Hue To Hoi An By Private Car Via Hai Van Pass, Golden Bridge, Marble Mountains

Wonderful experience taking in excellent cafe and pearl shopping at La Lagoon before heading to the marble mountain. (The views along mountain pass from La Lagoon were amazing). Then the final journey to Hoi an. Our guide Ngọc Sáu was very helpful. His English was very good and easy to understand. Definitely recommend others to visit . Da nang, the city just before marble mountain, looked really busy with lots of new developments taking place

As part of our itinerary we had the pleasure of a private car take us from Hue city to Hoi An via Hai Van Pass & Marble Mountain. It was both educational, interesting & we had a great laugh along the road. Along the journey we seen & visited Lap An Lagoon, Lang Co Beach, Hai Van pass, Golden Bridge (Ba Na Hills) & Marble Mountain. It was a long, busy & enjoyable day and Nam made it flow perfectly at a pace that suited us. We were dropped to our hotel in Hoi An & said our goodbyes to Nam. Booked a driver with TripAdvisor and we were so lucky to get Leo. He communicated prior to the trip and was a little early. The car was immaculate and he had cold water for all of us. Cars, motorbikes and pedestrians add up to crazy in Vietnam but we always felt safe. We started in Hue. Leo took us to a lovely lagoon. He zipped us through the entrance to Sun world (sort of like USA Disney) then to our final stop in hoi an. All the way he was so pleasant and conversational. If you need a driver and can ask for Leo, do so!

The company was very accommodating on what we wanted to do or not do and Leo was happy to change itinerary for us! He was a great host, had water ready for us and allowed us as much time as we needed to visit each spot. We had a very comfortable transfer from Hue in the private car. Our driver Leo provided exceptional service, very safe driving and great communication. Leo (Thanh Tien) was our driver and guide from Hue to Hoi An on 20 January. He was a great guide, punctual, and accommodating to aid two senior women touring Vietnam. He took us to stops along the way, per our instructions, including along the Lang Co Peninsula, SunWorld BaNa Hills Park where the Dragon Bridge is located, and stopped at the Marble Mountains. Our stop at the BaNa Hills Park was on our own and we ended up taking up a much longer time than expected; he waited below in the parking lot, patiently and with no complaint. His English was good and he helped describe sights and answered our questions on local life and customs. He was very friendly and offered us bottles of water and made stops for refreshment and toilet needs along the way. We felt safe and well cared for.

Despite having rainy weather hampering the activities along the way, what made our day very enjoyable was our driver Tien (a.k.a. Leo). He was very talkative and energetic and attentive, and made sure to take very good care of us the whole way from Hué in the morning to Hoi An in the evening. No request was too difficult for him, and he was very flexible in offering up suggested places to stop for a rest or for lunch as we worked through our day seeing the sights. Even though we tourists we were unfamiliar with the area, Leo made sure we were covered and in safe hands until reaching our destination.

We had a great time with Tien (Leo) - he picked our group of 4 from our hotel early in the morning as we wanted to reach Hoi An early in the afternoon. The Golden Gate stop was amazing! Well worth visiting but count on spending 3 hours up there as there is a charming French village and loads of things to see other than the bridge itself. Leo took us to the special lane for tickets where we didn’t have to line up and he waited for us at the parking lot. We also stopped at the beach where they grow oysters and harvest pearls, as well as Hai Van pass which has historic significance as a gateway to Da Nang city and thus a strategic military point. Leo also recommended tailors in Hoi An and a few restaurants. He was super funny and relaxed as well as a good driver.

David picked us up from our hotel and was super punctual sending a message that he had arrived. In fact communication via WhatsApp and in person was excellent throughout. Really friendly and honest. We travelled in some pretty miserable weather but we felt safe during our journey. We were told many things about how people in Vietnam feel about development (as there was much on the trip), their culture and what to expect given the time of year. The weather was pretty dire to be fair but we still was able to make the most of it. What we did appreciate is being guided to the screens as to whether we wanted to attempt the golden bridge or not given the ticket price, we opted out as we still have plenty of time to revisit on a better day. We were given an alternative activity to do too. We were also given tips as tourists, which is refreshing, we are seasoned travellers and there’s nothing worse than being handed over to second rate tourist trap after tourist trap for a cheap commission that goes into the drivers pocket. None of that here, in fact, quite the opposite. Safe travels!

We had an amazing time! The lagoon and marble mountains were highlights. I have to especially thank our guide Nam. He was an excellent driver and guide-- he was extremely friendly, told us lots about the places we visited, and even made a few adjustments to the itinerary for us. Definitely worth it.

Harry was our driver and he went out of his way to look after us. We went to ghost town, lady buddy and monkey mountain. Very attentive and informative- thanks Harry, even gave us some recommendations for eating.

We were collected at the agreed time and warmly greeted by Nam. We started the trip and made our way to Lap An Lagoon where we made the first stop. On the way Nam gave us some interesting facts. Due to the weather some of the stops we did not get the views but Nam gave us the best experience possible. He allowed us to change the schedule as the Golden Bridge was not going to be great as it was quite misty and some cable bars closed, so we instead went to Monkey Mountain. Would recommend as a way to travel from Hue to Hoi An. Nam was very careful driver and we felt very safe with him.
