Well what can I say it exceeded my expectations! Always wanted to visit and this was just the perfect way to do it. It was a long trip but was so worth it. It’s a must do!!
We went as a family with two children aged 10 and 12. Although it was a very long day, it was so worth it. Seeing the pyramids and the new GEM museum was the highlight of our holiday. We were picked up on time. The driver was very good and our tour guide Hannah was amazing! Very informative and entertaining.
An amazing experience with professional tour guides definitely recommend!
Very nice food costomers services
The main part of this excursion should be the pyramids. But I got barely an hour there at the end of the day. The rest of the trip was useless perfume shops, spice shops, lunch, other stuff. The pyramids should have been the highlight of the whole thing and the first thing to visit and last at least three hours. I travelled for about 16 to 18 hours on the coach there and back from Hurghada just to have 1 hour at the pyramids. I did not have time to get close to the Sphinx either and saw it from a distance. The pyramids closed at 4.15pm or so, my group arrived there about 3pm and was about 2.50pm by the time I got close up to the pyramid. The security started moving everybody back to the exit about 4pm. The guide was nice and knowledgeable, and he was obviously following a pre-prepared programme, but this need to change. You will be best off arranging your own tour and make sure you visit the pyramids first thing in the morning, not an hour before it shuts.
The bus journey was 9hrs missed the sunrise. The 15 min stops. Were an hour due to drivers and another man outside smoking. We were late to the museum I was charged an extra 1400.Got ferried onto a boat for rough 10 minute ride another 500 ! It was a whistle stop tour round the museum. And somebody ought to look at famous Death Mask !! Solid gold like hell it is ! That is not the same mask that I saw previously. If you look under it there is rust.Barely saw anything that I had saved up to have this experience for as it was going to be my tick of the bucket list. The whole area is shrinking under about a100 or more beggars and the horses and camels are work horses.Poor things no shelter, water feed. The horses mouths are hanging open their poor tongues are swollen they have no saliva
Absolutely brilliant trip especially our tour guide Hannah she was amazing nothing too much trouble very informative all questions asked were answered thoroughly not only a guide but a friend.
Hanah was a terrific guide and really knowledgeable, especially at the Pyramids, no problem that she couldn't help with ! Will definitely book again and also encourage more friends to do this at least once !!!
Everything was fantastic on this trip. Literally everything! Not a single bad word to say about this. Pickup was bang on time, the trip to Cairo was comfortable and smooth. We made every stop on time and had plenty time to see the sights we were booked to see. I can’t say enough good things about this tour. It was brilliant. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
We have booked this trip for the papyrus museum and the pyramids. We were picked up around 1h15 and went to the church and a mosque. We then continued our journey to the egyptian museum (old one) and an essential oil shop. Then we saw the pyramids and the sfinx. When we asked about the papyrus museum we were told this was never planned. When we showed the reservation the guide said he was sorry but this was not the plan. Very unfortunate as we really wanted to see this. As we left back home (around 18h) we were disappointed but nothing to be done. When we were in Hurghada we saw the driver was passing our hotel at 2km but he kept on driving. He had dropped off all other passengers first and then (because we had asked him) he turned back for our hotel. He said the list of hotels was a lot to remember and it was not his fault. In total we spent 25h on this trip. When we tried to discuss this with the operator we were simply told we were liars and it was not true. When I wanted to send proof no one replied anymore. Pay attention when booking this as your itinerary may not be what you pay for (it seems to be random) and if there are any issues the organising party just says you’re lying and doesn’t answer anymore.
If you book this tour just to get to see the pyramids of Giza, you might get disappointed big time. The whole tour took 22h from my pick up to finish. I was actually picked up almost 20min late and not by the tour bus, but a sedan with a driver to get me to the actual bus. However, due to lack of communication, I was escorted to another bus which took me like 10min out of town to my actual bus. Coffee breaks along the way are ok, but every stop being almost 30min it just kills a lot of time from the actual main point given that the tour should be about the pyramids of Giza. Our driver didn't even say when we have to be back on the bus again. The drive to Cairo was almost whopping 7h. Quick visit to the Egyptian Museum was nice, but unfortunately we weren't told that the main artifacts aren't even there, incl. the funerary mask of Tutankhamon, but in the Grand Egyptian Museum as the whole museum is actually going to relocate. After 1h in the museum, it took almost 30min extra for some unknown reason to continue again. After the boat trip, a lunch, and a visit to the Egyptian parfume and oil shop we were finally going to the pyramids, but at the point it was almost a quite close call as the pyramid area closes at 5pm. We didn't even get to see the Great Sprinx properly due to lack of time. Tour description mentions a visit to the papyrus factory/museum, but instead of that we were in an Egyptian spices shop where almost the whole group just wondered what are we even doing here sniffing on some spices dead-tired and a super long drive back to Hurghada waiting for us. My sincerely advise for the tour operator would be to concentrate only on the museum and the pyramids.
Our guide Mohamed Farghale is the best and the most interesting guide i ever had and he made our trip amazing and didn’t let as miss out on anything. He deserves a raise! He is so kind and have a lot of patience!
Our guide Mohamed farghale is the best. The trip was awesome and great value for money. I would recommend this trip to everyone.
Our guide Mr.Falcon was excellent, very informative and entertaining, his knowledge of the Great Egyptian Museum was outstanding,The visit to the Oil emporium hosted by an industrious bedhiun entrepreneur was a never to be forgotten treasure. Then onward to sample the magical delights of Egyptian cuisine in Giza, topped off by an enchanting cruise along the Nile which brought the day to wonderful wonderful end
The trip was a really great experience! Our guide was fantastic. We chose an English speaking guide and ended up having a guide who spoke both English and Polish. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole trip even more enjoyable. He really helped make it a fantastic experience. I would definitely recommend.
We had an amazing day trip to Cairo! It was such an eventful and educational day, and we got to see and experience so much in just one day! Our guide was very pleasant, informative and helpful throughout the entire trip. He made sure we were comfortable, kept us on track, and was always available whenever we had questions. We really enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely recommend this trip!
Honestly 10/10 experience. Tour guide genuinely connected us with culture and inside jokes! The bus was very good no complaints. A lot…of places were visited so definitely money was well spent! And well planned out. Reccomend.
What a trip, absolutely amazing! and just what we were looking for! We also added the boat ride on the Nile. Although the journey is about 6 hours, the experience when in Cairo was very much worth every second! Our tour guide Mohammed Hamdy was very knowledgeable, filled his tour of Cairo, Giza and the Pyramids with a lovely balance of history, local knowledge with a fantastic sense of humour and took really good care of us. Would highly recommend going on this tour from Hurghada to Cairo.
A special mention goes to Mamsour, our tour guide for the day, who was amazing. He could not do enough for anyone in the group and made sure everyone was looked after throughout the entire trip. His knowledge, friendliness, and enthusiasm really made the day extra special. Cairo itself was incredible. Visiting the Mosque and the Coptic Church was fascinating, and both the museum and the Nile boat trip were fantastic experiences. However, the highlight of the day was definitely the camel ride around the Pyramids — something we will remember forever! E.T.O Travels are a great company to use: very well organised, reliable, and excellent value for money. Everything ran smoothly, and we felt in safe hands throughout the trip. We would highly recommend E.T.O Travels to anyone visiting Egypt and wanting to experience Cairo and the Pyramids. Thank you for such an amazing day!
Extremely good value for money trip with lots of sight seeing involved.
This turned out to be a 24 hour round trip with about 1 hour at the pyramids. This element was hugely disappointing. I found the trip was tailored around upselling, with trips to a perfume shop and a spice shop where there was a presentation. There was far to much sitting around, which mate it even worse when we were ushered away from the pyramids so quickly to go and sit on the bus, then sit in a spice presentation before sitting on the bus again.. The museum was also disappointing with the tour guide showing us so little in the museum. The food was good, but the drinks were marked up 150%. If you want to briefly see the pyramids and are olds with not really learning anything when you are there and are happy to have a full 24 hours away from your hotel then this trip is well priced but please do not expect to be blown away. It’s a whistle stop tour. And take a good book for all the time you are sat on the bus. I am so happy I didn’t pay through the nose for this trip.
Lovely day in general. Good guide and beautiful places! Why 4 out of 5? I would have appreciated a little bit more time at the museum (30min free time) The rest was great, good and comfy bus, very helpful guide with a ton of explanations and info about Egyptian history. We learned a lot from him! The restaurant at noon was delicious. The trip to the pyramids is wonderful and well organized. We did some perfume and spice stores which were nice but unfortunately not the papyrus factory. To bad but all and all a great and wonderful day!
The experience was great. We explored Cairo, visited the pyramids, learnt about the essences and spices used in Egypt. Our tour guide was also amazing and was happy to answer any questions we had. He made sure we all stuck together and made it entertaining. I would definitely recommend him to anyone that wants to do this tour.
Definitely worth trying , if you are not afraid of long bus rides
Lovely helpful tour guide full of knowledge helped my son a lot through they day we had a great time
From start to finish was a superb trip out. The places we visited , lots of different places as described the pyramids, museum, hanging church, Mosque, boat trip on the Nile (500 egyptian pounds extra), buffet lunch and the tour guide Ibrahim was very knowledgeable and knew his history on ancient Egypt. Would certainly recommend this trip as was value for money and excellent content.
we were asked to change 2 busses during trip to cairo from hurghada .. there were soo may passenger collection stops on the way and it made journey from 6 to 9hrs, The second coach which we were transfered to was very old from inside .. seats were broken and most uncomfortable.. Bus was very stinky and smelled like toilet.. my kids couldnt sleep and we were all awake and then had a very heavy day in cairo.. There was no need for transfering us from one bus to another .. as we later saw both busses were in Cairo.. we had hassle and hence wasnt kids friendly despite paying extra in bus as was asked by travel company on whatsapp to bay extra for pick and drop from hotel although on website wmit was not mentioned 🥺 it was suppose to be nice exciting and exploring day but the travel service broken seat and rude staff made it very tiring
Hanna was an absolutely amazing guide; she was patient, considerate and knowledgeable. The day is long, leaving the hotel at 00:30 and not back until midnight but well worth it. It’s really well organised and an absolute steal for the price. Would highly recommend!
Very well organised. The bus ride is very long but thankfully was nice, had a toilet and USB for charging. The value for money is well worth it. Anyone going to Egypt needs to visit the Pyramids! Amazing!
Long bus journey, forced to go to spice shop. And alabaster shop. The highlight of the trip was the pyramids and camel 🐫 ride. Very long day, exuseted, very hot. BUS HAD TOILET BUT NOT ABLE TO USE.
An unforgettable experience from Hurghada to Cairo! The pyramids and sphinx were breathtaking and the Egyptian Museum was full of history and treasures. The guide was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Transportation was comfortable and lunch was good. The whole day was well organized and worth it. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Egypt!
I would not recommend booking with these guys on the bus for over 9 hours with no acess to toilet they did not evon have basic sanitary hygiene like tissue had to wait to stop at service stations and pay to use the toilet the coach itself was disgusting and dirty the tour itself was disappointing did to many pointless Stops to squeeze money out of you the museum and pramid was good But all other stops Was pointless and a waste of time The journey was longer than 9 hours did not match the discription at all BOOK with someone else u will be disappointed we are English travellers
We were with Hannan. And she was very good. She explained everything to us helped us with everything. She even talked in Arabic and English so that everyone understands. She is the best, and she is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend going especially with Hannan
Had an amazing time. Day was split up to give us enough time to look at everything. So many amazing views and people. We went with Hanan who took some amazing photos of our family and gave us brief overviews before we did anything so we knew what to expect. Trip down the Nile and Panaromic view of the Pyramids were definitely worth the 20 euro extra per person( 10 for the boat trip along the nile and 10 for the panaromic view of the Pyramid)
Fantastic day out. Our tour guide Hanan was fantastic and so well informed and friendly. Thank you for making this the trip of a lifetime Hanan. A wonderful experience shared with family and expertly guided by the best tour guide ever. Would definitely recommend.
Had a great trip with Hanan amazing friendly guide and very knowledgeable. She's very cautious and keeps an eye out for everyone!
Great trip and great experience
This tour provider is great. Booked the trip to Cairo on my birthday. Everything was well organised, we reached all places on time and were well looked after. Our guide Mohamed was great, he provided so many interesting facts and made everyone laugh. They even went an extra mile to give me a birthday cake during the lunch time, sang me a song and dance with me! Thank you, E.T.O Travels, you absolutely made my day! I can't be happier! Would definitely advise to book them!
As a family we absolutely loved visiting the Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Egyptian museum which is why we gave this excursion as much as a 3 rating. We feel the trip was mis-sold as an 18hr trip, ticket came saying 18-21hr but was actually 25hrs! Feel excursion company should pre advise this so clients can be fully prepared. Some passengers, (luckily not us) also had to switch coaches partway through. The coach was tired, the on-board toilet unpleasant, the reading lights did not work. The tour lead seemed arrogant and disinterested giving limited information on what to expect. There were multiple pick ups, we were collected at 00.30 from Jaz Aquamarine and the first hour was spent picking up from other hotels. The trip to Hurghada to Cairo was about 6 hours, a security stop on the way we were told would be 20min was 1hr, we realise this was not the companies fault but feel we should have been kept informed. The guide was friendly but not the easiest to understand and seemed to be pushing you to buy from traders. As well as the English guide there was also a Russian guide so had to listen to a lot of additional talking, if you can afford it would recommend finding an appropriate single language tour if available. The optional boat trip was OK but did not feel added much to the day, would rather have had more time elsewhere. We had understood that there were visits to 2 museums as we paid to go to the Grand Egyptian museum as an extra, well worth it, but only went to the one (ultimately there was not time to do 2 but...). Camel ride at the Pyramids was good but beware the camel guide was a bit pushy about tipping after taking photos, remember is not compulsory and don't be forced into tipping more than you want. Also by time had done 30min on camel no real time to explore Pyramids themselves so could have done with a little longer. Needed more time in the area near the Sphinx. Stop off at papyrus factory scheduled to be 15-20min ended up being an hour! Probably to fully appreciate the wonders of Giza in a relaxed way you need a 2 day tour. If this is the only way you can afford to visit Giza from Hurghada then would say is worth it as long as you are prepared for what the day entails.
To start this is a really long day so you need to be prepared for it. But we are glad we went and all staff throughout day were nice and helpful. Pros: Big bus is comfortable (as opposed to smaller minivans) and there is a toilet in case you really need it. Aircon is also good! Drivers are excellent. Navigating the streets of Cairo in a large bus is nothing short of a miracle! Tour at museum is good and then an hour free time. It helps having the quick tour and history explained of three parts of the museum before you’re on your own. Enough time at the pyramids and can pay extra for camel ride/cart if you want to. Some time at the end to see the Spinx. Guide and people on pick up duty keep everyone to time to make sure it runs smoothly and get time to see everything. Cons: Unfortunately as it fell we were first pick up and therefore last drop off so our day was 25 hours. To squeeze in perfume and papyrus stop is too much the latter should be dropped to get back on the road. Lunch was chaotic and rushed. Boat trip isn’t worth it (having been on similar in Luxor) but this seems to encouraged (we already had this booked beforehand as part of all inclusive ticket option). Overall I’d recommend for costing less than flying and just be prepared for long travel times. There are a lot of stops and some aren’t really clear as it isn’t for toilet breaks. It gets you to all the sites to see everything and a large distance covered so it’s worth it. Tip: there is no drinks provided and no option to get any on bus. Take lots of water. Drinks aren’t included with lunch but there is a shop next to the restaurant where you can get bottled water much cheaper than them charging €3 a bottle (we got x4 for $2 from shop). Need 50cents per person for toilets and get breakfast box from hotel as can keep things on bus when getting off at stops.
We had a wonderful tour. Our guide Hanen was outstanding, she spoke brilliant English, lots of other languages too. She explained so much to us and was very clear on the schedule for the day. She was warm and polite. There was a lot of stop and start due to all the activities in just one day (which we knew) and I wish the tour spent a little more time at the Pyramids. We only had an hour there which was a little disappointing. I would have chose a private tour for next time with longer at the pyramids but that was personal preference. Everything else such as the Egyptian Museum, Ride of the river Nile, Lunch, camel ride and the bus ride was brilliant. The camels looked well looked after and healthy so that was another positive to our trip. I wouldn’t pay for people that don’t look after their camels properly. Just be wary of the guys who take photographs wanting tips. The bus was a large coach style bus which was nice with AC and bag space. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!
Our tour guide Hannah was kind, patient and very knowledgeable! The tour was very enjoyable and Iteranary is apt for the day.
Mixed feeling about this one so I'll just list pros and cons,. Pros: - visit to all of the most important sites in one day, - clear instructions on pick up times, breaks, prices - presence of a single guide throughout the day from pick up to drop off - a convenient package - reasonably priced - nice grilled meats for lunch Cons - the guide was disinterested and not very knowledgeable, repeated the same facts over and over, while other guides spoke at length, especially at the museum. The museum itself is impressive but without the help of a guide the kids get bored quickly. Fortunately I speak other languages so I picked up some facts and background shared by the other guides. The guide didnt understand many of our questions either so it was quite disappointing Side note: Children's museum is a separate attraction, to be paid on top of the regular ticket. - the journey was extremely long (we were made to believe it would take up to 6 hours each way, but in fact it was over 8 hours which makes a difference when travelling with a toddler. - the Nile trip = going up and down the same stretch of the river with music blasting at full volume from a huge speaker. Do not recommend, especially if you travel with young kids. - a rather forgettable lunch (except for the grilled meats which were very nice)
The staff was so kind and everything was super well organized. A special thank zo Hanan, our tour guide. Her english was perfect and she explained everything very well. A fantastic tour all in all.
We had a nice day in Cairo. It is a long bus trip but it is worth it. Our guide Hanen was excellent, explained to us about the history and reasoning behind pyramids and ancient Egypt. We thoroughly enjoyed her guidance. We started at the old museum in Cairo to learn about the pyramids. After this, we had the Nile boat trip. It was an extra that is really worth getting (at this time €10 per person). We visited the perfume factory and got to sample some essences and beauty products. The lunch was included and it was ok, buffet style Egyptian food. We ended at the pyramids and it was majestic, very nice visit where the bus shuttled us from the entrance to the pyramids. We then did a camel ride by the pyramids which was a really nice and interesting experience (again, extra €10 per person but well worth it). The bus also took us around the pyramids and the sfinx. Hanen was also very helpful in guiding us to good picture spots and also talking to us about life in Cairo and Egypt. Very happy with the tour!
The trip was full of different experiences. Timetable was somewhat tight but manageable. Everything was part of the trip what was promised. Guide was very nice and told lot of facts and information that would not be available when doing trip alone. Tips about gifts, scams and other minor things were also accurate and helped to manage through the busy city of cairo!
Worst guide ever, gave no information just made highly sexist jokes. Badly orginized, had to wait outside museum for 30min resulting in only 30 min in museum. Bought ticket to go inside pyramids while guide should know they close at 4pm so wasted my money. No control of people on bus resulting in major arguments and 6 people left bus in desert. So bad they did not even ask for tip.
Great day. Very knowledgeable and friendly guide - Ahmed number 1. He was the perfect mix of comedy and facts and made the day very enjoyable. Thank you
Its worth the pain as travelled from Hurgada (Makadi Bay). The Toilet in the Bus was a great help as it saves money while travelling with kids (People should know- that you have to pay to use public wash rooms).
