The Mira Hong Kong Hotel

The Mira Hong Kong is the embodiment of a hotel gunning for the Luxury space and price tag without the service and quality. Branding itself as a 5-Star hotel, the experience did not deliver on all aspects of check-in, room experience, housekeeping and check-out. The hotel feels like a premium facade draped over a dated, money-seeking establishment that just happened to sit on a good plot of land. Check-in was standard, and when asked for the availability of a room upgrade or late checkout as part of Marriott’s Elite programme, the receptionist mentioned that she was unable to provide either, as “we only have a partnership with Marriott”, which goes against the benefits posted on Marriott's website. The room is old, with barely any space for hangars, the bluetooth and chromecast functions in the room did not work, and drawers were falling apart. What irked me most was the obvious cash-grab opportunities, like the 3 separate cards found in the room for minibar, amenities and even asking guests to purchase their bathrobes. Check-out was once again standard, but when I handed over my room card to the Concierge, I was redirected to the “express check-out box” to drop the keys. There was a line mentioning along the lines of “For express check-out, pass the room key card to any of the staff…”, which obviously this was not possible. In all, service was lack-lustre, and the rooms did not shout 5-Star Luxury. The Mira Hong Kong does not delivery a luxury guest experience nor service, but rather a luxury signalling, being design-forward rather than providing a true luxury experience. Leaving a 2-star review in hopes that the hotel will improve on its customer experience.

Amazing location, the room was also good, but the service at ten reception and the bar at the ground floor was super cold. The service at Vibe was very good though, worth to visit if you are staying at the hotel.

Excellent stay at the Mira HK. The hotel is well located - short walk distance from TST station, and conveniently walking distance to many malls and eateries. The hotel itself is well maintained, super clean, spacious rooms, great amenities (between the swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym, but also multiple restaurants to go to) Staff was very helpful and friendly. We had no issue checking in and checking out. We were travelling with a toddler below 2, and the staff made it work like a breeze. As we were flying back in a late flight, we were able to checkout late (for a fee) and be able to leave our stuff and freshen up before a long trip back home. Overall would recommend staying there!

Concierge and reception were very polite and helpful. They helped me with shortened my stay at no charge due to impromptu cancellation of an event. As I checked out early, they helped me to manage the return of my parcel which was delivered after I left. Breakfast was great too.
