place! Not much going on as off season however really interesting to walk around, great view of Innsbruck (considerably cheaper than Nordkette) and really makes you appreciate the skill involved!
We enjoyed viewing the impressive ski jump and had lunch at the Bergisel Sky Cafe. It was definitely worth the visit for the amazing views!
Visiting Innsbruck this was one of our essential adventures, and it certainly didn't disappoint. While I'm not a winter sports enthusiast, the rich history of this location and the stunning panoramic views from the summit truly captivated me.
Great to visit and get a view of what the ski jumpers can see as they start their descent. Would recommend
Really cool and fun for the family. Great view from the top and exciting history. Food at the SkyView restaurant was delicious!
The funicular to the top is fun. Wish we could’ve known when to go to see ski school using the jump. Fascinating to see it. The parking is tricky. Not clearly marked or had instructions where to park
The ski lift was not available till November 20 which was disappointing even though we could use the funicular
We went from 10 am till noon and saw Thomas jump six times. That made the visit an unforgettable experience, especially as we were able to ask him tons of questions about his sport. The building in itself is an architectural feat, yet in itself isn't worth the detour if not paired with the "ski flying" demo. We took bus 589, very convenient from downtown, but only hourly. Gift shop has several cool collectibles.
If you ever watch watched ski jumping at the Winter Olympics you will know what this is. The sheer size would put fear into the average skier. The viewing platform give an excellent view over Innsbruck. Were they joking when they located the end of ski jumping next to cemetary?
Nice to visit with breathtaking views. Very run down place. One hour maximum visit though. Taxi best way to visit as up a mountain.
Spent a good hour here taking the tram to the top and the lift to the viewing platform. The jumpers are absolute dare devils and a joy to watch. Then went and sat in the sun on the deckchairs and admired their grace and bravery from the other end. Stunning views over Innsbruck. We went early and are glad we did as it was easy to get around without any waits.
Most of the reviews tell how to get there and to get discount tickets, rather than helping would be visitors avoid a waste of time and money on the worst of around 15 sites we visited in Innsbruck. The Bergisel site is run down and basic. If you like ski jumping, it may change your mind. If you are unfamiliar with it, you will learn nothing. What a missed opportunity for a place with a reasonably storied history. There is no interpretive signage or video clips to give you a sense of what happens here or what the experience might be like. The cafe kitchen closed an hour early and the staff were slow, surly, and uninterested— a good argument for American tipping. If you just want a view, save your last 500 steps and enjoy the Tirol Panorama just below it. The only thing we got out of our 35 minute visit was 15 minutes of uphill hiking. Do the Nordkette lift or Tyrolean Folk Museum to see how an operation should be run and for an experience you’ll remember that provides real value for your money.
If you love the Olympics and love sports, be sure to skip this. You get to ride up pn the funicular - but the Nordkette trip blows this one away. When you disembark, there is nothing to enlighten you at all.. no explanation of the sport of ski jumping and how it's changed, what goes on there now, no history of how this amazing structure was built, no pictures from the Olympics or later competitions- nothing. But wait, there's more. You CAN subject yourself to rude and shoddy treatment from the completely dismissive cafe staff. If you have the innsbruck pass, there are WAYYY better ways to spend your time than on this terribly presented attraction. Trust me on this one.
Currently half price entry (5 Euros for an adult). Funicular out of order so a few hundred steps up. Elevator in tower ok. Best to catch the 589 bus from the station. Number 1 tram will leave you with a 15 minute uphill walk.
Amazing experience and a must see if travelling to Innsbruck for a few days . Easy to get to on the No 1 tram and then a 10 minute walk to the jump. Wonderful views even in foggy weather ..Be warned that the funicular is not working at present so there are a lot of stairs .
Bergisel itself Is interesting place with amazing view to visit. BUT Trip advisor offers ticket for full price. (We baught it on-line one hour before visit) There is in these days 50% discount for all tickets bacause the lift is out of order for many weeks. The man at cash desk told us that all reselling partners where immediatelly informed to reduce the price. Why Trip advisor sells the ticket for full price???
What a great place for a visit. Lovely café with panoramic views at the top, cool, little funicular to take you up there, and a chance to experience what it must’ve been like sitting at the top of that jump, very scary!
Great experience for the whole family (2 adults & 2 under 5) and all enjoyed the morning. The view is fabulous and an enjoyable walk over from town centre. Lunch was actually amazing, so yum considering I wasn’t expecting it to be that great or affordable but it turned out to be both! Would definitely come back to see the slope in action but we visited the week before the slope opened.
An interesting place to go especially if you are a fan of the winter Olympics. There is a gift shop at the entrance level and a lift to take you up to the ski jump to take in the view of the surrounding area.
The Bergisel jump is visible from many parts of Innsbruck, but it's when you get up there that you really realize how amazing this sport is. It's a fun visit and actually worth the trip there. Good views and, if you go at the right time, you might even see some practice runs.
This is a stadium for ski jumping on a hill in innsbruck, Austria where prestigious annual FIS Ski jumping world cup Four hills Tournament conducted. The view of people skiing and the surrounding valley from the top is worth the climb. This has funicular, a viewing platform for a panoramic view of the valley.
While visiting Insbruck we had to climb to the top of the Ski Jump, get a strudel in the cafe and look around the beautiful Alps. Very nice and worth a go!
Blue skies everywhere so we decided to walk from our hotel in old town Innsbruck. A brisk walk some 45 minutes although the last 700m is up hill and hard , if young and fit shouldn’t be a problem but we struggled along with most people . Paid €9 to take the tram to the very top and had a meal at the restaurant . The views of Innsbruck and surrounding mountains were fabulous and worth the time and effort , the view both top and bottom of the run were unbeatable , whoever’s competing and participates deserves a medal ( even if they come last ) I’ve never seen a run as steep and dangerous in my life . Conclusion. Worth every penny and effort to get there but make sure you go on a clear sunny day
Quite a climb to reach the entrance from where you can then get on the funicular to the viewing deck at the top. Wonderful views of the surrounding area below, which make you realize how high it actually is. However walking around the section where the funicular leaves from is actually better as you can view the jump upwards while standing where spectators would usually be. Walk up the stairs there and look upwards and you get an amazing idea of how daring these ski jumpers must be. Also gives you a chance to stand under the metal Olympic circles and see the list of names on the monument. Different coloured lights light it up after dark. Truly an amazing sight and hats off to the brave souls who do that jump!
For a small admission price this offers the visitor a glimpse into the world of ski jumpers for the Olympics Games. May to October they train twice a day using water over a plastic type material. I would have loved to see that. The skill and daring of these athletes is something to respects after viewing this ramp. A big plus is the view of Innsbruck.
I just like saying that word Bergisel… Ski jump! which after the winter Olympics in ‘72 was turned into an attraction… I think it’s a great idea, as well as a working ski jump… The Russian ski team was actually there the day my son Jake and I went to visit. The views are great and a cup of hot chocolate is welcome and if you’re in Innsbruck or any winter Olympic town, you ought to make your way up to the ski jump… This is my second as I have also been up top at Lillehammer Norway… A cool collection to make!
Since it was cloudy and raining we figured we might be able to see Innsbruck from the Ski Jump. It was very nice. Great little ride up to the top and a nice restaurant. Viewing area was great with the weather conditions. Long walk up the hill from the street to get there but it was worth it.
Visited the ski jump on the way to Innsbruck. Very impressive. We had the bonus of two jumpers practising while we were there. They are brave men! The view from the cafe at the top gives a good vista of Innsbruck and surrounding area. Well worth a visit to this Olympic venue..
It's awesome to visit a place where the Olympic Games had held. You usually don't visit a ski jump very often = so you should do this, while in Innsbruck! If you are lucky, you'll see some ski jumper practicing. We were lucky = we did! And you do have an excellent view!! Ergo: Go there = it's worth a visit!!
easy to get to on the hop on off bus if you have the innsbruck card...this card then gives you entry in...saw some skiiers practicing their jumps...had a tram up to the sky cafe for cake. good to go to but only an hour tops.worth going for the view from the top.
Not something you get to experience in many towns so do it. Walk up fro town is picturesque, then take lift to ski jump. Make sure to visit when jumpers are active, see website for times, as it makes the experience authentic. Cafe at top is reasonably priced, with good food and postcard views on a clear day. My tip - stay long enough to watch a jumper from each of these positions - top, end of jump, and top of slope at finish.
A convenient stop after visiting the Tirol Panorama. The entrance and cable car ride are free with the Innsbruck Card. We got a panoramic view of the city and the ski jump at the top which also hosts a restaurant. The ski jump is spectacular and worthy of a visit.
Lovely views of innsbruck. Restaurant at the top. Lucky enough to be there when skier made a jump. Worth a visit.
We had the Innsbruck card so decided to use the tour bus to go see this and we were very glad that we did. When we arrived about 3pm there was no que and it was reasonably quiet. The lift to the ski jump viewing platform was really fun. It was quite windy at the top but great to experience the height they would jump from. We walked down rather than taking the lift which was great, you got to see the full view of the jump and get a feel for the scale of it. There was a little museaum/some photos which was really interesting to read a little into the history. Definitely worth the visit.
Easy to get to (take the sightseer bus or bus 1 from Marktplatz) - not sure about entry cost as was included with the Innsbruck Card. Amazing venue with superb views of the city and more. God knows why you would subject yourself to this however!! Would love to see it in action.
It was great seeing the Ski Jump Arena itself- it looks very impressive. Also, there is a restaurant at the tower top- the food was not impressive, but the city views have balanced that out. Worth of visiting.
Nice place worth of visit, breath taking views. Worth going there in winter when ski jumping competition is there, fantastic atmosphere,
A brilliant experience. The original Bergisel Ski Jump was used in the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics but was rebuilt in 2002 and can be frequently seen on TV. The new tower can be accessed on foot or, more sensibly, by gondola to the base of the top tower and then a lift to the top of the 45-metre tower. At the tower top is a restaurant with spectacular views out over Innsbruck and the surrounding mountains. There is also limited access to a platform directly above the athletes' take-off position which looks directly down the 'ramp' and into the 'bowl' where the athletes land and stop. This 'bowl' holds 28,000 spectators! An interesting (and possibly with foreboding) fact is that, just beyond the landing area is a huge cemetery - wile the athletes are flying, their view is straight into the cemetery! You leave with a feeling of amazement and conviction that all ski-jumpers must be crazy!
While it may be a bit of a walk to get there, the Bergisel Ski Jump is very interesting. Once in the arena, you can get the cable car to the top, view the jump from an athletes position, and even have a coffee and the special Bergisel Torte (shaped like the ski jump). Its a fantastic way to see the city of Innsbruck (and the cemetery) out in front. An amazing view. Right there!
Wife and I wanted to go see this as we could clearly see it from our hotel room. So we decided to head up one morning to try and catch a practice session. Were we luck to catch a few jumps in the morning session. It truly is something amazing to watch. We watched from the bottom and was hoping to catch some from the top. But they weren’t practicing that afternoon. But we did up to the top for the view and enjoyed a quick bit to etc at the restaurant. All and all we spent a good few hours up there. There was no need to get tickets early you can buy them right at the gate. We added the museum ticket with it. This is something we could have passed on.
Got a family ticket and spent an hour and half looking around, probably one of the cheapest things to do in Innsbruck and well worth a visit, the walk up to the top is not so bad!!
Seeing the venue was full of unexpected surprises. For example, there is a bronze plaque showing the medal winners from the 1976 Olympics. The highlight though was watching two people practice their ski jumps.
Nice experience. Beautiful view.
We drove spontaneously to the ski jump from Innsbruck city center by tram. It was an impressive excursion to see the ski jump live, the whole surrounding area. Fortunately, training jumps by the Austrian national team were taking place, and we rode up in the elevator with two jumpers!! There are many possibilities to explore the tower; we were even able to stand directly behind the takeoff beam (protected by a pane of glass) and watch the jumpers. The price-performance ratio is right, especially since we were also able to see the Tyrolean Imperial Infantry Museum with the combo ticket. A must for fans of ski jumping/ski flying when visiting Innsbruck.
Nice to see and experience, because at certain times there is also a high jumper in action. You also have a beautiful view over the city.
The ski jump itself is already impressive (large), and you cannot imagine what the mood and atmosphere must be like when a jump actually takes place. We arrived just in time to see a live jump by a former Nordic combined athlete from both below and above, which is somehow quite impressive. All in all, it is well worth the few euros for admission to such a place steeped in (sports) history and for the view!
