The trip from Hurghada is very long and can be tiring. By Egyptian regulations, all tourist vehicles must stop at a security checkpoint shortly after leaving Hurghada and wait for their assigned convoy. If your van is behind many buses, you may miss your convoy slot and have to wait for the next one, which adds to the travel time. Our guide, Mansour, was fantastic—very friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer every question. We really enjoyed learning from him. We had enough time at the Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum to explore and take photos without feeling rushed. Despite the long journey, the trip was definitely worth it.

The face of the Sphinx is widely believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre, linking it to the era of the great pyramid builders. As the largest monolithic statue in the world, it measures approximately 73.5 metres in length, 19.3 metres in width, and 20.22 metres in height. It was a beautiful experience and the tour guide was good at telling the significance of each statue at the old Egyptian Museum, the pyramid and the Tower of Cairo
Trip was great. Driver and travel guid was helpfull all the time. They tell alot information about egypt history and i see they learn alot about egyot history.
Advert says small group of 8 people max but there was 13 people on our bus and we joined with another group so there was close to 30 people in our group, Egyptolpgist guide was constantly on her phone taking phone calls and repetition the same information again and again, we only had 1 break to stretch our legs on the return journey and it was after 5 hours so we all had cramp. Minibus is very uncomfortable and packed. Guide rushed us from one area to the next not giving us the stated time at each location. Barely had time to take photos and didnt have time to go inside the pyramid because of this. Overall poor experience and would not recommend!
Collected at 1.20 returned by 11.30 so a very long day. Staff are friendly and helpful but on the way there we had so many breaks which are it take alot longer. There was only 2 groups so no idea how they can say it 16-18 hours when realistically took 22 hours. Museum very rushed, nile trip was really good, random stop at perfume oil place which we felt very intimidated to buy something and when we didn't there attitudes changed. Lunch wasn't very nice at all and plates were dirty. The pyramids are rushed and if you want good pictures you have to either get a carriage ride or camel ride which costs extra but you have no choice and I don't like supporting animal abuse. I felt really ill at the end think possibly sunstroke and there was no concern just interested in selling us things.
We had such a lovely day exploring the pyramids!! our tour guide was amazing from start to finish! Thank you so much ,we had a brilliant day. Absolutely great !!! great experience. perfect organization and communication on the part of the consultant. I absolutely did not expect anything like that. I highly recommend this trip.
Mansour the tour guide was brilliant all day, very helpful and knowledgeable. Being in a small group made the day more personal. Transport was easy and wasn’t stressful whilst in Cairo as all sorted for you. Would definitely recommend
A long day from Hurghada but definitely worth it. Our drivers were friendly and our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and made sure we were able to make the most of our time. The Pyramids were amazing 🤩
Trip to Cairo from Hurghada. Top service, super driver and an excellent Egyptologist Wahba. I booked another trip to Luxor with them. Thank you
All members of family had their favourite parts of the trip, whether it’s history museum, pyramids or boat ride on Nile, our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, same with the van drivers, thank you! Recommend the small group trip as don’t need to wait for others like with a big bus.
Just be prepared for a long journey back and forth which we were aware prior to booking. Met with the guy Hassan to pick us up from the hotel @1:30. Went with 4 young couples in the minivan. Our tour guide Mona and drivers Karim and Ahmed (hope that's his correct name lol) are all nice people. We have seen the pyramids and it was amazing! Make sure to bring Euros. Souvenirs are very cheap to buy in Cairo specially at the Sphinx. Thank you.
Honestly we had a great time! Experienced everything we wanted and optional add ons of camel at the pyramids and Nile boat cruise are 100% worth it. 50% off for students too! Definitely make sure u have enough cash! Our guide was lovely and honest, she was very informative too. The ride there was okay. Considering you are in a mini bus with strangers and trying to sleep in the heat is rough. But would do it all again. Full disclosure with timing we were scheduled to leave at 1.30am and left around 2am. Stopped three times during the night once for a half hour and got there at 8.30am.
There were some good bits but the overall experience was not what we booked Booked a small group up to 8 persons thinking we're going to get a better customer care and better experience but there where already 9 persons in the van when we got in. Then we found out that the only English that the drivers were speaking was with Google translate and they didn't help do the experience any better by taking extra unnecessary brakes The confort in the van was non existent and the air conditioning didn't work on the back benches that we were sitting making our 8 year old be sick all day long At the attractions the guide was late although we were late as well she messed up our tickets and did not wait for us so ended up seeing the museum by ourselves for half of the time until i managed to find the group and from then on everything was rushed quick visit to the museum quick rush to the river cruise which was forced on us but it's actually one of the good things about the trip then another sale trip to a perfume shop but also good experience and we got some nice perfumes but a sale visit nonetheless Lunch was OK and then another rushed experience to the pyramids and the sphinx with another sale ticked carriage ride to get decent photos because there wouldn't have been enough time to walk and take good pics and with that done another sale stop to a papyrus shop/museum After this was done we had the return trip home in the confort from hell which was made better by the drivers driving slowly to save fuel or something In the end is it worth it? Yes But I can't recommend this company 😕 to expensive for what was promised and not delivered
This was fantastic, yes it is an early start but it is worth it. Communications started the day before which was reassuring. We had a last minute change of hotel which was managed perfectly and without fuss. Our driver was lovely, encouraging us to sleep but we stopped for a break and then ensuring that we have change for the toilet etc. Our guide met us at Cairo and he was wonderful. So informative at the museum and allowed us time to take pictures etc. on arrival at the pyramids he ensure we were ok, encouraging us only to speak to him and he made sure we were no bothered by sellers. Our meal was lovely and we then travelled back to the hotel. Would highly recommend
Absolutely fantastic trip, great driver who greeted us nicely at the start and looked after us throughout the trip, always making sure we had plenty of drinks and breaks. Our guide was wonderful, very informative on the historic facts. He looked after us at the pyramids, warning sellers away and even recommended a place at the market for us to get some souvenirs. Yes this is an early start, 2:45am but it is 100% worth it and you get to sleep in the mini van , which was comfortable and air conditioned Restaurant was lovely and local which was good. Highly recommend this trip
We were pickup from the hotel at 1 AM and nobody informed us about the coming trip or to pickup some more guests in other hotels. We had to guess how many time and how many stops it would take. In Cairo we met with our guide (approx. 9.30 AM) who stayed with us whole day. He was the first who explained something about the programm of the day. We rushed through the Egyptian Museum and headed off to the Papyrus Museum. There we stayed almost as long as in the museum before going to lunch. After lunch we went to the pyramids. During the contact by whatsapp upfront we already indicated to buy the extra ticket to go into the Cheops pyramid. The guide tried to convice us several times to change our mind because it looked more convenient for the guide and driver to have a different plan. Even when standing at the entrance for buying the tickets we had to be careful that we got the correct tickets and not get the tickets for the 3rd (smaller pyramid). Luckily we persisted because the experience to go into the Cheops Pyramid was amazing. After that we had a small camel ride to get some pictures and after that we were rushed to the Spinx to make some photos. Then there was a surprise to go to a perfume factory, another tourist trap like the papyrus factory to get some money of tourists. IWe traveled back to the hotel after that and were back in the hotel at about 10.30 PM. f we had known before that we would spend more time in the tourist traps and lunch instead have some more time at the Pyramids and the Sfinx we would have looked for another travel agency.
Very nice experience, I totally recommend it. Very professional people . I recommend the private tour. You are more flexible and chilled.
The pyramids and the sphinx are amazing and worth seeing, but probably would have been better alone. Our tour guide "Cleopatra" (he didn't actually tell us his name when we asked) gave us a brief bit of information as we raced around the museum, stopping for a minute at a time to look at chosen exhibits at the speed of light. The earpiece I was given ran out of battery half way through the initial introductory PowerPoint (which was longer than the time spent looking at any of the exhibits) so I struggled to take in much information. After racing through the museum we stood in the sun for ten minutes waiting for the van. We then went for a brief motorboat ride down the Nile with the promise of relaxation and Egyptian music, which presented itself initially in the form of happy birthday multiple times, followed by Meghan Trainor & Disturbed's cover of the sound of silence??????? through a loud tinny speaker. The boat broke down right at the end and we had to be towed back to shore with no offer of money off, or an apology. Funny as it was, this speaks volumes of the quality & organisation of this tour. Our guide was rushing through every stop and arranging additional activities with very little explanation. We were not told a single piece of information while we were at the pyramids or the sphinx, which left us quite disappointed as one of the wonders of the ancient world was reduced to people taking photos kissing the sphinx. What is the sphinx??? We were not even told. I would like to stress that our drivers for the day were excellent. We were collected promptly at the pickup time after receiving a text the day before and all transfers were smooth and well conducted with an appropriate amount of rest stops on the long drive. Overall a disappointing tour of what should have been some of the most fascinating sites in the world, let down by poor organisation and a lack of information about one of the most interesting eras in history. We also spent around an hour in total in a perfume shop and a papyrus shop in the middle and end of the tour. Shopping for souvenirs is understandable in this type of tour, but not so appreciated when we have raced through the actual attractions that we have paid for Lunch was fine, average buffet in a restaurant with expensive drinks and pretty rude service
Absolutely loved the day trip, It was a long day but absolutely worth it, Small group of 8, A family of 5, Two ladies from Romania and myself, The drivers were fantastic with us all, Big shout out to Ahmed and Barak, Two absolute super Guys... Thank you for a super trip... I would highly recommend this Company for trips out 🥰👍🏻
This maybe a little long, but I feel other disabled travellers or older travellers with limited mobility need to know what can be done if you choose the right company for excursions! The office staff were quick to come back to me regarding whether I would be able to enjoy this trip, and everyone was both extremely helpful, informative and very kind. Nothing was too much trouble and even now I am exhausted and will need to rest for a couple of days I wouldn’t have missed this excursion for the world!! So to start I would say I can walk short distances and I use a mobility scooter which can be broken down. I can also get into a small minivan with the help of someone holding my arm( this the driver did , over and over again for me.( My tip here would be to bring a wee step, the ones you can buy in Dunelm which take up little room in your suitcase) our driver Emad( I’m sorry if this is incorrectly spelled) was a fantastic driver, I’m a nervous passenger and not once was I concerned., even if Cairo traffic is unbelievable, and not in a good way. A big bear of a man , but he looked after us as if we were his own family. The Egyptologist was exceptional ,, so knowledgeable and again very kind and accommodating to my limitations. He not only brought ancient Eygpt alive with his information of the past,he was very easy to understand, his English language was of a very high standard., but also where to take photographs to obtain the best vistas. My daughter and I felt totally safe and secure all day. We covered everything we set out to do and more. Please do not be put off by your limitations, check with this company and if they can help, they will. I should say they reply to messages very quickly too. The drive to Cairo is long, but the roads are good and I managed to sleep some of the way. We are looking forward to going to Luxor in a day or two. So please do yourself a favour, forget the large coaches , please book with this amazing company with total confidence and enjoy a trip of a lifetime!
Car journey is more than stated, especially driving there, when we got to the pyramid of giza felt very rushed and not enough time spent to see the pyramids up close. Guide was really good and friendly. Do take lots of money with you as the boat trip, and camel ride can come to 60 pounds for a family of 5 and if you buy souvenirs it's more.. 13 hours on road, there and back, and the mini van does not recline. Also, they said 8 people max, but there were 10 people, so less space to move around for a long journey.
The excursion was well organized, and everything went smoothly. Wahba, our guide, was knowledgeable and provided a wealth of fascinating information about the history and construction of the pyramids. He answered questions thoroughly and in a friendly manner. Overall, it was a great experience that offered intriguing insights into ancient history. I highly recommend it!
Omar & Ahmed the drivers were brilliant, very experienced and kept things as smooth as possible. They did communicate as much as possible if you interacted with them. Cairo traffic is crazy, worse than India and they navigated so well so we weren't delayed. A 1.30am start - take jumper/scarf etc and breakfast box with you. They don't leave the mini bus so so can leave stuff on there. Take toilet roll - select your service stops some are free others not, 50 Egyptian to use. You go through 5 police check points where you are put in a queue before carrying on your journey, one of these held us for 40mins so it is a 7hr journey in and less on the way back. Not the companies fault. I travelled with 3 Italians and 4 Danish, we bonded as the day progressed once we had all had a little sleep. Cairo museum is fantastic, not enough time there but more time through this company then some. The only thing i would say is our tour guide (who has to keep us moving to fit everything is) kept saying you can come back for photos - get them there and then! otherwise your free time you are running around trying to find the right room etc. She's moving as soon as she finishes talking and always asks you to come closer and listen but if i didn't take the pics as i did whilst listening to her i would of never of had what i wanted. She was also very disappointed with a few of us that chose not to do the Nile trip - it's optional. I knew i was already doing the Nile at Luxor 2 days later (Same company) so that was the one i wanted to do. I would say some of her knowledge was limited to Nana on the Luxor trip who filled in the gaps on questions i had. Sultans Palace Perfumes was good, some lovely smells, nice tea. I did actually want the pure perfumes to bring home so I bought 2x 100ml and 1x 50ml. I paid £70 (negotiated from what started as £40 each for the 100ml and £30 for the 50ml) i was happy and they got their sale, worth every penny i paid and they wrap well for travel, just ask for paper to write the scent labels if buying a few. Lunch at the restaurant was great. Pyramids were great, everything you imagine, don't waste time going into the great pyramid, dark cold nothing to see i was told, spend the time in the sun enjoying the surroundings. If you look down to see the Sphinx below look to your right further into the rock/dirt and you will see more where the workers area was - i didn't have time to venture into this and was gutted as the locals say it's brilliant. We lost the Danish at the start of the pyramids so we lost a lot of time standing around - this meant we suffered again at the Sphinx - only 15 mins to explore and pics - i ran around everywhere but actually was quite annoyed at this as it was more important than the pyramids for me. So overall fabulous long day, advice is ensure your group keep up otherwise you all suffer with less free time to wonder and less time at the Sphinx. If you have any back problems or Oedema with legs you will need to have cushion of something as some parts of the roads are rough and you are sat for a 7hr journey so every opportunity to move around, do it. If you have a couple of weeks Hurghada than maybe split it up or fly - 50min flight i believe. I was only there for 6nights and had much to pack in. I did keep some of my breakfast box for teatime on the journey home as its late when you get back.
Went with my two kids 7 and 10 years old. We all had a great time. We visited the national egypt museum in Cairo, a perfume factory, a papyrus factory (short stops) and then of course the pyramids and the sphinx. The guide was friendly and had a lot of knowledge. Both he and the drivers where good with kids. The pros with a small group is that we didn't have to stand in line and wait at the stops, we could easily stop for a toilet break if some one needed or even to buy crisps.
Long and exhausting journey from Hurghada, but totally worth it once you get to Cairo! Our tourguide Mansour joined us at the Egyptian museum and was brilliant all the way through. He’s an archaeologist, very knowledgeable and super professional. God bless him!!! Small group of 5 people, so it felt kinda like VIP for our group and Mansour helped us beat all the long queues. We went in early January (winter time in Egypt) and we were very cold during the overnight drive, please bring a warm jacket/ fleece blanket or small pillow to keep yourself comfortable in the minivan. Also remember to bring enough snacks + cash for tips, souvenirs, drinks during lunch, additional activities (Nile tour, camel or carriage ride at the Pyramids, burial chamber etc) and toilet breaks. We were picked up at 01:30AM from our hotel with no introduction to the tour whatsoever from the drivers (so it felt kinda sketchy and awkward at first because nobody was explaining anything to us- we had to wait until the tourguide joined us in Cairo). Keep in mind: There are multiple checks and toll booths along the way, this definitely slows down the journey to Cairo. On the way back to Hurghada, it luckily went faster!!! Once in a lifetime experience to see the Egyptian museum and the Pyramids, so you won’t regret it! Thank you ETO travels!
We booked a private day trip to Cairo with ETO through. First, I must commend ETO's booking service - they were incredibly understanding when we had to reschedule twice (once for medical reasons, once for passport issues). This flexibility was greatly appreciated. Our driver, Mr Mahmoud, was exceptional. He picked us up at 1:30am in a spacious, air-conditioned 7-seater, giving us plenty of room to sleep during the journey. He provided free water and soft drinks, offered small change for toilet breaks, and was happy to stop whenever needed. We could even play our own music! As someone anxious about the long journey, his calm, professional manner was very reassuring. Only needed photos of passports, not originals. In Cairo, our English-speaking guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The Egyptian Museum tour (1.5 hours) covered the most interesting exhibits. We declined the optional Nile boat ride with no pressure. The included buffet lunch was good (drinks extra). We did make an unexpected stop at a perfume shop - typical for Egyptian tours - but there was no pressure to buy. At the pyramids (2 hours for pyramids and Sphinx), we took the official camel ride (600 EGP per person - more expensive but safer than street vendors). While our guide preferred to wait in the car during the pyramid visit, we managed the local vendors fine (tip: avoid eye contact and politely decline). The guide was happy to skip the papyrus museum at our request. The real star was our return journey - Mr Mahmoud got us back by 8:30pm in time for dinner, which was impressive given the distance. Tips: - Private car access was easier than tour buses - All entrance fees included - Bring snacks for the journey - Consider this tour as a good compromise between group bus tours and flying - Remember to tip well for good service - Stay polite but firm with vendors at pyramids A long day but worth it for the private experience. Special thanks to Mr Mahmoud for making the journey so comfortable!
Small group trip to pyramids and sphinx. Was very nice experience with our great guide Ahmed farouk. Lovely guide, we felt very safe. And very knowlegable and helpful. Super Day! We will do it again one Day!
Very honestly... it was beautiful and downright ridiculous what happened at the same time. Our day. Son (20) already had a stomach. I tried to reschedule. Couldn't. He tried to. But on first stop. Did he tell Mom I shouldn't do this. I want to go back to hotel have too much stomachache. Time at that time was 2 a.m. I want to give 5 stars for this, because we were immediately helped and taxi arranged for him etc. He was safe in hotel 1 hour later. So that was really great. And by.. arriving in cairo the guide got in and started telling. We (my daughters and I) should go to old Egyptian museum and other family went to new. (I saw that this was possible but could not choose new ones anywhere At home for books carefully looked at) Guide said we were kicked out. They went to new ones and then we were picked up somewhere. But yes that there was actually nothing left in old because was all set to new but was our problem. Fully realizing that it was manipulation, we decided to pay an extra 25 euros pp and also go to new ones. So 75 euro foetsie. Arriving in new museum we were walked around for 1 hour and told everything and we got 1 hour free time. This was way too little. We also had to eat, drink, pee in it etc. So 75 euros paid for 2 hours. Pretty ridiculous. Then the story of the boat trip. We were group of 7 and boat trip could only if everyone would come along. I say pardon that was optional for everyone to decide for themselves. Other family wouldn't. My eldest daughter seasick so neither did she and that left youngest daughter and me. So couldn't. I say hello, don't you offer? Yes okay then it could if I paid 30 euros pp instead of 10. And then after everything that had already happened, I got very angry for a moment. 25 pp museum plus 30 for boat and knowing I had already paid almost 300. From which I get nothing from son was really the last straw. Have shown her on app sat it was just 10 euros pp. But she persisted. Told you then. You make your problem my problem now and we're not going to do it. I want that boat trip and I pay 10 euros pp. Take care of it. Eventually that is settled Pyramids were fine again. She took us to vantage point. And so actually obliged whether carriage or camel. Both 15 euros pp. Because if you didn't, you wouldn't get there. Oh well, we'll do another 45 euros. So conclusion... if never again... What we saw and did was beautiful and was really worth some money. Although the time was sometimes very short and was almost behind everything for our feeling. Compulsory 140 euros on top of the already expensive excursion is not funny.
We did not see a papyrus factory, as stated in the booking. They also practically tried to push the Nile cruise on us, even though it was not booked, which meant we had to wait about 45 minutes pointlessly. We were taken to shops twice that were also not on the program in order to push some things on us.
Unfortunately, it was a German coffee trip, we were taken to a spice shop, perfume store, etc., to buy overpriced goods here! Also, camel and carriage rides were sold at a high price! Actually not recommended, you rush from one point to the next, at the restaurant for lunch there was below-average food, plus the stress of having to move on. 3 points for the tour are only given because of the diligent drivers who drove us for 12 hours through Egypt! Of course, the highlight was the pyramids, it was worth it for that, the guide was a chatterbox.
We had a beautiful day in Cairo. Around 1 am we were picked up from our hotel. In a small minivan we went to Cairo with 8 people. After some waiting at the checkpoints, we arrived around 8.30. We then made a small cruise on the Nile. Then went to the Grand Egyptic Museum. What a beautiful building and what a beautiful collection. After about 2 hours of being shown around there we went for lunch. Or no, not at all, first stop by a spice shop (before the sale). Then we went to lunch. After lunch to the pyramids and the sphinx. This was also beautiful, despite the many street vendors. At the end of the day we stop by a perfume shop (for sale). And after a long day the drive back to the hotel. Here we arrived around 0.00 am. All in all a very long day, but definitely worth it. A tip for the organization. Our guide (I thought his name was Hamar) was quite pushy, rushed and talked a lot. In addition, he constantly wanted to speak and left little room. He also explained everything in three languages (English, German, Arabic), while we had asked for English. There were people in the group who only understood German or Arabic. This made the already long day quite exhausting.
The tour itself was nice, we saw everything the program includes. Unfortunately, our drivers were not the friendliest and no communication took place during the journey. The drivers were visibly dissatisfied with the tip they received from the tour group, prompting one of the drivers to not even say goodbye when he left the car. Our tour guide in Cairo was professionally very good, but unfortunately we felt like we were in a marathon. Especially in the museum we were really rushed, so the older participants of our "tour group" had problems with getting behind. Unfortunately, no account was taken of that, which was a shame. Despite everything, we had a great tour group and a nice, if very busy day.
It was breathtaking, The drive from Hurghada was long but worth it. The guide (Mansur) was very accommodating and explained everything well that you understand how it worked in ancient Egypt at that time. It was really TOP
The trip to the Giza pyramids was an unforgettable experience for me and my family. We took a minibus from hurghada to Cairo, which was very pleasant – enough space, clean and a relaxed ride, especially with the family. The very arrival at the pyramids was overwhelming. No matter how many times you have seen them in pictures, in real life they are simply impressive. This greatness, this story – you really feel that you are standing in a very special place. For us as a family it was a very nice moment to be there together and to collect memories. The excursion was well organized, everything went smoothly and without stress. We had enough time to take photos, look around and enjoy the atmosphere. Also for children the excursion is well suited, as everything was clear and well planned. Overall, it was a very successful day that we will all remember well. I can recommend this trip to anyone visiting Cairo – especially if you want to experience it with family. The pyramids must be seen just once in your life.
A modern minivan with two friendly drivers. Our guide Mansur was very helpful with all questions and photos. The shop visits were without constraint. It is a strenuous 22h tour that you have to do at least once.
It was okay, thank you! The road was long and difficult, but it was worth it, visited all the historical sites, looked at the pyramids, the sphinx, visited the museum and took a boat ride! But it takes a lot of strength and stamina to get through it, the tour is not for wimps!
It was a must but I was not motivated by the 7 h drive to go and 7 back. So already in minibus it’s more like 6h max and we’re pretty settled. The pyramids , a wonder but the rest really.... The non-stop running even to the pyramids where time is running out, the guide advised us the camel ride supposedly to have an unforgettable view of the pyramids. My daughter went there , 10 euros , camels are abused and in the end the guy would not let her go if she did not give money . Then the sphinx , just enough time to take pictures The visit to the papyrus factory is rather a store where prices are very high . Then the perfume, the same thing. The meal is a very mediocre buffet as everywhere in Egypt. Finally departure for the felucca ride on the Nile but if you don’t want to do it you have to wait 20 minutes in the minivan before going to the museum and have only 1/4 hour for the whole museum with a guide certainly friendly but who gave us no explanation and left us hanging around the museum with as appointment in 10 minutes. But I don’t just regret the pyramids
The guide and the driver did their job very well. You are taken here and there to places that are interesting, but where you are urged something to buy, if you say no but everything is good Organization was top and informative it was also definitely
Everything as described. Our group even consisted of only 6 people, which shortened the time for picking up/taking us to/from the hotels and thus the journey. Very good communication in advance with organizers via WhatsApp. There are only no 5 stars, as the stops to rest the drivers took relatively long. Extra praise to the German-speaking guide Mansur, who did the job with love and passion and knew an answer to every question
When you travel to Egypt for the first time, like us, you cannot skip the pyramids. However, the trip there is trendy (as described by others) and in my opinion only reasonable for children from about 14 years. The whole day is kind of a rush: be it in the Egyptian Museum with felt 2tsd other visitors or on the way to the pyramids. Road traffic is definitely an experience - papyrus, oil sales and also lunch (hotel buffet with overpriced beverage prices (Cola 3 EUR) you could certainly save. The pyramids (please no animal-torturing carriage rides or camel rides) are then of course imposing. Note: visiting the Cheops pyramid is REALLY (!) strenuous (45 degrees cramped ascent at 80% humidity). Conclusion: We have seen the pyramids - again the tour but definitely not
Très belle journée avec de belles découvertes , des chauffeurs sympas et une guide très compétente et agréable
The trip itself was great and worth it. We couldn't have gotten any easier from Hurghada to the pyramids, even if the ride was naturally long and adventurous (pickup 01 am, return around 11 pm). We saw the pyramids, the Sphinx, the (old) Egyptian Museum. That alone was worth the ride. Plus the optional Nile tour (10 EUR) and two obligatory sales events (oils and papyrus) where we had not bought anything. We had chosen the ride with the minibus. Next time we'd better take the bigger bus. In the row behind us sat a family with two small children, one of whom had to spit the whole journey and the stomach contents once poured over my child's shirt. Not very nice, especially since the child continued to be stuffed with sweets and the parents said from the beginning that the child would become sick while driving. The organizer can't help it, but our enjoyment of the ride was greatly tarnished. The tour was designed for a maximum of 8 people. But we were 11 people plus 2 drivers.
Very well but small reproach the guide speeds us in the museum , to take the extra tickets to see the inside of the pyramid , and we stayed only 5 minutes in front of the SPHYNX all to make perfumes ... whereas we normally have to enter the SPHYNX ... people don’t care about papyri and perfumes . Otherwise frankly it was good!
If your guide in Egypt says goodbye without asking for tips, you know what the experience was like. Language chaos between English and German, poor content, mass handling. Too bad!
Communication in advance with the agency was very reliable. It was properly coordinated. Pick up at the hotel was no problem. The drivers were cheerful. Communication with them was rather difficult as there was little to no foreign language knowledge. Both drivers were (also at the wheel) conspicuously often and for a long time on their phones. There was extensive phone calls and scrolling. That's very dangerous. Everyone probably knows. The stops at a perfume shop and the papyrus shop were absolutely unnecessary. Felt like unwanted advertising. You're supposed to spend even more money wherever you can. Perfume or papyrus I also find in Hurghada. It doesn't take me seven hours to get to Cairo by van. The biggest problem for me (and the other participants) was the fact that there was not a proper toilet in a single station. Partly no toilet seat, no toilet paper. Some of the staff are in the toilet. At the museum, I asked him why there was no toilet paper. He looked at me badly, then unwrapped a roll and started to unwind 3-4 pieces. I waved right off and left. Where else was it very similar. Hence my tip to the agency - install a proper toilet in your program and communicate this transparently. You'll be thanked. At the lunch buffet, hardly anyone ate anything. Makes sense, too. If I can't go to the bathroom properly until I get back to the hotel, I don't need to eat. Lunch break is best in a modern mall or something. I am not a fan of malls, but experience has shown that you can freshen up properly, which is essential on such a trip. We are human beings.
Overall a strenuous but good tour. The guidebooks were very good and had a lot of information ready. The 15min camel ride at the pyramids was not so worthwhile from our point of view. The half hour that then remained at the pyramids and the sphinx was no longer enough. As with all tours, you will be taken to a perfume shop and a shop with pictures (so-called Papyrus Institute). I guess you can't get around it. All in all, however, a worthwhile tour.
Overall a good experience. We sat 10 in the minibus, although there should be a maximum of 8. It made the trip to Cairo something unpleasant. You are forced to drive in a railroad and the trip takes 7.5 hours. But when you’re there it’s a really good day, with lots of experiences. Food stop is fine and that's the little other elements as well. We chose to go into the little pyramid - it was affordable and great to have tried. The trip home only took 5 hours. Can really be recommended but consider getting ETO to guarantee that there are max 8 in the car.
