Not sure how this is a five star hotel the quality and decor is poor, the rooms are very dated and musty. The windows aren’t clean. There is no soundproofing. There is nothing nice or special about this place for the price. It is central and handy to be able to get here from airport for short stay rather than change lines but I much prefer to stay in other areas of Hong Kong. I definitely won’t be staying here again.
This hotel is very well located, easy to walk to many great cafes, restaurants and bars. The rooms are large and have very comfortable beds. Bathrooms are well equipped too. Also liked the water dispenser which allowed us to have as much water as we’d like. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.
This is hands down the worst five-star hotel when it comes to soundproofing. If you’re hoping for a good night's rest, forget about it—you'll be kept awake by loud music blasting all night long.
The experience staying at The Pottinger was a great one from start to finish. The staff at reception were very welcoming and attentive, with the location and quality of the room adding to this. Whenever I’m next in Hong Kong, it’ll be at the top of my list to stay at again!
My wife and I were extremely impressed with our stay. We only wish we could provide the hotel 6 stars, particularly from our experience with their amazing staff. We also loved our rooms and the hotel location. Our 18 month old son was injured shortly after our arrival. Linus (I apologize if I have misspelled his name) was at the front desk and offered all the assistance we could ever expect. He helped offer to hail a cab, and then also helped correct a misunderstanding about the Children's hospital and provide information about the nearest ER. He was very engaged in making sure we had what we needed. We continued to love our stay at the Pottinger. It was in an excellent location with easy walking distance to many of the sights we wanted to see and access to public or private transit to those in further areas. The other staff was equally amazing and kind. Guinevere and Linus were frequently there and always offered a warm greeting when we arrived or were leaving. The cleaning staff was also very kind. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to any visitor and can fully endorse it is an excellent place for adventure travelers and family travelers alike with great staff, clean rooms, and an amazing location.
