We had a fantastic evening on this food tour and would highly recommend it. Mr Quang our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and incredibly organised. He did a wonderful job engaging our young children and made sure they felt included throughout the experience, which made it enjoyable for the whole family. Travelling around Hue by cyclo was great fun, and we always felt safe thanks to the experienced riders. We visited authentic local eateries that we never would have found on our own, and Mr Quang was incredibly proactive,he quickly found us tables at each stop, so there was no waiting despite how busy some of the places were. He was flexible and showed initiative to drop us off at the end of the tour at a hidden cafe for the best salted coffee after leaning we loved coffee. Most importantly, the food was outstanding. Every stop offered something different, and it was a wonderful introduction to Hue’s local cuisine. The tour struck the perfect balance between delicious food, local culture and family-friendly fun. Thank you for such a memorable evening!

Authentic street food tour with a friendly and very knowledgeable guide (ask for Mr Quang!!) wide variety of local dishes tasted!
We had Ha as our guide, she was so lovely, friendly and helpful. She described the tradition and history of every dish, as well as the culture of people of Hue. We had a blast and we highly recommend to take a tour with Ha
I was lucky to have Mr. Quang as my guide for this walking food tour. He is such a nice person. The local food he introduced us to was delicious. The knowledge he shared about the history of Hue, and of local culture and customs, was very informative. It was one of the best tours I've been on.
Ha was a fantastic guide. We got to try lots of delicious, full size dishes (we should have paced ourselves with the quantities!) and learn about how it's all made, as well as given lots of interesting historical and cultural background. Ha was very friendly, flexible in her suggestions depending on our tastes and gave us great tips to enjoy our time in Hue. Thank you, we loved it!
Ms Ha was a splendid guide! Easy going and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful local food experience. Glad we were walking because we had so much to eat! She took us to five different spots, off the beaten track, unique and delicious. Back lane private home eateries and pop up noodle stalls all with a special Hué flavour. Highly recommended.
Ha was an absolute pleasure. She was intensive, knowledgeable and professional. Not a dull moment. She was also kind enough to a small interview after food tour for a film project I'm working on. If you are coming to hue city you must book a tour with Ha!
My 2 friends and I had a wonderful and wonderfully filing evening traipsing around Hue with our knowledgeable guide Ha. She guided us to 7 spots over the course of our nearly 3 hour, 5,000 step walking tour. All of the food has been covered elsewhere, but please arrive hungry. We enjoyed a local Huda beer and covered a lot of ground in the city heat. Ha provided welcome commentary on what we were seeing (and eating) and the wait lines for food were very short, even when some of the establishments seemed at capacity. In sum, this was an educational, delicious, memorable evening and one you should book immediately. Favorite dish: the Hue gelatinous rice cakes (Bánh Nậm) and the tiny clam rice (Cơm Hến). Suggestions: bring along an appetite and a bottle of water or two as all the eating is thirsty work. Oh and do try the bonus infamous duck egg (Trứng Lộn). This defeated us, but maybe you'll conquer it.
Ms Ha was a wonderful tour guide. She has a clear enthusiasm for her home city & its foods. All of the food was delicious! The tour was exactly what we were looking for - off the beaten path & where the locals go. Highly recommend
I was sent clear instructions as to where to meet my guide, Ha. She was waiting for me and explained to format of the tour and checked for allergies. It turned out that I was the only person booked so we set off. I opted for a walking tour. I was introduced to a variety places and food that I probably would not have tried otherwise. Ha explained clearly what everything was and the ingredients used. It offers great value and was an excellent way to spend a few hours. Top tip: skip lunch as the servings are very generous!
I booked this last minute and very pleased that I did so. Ha is an excellent guide and clearly explained the various dishes that we tried. Our walking tour took us to a number of places where we were served a variety of traditional dishes. In all, it was a great evening and very worth doing. It offers very good value and will take you to places that most tourists don’t visit. Top Tip: skip lunch as you need to be hungry!
We loved the food tour with Mrs Ha! She showed us traditional Hue foods and told us about the history of the dishes. We had an amazing time, lots of good food and we learned a lot. We would definitely recommend it!
Everything was fantastic, highly recommend! Great variety of food stops at street stalls and small family-run restaurants.
This was the best thing we’ve done in Vietnam so far! Hà was wonderful - she took us on a 3 hr walking tour that included 5 very unique food stops and a walk through Hué’s largest market. The food was exceptional - Hà explained each dish and how they were prepared. She made sure our food accommodated a gluten allergy. Highly recommend!
We had such a wonderful tour with Ms. Ha. We had 5 different stops and were able to sample so many different foods that are unique to Hue. This was one of the most authentic food tours I’ve ever had. I rate this tour 15/10! Come hungry because it’s a lot of food!
The food tour was a great experience! I could learn a lot about Hue and its culture and history through the delicious street food stops and through Ms Ha, who's a very knowledgeable, accomodating and experienced tour guide. She's very attuned to her guests but also knows her way around Hue and knows all the cooks personally, which made it a really nice insight into the city I couldn't have gotten otherwise so easily. The atmosphere is also very welcoming - I'd happily book again.
Ha took us around Hue to try some amazing street food. All the dishes were so fresh and delicious - we wouldn’t have been able to find these vendors on our own. Ha did a great job of explaining the history of the dishes and the history of Hue so we could learn more about it. Ha also tailored the tour to our tastes and preferences and our fullness - there was so much food to try! We would highly recommend this street food tour for anyone visiting Hue.
Outstanding! Ms Ha was engaging and informative and also told us many interesting facts about HUE. We had an absolutely beautiful time. We highly recommend this Food Tour!
We had a brilliant time with Ms Ha in Hue, she is super knowledgeable and helpful. She gave us lots of useful information and ate the most amazing food. We were lucky to be paired with a lovely family, so a great time was had! Thank you, Ha!
We had a wonderful time visiting local food spots and trying traditional Vietnamese dishes with Ha, thank you for everything.
We had the Tour together with Ha. She showed us very interesting places where you can get typical Vietnamese food. She explained a lot to us and the food was very good. We tried food at places which we could not find without her help. The evening was very entertaining. We can recommend this tour! Thank you for this great experience!
My guide Ms Ha was very nice. Went to interesting locations I never would have gone on my own. Enjoyed food and her knowledge of area and food
Our big group had a great time with Ms Ha who showed us amazing local spots throughout the city! We loved all the dishes and loved learning more about the city. Thank you so much!
Fantastic tour. Our guide, Ha, was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Great way to experience Hue through a local's eyes. Also got to learn about the history of the city through different dishes. The tour was not too long but gives you a good walk through the city, from the new to old side. Would highly recommend.
The trip was thoroughly enjoyable - Ha, our guide, was a delight. She was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. She took us to several local ‘street food’ vendors that we would have never tried and the food was great. She shared with us a wealth of information about the food, the vendors, the city and her own life and family. We were really pleased to have taken this tour and spend some time with Ha.
This tour was brilliant! Ha (my guide) was excellent - friendly, knowledgable and she picked wonderful places to eat and food that I wouldn’t have known (or maybe dared) to choose without her. Travelling around the city on a cyclo was wonderful and my driver was very cheerful and warm. I’d highly recommend this experience to others.
This was a brilliant experience! My guide Ha was an absolute delight and introduced me to some wonderful food - in places I would never have gone by myself and to places that I only saw locals eating in. The food tastings were genuine discoveries - things I have never tried before nor knew existed. My guide Ha not only had great food knowledge but her conversations around Vietnamese life and culture were absolutely fascinating and enlightening. And travelling around the city on a cyclo was a total buzz - with such a warm and friendly driver. I can only highly recommend this experience.
An incredible food tour across many different food vendors in Hue! It was a great way to see the city on motorcycle since I was the only person on the tour. Ha was very kind and introduced each dish to me, answering my many many questions. Would definitely recommend!
My tour with Ms Ha was brilliant! It was wet and low season, but Ms Ha made sure it was still a great tour. Went to local places I never would have known existed if not for the tour and got so much information about the food and the city!
Ha & T were excellent and brilliant throughout the evening and I enjoyed trying the various different local specialities. Coffee ending was a good ending to a great time.
Wonderful experience walking around and tasting delicacies from Hue. There were a variety of delicious dishes (bun Bo hue, ban bro, ban nam , ban loc etc) and it was terrific to hear more about the dishes, when and how they are eaten. Mr Hoang was a very friendly, knowledgeable and fun guide who really cares about his clients. Highly recommend!
Ha took me round to some local places that tourists don't usually go to. It was a really interesting tour. Ha was super friendly and answered all my questions about how the food is made, who eats it etc. Would definitely recommend to get an authentic taste of Hue's food scene!
The tour with Ms. Ha was wonderful. She took me to different places with delicious food and explained it to me. She also answered some questions of mine about Vietnam. Thank you!
Ms Trinh was fantastic , she was knowledgeable and great fun . Even a 6 ft over 60 years had fun on the tiny plastic chairs . I can’t recommend highly enough , not to be missed
Ha was a great guide, took me to places I would have Never sat down at and the food was very good! Even though I was on the tour alone I had a great time. Thanks!
This was a great tour . I was so fortunate to be the only one doing the tour , ruby was able to take me on her scooter to clam island . She was a warm and extremely knowledgable guide , her English was perfect . I devoured everything and I now know to go looking for more clam noodle dish . I would recommend to anyone interested in food .
What a great evening with many delicious dishes at 5 local restaurants. Our local guide Huong was very knowledgeable about Vietnamese cuisine and culture. We had a great evening thanks to Ms. Huong.
I had the pleasure of having Mrs.Trinh all to myself!! Her English was impeccable so I got to ask her questions about the culture and customs I had collected in my observations so far. All this discussion over some really really delicious food! Try the fermented pork sausage pre-dinner snack. It’s actually pretty good!
I thoroughly enjoyed this street food tour. As Hue is internationally renowned for its food, I wanted to try as much as possible when visiting the city, but found it intimidating as a solo traveller with little local knowledge! I was only person who booked this tour on the day so it was just me and my wonderful guide Ha, who not only gave me a great introduction to each dish and to her city but was great company for the evening. I sampled around 10 dishes in total, each generously portioned and delicious, so that I was ready to burst by the end of the evening but didn’t want to waste a bite! If you have a spare evening in Hue and even a casual interest in food then book this tour.
Just had an amazing tour with Ms. Trinh!! It felt like having a personal friend show me their favorite spots. Great food and great conversation!
Omgoodness so full! Thank you Ha for a perfect foodie experience. So good to meet you and learn more about Hue and Vietnam in general.
The tour was great. It just so happened I was the only person on the tour because the tourist season is winding down. My guide, Mr. Hoang (Lee), was very knowledgeable about all of the food and about Vietnam as a whole. He asked what dishes I had tried in the city already and tailored what we ordered so I was trying new things in each spot. He also made some additional recommendations of places to go as I continue my travels in Vietnam. I am thankful to him for making it a great experience even though I was solo.
When we visited Hue in 2019 we went on the Cyclo tour with Hoa and enjoyed it so much that we decided to do it again but this time with our daughter and her husband. Our guide this time was Ruby who spoke near perfect English. She took us to new places that we did not go to the previous time and she explained all the food in detail. We can highly recommend Ruby to show you the real food in Hue. The Cyclo option is more expensive than the walking tour but you get to experience a lot more of the city at night. Do this tour - you will not be disappointed.
Loved this tour :) It was such a fun way to explore all the foods Hue has to offer. Thank you so much !! <3
fantastic food tour of Hue. Trinh was our guide and she couldn’t have been more helpful or informative. The food was amazing and varied and we had lots of interesting conversations about Vietnam in general. Would highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time with Ruby who took us to 5 excellent stops on this tour. She was very knowledgeable and made sure we got the most out of the tour! The food was varied and really tasty. Great to try places we hadn’t found on our own.
I had a wonderful street food tour with my guide Trinh, who I by chance already met earlier in the day on a guided tour around the imperial citadel. She showed me around Hue‘s small local food shops and presented me with some of the Hue specific local dishes and the cuisine of central Vietnam. I really enjoyed the tour, walking around the nightlife and learn about what distinguishes different parts of Vietnam in the food options. But be prepared: There will be LOTS of food! So better to not have had a big breakfast/lunch ;)
Spent a lovely evening walking the streets of Hue and tasting all the delicious food on this tour. Our guide, Fi, was so friendly, knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. Thanks for a fun night!
This was the third of 5 food tours that my husband and I did in Vietnam, the second of 3 that I booked through Culture Pham Travel, and the first of 2 that we did in Hue. We met up with Ruby at the appointed time and waited inside the hotel lobby for the other folks on our tour to arrive. We got a little bit of a late start, but it was nice to have a group of 6. At our first stop, we had a variety of snack dishes—a lot of things we hadn’t tried before—and Ruby was careful about making sure that a guest with a shellfish allergy had a least a few options. She had even stopped ahead of time to add some BBQ pork to the menu, so it was a little awkward when one of the guests demanded that she order more because it was cold. Honestly, a couple on the tour made the whole experience a bit uncomfortable. They were borderline rude when it came to respecting group dynamics. When the group voted on one of the stops (banh mi or banh xeo), the vote was 4 to 2 for banh mi, and they demanded that the tour guide make a special private stop so that they could have the banh xeo, essentially threatening to leave the guide a bad review if she didn’t accommodate them. IMO, if they wanted a custom tour, they should’ve booked a private tour. Then, when they met us back up at the stop that the majority had chosen—which they had not wanted because they said they’d already had so much banh mi—they proceeded to buy the banh mi because it was precisely the type they’d been looking for! I only share this unfortunate experience because our guide did such a good job of graciously handling the situation. I really liked the bun hen (clam noodles) and my husband surprisingly enjoyed the red bean dessert at the end. I will say that the description offers hotel pick-up, but there was an appointed meeting spot. Perhaps pick-up is just for private tours, but it’s not totally clear on the site (or wasn't when we booked). When you make your booking, they’ll let you know the meeting spot. Don’t get too attached to the website description. We sat outside ground level for the bun hen, NOT the second floor of a house with “panoramic views” and there was no “beer opening performance” or beer. We also ended much earlier than 9pm because it was really a food tour more than a food and culture tour, but the food that we had was unique and good, and Ruby was lovely.
Visited some local food vendors I would not have experienced otherwise. Fantastic tour on the back of a bike. Tour Guide grew up in this area. Thank you.
