💯 CONVENIENT, SAFE & COMFORTABLE As a solo frequent visitor to HK, my ideal hotel needs to be near public transport, in a safe area and a comfortable place to recharge. Hotel MADERA is all this and more – the staff are now people I can turn to for warmth and assistance. ❤️ GREAT LOCATION Madera is on Cheong Lok Street, off Nathan Road, which means convenience without the traffic noise! There is easy access to: - Airport Bus A21 (stops in front of Nathan Hotel). Fare is only HKD34.60. Cross the road for the return trip and the stop is in front of DS Groceries. - Jordan MTR exit B2, gateway to the efficient subway network - Buses that go everywhere in HK. ❤️ SAFE To me, the Jordan neighbourhood is not as crowded, colourful or complicated compared to TST or Mongkok. - Once I took a bus to HK Coliseum and after the concert, I hopped onto another bus back. I arrived around 11:45pm and the people still on the streets were ordinary locals and tourists. - Madera’s lobby is on the ground floor, so entry is right from the street, unlike some hotels with lobbies on upper levels and people need to take a lift upstairs. To me, that’s adding some uncertainty and anxiety. - Madera is a boutique style 4star hotel with only 4 units per floor served by 2 very efficient lifts. Access is controlled by key card in the lift to your floor and room, so there is double security. The room comes with double locks, so it adds up to a very safe environment! ❤️ COMFORTABLE The standard room is regular shaped and BIG by HK standards. Finally, enough space to leave my luggage open! - The bed is accessible from three sides and stands in the middle of the room, and not on the window. - There are at least 4 electrical points and TV comes with Netflix! I like the durable towel fabric slippers. Toiletries are provided (toothpaste, tooth brush, cotton pads) and the fragrance of shampoo, conditioner and body wash is calming. - Conveniences are mini fridge, safe, hair dryer, weighing machine, desk, chair, lounger and kettle. Freebies are 4 sachets of beverages, a pack of chips and 4 cans of drinks (2 Coke and 2 water). - There are hangers in the wardrobe with mirror doors. The face mirror in the bathroom has magnifying effect. - Water pressure in the shower is strong and the hot water never runs out. The detachable shower head lets me enjoy a cleaner wash. Towels are fluffy enough. The housekeeper comes daily and is thorough. 😬 There are minor stains on the curtain and carpet but these are acceptable to me, given that Madera has been in business for some years. 😬 The lack of a view doesn’t bother me too, as I mostly need the room to rest in. ❤️ EXCELLENT SERVICE Since January 2025, I have stayed at Madera 4 times. - And I will keep returning, kudos to its friendly and hardworking staff who did their best to fulfil my needs – hard pillow, corner room, heater during winter and assistance with concert tickets. - My past three stays were also made more cosy and comfortable with room upgrades 🥰 To Fiona, Alfred, Shirley and team, thank you all for welcoming me warmly “home” each time! I will be back again!

I was initially a bit skeptical about visiting Hong Kong because I’d heard rumors that the service culture could be a bit blunt, but Shirley and Joe at Hotel Madera completely shattered that stereotype. They were both extremely friendly, welcoming, and warm from the moment we arrived. The hotel itself is fantastic, the rooms are very clean and incredibly spacious. A special, heartfelt thank you goes to Miss Shirley.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ She handled both our check-in and check-out flawlessly and even booked our airport taxi. She truly went the extra mile when she saw me struggling to hold my toddler and immediately stepped in to carry our heavy luggage all the way to the taxi. That kind gesture completely made our day! We appreciate your genuine kindness so much. We will absolutely be staying at Hotel Madera again on our next trip to Hong Kong. Thank you, Shirley 🙏🏻
Nice hotel, good location, friendly staff, room size OK, bed OK, toilet OK. However, I really hate it when the hotel takes deposit from you and takes long time to return it to your bank account.
Great little Hotel based, conveniently located and well-equipped. Rooms decently sized and comfortable too - I loved the Jacuzzi Bath! TV connectivity was easy and snack/drinks were nice to have. A water machine on each floor (or even Lobby/Cafe) would be a nice and useful addition for guests to refill. Gym is not open 24hrs and located next door to the Hotel. Female staff were helpful and kindly assisted me with an issue during check-in. Unfortunately male staff were rude and curt with me during check-out. One employee in particular who was pre-occupied playing games on his phone rather than attending properly to customers and guests, which was very unprofessional and poor service conduct. Apart from that point, A/C was quite loud in the room and pillows much too soft (down filling rather than microfiber/bamboo options?). All good save these minor points.
Well designed and equipped rooms for its size. Limited options for dining given its just one restaurant. The rooftop bar is an underrated gem; great views and decent drinks with a cozy atmosphere. The staff are prompt and helpful and attentive. It isn't as expansive and feature-oriented as other larger hotels but for its size and budget is a fantastic option. Location is also a plus; in proximity to shops, supermarkets, cafes and even the MTR exits only minutes away.
