Hvar: Island Tour With Wine And Olive Oil Tasting

Lucas was a wonderful guide and we enjoyed our time on this adventure. The winery was such fun! We tried many wines and loved the presentation in the candle lit cellar. Scenery and sight seeing was fantastic and we learned a lot about Hvar on this, our first trip there. The vehicle was comfortable as we travelled the roads of the island to peaks with great views.

On a cloudy and rainy day, Luka saved the day! Not only was he incredibly friendly and professional, but he also shared fascinating stories about the island and Croatia in general. He even took us to his hometown on the way! The wine tasting was also fantastic, and we had the pleasure of sampling a variety of local wines. Overall, it was a perfect island trip. Thank you, Luka!

This was our one chance to get out of Hvar Town to see a bit of the rest of the island and, while the weather was not entirely cooperative, we did have some stunning vistas from carefully selected viewpoints. Our guide was courteous and solicitous, offering explanations of the terrain, vegetation, stone walls and other structures along the way. The wine tasting was a fine experience too, introducing us to several local varietals that we might not otherwise have known to select on our own. The host at the winery was friendly and welcoming, and he explained the origin of the various wines and also presented us with some olive oil samples that nearly stole the show.

Lucas was wonderful! He was was very knowledgeable about the area and provided great insight to the beautiful island of Hvar! The wine tasting was great fun!

Just book it! Well worth the trip and island information. Luka was our driver and did such a espectacular job. Would do it again for the amazing views and great people you meet. Wine and olive oils were fantastic.

We booked this tour on a whim. We had no plans for Hvar. Luka picked us up in a can with just another couple. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He taught us history, and explained everything we asked. We stopped a couple of times before getting to the winery. The setting for the winery was magical and the wines were devine.i think we tested 10 wines. Luka was very honest and friendly. We definitely recommend this tour..

What a great experience. Luka was an amazing and knowledgable guide. He texted early to ensure we knew where to meet and if we needed anything. There was minimal walking through the tour and easy to get around. The van was very clean and plenty of size for our group.

He was friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to, which made the entire day feel relaxed and personal rather than like a typical organized tour. We loved learning about the local wines, olive oil, and Croatian culture along the way. Luka took the time to explain everything, answer our questions, and made sure we were enjoying ourselves throughout the experience. The scenery was beautiful, the wine and olive oil were fantastic, and the whole experience felt authentic and unhurried. 🍷🫒🇭🇷 Luka was a huge part of what made the day so enjoyable. We had plenty of laughs and great conversation, and by the end of the tour it felt more like spending the day with a local friend. Luka was the perfect guide from start to finish! He picked us up at our hotel and gave us a lovely tour of the island. We finished our tour with the most intimate and delicious wine tasting at a local family vineyard. We were literally tasting wine and olive oil in the basement of their house where the wine cellar was. Our wine tasting guide, Stipe was also incredible and made the experience fun and informative. Highly recommend!!

I found the tour very interesting! I really didn't know about the wine industry in Croatia and it was interesting to see how the grapes are harvested how old the vines are and actually go into their local winery. And of course Lavender is so beautiful and fragrant it was again interesting to hear on the different varieties.

Petar is a wonderful and friendly guide! He is from Hvar and his knowledge and pride shine through. The winery is so charming and there are 10 wines to taste. Well worth the cost of the tour and tasting. So glad I did this!

We took a tour of the surrounding areas and then stopped at a place to taste wine and olive oils. Luka the guide was great, and Steven at the wine tasting was hilarious.

Luka was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgable about Hvar and took us to some excellent viewpoints on the way to the wine tasting, explaining the history of the Island. The cellar wine tasting was the best we have experienced . We were able to taste a large variety of wines and olive oils made on the family vineyard. We even purchased some of their olive oil. We would definetly recommend.

We were picked up from our hotel in Stari grad, and had a scenic drive to the winery. Lovely wine tasting experience, and it was really interesting to learn about how they make the different wines. We then drove to the most beautiful spots across the island, Luka was extremely knowledgeable. It was so interesting to learn about the islands history, and we visited spots we would never have been able to otherwise. Luka was absolutely brilliant, and the tour was one of the highlights of our trip!!

We really enjoyed this tour! Our guide was fantastic! He was knowledgeable, engaging, and fun to listen to. The meeting point was about a 10-minute walk away, which was no problem at all. It was wonderful to see so much of Hvar Island and learn about its history, culture, and hidden gems along the way. One of the highlights was visiting the vineyard and tasting 12 different wines in the cellar. While the setting in the cellar was cool, we found the wines to be just okay, and the tasting included only a small amount of bread. A more substantial food pairing would have made the experience even better. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore Hvar beyond the main town.

We enjoyed our wine and olive oil tour. Pick up was easy with scenic views on the drive. The wine tasting was good along with the olive oils. You also have a chance at end of tour to purchase wine and oil to take home (we paid in cash unsure if they accepted card)

Luka is a very knowledgeable and passionage guide who has a real appreciation for the flora on the island. He regales you with stories and anecdotes that make the tour fun. Highly recommended -- even if you are not a wine drinker (I am not!)

Absolutely wonderful and special experience, our guide Luka, was phenomenal. He arrived early and texted us so we started our tour a bit early, which was nice. We stopped at Napoleon’s fortress and got a gorgeous view of the city of Hvar. He was very personable and explained the history and his culture. He then took us by lavender fields, which were incredible to view. We then went to the winery where we met Stjepan, who was so fun and personable as well. He let us try all of the wines on the list, two of which they typically don’t let people try. The olive oil’s were phenomenal, including a chili, rosemary, basil, and original. Overall, a very wonderful experience, we were at the winery for about two hours and went about 45 minutes over on our tour time. Everyone is so kind and open to share their lives and I feel so honored to get to experience it.

It was a fun tour and a great chance to see more of the island while staying in Hvar. The wine tasting was fun. We tried many different wines and they would give a second tasting of wines we enjoyed. If you want to buy a bottle to take with you they only accept cash however.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our Hvar island tour with Luka and wine tasting with Stipe. The van tour goes up to an old fort, passes through villages and old lavender fields, and includes beautiful viewpoints and really interesting history along the way. Luka was so knowledgeable and warm, and kindly fielded our group's many questions. Toward the end of the tour, we stopped at Dubokovic Winery for a delicious and unpretentious wine tasting with Stipe, who was quite entertaining! Luka and Stipe were both genuinely fun to spend the afternoon with, and the tour and tasting was a great way to experience more of Hvar--we would highly recommend this experience to anyone staying on the island!

A short trip around the island with wine and olive oil tasting. our trip was with Luka and he was absolutely fantastic, very knowledgeable about the island, nothing felt rushed. Tasting many wines in the wine cellar was a lovely experience, the owner gave good measures and always happy to let you have more!!!, this alongside the olive oils made for a wonderful trip…..highly recommend the sage and rosemary oils !

My wife and I booked this tour as part of our honeymoon festivities and we had an awesome time. It was a great way to see the island and learn a bit more about the history and culture of Hvar, and the wine and olive oils were equally as captivating. Luka was a great guide - the hospitality on the tour was top notch. We would highly recommend!

This is a lovely trip . You will have the opportunity to visit the quieter parts of the island as well as the wine cellars . Luca ( our guide) was knowledgeable and we really enjoyed spending time with him . We learnt a great deal about Hvar and its agriculture. We highly recommend this tour ! It was well organized and a very enjoyable 3 hour trip.

My partner and I were lucky enough to get a private tour with Luka, and it was truly a highlight of our honeymoon. I can’t write enough good things about Luka. He was extremely knowledgeable, personable, generous and just a pleasure to hang out with. Wish we could have hung with him all day! The island tour and wine tasting itself was awesome with great island info, sights, views, and history. The winery tasting in the cellar was super unique and our server was hilarious and generous himself. Cannot recommend this experience enough.

Petar was an excellent guide! He is very funny and knowledgeable about Hvar and Croatia in general. The wine tasting was a unique experience. Down in the cellar with candles. Stopped at a local honey stand on the way to the tasting and bought rosemary and lavender honey.

Luka was an amazing guide - attentive and with great communication. Drove us around the back side of the island and to Fort Napoleon, where we saw incredible views and learned about the history of the island. Stipe is an all time character from Dubokovic winery. Would book another tour with him any time.

Incredible and personal tour through Hvar with excellent wine and olive oil. You cannot miss this! Luka was the best tour guide. His knowledge of the island was so beneficial. We felt completely safe as he drove us through windy roads. Every aspect of the tour was one of the best we have experienced. It was an easy and smooth coordinated pickup. The drive with the sights was stunning. But the best was the wine tasting. My wife has celiacs disease and I had mentioned gluten free before hand and they had gluten free bread and her own olive oil. We got a great amount of wines, so delicious (bought 2 bottles for a great price). And Stepan (not sure if spelling right) was generous with extra tastes so we could know we were getting the right bottle. He was hilarious. Our tour group was 3 families/groups and he created an environment that made us all feel together. Luka then was there to take us home and was just a completely amazing person. This is the tour you need to go on if you want to see Hvar, taste wine, taste olive oil, and not have to think about it while someone drives you around! Thanks, Luka!

Such a lovely experience! We had 6 of us in the group (3 couples) and had a lovely time!!! Our guide Luca rearranged the schedule because of bad weather and it worked out perfectly! We started the experience driving to the wine cellar where Stipe looked after us. He was so fun and we had delicious local wines and plenty of top ups of our favourites. We then went in a van to a fort to experience amazing sunset views across Hvar and the Pakleni islands which was amazing. We learned a lot about Croatia and Hvar and had a lovely time. I would definitely recommend the experience!

Our tour was yesterday, which also happened to be our actual 30th wedding anniversary. I had booked this special tour with Hvar4you several months in advance as it would give us an opportunity to see some of the interior of Hvar and to taste some of the island’s Olive Oil and Wine. This tour far exceeded our expectations! Petar contacted me the day before to confirm the trip details including the pickup location which was very easy. We met Luka, our tour guide, and entered a very comfortable air conditioned van. Luka was very personable and knowledgeable. As he drove he shared about the history of the island, the people and culture, the lavender fields, the olive oil and the wine of the island. We also got to know a bit about Luka himself and his life pursuits that brought him to Hvar. We made several stops along the way to the winery for stunning photography of the area. The winery was excellent! We sat at a table amongst wooden wine barrels within a romantic candlelit cellar and tasted a number of olive oils and wines - and yes, we purchased several to bring home with us. I cannot recommend this tour enough for anyone looking for the opportunity to see and learn about the island of Hvar and it’s lavender, oil and wine. You will not be disappointed
