I truly do not recommend you to go there. First of all, the staff mostly just want to get as much money from you as possible. Upon arrival, they ripped us off for $20 for an early check-in. Otherwise, we would have had to wait in the reception. The food is weird and tasteless; both of us ended up with stomach rumbles and diarrhoea. There is also a lack of options on the menu, which consists mainly of fish and chicken. You are not allowed to leave the hotel even if you want to.Some of the staff will drool over you and try to flirt, even if you clearly don't want them to. You are not allowed to take glasses from the lobby to the pool, only plastic ones. If you go for a walk on the beach in the late evening, the guard will question who you are, suspecting you are an intruder. We decided to go to Cairo, and the driver crashed the front part of the car because he was talking on the phone while driving. I opened my window ajar, and he immediately closed it because the wind was disturbing him while he was dealing with his personal matters on the phone. Not a single word, nor a suggestion like, "I will turn on the air conditioning because it's very stuffy here." Afterwards, he actually demanded a tip.The Wi-Fi doesn't work there; you are literally cut off from the rest of the world. The floors are surprisingly dirty everywhere. Every evening, the plants are watered with sewage, and the terrible odor spreads throughout the entire facility. Lastly, the staff accused me of skinny-dipping in the pool at night. Don’t waste your money going there.

The Viva Blue Resort and Diving in Soma Bay is not an anonymous, overly staged luxury hotel, but rather a place with a calm, nostalgic charm that gently brings back the feeling of travel from another time. The hotel is defined less by artificial luxury than by atmosphere, tranquillity, and the people who work there. I would especially like to highlight the staff. In every area of the hotel, the employees were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and respectful. From the outstandingly hospitable and accessible management and ownership, the helpful and knowledgeable Kero and Malak at reception, the attentive waiters — with special thanks to Imad — the busy chefs — with special thanks to Mustafa — the lovely F&B managers in the restaurant, the talented Chef Edward at the Grill Bar, polite Amar and Mahmoud in housekeeping, watchful Anton and Mena by the beach and pool, and the hard-working gardeners who maintain the beautiful gardens in these desert surroundings, to everyone whose name I sadly cannot remember, without exception, the staff seemed genuinely interested in making my stay comfortable and relaxing. I was treated with real attentiveness, without it ever feeling forced or intrusive. This respectful, familiar and warm atmosphere made my stay truly pleasant. The location and atmosphere of the hotel are ideal for guests seeking peace and quiet in a unique desert landscape. Those looking for large shows, big European buffets, loud entertainment, or a highly modern design hotel may not find exactly what they are looking for here. However, anyone who appreciates the sea, open space, relaxation, and a personal atmosphere will feel very comfortable. I also expressly do not agree with reviews describing the staff as unfriendly or the food choices as insufficient. In my view, friendliness is usually a two-way street, and a small, familiar place like Viva Blue is best appreciated with an open mind and a curious attitude. The many longstay guests and serial repeaters I have encountered during my stay speak for themselves. My own experience was that the staff treated me and other guests with warmth, patience, and genuine respect. I found the food pleasant, varied, and, importantly, prepared with care and a sense of environmental and economic sustainability. The plentiful choice of creative salads, regional and international dishes, fresh fruit, and pastries at lunch and dinner offered something for every taste, as well as the opportunity to explore and try different things. I also had the clear impression that, had I had any complaint or specific dietary requirement, the staff would have gone out of their way to accommodate my request swiftly and kindly. The resort has its own distinct character: slightly nostalgic, peaceful, and charming, with the tranquil sense that not everything here is interchangeable. For this reason, Viva Blue stands out to me from many more soulless hotel resorts. Overall, I would especially recommend the hotel to guests seeking rest, solo travellers, friends, couples, as well as divers and snorkellers, looking to switch off. For me, it was above all the exceptional combination of friendly staff, respectful service, and the special charm of days gone by that made my stay so lovely. I would happily return at any time.
If you search for a quiet place to peacefully take a break from everything this is your spot. The food is amazingly delicious. It has a lot to choose from and they have a great selection of salads, meat, pasta everything you need. If you book all inclusive you have a selection from drink to choose from while you are eating and in the evening when you are chilling in the outdoor area. The pools are really clean and well maintained. The water is crystal clear. They have a beautiful garden all around the hotel- again very well maintained. The beach is also really nice, private and relaxing. The staff here are amazing!!! Everyone is always friendly and welcoming. They make you feel like you are at home. The housekeeping service is really great. They cleaned our room daily and made fun animals with towels. The guys in the restaurant were also amazing. Malak and Kero were the best! At every hour of the day no matter when, they were always smiling and making us feel so comfortable. They were always there to help us and make our stay even better! It was a pleasure meeting them! We will definitely be back.❤️
If you're looking for a small, peaceful, economical hotel with good food, a good massage centre and a GREAT DIVE CENTRE, this is the place for you! The mainly Egyptian Extra Divers team are fun, friendly, helpful and flexible. They provide a great range of courses in English and German, as well as guided and unguided dives on the housereef, short zodiac trips and dayboat trips from nearby Safaga and Makadi Bay. The meals on the dayboats are amazing.
This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, there are also teenagers staying at the hotel so not an adults only hotel. There are people walking bare foot in the restaurant! So unhygienic..Our room is large but the wind comes through the windows and doors making it cold and drafty, you are charged extra in the rooms for drjnks from the fridge. The staff are all miserable except for the chefs in the restaurant.None of the staff seem to want to help you, they are too busy on their phones or eating food in the restaurant. Been to many hotels in hurghada over the past 15yrs and this has to be the worst. Avoid at all costs. Looking forward to going home.....
