Room is small. The aircon control is dated, so not much control, if you are particular. The flush system is weak. You must turn the tube of the shower head a particular angle to have it in the middle when you shower. Toothpaste is not provided. You can buy it at the reception. Hair conditioner is not provided either. Locate L4 exit when you are at TST MTR station. Be warned - you need to lug your luggage up a flight of stairs to reach the hotel via MTR.
I first stayed at this hotel 27 yrs ago. Ut has gone through some very pleasant updates, much like the neighborhoods around it. Very close proximity to the harbor, shopping, and multiple MTR stations. The rooms are on the small size, my daughter and I had a 2 twin room and the beds were about 6" apart from each other.
I had a great stay! The location is perfect and close to everything. The rooms are decent, clean, comfortable, and have exactly what you need for a good night's sleep. Excellent service,. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and made me feel welcome from check-in to check-out. Perfect location within walking distance to the harbour, shopping, subway, and restaurants!
The Kowloon serves a purpose if all you need is a place to crash in a convenient area and you don’t require any amenities. It is very basic and budget friendly hotel. I was not comfortable staying here. I unfortunately stayed 1 night and had to book a different hotel for the rest of my vacation. The rooms are dated. You cannot control the AC and therefore it is always frigid cold, which we understood because that was probably one of the only ways they could control the mold growth in the bathroom. Yes, there is mold growth in the bathroom along the tiles, bathroom fixtures, and grout. The wifi is not efficient. And they do not offer any free toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste) and you would need to pay for it if needed. They had placed us in a room that was across from other rooms that were undergoing construction. Therefore the smell was strong. Which, our walls were thin and we can hear everything. Overall, the staff provided sufficient service. But if you are trying to enjoy your vacation and need a hotel that provides a relaxing/restful environment, the Kowloon is not it.
I like this hotel but it’s kind of dated. Check in took a few minutes but was okay. Rooms are a bit small and the design of the hotel is just so cool! Although I recommend the rooms to be a bit bigger. Service is nice and they are very kind. Always smile! Location is what’s best here. MTR is connected to the hotel, lots of shopping like 7 eleven for quick buying things like snacks, but the problem is if the space was bigger it would be better because of the luggage. Would love to go back here again!
