The shower was clogged and there was no hot water, just warm water and there were two small looking flies in my room. Some of the staff were very kind and professional but some of the older staff had a bad attitude and a poor demeanor. I would not call this a luxury hotel and I will probably not return. If you enjoy staying in the middle of the super busy, hectic and loud tourist area then go for it. It is conveniently located but there are other hotels that are just as convenient. The room was more spacious than expected so that was a positive and the restaurants in the area are probably the best part about this hotel but I would still much rather stay somewhere that isn’t as chaotic and inconsistent.
Location is ideal for those exploring all of Hong Kong owing to proximity to MRT, trams, buses and ferries. Using an Octopus card one may enjoy a combination of all transport options.
Wharney is modern, clean and quiet. The premier ocean double room was well equipped with linen in as new condition. Shower water pressure and hot supply fantastic.

I strongly advise anyone—especially families—to avoid this hotel at all costs. My stay was incredibly disappointing and, frankly, disturbing for several reasons:
Hygiene Issues: The rooms are severely outdated and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, I found a cockroach in the room. It was clear that the space had not been properly cleaned in quite some time.
Safety & Environment: This is not a family-friendly environment. There was a constant "ballet" of sex workers coming in and out of the building at all hours. It created a very uncomfortable and sketchy atmosphere that felt unsafe.
Overall Condition: The property feels neglected and does not match the photos or descriptions provided online.
Between the pests and the questionable activity in the hallways, I did not feel comfortable staying here. Save your money and your peace of mind—book somewhere else.
Had a short stay at The Wharney Hotel. We booked a family room and were quite pleased with the cleanliness, and the shower had strong water pressure.
The room size was average, and the bed was soft and comfortable.
Complimentary snacks and drinks in the room fridge is a nice gesture.
Check-in staff were friendly and even provided us with complimentary breakfast, which was a nice touch.
The location is excellent, with plenty of eateries and convenience stores nearby. Overall, it was a very good experience, and I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Value for money.
I stayed for three nights in an e-plus room, which included lounge access. The room was clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay. One of the best perks was the lounge, where complimentary beverages were available all day.
The hotel’s location is also very convenient, as it is within easy walking distance to the train station. Additionally, I noticed a unique layout: according to the lift directory, each floor appears to be dedicated to a specific room type.
