Dorsett Mongkok, Hong Kong

Just spent four nights at the Dorsett hotel in Mongkok and overall we had a really good experience. This is our first stay at a Dorsett hotel, we have one in London which is only a short walk from where I live so we were intrigued with how it would be. On arrival, staff were friendly and check in process was smooth. Common areas were clean and the air con was a lovely escape from the Hong Kong heat. We really loved the location, close to the MTR and really cool coffee shops nearby. I saw that the hotel offered free transfers to areas nearby but this wasn’t needed for us. I liked that there was a lounge for guests. We used this to wash our clothes as there were self laundry services, we also saw that there was a free wine reception but sadly we missed this! The bed was comfortable and the room included what you would need for a short stay. The only thing I would say is that the room was incredibly small, I appreciate this is Hong Kong so this is standard here. However, I feel like the room could do with some TLC as some of the fittings and bathroom were in a poor state for a 4 star hotel. Overall - great experience and I would recommend 😊

I had an absolutely fantastic 7-nights stay at this hotel. The location is exceptional. Several eateries like Mcdonalds, a sushi place, etc along with departmental stores like ParkNShop, 7-Eleven very nearby. The Olympic MTR is a 7 mins walk away and provides greeat connectivity to other places. The hotel offers complimentary detox water from morning till evening 5 pm, a free candy bar from 6 to 7 pm , and happy hours with wine from 6-7 pm everyday. There's a self service laundry arrangement, as well, that I utilized. The breakfast spread was decent, as well. You'll have enough choices to have a good meal before starting your day. Coming to the rooms, I chose the Comfort room - it's small but it's Hong Kong, afterall, which is all about maximizing space. Since I was a solo traveller, if didn't make much of a difference to me. The rooms were neat and clean, and my room on the 8th floor had a great view. Everybody in the hotel was polite and ensured that the check in and check out process was done smoothly. The best part was the free hotel shuttle service that drops you off at key locations like Sneaker Street, nearby the K11Musea, and Kowloon MTR station. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is genuinely lovely and its location is a major highlight. It’s about a 10–15 minute walk to Mong Kok Station and even closer to Olympic Station, so you’re conveniently positioned between both. Despite being in such a central area, the neighbourhood itself is quiet, you don’t hear any traffic noise from the room. Step outside though and you’ll find plenty of eateries and small spots to explore, so you definitely won’t go hungry. The room was clean, reasonably sized by Hong Kong standards and although the furniture is a bit dated, everything is well maintained and spotless. The hotel also offers useful facilities like a gym and a laundry room; I used the laundry room and found it easy and pleasant to use. The staff were excellent and friendly, welcoming and always ready to help. The hotel also provides a complimentary hourly shuttle service to several nearby areas, ending at Kowloon Station where you can catch the AirPort Express. It’s first come, first served, but still a great perk. Overall, I’d happily stay here again the next time I’m in the area.

A Wonderful Stay at the Dorsett Mong Kok! We stayed at the Dorsett Mong Kok for a week and had a fabulous experience from start to finish. The staff at check‑in were genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the housekeeping team on the 19th floor deserve a special mention — they were always so kind and cheerful. Our room was comfortable and well equipped with great amenities, including a small fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, which we really appreciated. The bathroom was tiny, but no smaller than the one we had in Tokyo — completely expected for a city hotel. The only minor downside was that the carpet looked a little tired, but that didn’t affect our enjoyment of the stay. We loved the neighbourhood and found the location very convenient, with shops and restaurants nearby and easy walking access to Olympic, Prince Edward, and Mong Kok MTR stations. We didn’t use the shuttle bus or the free wine pour (we were out exploring at those times), but we did use the hotel’s laundry service, which was excellent. The vending machines were also a nice touch for quick snacks or drinks. We mostly ate at small local restaurants nearby — they offered fantastic food and great value. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here and were genuinely sad to leave. When we return to Hong Kong, we’ll definitely consider staying at the Dorsett again.
