The Pyramids and the museum were the highlights of our holiday, but the tour itself was mediocre. The drivers were silent for the entire 12-hour round trip and didn't explain the long security delays at night or for how long other stops were. Our guide's English pronunciation was poor, making it hard to understand much of the history, and the information provided was very basic. Great destination, but I’d recommend a different operator.

The trip from Hurghada was long, 8hrs to Cairo and 6hrs back to Hurghada, left hotel at 01.00am.. Great small group of 10, our two drivers Mohammed and Hamed did a great job especially through the crazy traffic in Cairo. We met up with Hanna in Cairo who was our tour guide to our s3lected trips around Cairo. Arrived back in our Hurghada hotel at about 22.30..
Be prepared for a 4.5 hour journey each way on a bumpy road. You will need lots of euros or dollars for the toilet and tips. Be wary of carriage drive at Giza as driver fleeced us for a 600 egyptian pound tip half way and the road is very rocky and hair-raising! Take water and snacks. Go for the Grand Museum which is the New Egyptian Museum. Be aware that monthly salary may be £100 hence constant demands for tips! The pyramids are stunning and very little time to wander in a very special place
The bus is meant for very small people and the trip to Cairo was approx. 8 hours long (not 5-6). If you’re taller than 1,75 it is not possible to fit your legs behind the seat in front of you. Drivers were really helpful and professional though. The guide was friendly and likely very knowledgeable- but unfortunately extremely difficult to understand. His command of English so limited that we understood less than half of his sentences. Level of information during the trip was critically low and guide seemed to be in constant hurry without explaining why or for what. The lunch “restaurant” is a canteen where there were multiple black hairs on the “clean” plates and inside the food itself. The papyrus place is not a museum, but a shop. The perfumerie was a very good experience with charming and informed staff At the end of the day, when everyone was really tired, the whole bus had to wait for two people who had booked a boat trip. This was an unwelcome surprise that delayed the departure for another hour. All in all 22 hours of which maybe 3-4 were enjoyable and in line with expectations…
From start to end the whole trip was nothing as described. Pick up time came 45 mins earlier (bear in mind pick up was 1.30am! So no make up/hair done (great start!) On seeing our transport - also not as described.. old mini transport van with 8 guests already inside! (Description was 8 MAX) only seats were at the back, had no padding on seats; no headrests; no seatbelts; and no working air-con (those at front said they could feel it, want filtering to the back! No suitable for a 6hr each way journey at all! On arrival, we went to old museum - even though driver told us we were going to new GEM. Met the ‘Egyptologist’ aka saleswomen/guide at museum - who evaded answering if we were going to the GEM the whole time. She put our English group of 10 with another minibus of Russians and took us around the museum as one group, translating in both English & Russian this was a disaster and meant we didn’t understand half she was saying. Also we spent a total of 1hr 15m here (30 min free time) so around 20 mins total of her giving us some history (which was also quite basic) Same at pyramids and sphinx not the time described we had 2hr total see both. More time was spent on boat ride (not advertised in trip description) and the oil shop; and papyrus shop and lunch (which was ok, but we were left for 10-15m as a group outside waiting for the tour guides to each their lunch! (Not ok at all!) also the saleswomen was very rude if you didn’t buy/go on these extras and told you to wait in minivan. Cherry on the cake for me. Realising the whole time that they had paid half price for all my sons admissions tickets (child price) despite making me pay as an adult for him! Also the tour guide will tell you that if you want to go in pyramid you need to pay her 10 dollars extra (& before you go down to pyramids as you can’t pay once inside) total lie as once inside, there is a QR code you can scan outside the pyramid for entry at 280egp! Just money-making scam artists and would advise nobody to buy this tour! Much better tour operators out there.. do your research people, I wish I had more thoroughly.
If you’re like me and dreamed of seeing the Pyramids, Sphinx, the new museum, enjoying lunch, and even the River Nile, but didn’t fancy the long coach journey, then I can’t recommend Egytripgo! I first spoke with Bassem at egytripgo before I even landed in Egypt, told him exactly what I wanted, and there was zero hassle or pressure. Once I settled into my hotel, I reached out again and Bassem came to meet us personally in the hotel of our reception (just give reception his car number & they will let him in) At the same time, I contacted several other companies recommended in this group, but this was by far the cheapest option, just £210 per person. That price included everything above: hotel pick-up and drop-off, flights, and a personal guide. Not just any guide, but the incredible Nas, who greeted us at Cairo airport and shared his deep knowledge throughout the day & also took the most amazing photographs! (He knows all the best spots) Yes, it’s still a long day, but it’s absolutely worth every penny. They knew all the best spots, no long queuing for the new museum, we even added a private boat ride on the Nile for just £10 extra; no rip-offs, just pure magic thanks to Nas’s local connections. Bassem also offers tours to Luxor, beaches, boat trips, and more, so there’s plenty of choice if you’re planning ahead. Honestly, considering some companies were charging £300+ per person for the same itinerary, this speaks volumes. 💯 Couldn’t thank them enough for their hospitality. If you’re unsure where to start, I hope this helps you like it helped me!
Pros: The tour takes you to all the important spots, the pyramids were beautiful and the transportation worked out well. Cons: Communication was insufficient and it felt like a tourist trap most of the time, since every opportunity imaginable was used to make extra money. I was offered a taxi ride to the minibus meeting point at an additional charge of 7€, this was not agreed upon initially, however, I had no choice and also I had to figure it out along the way, since the taxi driver could hardly communicate with me in English. I only got a clear idea of the itinerary once we met our guide in Cairo after a 6 hour bus ride and I asked him to specifically say what we were doing and what was included in the price. There were several additional activities (boat ride, camel ride etc) at additional charges of 10€ each, that were presented as part of the fixed itinerary. If you didn't want to participate, you had to literally insist. Additionally, there were several stops at different commercial factories (perfume, paper), with pressure to buy more things. Summary: if you're an independent traveler who's not afraid to say "no", this trip will be worth your while, because the sights themselves (museum and pyramids) are beautiful. If you tend to fall into tourist traps and buy stuff you end up not needing, stay away.
Well organized, nice staff, friendly guide who gave a lot of helpful tips, and a competitive price on top. I definitely recommend it.
Amazing day - definitely a recommendation Throughout today Nana was very friendly & informative- she knows her ‘stuff’. Lots of photo opportunities at each site - stunning to see! Lunch was lovely and I opted for the river cruise which was lovely. The main thing I didn’t like was the continued sellers pushing their wares, but this is the cultural norm at tourist sites and not just Egypt. I travelled alone but met some lovely people in this trip - there was always someone to talk to if I wanted. I would just advise you wear comfy shoes, take sun lotion and drink as much water as you can - it’s hot! I would also say if you have any mobility issues to be careful - lots of walking and stairs but doesn’t prevent you accessing most of the sites. Just being within this history makes it worthwhile to push yourself - you can always plan a quieter time after - don’t miss this opportunity, you will regret it
Unforgettable experience and the guide was so nice. I think that it’s a must in life 😅 an advice for who is suspicious about that: TRY IT, you won’t regret that.
We flew from Hurghada for a private 1 day trip to Cairo, 2 adults and 2 kids 13 & 9. We were picked up on time from our hotel with people to meet us at the airport and guide us to the correct desk. The flight to Cairo only took an hour and left early, we arrived about 6am. Our guide Nasser was waiting for us and our mini van outside. We had a early morning trip on the Nile for an additional cost, then stopped for hot drinks and snacks. Then onto the Pyramids, where Nasser gave us in depth information about the history of the Giza site we had ample time to look around and take photos. We used the hop on off bus to travel around the different areas of the site and visited the sphinx as well. We paid a little extra to go inside the smaller pyramid. We then visited a papyrus & perfume store where were given a brief tour, but then we felt obliged to purchase a few items. Lunch was a tasty but busy affair, with drinks and additional charge, the waiters kept pressing for tips even after I'd left a tip when paying. Then onto the Egyptian Museum where Nasser took us around and explained the main attractions and then gave us free time to explore on our own. We then went to the market which is overwhelming but Nasser kept us going without getting targeted to much. We said goodbye to Nasser then our driver ( who was excellent in the busy Cairo traffic) took us back to the airport, our taxi back to the hotel was waiting for us arriving back about 20:30. Overall it was an excellent day trip with amazing experiences for the kids & having our own guide & driver made us feel so much more safer and we felt we got more out of the day. Highly recommended.
Thank you for the tour. Myself and the family really had a great time and we were very pleased to have your team touring with us. Great adventure and beautiful memories 🙏
Absolutely loved the tour, It was a seamless and unforgettable journey through rich history. We visited Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, and Egyptian Museum, and every stop was well-organized with skip-the-line access. The comfortable transportation and included meal made the long journey from Hurghada stress-free. A truly VIP experience that’s worth every penny. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a hassle-free, insightful adventure into ancient Egypt!
The guides were super knowledgeable and passionate about history, making the pyramids, temples, and museums come alive. Plus, the VIP treatment was top-notch – comfy transportation, delicious lunch, and minimal crowds 🙌. This tour is a must-do. Highly recommend
Very nice and organised we waited every step was in 3 languages we are german and understand everything we drove from the long besch resort to kairo
What a day it's been — long but unforgettable! The museum offered fascinating insights, and the short cruise was a real highlight. We truly enjoyed every moment, and the sight of the pyramids was absolutely breathtaking. This journey is one I’d gladly recommend to anyone!
We had a very long but amazing day! I think the museum was nice and the the small cruise i thought was very good. We had a nice experience and the piramides looked beautiful. I higly recommend this trip!
It was an amazing experience. The small group size, knowledgeable guide, and well-planned itinerary made it both informative and enjoyable. Highlights were the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Egyptian Museum. Great organization, comfortable transport, and delicious lunch included. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to explore Egypt’s ancient wonders without the stress.
The tour “guide” was more a salesman and did not follow the program as described. We started at the museum iso the pyramids, which we visited during the hotest moment of the day. We started at the museum, but arrived 30 mins before opening. Eventhough, the guide needed to get our tickets and we waited a long time for him. When he arrived relaxed with a coffee in hand, he still needed to arrange the tickets. The museum was half an hour guided tour which was not good explained. He was not talking into the mic and making noises next to the microphone which hurted our ears. We tried to Translate now and then a few things for 8y old kid (who doesn’t understand English) , but he did not appreciate that and found it disturbing. After that we had 30 mins freetime in the museum. So in total only 1h iso 3h visit. He asked to join for a Nile river boat trip for €15 per persoon. The people who don’t want to join, would have to wait and stay in the car. He tried to sell personalised hyroglyphic necklaces and bracelets in the car. Then, we visited an health and perfume oil seller. Which was not planned, and therefor we did not stay and again had to wait in the car. In the afternoon we visited the pyramids and Sfinx combined about 2,5h. After the tickets we were immediately asked of we will pay €15 extra for a camel or carriage ride. If we did not, we wouldn’t be able to get as close to the pyramids, which afterwards appeared to be a lie. When asked if we could hop off on the panoramic view, we couldn’t. Unless everyone else on the bus. We did not get any explanation during the actual pyramid visit and listened to the guide behind us to get some information. Overall we do not recommended this tour and would certainly not advertise of as VIP tour. The salesman was really unkind and was not a guide. Unlike him, the drivers were very kind and funny.
We had a fantastic experience thanks to our guide and driver. They were both extremely friendly, well-organized, and provided clear explanations throughout the trip. The guide took time to answer questions and made everyone feel welcome. The driver ensured a safe and comfortable journey. A great team that truly made our trip extra special!
Had a fantastic time on this excursion. The guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. Visiting the Pyramids and the Sphinx was a dream come true, and the whole day was well organized. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Cairo !
I shopped around and got this £75 cheaper than what the hotel wanted. The day went very smoothly Well organised We were collected on time and taken to airport. Flew to Cairo. Greeted at Airport by the eygptologist and driver . Yousef was very knowledgeable and an excellent guide for the day. We visited the Museum, Yousef walked us around explained the artifacts, history and hieroglyphs. Onto an essence shop. Lunch was provided at a restaurant. Shesh lamb chicken buffet. Then to the pyramids, we were lucky enough to go down into a tomb, due to Yousefa connections. He took excellent photos for us Then we had a camal ride and photos with the pyramids . Camal ride was £10 each. The young lad that took us on the camals was amazing. Totally reliant on tips!! Please tip as they do ot get a wage and supports his family... Then we moved onto the sphinx.l for more sightseeing and photos. Plenty of shops/bazaar at the sphinx Optional shopping trip after. Then drove back to the airport for flight back to Herghada. Taxi transfer back to hotel. Long day but totally worth it.!! Driving on the roads is crazy and Cairo is very poverish... The day was excellent, I will deffo book again !!
Amazing trip. Very nice driver time flew by. The pyramide was very beautiful and the food they arranged was tasteful. The tour guide was very insightful and knew what he was talking about. Thank you for the nice trip!
I recommend this tour. We were picked up in our hotel at 1:30 and the driver was on time . Car was comfortable for 6 hours drive. During the journey we had 2 breaks for coffee, toilets . Our guide was really great . She speaks good Czech language and gave us lots of information in Cairo museum and also at pyramids. We were offered 40 minutes on boat on river Nile for extra charge 10$. Lunch was really nice. Tasty and we could choose what we like. Only drinks we had to pay extra and 1 beer costs 6 $ so this was really overcharged. Drivers drove us safely back to hotel at 21:30. We really enjoyed our trip. Pyramids and Cairo are are amazing and must see in Egypt .
Very professional trip, we loved it! Everything was perfectly arranged to meet all the visiting points , we had a great guide and the best drivers to tooks is there and back to our hotel SAFE!
Great trip definitely book!! Good experiences with this tour operator always on time beautiful experience
more time would have been nice. otherwise all good
You can definitely recommend the tour. You get to see for a relaxed price what you would have to pay twice elsewhere. The hotel pickup worked smoothly. Personally, we are glad that we have not booked this tour with any other provider.
Exceptional!!! Don’t rely on the outbound transportation time (more than 8 hours of travel with incessant stops, departure at 12:30 arrival at 9am), the rest of the day is fabulous! We were greeted at the foot of the pyramids by Osama and his Egyptian accent, always available and rehearsing if we did not understand him and answered all our questions He took us 20€ per person to add a camel tour around the pyramids and a walk on the Nile, 10 if we only took one of the 2, but frankly do it, I think we could have negotiated but we were dazzled by the beauty of the landscape We were allowed to touch the pyramids, visit tombs and end the morning with the Sphinx from a distance but splendid. Then he took us to his boyfriend who sold perfumes and we went to lunch, think of your bottle of water the drink is paid for. Visit to the printing museum with very nice papyri (if you want, negotiate hard we went from 100€ displayed to 70€ with their discount and 45€ with mine) Then visit the ancient Egyptian museum, but there are mummies of the sarcophagi and many remains Finally walk on the Nile to end the day, romantic, there were 6 of us in the boat Return in 5h express To do!!!
The trip was great from start to finish was definitely worth it tour guide in Cairo was perfectly everything explained great
Very nice trip. You get extremely much to see for a trip. Highly recommended. The people from the trip were also all very friendly.
Perfect day- got seen all the highlights in Cairo! The guide mamdue was a legend!! It doesn’t seem like a museum is so fun, but he was so engaging and good at telling so it became contagious and it became incredibly exciting to see the museum! Great that it was the same guide throughout the day, especially when he was so good! The drivers and were so nice! This tour is strongly recommended
Zažili jsme s rodinou VIP výlet do Káhiry a Gízy. Byl to dokonalý zážitek, o kterém jsme snili. Tým řidičů, průvodců, organizátorů je naprosto profesionální a připraven na vše. Tentokrát jsme neměli ani koupené data do telefonů - s organizátorem to nebyla naše první cesta - má naši plnou důvěru. můžu jen a jen doporučit, vše co nabízí, splní do puntíku.
An exceptional excursion to Cairo! We had an unforgettable day, perfectly organized from start to finish. The sights were beautiful, but what really made the difference were the drivers! Always punctual, smiling and very professional, they drove with caution and put us at ease throughout the journey. Their kindness and Service contributed greatly to the success of this tour. Many thanks to the whole team for this great experience — I definitely recommend! 🙏🚐✨
Everything that was promised was kept. It was an impressive experience. The guide explained in detail in German and English and answered questions. Of course, there were also two sales stops for papyrus and perfume. If you communicate directly that you don't want to buy anything, we weren't tempted to change our minds for long either. You also have to bear in mind that the journey is very long, but that should be clear when looking at the map. The boat trip on the Nile is optional, and costs 15€ extra. It wasn't bad to catch another glimpse of Cairo, but you don't miss much either. Conclusion Great experience, price/performance definitely fits.
This experience was simply unique! Everything is studied to perfection, from the very nice Mohamed guide who has always been with us making sure that everything goes smoothly, to the drivers who, despite the 6 and a half hours of travel were always cautious, up to the prompt and efficient Customer Service. Lunch was excellent, as was the tour. Thank you so much again for this unforgettable day. Super recommended experience!
Unforgettable day... Real pyramids are magical... Museums , guide and drivers at the top Shokran.
A very dense day but worth it! Departure very early and return very late but I did not conceive of going to Egypt without seeing the pyramids 🤗. The visit to the museum was very interesting, the small cruise on the Nile nice and obviously the pyramids was great! Small downside regarding the lunch restaurant. A disaster! It was like a flunch on a Saturday lunch. Not at all pathetic
Bardzo dobry przewodnik wporzadku kierowcy zmieniali się podczas jazdy. Polecam. Przewodnik fajnie opowiada i polecił nam wycieczkę po Nilu fajna atrakcja.
Organisation and support were very good. Everything well explained, good food, times observed. Can only recommend this trip.
We had some doubts at first because of the few reviews but the trip was really worth it Price/performance ratio was really right The tour was a bit stressful but still we saw a lot The guide was really good to understand in German and also responded to our questions The ride also had enough breaks to shorten your legs All in all, nothing can go wrong with the tour
Guide at the top, excursion according to the description. I strongly recommend that everyone visit Cairo with this provider.
