Wifi in the room is slow. Must avoid the rooms next to the elevator shaft because the elevators shake and make big noise like a fighter jet flying over your head. Breakfast is bad. Just go out to have some simple restaurant food. Staff is helpful and friendly.

This is a good budget hotel. Located on the fringe of Causeway Bsy across from St Paul’s hospital, down a little laneway called Shelter Street. 5 mins walk to the heart of CWB. Decent rooms with nice finishes. clean but could be cleaner, of course. Small room with 2 twin beds but not too small. Many food options within a few mins walk. Elevators slow this visit as one was out of order. I had a high 09 room which had a part sea view. One con is Uber- could not set my pick up for shelter street, had to walk a block to Moreton Terrace. Odd, since there is a pull over lane in front of the hotel parking area. Overall a good budget hotel if in the $HK 500 per night range (excluding breakfast for me). Staff were very attentive and responsive to me.
Good location 350-450m away from MTR! Small room, queen size bed 🛌 actually 2 single beds putting in together! Old building but our room has a great view too! We did not pay for breakfast here since you guys can have many restaurants nearby For the 500$ HKD deposit, so many other customers already said that it was not released when checked out, I’m also worried about this too and today we checked out, that amount of deposit still charged to my card (I meant it was charged not on hold like the hotel receptionist said)
We stayed for 7 days in January/February 2026. PROS. Great Causeway Bay location, handy to bus, tram & MTR. Housekeeping and porters were excellent. Older building but quite well looked after. Hot water pressure was very good. 100% non-smoking. CONS. Smallish rooms but ok for the price. Slow lifts. Rock hard bed, with 2 singles pushed together instead of double/queen. Refrigerator in room was not cold enough for drinks or milk. No laundry facilities. Breakfast very basic for western expectations. Reception staff were clueless when it came to sorting a deposit that hadn't been released, with no sign of an apology. No heating in room.
“Typhoon Ragasa!” I recently visited Hong Kong and stayed at the Rosedale Hotel for 2 nights. While my trip was unexpectedly interrupted by Typhoon Ragasa, I still had a generally positive experience thanks to the hotel’s comfort and service. The room was clean, tidy, and well-maintained – which was especially important since we ended up spending more time indoors than planned due to the storm. The bed was comfortable, and all the basic amenities were in place. I appreciated the calm and quiet environment during such unpredictable weather. Breakfast at the hotel was also a pleasant surprise. There was a decent variety of both Western and Asian options, and everything tasted fresh. It was a good way to start the day, even if we were a bit stuck due to the weather. What really stood out was the staff – they were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful despite the challenges brought by the typhoon. From helping with local updates to making sure guests were safe and comfortable, they handled the situation professionally. While the typhoon definitely impacted the overall trip, Rosedale Hotel provided a safe and comfortable place to wait it out. I’d definitely consider staying here again – hopefully next time under sunnier skies!
