The mysterious sphinx The Great Sphinx in Giza is a mythical creature with the body of a lion (the power) and the head of a human being (the prudence). It is the oldest known monumental sculpture in all of Egypt and is generally believed to have been built during the reign of Pharaoh Khafre (approx. 2558-2532 BC). It lies on the eastern side of the Chafre pyramid and is directed directly from west to east, which is why it was later considered to be the embodiment of the sun god (Hour Am Achet). The Sphinx has been the guardian of the pyramids since its inception.

Wonderful experience to Cairo by plane. Guide Ahmed Sami was nice, experienced and shared all important and interesting details with us. We really enjoyed the sightseeing spots and the extra Nil boat ride. All drivers were punctual and reliable, both for airport transfers and throughout the entire day. Bassam was an excellent guide; we learned a great deal about the pyramids and the city of Cairo. His knowledge and his command of the German language are outstanding. We were very satisfied. Incredible tour operator. I have used my fair share of tour operators, but Memnon is in a league of its own. Because of flight problems we had to constantly change our itenerary on short notice and they accomodated every single change. In addition, the tour they provided with the guide Mohammed Wafik was absolutely superb. Not only was Mohammed a studied Egyptologist and therefore of course extremely knowledgeable, but also his German was incredible and - and maybe I appreciated that the most - a thouroughly nice person that I really enjoyed spending the day with. I will definitely use Memnon again on future trips.
Great day trip from Hurghada to Cairo. Day started with a pick up at the hotel and easy flight to Cairo. In Cairo we visited all the great places : Great Egyptian Museum, Sphinx, pyramids (incl inside), Nil boat trip, bazar etc. He adapted the trip to our wishes. It was a unique experience with a very good German speaking guide Jakob - he had an explanation for everything. We can only recommend it

Amazing experience. Firstly our driver Mohammed was prompt at the time to pick us up. Although his English wasn’t great we didn’t really mind as we were only going from A to B and plus it was early hours of morning. On the way from Hurghada to Cairo there are several stops along the way as you all travel in a big convoy. This must be for security reasons. We left out hotel at 1.15am and with all the breaks and stops we arrived in Cairo at 8am. Our guide Ali was there to meet us. Ali spoke really good English which we really appreciated. The tour itself was amazing. Ali knows his stuff as he is an official Egyptologist. Ali explained all about the lower, middle and higher kingdoms and took us on a journey through them with the locations, mummification and art. I would highly recommended this tour operator as was first class. Going back was easier as you can leave at any time with no convoy. Lunch and admission fees were also included.
Memnon arranged all the aspects of the trip perfectly, Driver arrived on time and was very knowledgeable on the area, was always there when were moving to our next venue. Hanni out guide was a huge amount of fun, clearly was an expert in the field and made sure we got to see everything and were happy the whole day. My tour started with pick up from The Breakers in Soma Bay. The driver was on time and arranged everything perfectly during the drive to Kairo, where Adel, my guide for the day, already awaited us. Adel is a very polite, knowledgable and friendly guide. I very much enjoyed his expertise about the pyramids, the Sphinx, the Egypt Museum and Kairo itself. I can recommend Memnon Travel 100%. My partner and I booked a full day excursion to Cairo from Hurghada. Our driver, Beshou, picked us up promptly in a clean and air conditioned vehicle and offered us cold drinks. He made sure that we stopped regularly for comfort breaks as it was a long drive. We met our guide, Hani, at the pyramids. Hani immediately put us at ease: he sorted all of our tickets, kept us away from the crowds and any unwanted attention, shared his expert knowledge (over 30 years of experience as a guide with a degree from the University of Cairo) with us and also made sure to get lots of photos for our memories. After spending time at each pyramid, we viewed the sphinx before heading for lunch: a buffet with hot and cold foods. Once we had cooled off and recharged, Hani guided us around the museum and we were able to see lots of incredible artefacts including the findings from Tutankhamen’s tomb! Sadly, it was time to bid Hani goodbye and drive back to Hurghada with Beshou. As it was our first time visiting Egypt, we were a little unsure what to expect from the excursions we booked online but it is safe to say that this trip definitely exceeded our expectations! Hani’s genuine love for Egyptian history and his passion to share it with the world really did make this trip extra special. Would recommend to anyone!
First of all, many thanks to Jakob, our tour guide, for this unforgettable day in Cairo on 15 October 2024! The private excursion with Memmon Reisen is certainly not cheap, but worth every euro. The service was simply excellent. All questions were answered and the pick-up also went smoothly on the day. A tip: You can book additional services on the day. For example, a trip on the Nile or the trip to the plateau at the pyramids. You need extra money for this. I wasn't aware of this. I rarely take a credit card with me on such day trips. Ask Memmon Reisen here in advance. We would book there again at any time. Because here you definitely don't experience a coffee trip with a sales show. We were allowed to decide for ourselves what we wanted to see and for how long.

We booked the private trip from hurghada to Kairo and it was simply amazing. The driver picked us up and drove us safely trough the traffic (and crazy stresst in Cairo). We can only praise Memnon Reisen for this trip. From contacting us via WhatsApp to planning and booking our flight, payment on pick-up and the super guide Markus, everything was perfect. Pick-up on time at the hotel and airport with driver and a huge crate of drinks. Guide Markus very competent and child-friendly (even got our children 6/7/9 ice cream and a Fanta). The museum was so varied and informative. Thank you for this. They also catered to our needs and we spent a really long time at the pyramids. We would do it again at any time, even with children! Organisation and communication in advance was very good. Drivers picked us up at the hotel exactly as agreed. Drivers were really good and did a safe drive. We went on several trips organized by Memnon Reisen (to Cairo and Luxor), as well as a visit to the Great Aquarium in Hurghada, a day of snorkeling and the transfer to the airport. In all cases the service was exceptional. The guides were knowledgeable, experienced, friendly and attentive and our driver was always punctual and careful. In addition, the prices are not exaggerated. I highly recommend them and would not hesitate to use them again.
I did a private Cairo Tour by plane from Soma Beach. The trip was perfectly organized. The official program included the Pyramids, Egyptian Museum and the interesting scenery at Elmoez Street and the Khan Elkhalili Basar. Besides that, my outstanding guide Essam additionally showed me the Hanging church, we had coffee, juice and even partly watched football in a very 'local' cafe. Essam was nice, fun and totally knowledgeable. He could read and speak the hieroglyphs!! All in all I had a fantastic day in Cairo.
We got private tour with their driver that was an AMAZING and SO RESPECTFULL guy with me and wife.My wife couldnt even close or open car door because be was already there doing it.We felt so safe everywhere we stopped and he explained us everything without asking just to make us feel safe. The tour guide from Cairo that was with us at pyramids/sphinx and museum is a living encyclopedia that shocked us with amount of information and details that gave us even if we knew alot about Egypt history,we felt like 2 school kids learning from teacher.Even other people was ignoring their guide and was listening to ours haha 😄 We felt extremely safe everywhere we gone as he is official guide and no sellers even tried to sell us things and kept away from us. I dont know what to say more about them.They are amazing people that does their job with pleasure and love and not for money only and that you feel from when you are picked up feom hotel until you arive back. After booking the private family tour with Memnon from Safaga to Luxor in December 2021, I decided to go again with them and booked a trip to Cairo - including exclusive tour guide in German and flight to Cairo. We had a great day, it was an early start at 2 a.m. but the drive was smooth and we arrived in Cairo right before the museum opened. After the museum we went to a papyrus factory and after that a terrific lunch. After lunch we went to the pyramids, we went to several photostops and of course the sphinx. Our day ended at a oil factory and we were back in the hotel at 8.30 p.m. Long day but worth it. The guide and egyptologist Mo'men was terrific! We enjoyed his company. The driver Chico was also great. Thank you!!
From initial booking to the end of the trip the process was stress free and easy. We received messages regularly keeping us informed of what to expect and everything ran true to form. We were met at 2am at our hotel by our driver Mohammed and our Egyptologist guide Ghergas (apologies if incorrectly spelt). Both of them were very friendly, knowledgable and made us feel safe throughout the experience and made it a really memorable day. Its a long day, but was well worth it. We visited the Egyptian museum in Cairo, then moved on to Giza to see the Pyramids and the Sphinx which was made really interesting by the guides insights and knowledge of the sites. After these visits we had an Egyptian lunch in Cairo which was also really nice before departing back to our hotel in Hurghada arriving back at about 7pm. Im really glad we booked a small tour rather than a group one as the guide and driver were happy to tailor the day to suit what we wanted to see and gave us all the time we required to do so. It was an incredible experience.

We took a Day trip to Cairo by plane from Hurgada. Everything was organized perfectly, our Guide in cairo (Russian Speaking) was very informative, we learned a lot about Egypt culture. Visited Cairo museum, Pyramides, Citadel of Saladin, Khan El Khalili Bazaar, El Moez Street in Old Cairo, Old Cairo. Saw Cairo from different side. It was very interesting and informative trip. Next time definitely will use Memnon Reisen tours.
The trip was perfect! The drivers Akram and Mohammed were very courteous and helpful! Akram took us through great streets in Cairo and also to better entrances and views of the pyramids. Our guide Ezzat was very efficient; he managed to show us all important sites and was very knowledgeable of Ancient Egyptian history as well as about where to go and what to see. He accommodated us very well! The lunch was served at a very nice local restaurant and was very tasty typical Egyptian dishes. We departed at 3am and returned around 10:30pm. We have made unforgettable memories in Cairo and we would definitely recommend to others.

We can’t recommend this tour enough. We travelled from Soma Bay with 2 children aged 9 and 11 and everything was on time, great quality and comfort despite it being such a long day. The day to Cairo was amazing! Our guide was passionate about her job, honest and was looking after us all the time, giving us proper advice. Also, our driver Michael was on time and they adjusted to our request even though we wanted something different than the arrangement from the beginning. The long trip was totally worth it and i would highly recommend them again and again. They were in contact with us all the time from minute one, they explained everything and they were not after money as many people here. I would do any trip anytime with them again
planned this trip witz memnon weeks before my holiday ok whats app. driver was very very nice he had also cold drinks in the car…we picked up the guide in cairo also very very friendly, said to him that I had sole special wishes (wanted to enter the cheopspyramid, and wanted a camelride)…first we had a tour of cairo itself in car the guide explained the history of cairo and how the people live here…after we got to the egyptian museum where the guide managed to get us in before all other tourist groups….he asked immediatly if I want to stay witz him the whole time at the museum or if he should just explain the highlights and after I could explore the museum myself…I stayed with him he was an incredible good guide…..after the museum he asked me my eating preferences and brought me at a buffet restaurant with grill…..after eating we got to the pyramids of giza…because my extrawish he brought me immediatly to the entrance of the cheopspyramid (was very hard to get to the burialchamber)….after he showed and explained me the pyramids and tombs of giza…we went to a overview point where I could make the best pictures with all the pyramids…after on my wish he arranged me a camelride (a dream on a camel in front of the pyramids….last stop was the sphinx amazing….after an incredible day the driver brought me back to hurghada …thank you memnon for this unforgettable trip…..Faltz Andy 35 years frim Luxembourg

booking my tours to luxor and cairo with memnon really was the best decision! i took 2 private tours and the money was really well spent with them. The guides were sososo friendly and told me such interesting information the whole day long. They told me so many things i haven‘t heard before, translated hyroglyphes and could answer all the questions i had. The guides took care of me and i felt so safe with them, also they aceeded to my wishes and changed the plan in Luxor when i spontaneously felt like changing it. also their german was really good and the communication between us was so unproblematic. the food which is included was delicious and in the buffet is also enough included for vegetarians. i have to say it again, it really was sooo tasty! i am amazed by how well everything was organized and the effort of management they have. it is so worth your money. also beforehand you can message with them easily through whatsapp and they will offer you a plan/program which can also be individually changed and include your wishes - but as mentioned before they also were so spontaneously and changed the plan for me also on the day i took the trip. so i am extremely happy with my experience and still overwhelmed by their friendliness and openness. also the driver was amazing and he drove safely on the streets and also we had such great conversations during the drive! he gave me information about living in egypt and so many other things. it was so perfect and from my heart i can only recommend it.

Not the cheapest trips but well organized and definitely worth it. We went to see Cairo and Luxor on two private trips. Der Trip war perfekt organisiert. Wir wurden pünktlich am Hotel abgeholt und zum Flughafen Hurghada gebracht. In Kairo hat uns unser Guide Jakob in Empfang genommen und uns den Tag über begleitet. Zuerst ging es in die Altstadt, dann zu den Pyramiden. Nach dem Mittagessen haben wir das Grand Egyptian Museum besucht. Jakob hat uns die sehenswertesten Ausstellungsstücke gezeigt und uns den ganzen Tag über mit wertvollen Informationen versorgt. Was uns besonders gut gefallen hat ist, dass wir zwischendurch auch Zeit alleine hatten (an den Pyramiden und im Museum) und so den Tag ein stückweit selbst mitgestalten konnten. Empfehlung!!!
It was an all-around successful day! The planning in advance via WhatsApp was already extremely friendly, uncomplicated, and customer-oriented. Our friendly driver Mohamed picked us up on time and brought us safely through the sometimes quite wild traffic in Cairo. Our guide Wasim joined us at the Giza Plateau. He spoke excellent German and explained the historical structures, the exhibits in the Egyptian Museum, and much about Egyptian history and culture to us in an interesting and understandable way. I would like to particularly highlight the flexibility. Wasim accommodated our wishes at all times and the entire excursion could be customized. We were able to decide for ourselves what we wanted to visit and how much time we wanted to spend at the individual sights. No time pressure, no rigid program. We felt well taken care of all day long and can unreservedly recommend Wasim, Mohamed, and Memnon Tours!
We had an excellent time in Cairo with Mona our guide, and Ammar our driver who picked us up in Hurghada and followed us during all our visits.
