As a family of 5 we had an amazing time on this tour. Harbi & the 2 drivers were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. They were very friendly & professional. Harbi is an excellent tour guide with a highly detailed knowlege of Egypt which he makes easy to understand & fun. The lunch was excellent too, lots of great tasting local food served by very friendly staff. The boat ride on the Nile with hibiscus tea & coffee was beautiful. Karnak & Hatshepsut temples & the Valley of the Kings were amazing. The whole tour was incredible with plenty of time to look at everything & the personal touch from everyone involved. Highly recommended. Thank you Harbi & the team.

Karnak Temple Complex, the most important antiquities of the ancient Egyptian Civilization Karnak Temple is the largest temple complex of Ancient Egypt, the main state sanctuary of the New Kingdom. The ensemble includes temples dedicated to the Theban triad - the supreme god Amon-Ra, his wife Mut and son Khons. Located on the territory of ancient Thebes in modern Karnak - a small village lying on the eastern bank of the Nile, 2.5 km from Luxor. The Karnak Temple Complex, commonly known as Karnak, comprises a vast mix of decayed temples, chapels and pylons.
The Valley of the Kings in Egypt is the place where most of the pharaohs of the New Kingdom were buried, that is, from that time when ancient Egypt was an empire that extended along the eastern coast of the Mediterranean (the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties). It was there that they were buried, for example, Thutmose II, Tutankhamun, and Ramses. The tombs evidence elaborate preparations for the next world, in which humans were promised continuing life and pharaohs were expected to become one with the gods. Mummification was used to preserve the body so that the deceased's eternal soul would be able to reanimate it in the afterlife.
Hatshepsut's temple is one of the world’s most striking architectural masterpieces. The terrace Temple in the West Bank of luxor were built by the Queen Hatshepsuit . Hatshepsut (c.1473–1458 BC), the queen who became Pharaoh, built a magnificent temple at Deir al-Bahari, on the west back of Luxor. It lies directly across the Nile from Karnak Temple, the main sanctuary of the god Amun. Hatshepsut’s temple, Djeser-djeseru “the Holy of Holies” was designed by the chief steward of Amun, Senenmut. she was very beloved pharaoh from the people at this time .
Colossi of Memnon Two giant statues of pharaoh Amenhotep III, built in the 14th century BC. Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues that actually depict Pharaoh Amenhotep III, not Memnon. For the past 3400 years, they have stood in the necropolis of Thebes, on the other side of the Nile River from the modern city of Luxor. Two statues depict the seated Amenhotep III (c. XIV century BC). His hands are on his knees, and his gaze is directed east to the river and the rising sun.

Overall super happy. Organized this very short term (like 12 hours before departure) and everything went super smooth. The van was spacious so that we (family of 5) could sleep all the way after the 4 AM start. Our guide Osama was super knowledgeable and very accommodating of our ask to accelerate the tour a bit given the full thing was a bit too long for our kids. The restaurant they picked was very (!) good Overall great experience would recommend any time
We had a day tour for two in Luxor starting from Soma Bay with Memnon Reisen on 30.12.2025. Everything was perfectly organized. The driver , Ali was very nice, polite and careful. Our guide, Malik, was exceptional: he knew everything about Egypt history and spoke an excellent German. Everything exceeded our expectations.
It was an amazing experience with the best guide, knowing everything about history, the sites, the language of the Pharaos and the origins of the European culture. Since our guide (Nash) was born there and studied in Germany, we could understand perfectly and had a very interactive and interesting half day in Luxor. Nash also kept uns away from long queues and we could see a lot of sits without any tourist crowd. Thanks for that experience!
The tour was mesmerizing and our tour guide was the best I could have imagined ( Nasch), he told us very interesting facts about the temples we visited in a funny and factual way. I was deeply impressed with the culture and the sights. Its definitely something everyone should experience especially with the guide Nasch.
Great guide, Harbi was informative and took care of the trip and the details. Mahmoud the driver was excellent. He drove safely and properly through out the trip.
Loved the cultural deep dive, with our knowlegable and flexible Guide & driver!! 2 days we're perfect to not overstretch the days but enjoy every second of it. Perfect Organisation. Only thing we didnt Like was whether there is no other Option than having lunch in places where Guides and drivers are not meant to sit alongside with the tourists. Great Tour, would recommend!
We recently had a great experience with Memnon Reisen, their driver Ibrahim and guide Harby. We had limited time and had the one-day experience to Luxor. We were picked up early from our hotel on Hurghada. Our drive was faster than most agencies advertised and we had a very nice private car with AC, water and snacks. Both Ibrahim and Herby were very smartly dressed and we could see they paid a lot of attention to detail. We stopped once on the way to Luxor for a coffee break and Herby had a lot of information of the sites along our road. In Luxor our trip was planned to mis most of the crowds. We had amazing sites and some great pictures due to this. Herby is extremely knowledgeable and we were emerged in an ancient history filled with wonder. We had time for a few extra stops and we can recommend Herby’s recommendation for a boat ride on the nile. Private and again a great experience. Our lunch was at a very nice local restaurant. I think many tourist would mis it as its a little off to the side of the river. The food was traditional, the service amazing and we could not recommend this enough if you are looking for real Egyptian food. We were back at our hotel nice snd early with some time to enjoy the red sea before dinner. Herby was an absolute legend, he shielded us from all the obnoxious venders and steered us to most incredible sites and experiences. Ibrahim was courteous and a professional driver, his appearance and car speaks of great pride in what he does. Thank you for making such a trip so amazing.

Fantastic day. Our guide harbie was amazing. A long old day though.. 4:30am pickup and got back at 6:45pm. Glad we avoided the long coach option. lunch was really tasty and they were so nice. Own car plus own guide equals winner winner
Such an amazing experience, our guide Harbi really looked after us and was so knowledgeable on all the history. Everything ran so smoothly, we had a perfect day.
100% perfect. The most wonderful day thank you. Superb driver and very passionate, knowledgeable guide. What an experience Shukran.
Absolutely amazing experience where we learned a lot about Egyptian history. Our guide Harbie was very knowledgeable and brought history to life. Although it was four and a half hours from Hurghada to Luxor each journey, it was worth the trip.
Can't recommend enough. Everything was perfect. We were 6 friends who went together and both the guide and the drivers were amazing. Thanks alot.
Our driver Hassan was on time he was very courteous and a very careful driver considering the way people drive over here .Our guide Harvey was fantastic he went above and beyond. The tour itself was spectacular we will always remember. It was a very long day but worthwhile. We couldn't thank Harvey enough he was very knowledgeable and made the trip very interesting Thanks for the memories We were very surprised also as we were the only two in our trip private transfer we would definitely recommend this trip
A long day. Be prepared. 5 hours drive there abd 5 hours back. The lunch quality was dubious. Not happy. Guide and driver exceptional. Well worth it. But not the long day.
Amazing trip on my bucket list. Ahmed our driver looked after us so well and Mohamed our guide for the day gave us so many interesting information. Restarant Paris own grown vegetables and food was very special and sugar cane drink on way back was lovely. So many sights on the day trip made it worth the visit alone before we even got to the temples and Valley of the Kings.
We booked this day trip, 2 adults and 1 child (Nov 2024). It is an early start but the mini bus provided was so comfortable and the guide provided cold drinks and regular comfort breaks throughout. The trip its self was everything we could have wanted. Harbie is very knowledgeable on egypts history and local issues. We really felt looked after. When out with him he told local venders we were with him and we didn't get approached as much. He guided us through the day and made the experience one to remember. Thank you Herbie, the 2 drivers and Memnon for providing this trip!
We had an excellent trip. I’d recommend it to anyone. Our driver Michael and guide Harbey were great. An early start to the day but well worth it.
A fantastic day with Harbie, our guide, and Michael, our driver. Michael is a phenomenal and highly skilled driver who understands the complexities of 'egyptian driving' whilst safely getting us where we needed to be in double quick time. He also gave us endless drinks and brought us ice creams, we felt very well looked after. Harbie, our guide, was just fantastic. He gave us a comprehensive history lesson in the car before we arrived so we would understand where we were going and what we would be seeing. He escorted us through Karnak with knowledge and grace, explaining everything and answering all of our questions. We were given time to explore on our own before being taken for food and then a boat trip across the Nile. We were met by Michael, who drove us to the Colossi of Memnon, where Harbie explained the history and the story. Next, onto the Valley of the Kings with Harbie pointing out all the sites and history along the way (the workers village, Howard Carter's house etc) The Valley of the Kings is just incredible, and Harbies knowledge really made it come alive, again we were given time to explore and enjoy the site. We then went to Hatshepsut Temple, the site is awesome, Harbie explained how it came to be and how it has been rebuilt, we explored before returning to Hurghada. Harbies enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge of Egypt, old and new is captivating and enjoyable. (Harbie also doubles as a photographer, he makes sure to take pictures on your phone of you at every site, we weren't too sure at first but everything he said was true about us wanting them in the future! He's not bad either!) To conclude, these guys know exactly what they are doing, it's a finely tuned experience which we very much enjoyed and would recommend to all. They were extremely accommodating to us, we appreciated their patience and kindness. Book with them, you won't regret it.
We had an amazing trip. The pick up was on time, the transportation was spacious and comfortable, the trip had enough breaks after visiting sites. Special thanks to our guide - Harbi. He is simply an amazing guide, very caring and with good knowledge. Will definitely recommend.
Well what can i say ! we had an absolutely amazing day with Harby, he was so knowledgeable, worth every penny, if you do this trip do it privately and if you get Harb as your guide, your onto a winner, lovely guy x we had Tony as the driver, he was lovely too x
I can only recommend the tour with Memnon to Luxor. We chose this tour, as it has a private guide and transportation to Luxor. We were picked up very early in El Quseir (4:30am) but this was definitely the right decision as the temperatures in Luxor are still very high in October and it is a long drive from the Red Sea to Luxor. The car was a newer Toyota Corolla, which was comfortable for the long drive over sometimes rougher roads and lots of speed bumps. Our guide asked if we like to go to the Valley of the Kings first, because it gets so hot in the afternoon. This was definitely a good suggestion, because even in the morning the valley is hot and inside the tombs it is even hotter. Also Karnak was almost empty in the afternoon, while still bearable temperature wise. So the spontaneous replanning of our guide was a big plus. We were given ample time at each location to explore on our own, while our guide gave us a lot of interesting information, without being overbearing. All our requests were respected by the guide and the driver. For example: My wive gets seasick very quickly, so the boat trip was out of the question. This was no problem at all and we simply took the car to the other side of the Nile even it meant a bit of replanning. So to summarize we had a wonderful trip and felt very well taken care of.
We picked a private tour, given the length of the day. This was a great choice as we had a whole minibus to ourselves - especially as it was 44’c on the day of our visit. We were picked up at 0515 and after a brief introduction and explaining the initial drive to Safaga and passing through the checkpoint at 0600, we were left to sleep. We then saw the sunrise over the deserts, before stoping at Rest4 and had the option to get drinks/use toilets etc, before heading to Qena. Once travelling along to the Canal road to Luxor, Harbi our guide gave us a history and geography lesson to enhance our trip. First stop was the Karnak Temple, Harbi gave a tour and explained the different parts and age of the temples as well as the festivals held. We were then given as much time as we wished to explore the temples. We then were given the option of a set meal or buffet for lunch, which was followed by a boat trip along the Nile then across to the West Bank, where we took the minibus to the Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III. We then passed the Alablasters on the way to the valley of the kings. Harbi explained how guides were no longer allowed inside, but gave us an explanation that came to life once inside (Harbi also gave us a warning not to interact with the people inside the tombs “offering help”). We also paid a little extra to visit Tutankhamen’s tomb, which was worth the money. Finally we visited the Temple of Hatshepsut. Before heading home, Harbi and the driver popped into a local shop and bought us all soda drinks of our choice - to supplement the free cooler of water and soda drinks we’d had for our journey/trip all day. We then headed back the same way we had come. As we were not sleeping for the last part, Harbi gave us some more information about the what was grown in the fields, the Bedu compounds, the phosphorus industry, the railway and Makadi Bay. We would definitely recommend this trip and Harbi and his drivers (we had two in the vehicle) were brilliant - we arrived back an hour earlier than expected too, but at no point were we rushed around or waiting for anything. Harbi also took many photos of us as a family. Family of 3, 2x Ad and 1 Ch (8yr)
We had an amazing tone in this day trip. Harviy and Maikel were awesome. Harviy gave us such an education. We will firebrand look back on this experience with fond memories. A must do.
This was not only the best day trip of my.life but the veichle, drivers and guide were fantastic. Harby the guide was just an encyclopedia and the way he spoke and his manner was exceptional. It's a privilege to be able to see what we did. Don't take it for granted it breathtaking. We had to change days after the cut off for the cancellation but the date was changed without any costs to us. Highly recommend
Had a private tour just myself and driver and guide was very relaxed a d able to go at my own pace Georges was a great guide, not pushy at all. The only thing so would say is the tour was advised by Viator for $200, but I paid $320, no idea why the price hike as it’s not explained on the website. I’m assuming as so had a car, driver and guide to myself the prices increased. Although an explanation would be great by TripAdvisor or Viator
Brilliant trip not to be missed but be prepared for the bumpy roads around Luxor. Lunch could have been better. Karnack and the Valley of the Kings are both spectacular
It was such a great trip and nice and professional organization that I can highly recommend this tour and the Memnon Travel agency. Of course, it is a long way from our Red Sea Resort to Luxor (a 4 to 5 hours drive one way), but it was absolutely worth seeing. We felt very comfortable in the car with our two drivers. And Aiman was an excellent guide. The program in Luxor covers the most important sights and everything is included in the price. Especially the tombs are one of the best things I have ever seen. Absolutely amazing!
Excellent day out to the Valley of the kings. Got picked up on time from Tui Magic life kalawy. Although the trip is offered in house I wanted to go on a different day so this was a perfect alternative. The guide was very informative and the driver excellent. We had a lovely lunch and there were various stops each way for refreshments etc. I was well looked after. Would recommend this company.
Several companies offer cheaper and probably good day trips to Luxor from Hurghada. Since one of us has some trouble moving, and since we wanted to have some sleep before we went on the balloon ride and saw the sights, we paid quite a lot extra for the exclusive variant, being just the two of us with the driver Anthony and our guide Arbi. That meant leaving at a more reasonable time (in the afternoon instead of in the middle of the night) and spend the night at a five star Hotel in Luxor, with everything included, dinner, breakfast buffet, lunch etc. Even though this was quite pricy for us, it was absolutely worth it. Our guide Arbi spoke perfect English, was very kind and incredibly informative, no matter what our (many) questions concerned. He took the time to go above and beyond his role as a guide and even described present Egyptian culture. The driver Anthony was very professional, kind and a calm driver, in what was at times very heavy and extraordinarily difficult traffic. The logistics for the balloon ride worked as a charm and the ride will be a memory for life. There was even some time to relax on the boat to the restaurant where we had lunch. This place was also perfect (with wonderful mahsi and molokhea that Arbi had remembered we craved). Can’t think of anything negative. Although we had trouble transferring money since we didn’t have euros or dollars in cash (we didn’t know that you can’t get euros or dollars at the ATM in Egypt), nothing became an issue. At one point there was a harmless misunderstanding with the itinerary which was immediately solved to our liking and with extra care by Arbi and Memnon Reisen, with no further ado. All in all, it was a perfect trip!
I did alot of research before going to Luxor from Hurgada as the road is long. And we wanted to make sure to eliminate as much driving time and waiting time as possible, which would be if traveling with a group by bus. After seeing so many positive reviews of this company, we decided to book them, just for two of us. This was really the best desicion!! They arrived on time, at 5am. The car was comfortable, with AC. Very good driver Ibrahim, driving fast but careful. The drive from our hotel took 4,5 hours one way and 4 hours back. Our tour guide Harby was very knowledgable. He took photos of us and gave us enough free time to wander around on our own. If you plan to go to Luxor, I really recommend going with them, and book private, you will save a lot of time and won't be as exausted . We booked directly from their website, which helped to have a lower price.
Harbi is a great guide, very knowledgeable and adjusts everything to your individual needs. Being a family father himself he understands dealing with "anything".
Great tour! The guide Harpi was very knowledgeable, hospitable: he gave the right level of context and explanation, while also giving me the opportunity to explore on my own. Also great driving.
We did extensive research on tours to Luxor because it was important to us that we get the best experience. Harbi was so knowledgeable and the way he told historical facts through stories and visual drawings made the tour so interesting and engaging. His communication with the driver was flawless. Our driver always had cold drinks ready for us! This was a splurge but well worth. Definitely do not booking a private tour. This experience was once in a lifetime and we are happy we chose Memnon Reisen!
We did a lot of research before booking this tour and we could not have made a better choice! We also booked a private tour in Cairo with a different provider before this trip and can safely say the experience with Memnon Reisen was in a different league. We booked through Viator so we could pay online. Although it went through late in the evening we received WhatsApp confirmation almost immediately. Communication and organisation was exceptional from the beginning. Our driver was really polite and friendly and kept us topped up with ice-cold bottled water and soft drinks all day. It was over 40 degrees and a long day so we went through a lot of drinks between us but never exhausted the supply. Lunch was delicious. Drinks in the restaurant were extra but we had fresh juice which was both good value and delicious. We also chose to add on the additional cost to see Tutankhamun’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings on the day. Our guide Gerges was so knowledgeable and personable. We knew we were in great hands for the day and throughly enjoyed every moment of the tour. His English was impeccable and you could tell he had been a guide for 2 decades. 100% recommend this tour and Memnon Reisen. If we ever get to return to Egypt, we will be booking all our tours through them.
Great trip, guide spoke great English, shared excellent knowledge, shielded us from hawkers and merchants, tailored our experience to us. Driver was friendly, keep us fed and watered and got us there earlier, avoiding queues and delays. Lunch was excellent at a local restaurant.
We would highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to see as much as possible in one day. Thank you to our amazing guide Harby, so knowledge and attentive. Also our drivers Michael and Akmed who ensured we had as much time as possible at each location, by dropping us close and being there to collect us. All very professional, including the team who kept in contact prior to our trip. we had a wonderful day, and learnt so much. Shukran
We spent 2 days in Luxor . Thank you for the best guide Abdul and perfect driver Ibrahim. The sightseeing and transportation was well tailored for us and very comfortable . The assistance of Mohamend via whatsapp was perfect , even 5 in the morning! I truly recommend this company . Comparing quality and the price it is also very good when you compare to other offers . If we come back to Egipt I would go stright to your company to ask for trips! The only thing I would change is lunch . It was not good. We prefer local traditional restaurants or even small bars , but after one day we changed it with our guide and i was perfect👍🏻
24/7/23 Did the private tour to Luxor, Valley of the Kings from Hurghada. Collected promptly by our guide (Momen) and 2 drivers from our hotel. Bottled water supplied all day (and it was cold!) which was very much needed as the temperature was 45 degrees. The guide was fantastic and a big shout out to him (Momen), he was knowledgeable, fun, interesting and fanatical about Egyptology. Karnak Temple was so impressive and definitely one of the trips highlights. Valley of the Kings was also great, the tombs are jaw dropping when you are actually stood inside and you can witness the intricacy of the hieroglyphics, the colours and you also have the option of seeing Tutankhamun! The excursion includes a visit to Hatshepsut Temple and Colossi of Memnon. The 1 hour Nile cruise is more like 20 minutes. We were not on a felluca boat but a small boat with a motor. It was pleasant enough. Momen sorted out the tip for the captain of the boat so we didn't need to. Lunch was a traditional Egyptian meal (chicken, beef or veggie option). This was really nice. Drinks are not included in the excursion cost and can be expensive. You will also stop off at a Papyrus shop and an Alabaster shop who will try to sell you everything at highly inflated prices. I'm sure if you said to tour guide you would rather not visit these places then this could be arranged. If you do visit, please barter and be prepared to walk away. Take some small EGP/Euro currency as you have to pay to use the bathrooms as the stop off points. If you visit in the height of summer, I would advise umbrellas to help shield you from the sun, high factor sun screen, hats and to wear loose fitting clothing - ideally that cover your arms/legs as you will be outside for the majority of the day.
Trip was top drawer from start to finish even though it’s a 4 hour mooch there and back we had a good kip on the way out and on the way back it’s an eye opener just looking out of the window at the every day goings on, Harvey the guide and Chico the driver were sound lads and stopped us getting mithered off all the blaggers 👍🏻
After we had a terrible experience with another company, we found this tour late at night. I sent a message to the operator of the tour and I received an immediate response. I was very impressed. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and so pleasant which made the long trip worthwhile. We saw all the sites mentioned and we had a long explanation on each of the sites. The tour guide also acted as a buffer from all the local merchants and that was priceless. The mini buss or van was new and comfortable. The last hour or so of the ride was to Luxor was a little rough due to the road, but it gave a trip a special feel. You get to see all the local areas before you get to Luxor. Overall I highly recommend this operator.
Very knowledgeable guide with street smarts. It was good to be in a small group of only five people, the ability to listen and ask question was the best since in a bigger group it’s harder to ask question and also to listen to what the guide says (all sites are pack with people)
Very impressive tour which was well organised. naschaat our guide was able to impart his expertise very well. driver and guide were very friendly the private tour to luxor thus became a great experience
I don’t usually write reviews but Gergen our tour guide was absolutely amazing. He was friendly, spoken excellent English, was very knowledgeable and really made this trip unforgettable. It’s not the cheapest trip but the extra cost is definitely worth it for this once in a lifetime experience!
We had a great experience. Service was great, pick up in a well equipped little bus, easy booking via WhatsApp. Special thanks to our guide Naschaat Obaid - he did a great job. He spoke fluent german, even worked at Berlin university for a couple of years and was so educated. We did learn a lot about the ancient egypt but also about current situations and developments. We could not have asked for a better guide. So do yourself a favour and ask for him. Besonders wenn ihr einen deutschen Reiseführer möchtet! Greetings from the Preißler family to you, Naschaat.
Communication was great which took a lot of the fear out of parting with a lot of money for a trip with the family. 2 drivers, a great host and a modern minibus with drinks and a child seat made the whole day much easier. Harby was extremely knowledgable and accommodating, on time and well organised and there were no hitches. He knew just where to go and helped with the tipping, toilets and best places to. Take dollars to tip and a pillow for the ride. Would recommend for a private trip, or a small group.
We have been two days with Memnon Reisen to Luxor. Everything went fine. Transfer from El Quesir, meals, Hotel in Luxor good organized. We had a very nice guide with expertise in Egyptian History, who explained us a lot about all those wonders we saw in Luxor. Thank you
Our guide Harbie was very knowledgable kind and good company. He looked after us well and taught us so much about the history of the Pharaohs. He was very passionate about his subject and brought everything to life. Excellent trip overall and we were well looked after during the trip.
From start to finish Memnon reisson were a pleasure to deal with. Great communication and organisation. Our driver Mohamed was Courteous and professional. Gerges Shenouda Ayad our guide was extremely knowledgeable who took pleasure in passing on his knowledge to us. He explained everything to us in a clear and precise manner in his Impeccable English. He made several suggestions for us to choose from which enhanced our trip immeasurably. He his a thoroughly friendly personable guy. All in all an unforgettable experience and we look forward to more trips with this organisation.
