Awesome afternoon with our Guide Linh! He know a lot of the ancient City and shared his knowledge while being extremely entertaining and funny. Questions were well answered in proper english. In the end you give a tip of what you think the tour was worth for you. The tour is about 2,5 hours long, where you get to know the most important buildings in the ancient town. I can totally recommend this phenomenal experience!
Fun engaging tour, informative and enthusiastic guide with lots of information. Our guide was amazing at finding us shade during the tour as it gets really hot, there were also space to buy more water or an icecream if needed :)

I had a really enjoyable tour of the Imperial City with Linh. The communication beforehand was excellent and the meeting point was easy to find. Linh was a great guide, very knowledgeable and funny. I learnt a lot about Vietnam’s recent history and all drama with the Emperors! I would recommend Linh’s tour if you are looking for an informational and fun experience.

The 3+ hours tour had just the right pace given the heat. Linh, our guide had lot of sidestories to tell. Ask him about the 12th emperor and his true likings. Also ask him for food recomendations in Hue, because the are great.

Mr. Nguyen picked us up promptly. Gave us good information ahead of time about leaving our luggage at a local restaurant. The tour was just the right length with good stops and time to look around by ourselves. Mr. Nguyen knew a lot about the local sights and history. His English was good. He included everyone on the tour, by asking them questions and getting them involved in the history. It was very enjoyable. Also Mr Nguyen was much cuter than the picture of the emperor playboy that he kept showing everyone! LOL we really enjoyed our tour. Thanks!
We had the Hue Imperial City Tour with Linh in August 2026. The tour lasts 3 hours and covers all the buildings and main landmarks of the Citadel. Linh is an excellent guide: he told us a lot of interesting facts about Vietnamese history, in particular about 19th century and Imperial period. Besides history, Linh has been very available in teaching us a variety of curiosities about Vietnamese culture, language and traditions. I storngly recommended to explore the Citadel with him!
We’ve done many walking tours across Europe, and while we’ve enjoyed our travels around Southeast Asia, we haven’t always found the walking tours here to be of the same standard. This tour was the exception. It was by far one of the best we’ve done. The balance between entertaining storytelling and historical information was excellent. We learned so much about Hue, as well as Vietnam’s wider history and culture. If you like facts and history and hate those organised tours which try to cram in everything and feel rushed then you will really enjoy this well paced informative tour. Linh was a fantastic guide. His English was excellent, making everything easy to understand, and he was warm, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions throughout. We left with a much deeper appreciation of Hue and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city. Definitely worth your time!
We arranged a private tour with Linh due to our family size. Linh made the tour fun with his witty sense of humour and he was clearly very knowledgeable. We loved his enthusiasm and ability to explain history in a digestible way and he gave us great local restaurant recommendations at the end. We didn't cover all of the sites but were appreciative of the flexible pace of this 2.5 to 3 hour walking tour, so older family members could do it more comfortably in the July heat. We each learned so many memorable facts about ancient history and modern life in Vietnam and even the non-history buffs in my family said they enjoyed the experience much more than they expected. This was our second visit to the Imperial Citadel and having a guide makes a huge difference. We were in a small group of 6 for this tip-based tour and our guide Linh was outstanding - one of the best guides we’ve had in Vietnam. We had an excellent couple of hours with Linh as he walked us through the key sites of this enormous complex, delivering a succinct, witty and informative history of Vietnam’s Royal dynasties and the Imperial City. A nice combination of background, history and free time to explore different parts of the large complex. Highly recommended.

Our guide through the Imperial City and the Citadel in Hue was absolutely outstanding. He has an incredible amount of knowledge about the history and background of all the sights, and he made the entire tour both fascinating and engaging. We especially appreciated that he showed us historical and related photos throughout the tour, which helped bring the stories and places to life even more. The tour was extremely well prepared, very relaxed, and at the same time highly informative. Our guide was always friendly, calm, and attentive. He gave us plenty of time to explore the sights on our own and never made us feel rushed. We also really appreciated how thoughtful and considerate he was during the tour. Whenever possible, he made sure we had places to sit while listening to the explanations and carefully chose shaded spots so everyone could stay comfortable in the heat. He also gave us good recommendations for the local dishes to try. Overall, it was a wonderfully relaxed, informative, and enjoyable experience. We can recommend this tour without any hesitation and would like to thank our guide for such a memorable time in Hue.

RECOMMENDED! The guide showed us all the main buildings, explained the history behind, crazy unknown facts. The way everything was explained was amazing so we could understand everything about the history and facts about every building. We were a group of travelers from different countries and the guide could speak different languages. We had time to explore the buildings by ourselves and then go back on track, great experience!
