The state of the hotel is reflected in the price. Renovation is ongoing, but if you end up in one of the old rooms you need to be patient waiting for help as most parts in the room is really end of life and is barely working. You need to call service a lot or be a handyman. Staff is great and compensates the hotel shortcomings to the greatest possible extent. So all in all, at the right price this is a great place to stay.
The hotel staff were polite, professional and really helpful, the room I had was slightly dated but spacious, the breakfast buffet had a selection of a few local favourites which I appreciated. I took the A41 airport bus to the hotel (can pay with credit card on the bus), it actually stops at a bus stop named 'Regal Riverside Hotel' so it's really convenient, the journey was approximately 50 minutes from the airport to that bus stop. When you get off the bus, turn right and down towards the riverbank footpath as there'll be a tunnel that takes you to the other side of the major road where the hotel sits, can enter the hotel via the large glass frontage / doors which is situated in the middle, under the signage '34-36 Tai Chung Kiu Road'.
This hotel is very good, the staff were extremely nice and the rooms are clean and tidy. The riverside view also lets you see all the people rowing in the Shing Min River. The beds are comfortable and is at a very convenient location since it is close to supermarkets and delicious restaurants. The room service is very fast and good. The atmosphere is very good and is a nice quiet space in the rooms. The smoke alarm looks very nice unlike other hotels and there is a very low chance of a fire.
Feb 26: We joined a local tour for a lunch buffet here. The food variety was quite broad, but each item had limited choices, probably because it was a lunch buffet. The taste was decent, and luckily no stomach issues. The place was clean, staff were friendly, and they kept refilling the food. Drinks were free-flow, including tea, coffee, and canned beverages. Desserts were rotated and tasted nice. They served sashimi, shrimp, and mussels, but no oysters. Toilet is fine. There is a small children playground, children can play after meal.
This stay was an absolute delight! The hotel boasts a convenient location that makes getting around a breeze. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, handling check-in efficiently with thoughtful service that made the whole experience perfect. The room was clean and bright with a well-designed layout, the bedding was soft and cozy, and all facilities were complete and well-maintained—every small detail showed great care, making the stay incredibly comfortable. The cleanliness was impeccable; the entire room was spotless with no unpleasant odors, and the bathroom amenities were of great quality, bringing total peace of mind. From the environment and facilities to the service, everything exceeded all expectations with an unbeatable value for money. I’ll definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit and highly recommend it to everyone!
