Quite easily the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Service was impeccable, with friendly and warm staff diligently attending to our every need. The architecture, grounds and rooms are beautiful - especially the restaurant and the bar area. We opted for a room with a private pool, and were pleasantly surprised that it was cleaned twice daily including mopping the floors, which was a nice touch. The pool was incredibly clean and a delight to use, secreted away under giant plants which made for a lovely ambience. Given our love of Vietnamese food, we were surprised to find that the restaurant here provided some of the best, authentic meals we've eaten in the country. Breakfast was included, a la carte and unlimited, and the quality was miles above that of standard breakfast buffets elsewhere. We usually ordered three dishes between us to share, as well as iced coffees and infused teas or fresh juices, and staff would routinely ask if we wanted more. Both breakfast and dinner had a wide selection available, and we felt this did not come at the cost of quality. We tried noodle soups, duck confit, chilli grouper, clams, shrimp in Thai sauce, fried rice, banh mi, bun bo hue... I even had a cheeseburger for breakfast out of curiosity, and it was so good I had to order a second one! It also has to be said that the opening times of the restaurant are much appreciated - breakfast served until 10:00, and dinner until 22:00, allows for so much flexibility when it comes to going out on day tours, or wanting a lie-in. Finally, the hotel were very helpful in organising a transfer to our next hotel in Hoi An. They had an itinerary planned, and the price was competitive with similar excursions on Booking.com. This gave us lovely peace of mind! The only downside would be that the location of the hotel is not within easy walking distance of many of the attractions or eateries of Hue, but with ease of travel through apps like Grab this is a very minor issue. We already wanted to come back to Vietnam after this holiday, and this accomodation has made that even more likely. I would recommend that anyone coming here stays at Ancient Hue Garden Houses!

Lovely, can image a better stay in Hue, would come back again Liked · We used to stay at a big hotel, so Ancient Hue is such a fresh place. We expected the Hue atmosphere from the photos, but this exceeded it. We booked 2 Cong Canh rooms, which are one large unit of two rooms connected by a shared entrance, plus a guest room. The whole facility is submerged in green with lovely flowers and trees. The room is spacious, and in a good way, so it makes you feel warm and calms you down. The interior is well thought out and fits the overall theme. You may feel dark at first, but when you get used to it, you will love it. You will love the à la carte breakfast as well. We tried three different dishes and loved all of them. The facility is located near the palace, so if you want to the weather is good, you can actually walk to some of the sightseeing spots. Disliked · There is no separate key card to keep the electricity on, so when you go out of the room and bring the key with you, everything is off. When you come back to the room it may take some time for the room to cool down again.
Go for the room with private pool. The staff here are incredible sometimes cleaning the room twice a day. The place has a dual theme, traditional vietnemese or french. You have the option of staying over in the french area but why would you do that. The layout and the decor is so fitting for the legend of Hue. Take the time to notice the attention to detail in the room and the premises and notice all the carvings and artwork. It rained the whole time but grabs come to the front, there are always umbrellas handy and the staff are so friendly and helpful getting in and out of grab. They even brought me a surprise birthday cake. How did they know passionfruit was my favourite? Hire a motor bike here is a good idea, the hotel doesn’t do hires but it here are plenty that drop off and pickup to the hotel. The breakfast has traditional vietnemese and western, and you can choose more than one. The buffet is basic but quality. The coffee is good. You won’t leave hungry. I probably wouldn’t go to Hue again, something you only do once but it’s an unforgettable experience, so pay the extra to stay here and immortalise your experience in this historic town.
Ancient Huế was one of the most unique stays of our journey through Vietnam. We stayed in the beautiful Bạch Mã House, and it was truly something special. The room had so much character, with antique furniture and details inspired by Huế’s imperial history, yet at the same time it was extremely comfortable, with a large bathroom, jacuzzi bathtub and private pool. The whole property has a wonderful atmosphere: peaceful, elegant and surrounded by a beautiful garden. Staying there felt almost like stepping into another time, which made it the perfect place to experience Huế. A very memorable stay, and definitely one of the most distinctive hotels of our trip.
We chose this hotel in Hue because of its excellent score, great reviews and beautiful photos. I'm normally quite critical in hotel reviews, since there's always room for improvement, but this hotel exceeded expectations on almost every level. The Ancient Huế Garden Houses is a small-scale boutique hotel located just outside the busy center of Hue, yet conveniently close to the Imperial Citadel. There are two types of buildings/rooms: wooden structures (typical old Vietnamese style with dark wood) and stone buildings (French colonial style with lots of colour and light). Everything is set in a perfectly maintained garden full of plants. We stayed in a room on the first floor of one of the stone, French colonial-style buildings. The room was beautifully decorated and equipped with truly every comfort. There are 2 swimming pools, 2 restaurants (Vietnamese and French), a bar, and an excellent spa. We ate at the Vietnamese restaurant twice, which has an extensive menu and a very pleasant setting. Beyond the perfection of the hotel itself, one other thing really stood out: although Vietnamese people are generally friendly, this was next level. Incredible warmth and a huge amount of service, yet always very professional. In short, I almost never give a hotel top marks, but here I simply can't do otherwise. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
