We had a great time with Mohamed with Luxor Tours. Amazing sites and history. It's a long drive from Hurghada but we're glad we did it.
Excellent day out from hurgarda to see all what Luxor has to offer. Our guide Professor Ahmed Elsisi was excellent, really friendly and happy to answer any questions we had with lots of great information before stepping in to any tombs or temples. He and our driver, Mr Kroloss really looked after us for the day and felt completely safe and relaxed the whole trip. Highly recommend.
My wife and I booked this trip after arriving in Makadi Bay, I was prepared to pay more than three times as much to book the TUI excursion, I thought it would be a safer bet. I'm so glad I trusted my wife's instincts and booked this day trip instead. We were collected from our hotel at 0430am by a pleasant and polite young man in a new and comfortable car, it's a long drive but it was made really pleasant so thank you Karim, you restored our faith in Egyptian driving! On arrival to Luxor we picked up our guide Abdul. I'm not exaggerating when I say that Abdul was the highlight of our holiday. I have never before had the privilege of meeting someone with such in-depth knowledge, genuine passion and enthusiasm for Egyptian history or any other subject for that matter! Abdul had the ability to bring each of the locations to life, the locations themselves are incredible but when listening to Abdul describe the tiny details and the stories of the people involved, from builders to kings and queens, added a completely new dimension to my understanding Egypt. My wife was even allowed to drive a boat (which we had to ourselves) on the Nile, unbelievable! Ironically we sailed past the TUI day-trip boat which resembled a floating prison. It's no exaggeration to say that both Karim and Abdul made this a perfect day for us, We were treated friends and we will never forget the brilliant experience, thank you! I recommend this day trip to anyone, if your lucky enough to spend the day with Abdul, make the most of it! *please bear in mind that the temperatures at the can be brutal!
My wife and I were extremely disappointed with our trip to Luxor. The entire experience was very poor and far below our expectations. The vehicle was in terrible condition, and we had to wait at the temple just to get our entrance tickets because the company had not paid the required fees in advance. This caused unnecessary waiting, frustration, and wasted our valuable time. We expected a well-organized trip with reliable transportation and all arrangements properly taken care of. Unfortunately, this was not the case. My wife and I finished the trip feeling extremely disappointed. I would not recommend this experience to anyone. The service was unacceptable, and the company needs to improve its organization, transportation, and handling of entrance tickets.
Tour guide was great and very informative. Driver was also excellent. Day went very smoothly, seen lots of cool stuff. Thankyou Ahmed and Karreen.
Amazing trip! Our guide Osama Mohamed, our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We saw so many different places and had a lovely air conditioned vehicle for every destination. Our driver Mohammed was very punctual and drove very safely. We also stopped off at a fabric stone making shop and picked up a good gift. I would definitely book again!
We had a great time on our day trip from Hurghada to Luxor. Karnak, the Valley of the Kings and a good local lunch, all in private air conditioned transport with hotel pickup and a fabulous Egyptologist. Osama Mohawes was outstanding, a genuine Egyptologist who brought the tombs to life, answered every question, and sorted tickets so we walked straight in past the crowds and vendors. We would definitely recommend this trip!
Wow, What a great experience! From the drive to the sites, very professional. Ahmed Elsisi was our Egyptologist and made us feel engaged throughout the whole experience. We enjoyed all the sights and the felluca ride was very nice.
We both had a fantastic private trip to Luxor and enjoyed the whole experience. Our driver picked us up safely from our hotel in Hurghada and took us to Luxor. This was especially appreciated considering it was such a long journey and an early start. Our guide and Egyptologist Ahmed Elsisi was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. He also made sure we engaged about Egyptian history and the places we visited on our trip. He was also friendly, informative and happy to answer any other questions we had. Our trip also included a meal at a local restaurant with authentic Egyptian food which was very tasty. Finally we took a short boat journey down the River Nile which was a great way to end the day and relax on the boat. Shout out to Omar Sharrif, whose boat we went on, he was very friendly and let us have a go at driving the boat. Overall, a really enjoyable and well-organised trip. We would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Luxor and its amazing history.
**Unforgettable ride from Hurghada to Luxor – Ahmed is the real Transporter!** We had the pleasure of travelling with Ahmed from Hurghada to Luxor and Valley of Kings and back, and the whole experience was excellent from beginning to end. Ahmed is not only a very good and safe driver, but also a kind, respectful and honest person. During the journey, we felt completely comfortable, well taken care of, and truly listened to. He was always attentive, calm and professional. What made the experience even more special was that, by the end of the trip, Ahmed felt more like a friend than just our driver. He even invited us to his family home, where we had the chance to meet his family and children. This was not planned at all, but it became one of the most beautiful and heartfelt moments of our journey, a real local experience, full of warmth and kindness. Instead of just spending time in a hotel or sleeping in the car, we were welcomed into real Egyptian family life. That is something we will never forget. Thank you, Ahmed, for your wonderful service, your honesty and your big heart. When we come back to Egypt, we will definitely contact you again without hesitation. Ahmed — the real Transporter! :)
An excellent day out. We were collected from our hotel at 4:30am by our lovely driver, Ahmed. A 4hr journey through the desert seemed to pass quickly in the air conditioned comfort of Ahmeds car. He drove excellently through the chaos of Egypts roads. Sometimes you overtake on the left, sometimes on the right and sometimes by barreling through the middle. Its completely baffling and I am glad I wasn't driving! We collected Professor Ahmed on the West Bank of Luxor and proceeded to the valley of the kings. Professor Ahmed was so informative and amusing and we both learned a lot, even though we are both familiar with this part of history. Prof Ahmed explained about each tomb we visited in detail. We paid extra to visit King Tut and Ramses and it was worth it. Once we had spent our time in the valley we were taken to an Alabaster workshop where manager Ahmed explained the traditional processes still used after all these years. We then visited the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut. This was a bucket list for me and it was the highlight of my day. We then made a brief stop at the colossi of Memnon and then it was off for lunch. It seemed to be a traditional Egyptian cafe and the food was good. The boat ride along the nile was cool and the owner did let me pilot it for a while which was great. It was not a traditional Feluca but it was a great experience nonetheless. The last stop was at Karnac temple and this was also fantastic. Having seen so many documentaries and then actually walking round, seeing it with your own eyes is priceless. Again, Professor Ahmed explained all to us before we entered. Be careful of the walk back through the market place as you exit Karnac as the shopkeepers here were particularly aggressive in their hounding for trade. We grabbed a quick drink and were ripped off for 10€ for 2 cans of iced tea but they need the money more than I do I guess. We then headed back to drop off Professor Ahmed and were then safely driven back to our Hotel. We arrived back in Hurghada at around 6pm. A long day but worth every penny and every minute. Thank you again to both Professor Ahmed and driver Ahmed.
Went to Luxor for our one-day day trip experience from Marsa Alam and it was really great. The driver was punctual and our guide, Maddalena, was the best, really gentle, prepared and she gave us lots of really good advices. We loved the adventure, the tombs, the temple and how she explained to us the history behind it. I really recommend this tous (it is a bit far from Marsa Alam, but totally worth it).
A lovely day, educational and a wonderful experience! Professor Ahmed Elsisi, a true expert on ancient Egypt, kept us captivated as he entertainingly guided us (in very good English) through all the ancient sites we visited. Meanwhile, Ahmed the driver waited for us in the air-conditioned car to take us to the next attraction, simply excellent! Every aspect, the sights, the drives, the lunch, and the Nile cruise, was very well organized. All over a great day in ancient Egypt, thnx Ahmed and Ahmed!
We are family with a little boy of 4. Being flexible and comfortable in Egyptian heat was one of our priorities. Our guide Samira did a great job making sure to explain us the history of the sites we were visiting, with a lot of passion. (I was worried it would be boring to our kid but it was the opposite). She was also very flexible with the schedule adjusting it to ours and our kid's needs. Would recommend this tour anytime!
Sherry was friendly and entertaining. She was knowledgeable and clear. The car was spacious and drivers drove safely. We had a great time.
Wow! Where do we start?! After thinking (and talking!!) a lot about which trip would meet our requirements, we settled on the Small Group Private tour. From the moment of booking, even pre trip, communication with the travel company was spot on, with specific details and times of pick up. Carlos, our driver, was spot on, collecting us on time and taking us to the meeting point with other groups of tourists, all with high levels of excitement of the day ahead. Moving West as the sun rose, towards Luxor, we were treated to an amazing sunrise with spectacular colours bouncing off the desert mountains 🏔️ . We got to Luxor bang on time and were greated by the wonderful Mark, who’s first words to us were to welcome us to his family. We were more than VIPs, more than his guests and it came across that way! He explained the programme which he had created for our day which had obviously taken a lot of thought, time and consideration. Starting at the Karnak Temple, he shared his vast knowledge, experiences, opinions, sense of humour as he guided us through. There were plenty of opportunities for photos and also advice on how to manage the ‘sales men’ on the way out. Following the temple visit we headed for The Nile, in blistering heat but with a refreshing ice cream in hand, provided by Mark. We had the option of detouring for a brief visit up to Banana Island, at a small additional cost, and we are so glad we did! It was filled with local experiences, with the group welcoming us into their home, treating us to a demonstration of their skills and an opportunity (not forced) to purchase some local produce! After this, we headed back downstream to our lunch stop. Again, with so much thought and planning, we were treated to local cuisine, tastes, spices and dishes. En route to the Valleys, we stopped in a local store for a demonstration on local skills and papyrus making! This was such a unique opportunity for us and to be able to purchase our own unique gift was such a privilege and reflection on our visit to Luxor and the Nile. With spirits higher that the temperature (a cool 41 degrees) we headed to the Valley of the Kings. Again, using his experience and knowledge, Mark was able to navigate his way and lead us through the crowds who had headed in the opposite direction. We went to three tombs and also took the option to pay to see the legendary tomb of King Tutankhamen - certainly brought some tears to the eye and what an awesome experience. We headed back to Carlos, who was once again on hand, with air conditioning very welcome indeed, and to our second visit of local skills, using the land’s resources to make statues, ornaments and plaques. We were really pleased that there was no pressure on us to buy anything, a welcome change from previous trips, and again, we were able to purchase our own unique piece of art. Our trip ended appropriately at The Valley of The Queens and we took every opportunity to use Mark’s knowledge and guidance to visit every area of the mountainside! Such a wonderful day, and we are so grateful to Mark for his time, sharing his passion and deep knowledge with us, welcoming us into his Luxor and making it ours for the day! Also grateful to Carlos who filled the four hour journey to and from Luxor with calmness and precision driving, even timing the journey home spot on so we were able to experience the sunset over the mountains we had seen 12 hours earlier! A perfect photo to end a perfect day! Diolch Mark and Carlos - if anyone has an opportunity to ask for a guide and driver, we would definitely recommend these two amazing members of our now ‘extended family!’ - five stars
We had a very pleasant private trip to Luxor and really enjoyed the whole experience. Our driver took us safely to Luxor and back to Hurghada, which was especially appreciated considering the long journey. Our guide, Ahmed, was very knowledgeable and made sure we learned a lot about Egyptian history and the places we visited. He was friendly, informative and happy to answer our questions. The meal included in the trip was good, and the short boat trip on the River Nile was the icing on the cake — especially in the heat of the day! It was a lovely way to cool down and enjoy the scenery. Overall, a very enjoyable and well-organised trip. We would definitely recommend it.
What's can I say.... well it was the perfect day. My son who is 12 and myself were treated like VIPs all day long. Never felt so special. Our driver Yusuf arrived on time and he went above and beyond getting us breakfast and drinks and an ice cream each twice during the day. I felt safe on our journey from Hurghada to Luxor and back again and he was amazing with my son and treated him like a friend all day. He opened my door for me at every stop like a gentleman. Now our guide Professor Mark. He now had a forever place in both mine and my sons hearts. His knowledge and the way he treated us like family was truly beautiful. He made sure that the tour was best suited to my sons needs and if tou get the chance and have children with you go to banana island and meet the people and animals that live there so so special. If you meet Mark you will know what I mean about the knowledge he has and the way nothing is too much even allowing me to use his WiFi hot spot to contact my husband. I now feel I have a friend for life. I wish him and his family health wealth and happiness. Book this trip you shall not regret it.
We had an absolutely fantastic day on our Luxor tour yesterday. The itinerary was well organised and offered a great mix of history, culture and relaxation. Visiting the Valley of the Kings was an unforgettable experience, and the river cruise along the Nile was a lovely way to take in the scenery. Banana Island was a fun and relaxing stop, and the visit to the basalt factory was really interesting and gave us a chance to see local craftsmanship. Our guide, Samira, made the whole experience even better. She was incredibly kind, friendly and welcoming throughout the day. Her knowledge of Egyptian history was outstanding, and she explained everything in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. She was always happy to answer questions, looked after everyone in the group and made sure we had an enjoyable experience from start to finish. A big thank you as well to our driver, who got us safely to each destination and made the long journey comfortable. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hurghada or Luxor. It was excellent value for money, packed with amazing experiences, and made even more special thanks to Samira’s passion and expertise. Five stars!
Professor Ahmad Elsisi was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and easy to understand throughout the entire tour. His passion for Egyptian history and his engaging explanations made every site come alive. A special thank you as well to our driver, Bob, who was professional, friendly, and made the journey between sites safe, comfortable, and stress-free. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Egypt.
Everything was excellent from start to finish. The trip to Luxor was well organised, professional, and thoroughly enjoyable. A special thank you to Professor Ahmed Elsisi, our guide, whose knowledge, professionalism, and friendly approach made the experience truly memorable. The entire team was helpful, welcoming, and well organised. Highly recommended!
We had an excellent day today with our tour guide Professor Ahmed Elsisi .We went to the valley of the kings ,Temple of Hatshepsut and colossi of Memnon .He was very informative and went into alot of detail on our tours .He was friendly and answered any questions we asked.I would definitely recommend this tour especially with Professor Ahmed Elsisi.
Absolutely recommend this trip. Professor Ahmed Elsisi our guide was so involving and knowledgeable on all the areas we visited , and welcomed the interaction from us too. He is well love by all the locals at the sites , who all say he's the best guide / historian. We had a private pick up , my wife and i , and had the professor to our selves . Shout out to Mohamed our driver for the day too !
Best birthday ever! Can’t fault the trip, Prof. Ahmed Elsisi was incredibly knowledgeable and well respected by other guides. He explained everything to us, giving us time to explore the tombs, including the extra one for Tutankhamen. They are so well preserved and the history is incredible. We also visited two temples, one for Ramses III and Hatshepsut who was the only female Pharaoh. Here you could learn more about their lives. As it was my birthday Ahmed arranged for me to have a personalised obelisk as well as a beautiful chocolate, cream and fruit birthday cake on the Nile boat trip. Shout out to the driver who was polite, helpful and ensured our journey was comfortable. What a fabulous way to spend my birthday! Thank you Ahmed for making it so special!
Professor Ahmed Elsisi was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and made the tour both enjoyable and informative. Highly recommended!
We were looked after throughout the day by Osama Mohawes, who guided us excellently. All our questions were answered perfectly. We enjoyed the experience very much and can highly recommend this excursion to everyone. Unfortunately, the vehicle was anything but luxurious. Although there were only four of us in the car, it was nothing special; I would have expected something better in this regard.
We had Professor Ahmed Elsisi as our guide and he was a fun and charismatic guide. He was particularly good with the children and explained the history through many stories to make it come alive for them.
Had an amazing day with professor Ahmed Elsisi. Our balloon ride was cancelled because of the wind but was actually a god send as we visited more tombs. He is very knowledgable but also very funny so we all had a brilliant time. Thank you very much our new friend Ahmed.
Excellent tour. The drivers and pick up were punctual friendly and comfortable. The itinerary was great and the Egyptian guide Professor Ahmed Elsisi was knowledgeable friendly great to have escorted us around Luxor and the ancient sites.
This is the way to experience these amazing treasures of Egypt! Although an early start, we were driven in comfort to Luxor in a car that was our personal vehicle for the day. When there we collected our tour guide for the day, and were very lucky to have Prof. Ahmed Elsisi to show us around. What Ahmed does not know about these sights and the history of Ancient Egypt, I cannot imagine is worth knowing. We learned lots from him, and had plenty of free time on our own to explore the sites we visited. If you want to visit these sites, and learn more about them, this is by far the best way to do it. And hope Ahmed is guiding you around
Very convenient private tour as we dont want waiting for other people. We were picked up on time, we went at our own pace and was dropped off at the right time when our legs couldnt carry us anymore. The 2 Mohammeds who drove and guided us were very friendly and professional. They catered to our every request during the day.
We had a wonderful time at our private excursion! We were picked up at 4:30am and we were glad we could sleep as our driver Mohamed Nassear completed the 4hr ride! He was patient and said Good Morning every few stops. Our guide was Professor Ahmed Elsisi and he was so captivating when explaining Egyptian History and going into depth and detail about every location we saw. Professor is well known around Luxor. Be prepared to hear all the praises he receives for being so great. We joked he should be the mayor of Luxor! Overall, this experience was one of a kind and we had the best time! Be prepared to be exhausted but that doesn’t matter when your witnessing it all!!
The whole trip was amazing. The itinerary was great, but we were also able to pick different spots, or add. Professor Ahmed Elissi was so knowledgeable and wonderful. Mohammed, our driver, was right on time and very nice. Definitely would go again.
We had a great time with this private tour! We enjoyed the fact that it was only us in the vehicle as it gave us time to sleep comfortably as our driver Mohamed Nassear drove us for 4 hours starting at 4:30am! He was so patient with us and said Good Morning as we woke up every few stops! We had a wonderful tour guide Professor Ahmed Elsisi - Egyptologist. He was well known in every location, we joked he is the mayor of Luxor. Professor captivated our attention with stories and made learning about everything so easy and engaging.
Luxor is more than a destination—it’s an unforgettable journey through time. The Valley of the Kings is truly breathtaking, with its vividly preserved tombs and ancient stories carved into the desert. Watching artisans craft beautiful stone vases using traditional techniques adds a unique and meaningful cultural touch. A relaxing lunch offers the perfect pause before ending the day with a peaceful boat ride along the Nile. Drifting on its historic waters as the sun reflects around you is pure magic. A perfectly balanced experience—rich in history, culture, and beauty. A special mention to our driver, Ali, who made the entire day seamless and enjoyable. He was professional, punctual, and incredibly friendly, always ensuring we were comfortable and well taken care of. Our tour guide, Ahmed Elsisi, truly brought Luxor to life. His passion, deep knowledge of ancient Egyptian history, and engaging storytelling made every stop fascinating and easy to understand. He went above and beyond to make the experience memorable, answering every question with enthusiasm and insight.
An unforgettable day in Luxor, made truly exceptional by our guide, Professor Ahmed Elsisi. Visiting the Valley of the Kings was a highlight—the tombs are breathtaking, and Professor Ahmed brought them to life with fascinating insights and stories. Having a private guide made all the difference, allowing us to explore at our own pace and really appreciate the history. The private boat ride on the Nile was the perfect complement—peaceful, scenic, and a wonderful way to take in the beauty of the area. Everything was smooth, comfortable, and perfectly organized. Our driver, Ali, was exceptional—professional, friendly, and made the journey even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this experience, especially with Professor Ahmed Elsisi—it turned a great tour into something truly memorable.
Mohammed was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Locations were great, food was excellent. Recommended
Super tour from start to finish! Muhammad our guide was brilliant, so knowledgeable and always happy to answer any questions. Our traditional Egyptian meal was delicious and our driver (sorry I forgot his name) was great. Highly recommended
Our tour guide Mohammed was excellent, his knowledge and understanding of Egyptian history was second to none. From the pick up to drop off the service was outstanding. The driver interacted with us and made frequent stops on the 4 hour journey to Luxor. Once we entered the Valley of the Kings Mohammed gave us the history and answered all our questions, his English was perfect. The lunch stop was lovely then followed by a trip across the Nile to Karnak temple which was out of this world. Can’t recommend this trip highly enough along with our guide who made the trip extra special.
The tour was spotless from the beginning to the end. I definitely recommend it. A particular thanks to the driver Ramadan, his driving skills were immaculate. He has been friendly polite and pactual. Thank you also to our guide Mohamed that has been very informative and discrete leaving us some space. The only regret is that we spent most of the time driving and a bit rushed during the visits.
We were impressed that the drivers were very prompt and were ready to pick us up at 4.30am. The first driver drove us to Luxor safely and provided us with water on our journey which was appreciated. We met our guide Ahmed Elisi in Luxor and he competently informed us of much information throughout our tour. I am henceforth inspired to discover more about the Ancient Egyptians for myself. We visited various impressive Pharaoh’s tombs and would recommend King Tut’s tomb as a must see! It was fantastic to be relatively free from heavy crowds because we arrived there in good time. We visited 2 temples which were also of great interest. The disappointment came when we were taken to an alabaster factory where we were mislead in thinking that it would be of educational interest as a place of historical/cultural value. It was in fact a tourist trap and we were awkwardly coerced into buying an item which we did not intend to purchase. Lunch was satisfactory and then we embarked upon a most disappointing 20 minute chug upon The River Nile. 5 minutes from the jetty, we remained stationary for a further 10 minutes before returning to shore; a huge disappointment! Before departing from our guide, we were told that he expected 2 reviews from my husband and myself, no doubt presumably of a complimentary nature regarding himself. Only then, would he release photos and videos of the day. We felt that this was a ploy of bribery and therefore my husband refused to comment and become part of this game! On our return, we were unimpressed and fearful of a serious lack of safety adopted by our second driver who decided to text or phone people throughout our whole journey back to our hotel, one hand/ non on the steering wheel whilst driving at high speeds. It was a day of amazing visits and poor/misjudged actions by our driver and guide hence the low rating.
An early start to the day (4.30am) but well worth it to see everything that’s packed into this tour! Overall it was a fantastic experience and I would recommend this tour company - more info below! Positives (lots!): 1. Drivers - great drivers. A couple of stops there and back at petrol stations to use the restroom or grab a drink/snack. They were really polite and friendly and the car was super clean and comfortable. They even stopped to get us an ice cream on the way home! 2. Guide - Our guide, Mohammed, was brilliant. Very friendly and knowledgable regarding the history of each site, offered recommendations as to which tombs to visit at the Valley of the Kings and had all the tickets ready for us at each site, omitting the need for queueing. 3. Visited - Temple of Karnak, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, 20 min private boat ride on the Nile - everywhere we went was absolutely awe-striking. We only drove passed the Colossi of Memnon, no stop which was a little disappointing. 4. Food - We were taken for food at a lovely little cafe in Luxor. The food was Egyptian cuisine and absolutely stunning - somewhere we would have returned to for food, had we been staying in the area! Negatives (just 1): 1. Alabaster Shop - The guy who owned the shop was very polite and friendly, offered drinks and showed us how it was made (5 min explanation, which was great), but there was pressure to buy something (even though they say they won’t pressure you). Unfortunately, it was just me and my Mum (2 women) so it didn’t feel comfortable and was a little intimidating, as we were the only ones there with about 6-7 men dotted around and watching. We did buy a beautiful vase in the end however, we were chased to the car to make the purchase after saying no several times. The Alabaster shop is not in the itinerary and so we weren’t expecting it until the guide mentioned it. Tips: 1. Make sure you wear comfortable clothing and footwear; there’s lots of walking on uneven ground in the heat. 2. If you can, take some food with you from the hotel. 3. Take water with you (or buy it in the petrol station on the way) - we didn’t get given water until after dinner and you will definitely need some in the heat. 4. If you want to, there are plenty of opportunities to tip - food, Nile cruise (the young boys driving the boat were really grateful here), etc. - so take some Egyptian currency. 5. Take small Egyptian change for the toilets - they are 20EGP.
My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful day trip to the Valley of the Kings and Luxor. We were met promptly by our driver at 0430 and he delivered us safely to Luxor, where we were joined by our guide for the day, Professor Ahmed Alsisi. We were taken into the Valley of the Kings and given excellent commentary and explanations of all that the site contained. We were given the choice of three tombs to visit, plus the addition of King Tut’s tomb. None disappointed and were truly amazing, helped of course by the knowledge of Professor Alsisi. Onwards we went to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut which has been wonderfully restored by the Polish archaeological team who have been onsite for many years, and surrounded by the tombs of the nobles from that period. Our last site, the Habu temple, was again spectacular and incredibly preserved after more than 3000 years. I’m sure Ramses 3 would be chuffed! A nice lunch and a gentle trip on the Nile rounded off our day and we hit the road for the trip back to Sahl Hasheesh. A stop on both journeys to grab a coffee and a toilet break were welcome, so thank you Hesham for that and getting us to and from safely. Thanks again Professor Alsisi, we’ll never remember all the vast information you shared with us but we will remember the day!
An early start (4:30am) but well worth it. We were picked up promptly by our driver and the journey to Luxor was comfortable. In Luxor we were met by our guide, Mohamed, who was excellent throughout the day. Having a private tour certainly made it easier to both see the sights and hear the descriptions. Watching the chaos of some of the group trips made us appreciate our choice to go for a private tour. Our tour started in Karnak with a good guided walk and some free time then on to the valley of the kings and a couple of tombs recommended by Mohamed. The palace of Hapshepsut followed and then a nice lunch and finally a short boat trip on the Nile. Arrived back at our hotel by 5:30pm.
Ahmed Elsisi was our guide on this tour and did a fabulous job! He was very knowledgeable and we found that a private tour was the best way to experience Luxor. Our driver was also very friendly and got us around safe!
Early start but it means you get to Luxor early before the crowds. About 4 hours to get to Luxor and 3.5 hours coming back. The day was really well organised and you see some amazing sites. Would highly recommend.
Early start from Makadi but worth it to get to Temple of Karnak before most of the crowds. The. Tombs at the Valley of the kings were fascinating
Our guide was excellent. He was very knowledgable and friendly. The drivers on the other hand made the trip very exhausting. The driver from Hurghada to Luxor was good, and made the trip there pretty comfortable. The driver from Luxor back to Hurghada drove like a maniac. Despite telling him multiple times to slow down because we get car sick, he did not do so. "You can go to sleep" was his response. Driving 150-160 on even the bad roads, hitting multiple potholes very hard. Lucky a tire didn't blow two of the times. If you want a private trip for the comfort, I would specify before you go if you want a comfortable drive.
Fantastic trip from start to finish. Pickup was 430am and we headed straight over the desert road. Our drivers were very friendly and kept us informed. Our guide Moamen met us in Luxor. Very knowledgeable guide and very patient with us. Kept us informed all day. We did everything the trip advertised and there are even more optional trips you can add if you wish. We only didnt do this because our son was very tired due to the hot weather. Will definitely do again
